  • Location near Times Square and theaters.
  • Furniture and carpet dated and worn, high cost of food and in-room internet access.

“The room was clean and comfortable although dated and worn. The staff was friendly, courteous and helpful. Food prices in hotel are very high. In-room internet connection charge is outrageously high; very inconvenient for business travelers.”

“The hotel was great....clean and convenient to the sites in NY. Although the staff at the front desk wasn't overly pleasant, it didn't bother me. They gave me a room on the back side of the Hotel facing the services, but for the money I didn't mind.”

“Everyone made our stay very pleasant. The guys at the concierge desk were fantastic! The bathrooms all over the hotel need a serious face lift!!! Get rid of the mold in the tubs on the silicone.”

  • Good location and free internet access in the lobby
  • Dirty rooms that were dirty, old and look well used.

“Hotel was no a four star hotel. It is located accross from Sheraton Manhattan so two Sheraton hotels are kiddy corner from eachother.The rooms are worse than a holiday in, old, well used and unclean. I was happy with the location and service though.”

“The room was small, but sufficient for two. Could have been better in the vacuuming and daily room service. The bed was great - large and nice bedding. The tv also was large, so that was nice for those who like to climb into bed and watch some late night tv.”

  • Great hotel all around for location.
  • No response to concerns on the remote not working on the TV.

“After three calls on two different days I gave up on the remote ever working. I was told it would be fixed, but it was not. On my last day I had called down to the front desk explaining that I had a conference call to take that morning for 30 minutes, and asked if they could stop whatever construction their was in the room next door. Nothing was ever done about it, and the noise was so bad I could not take my call.”

“I would definitely stay here again. The location was great; easy to get a cab; close to many restaurants, and the theaters. Short walk to the subway system. Close to Radio City Music Hall.”

  • The best thing about the hotel was the excellent location. It was centrally located to the areas of the city we frequently visit & subways stops
  • The noise from the hallways was not filtered by the door. Probably one of the noisiest rooms I have ever stayed in.

“The location of the hotel is it's greatest selling point The comfort of the bed was excellent as well. The room was clean, air conditioning worked well, and a nice sized flat screen TV was a plus. In addition, the access to computers in the lobby was a nice feature. Staff was pleasant and helpful.”

  • The location was fantastic, right near Times Square. The bed was comfortable- linens were nice & pillows perfect!
  • The room was old, and the furnitures (lamp, aircon) didn't work at first & needed repair. Some towels had holes in them.

“We stayed at Sheraton Manhattan for 4 nights. The locations was really good, right in the heart of Midtown, near Times Square. It was being renovated while we're there so the restos were closed. The room we had was pretty basic and clean, but the room looked old. The bed was perfect though and the washroom was also good. We just didn't like it that the aircon didn't work well, we had to call the engineer to turn it on and the rest of the time, we had to experiment to turn it on again. The lamp we had at first didn't work so the housekeeper had to replace it. The staff were really helpful and friendly though that despite the problems we had at the room, they attended to us immediately.”

  • The Link in the lobby and excellent concierge service.
  • Common for NYC, but the room was quite small.

“Hotel lobby is very nice with marble and dark wood. Came in late on a Friday evening and was immediately checked in to our expected room. Used the expert assistance of the concierge service on at least two or three occasions for directions or meal suggestions. Check-out was a breeze and there were no extra charges. Room was clean, although small, and had a nice sized plasma TV and a very comfortable bed with nice linens. Overall, very happy with this hotel as our choice for our first NYC visit.”

  • The king size bed and the bedding. Excellent location.
  • Street noise is strong at night, but it's the same way at any hotel in NY City.

  • Room had a great view! The bed was amazingly comfortable!
  • Restaurant/bar was closed except for breakfast! No room service!

“I was nervous about this hotel after reading other reviews but our stay was perfect! We had a nice king sized room on the 15th floor with a view. The staff was very accommodating to all of our requests, from holding our luggage to bringing us new batteries for our TV remote. The hotel was very clean and the staff very courteous and professional. We didn't hear any noise from neighboring guests as others have stated in their reviews. The computers in the lobby were a plus although we didn't get a chance to use them until very late at night. The only drawback was there was no room service and the restaurant was only open for breakfast. This only caused us to discover many wonderful nearby delis & cafes to eat at, in fact the Carnegie Deli is only a short walk from this hotel!”

“The rooms are very run down. There was a disgusting metal table next to bed I couldn't touch. Upholstery was torn on chair. This is inappropriate for 3.5star hotel-Sheraton. Wall paper peeling. Was switched to another room after 1 day. No chair in 2nd room - still peeling wallpaper, sink not draining properly. Nice staff. Very disappointed. Have stayed at hotel before -- when it wasn't run down.”

“The location was perfect for Times Square and Manhattan, in general. The staff was very helpful and hotel was clean. Only problem was remote for TV didn't work, the replacement we asked for worked off and on. Also, web site says rooms have docking station for Ipod, which they did not. We were not happy to find the restaurant in the hotel, Russo's, to be shut down for the summer. Overall, very satisfied.”

“Location. Location. Location. This hotel offers a great location for a New York visitor. Our room was spacious and had a wonderfully comfortable bed. BUT -- The downside of this hotel is the lack of written information in the room to guide you through the amenities available and the locations. This may be an oversight for our particular room but staff members never attempted to correct the problem.”

“A motel is for sure better than what they call them self hotel. The room is too old I thought I will become a deaf because of the noise inside the room. The A/C too noisy. The furniture too old and the wall is a complete joke.”

  • Dirty carpets, old wall paper falling off the wall, slow elevators.

“Needs work. Though it has a good location, there are very few perks to this hotel. The place is run down and needs a makeover badly. The carpets in the rooms are dirty and the wall paper is peeling. The walls are paper thin, and you will hear everything going on in your neighbor's room! The elevators are slow and dirty. We were on the 15th floor and often waited 5 minutes for the elevator. There was a nice pool, rare for hotels in this location. The staff was helpful and there was free internet access in the lobby, though you had to wait for computers to open up.”

  • Prompt courteous, attentive service, attention to detail and flexibility.
  • Our first room was so crowded that one suitcase impeded access to the bathroom.

“The Sheraton Manhattan is safe, clean, well lit, and perfectly situated. The rooms are clean, soundproof, the proximity to shows, Times Square is ideal, the concierge staff was friendly, adept at directing us to all of the boroughs, including providing maps, multiple routes to and from the Sheraton. I would recommend both Priceline and the Sheraton Manhattan to family and friends.”

  • The room was well below 3.5 star level.

“You can't beat the location and the price I negotiated through Priceline was excellent, but, if this is a 3.5 star hotel well, I guess you earn your stars more easily in NYC than elsewhere. The room was below average and not very clean or well repaired. We had to call the desk to have the filter from the A/C unit put back in dust bunnies from the unit had fallen out and scattered all around the carpet. Someone had obviously tried to pry their way in through the door at some point and they hadn't repaired it. The door was secure, but just barely. The carpet was old, stained and the bathroom was tiny. The location is definitely the best thing about the hotel.”

  • Very convenient. Close to Letterman, Broadway shows, Carnegie hall, great restaurants, Central Park, subway.
  • Check out clerk refused to give me a bill stating showing I had no charges on my credit card. No hotel points earned.

“Location.
The 19th floor room was cleaned well every morning by accommodating staff. The four lane 25 meter indoor attended pool was clean. The workout room/sauna was sufficient. Also on the fifth floor is an outdoor two tiered patio. I would definitely stay there again at the affordable price.”

  • Excellent location, plus the bed was comfortable.
  • The room needed some updating,
    TV did not really work. Very loud, you could hear the elevator all night long.

  • Excellent location.
  • Room and floor looked worn. Inadequate internet stations access.

“The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The concierge appeared to be rude and should be replaced with more pleasant staff to give a more personal service. My room was located on the 10th floor that looked like it could use some renovations in the public areas off the elevator as well as in my room. The size of hotel room that I received was an adequate size although the bathroom was too small. For a hotel of this size the number of available internet stations on the main floor was inadequate.”

  • An overall cheap, cost-cutting feel.

“A Red Roof Inn in the heart of Manhattan - clean, basic and cheap, in a great location. Unfortunately, the hotel was priced and sold as a 3.5 star property. The TV remote control didn't work. The corridors were dark and dreary, the lobby was congested, and the internet was poor or expensive. Numerous small negative touches gave the feel of a hotel more interested in cutting every corner than providing a three-plus-star experience. Horrible view out the window. My experience has substantially (negatively) impacted my opinion of the entire Sheraton brand.”
