• Expensive for location, not in Times Square, expensive for location.

• Nice large rooms with great bathrooms and bedding.

“Excellent location in times square. I found the rooms to be very sound proof, only issue was the TV reception lost signal on some channels during our stay. Not sure if that was cable provider fault or hotel equipment. The staff was very good however we checked in once with a not overly friendly front desk clerk. She would not allow us to check in at 10 am on a Sunday as no rooms available which I found hard to believe. All in all a great hotel but the food costs are so over the top as to be cliche. Who is paying 14 bucks for pancakes in a hotel restaurant? At least in Manhattan there are hundreds of options.”

• Good location without being too much in the center of things.
• The view from our room was not good at all.

“The Westin is a beautiful hotel right in the middle of all Times Square has to offer. The staff is very helpful and friendly. It was very easy to have our car safely parked. The location made it very easy for our family to see the sights and get to the shows very quickly. I only wish there could have been some way to secure tickets to shows without incurring a $50 per ticket fee. I believe this was separate from the hotel chain, just located in the lobby. Maybe a van as a taxi would be nice a few times a day from the hotel to key locations, of course for a fee. It cost our family $80 to see the World Trade Center site due to needing 2 cabs. It was a great family vacation!”

“A wonderful venue for the price. Our room had a nice view of the Hudson River. It was next to the elevator but was still very quiet. Close to Times Square and theaters. Modern decor. Emphasis on comfort with Westin bedding and duvets.”

• The free upgrade of our room to a deluxe, the Starbucks coffee in room and the view from our room.
• Could not request a late check-out because they were booked solid, but were allowed to leave bags with the lobby.

“The staff was very friendly, upgraded our room upon arrival which had a great view of the north part of Uptown Manhattan. The room was immaculate and looked brand new. Dark, quiet rooms at night with instant Starbucks and Tazo tea, as well as the USA Today in the morning. Location is unbelievable and this is definitely the place to stay if you want to be near Times Square/Broadway. TIP: Even if you remove something from the minibar and put it back, you will be charged for it (due to sensors in the fridge). However the front desk cleared me of charges when I explained I put a water that I bought in the place of a Gatorade for an hour.”

• Clean and quiet, a nice refuge from the noise and heat outside.
• Flushing of toilet sounded like a jet engine. Very loud.

“Room was very clean, beds were comfortable, excellent view on the 27th floor. They accommodated our request for double beds, and were very helpful with transportation back to the airport. We were able to walk to a Broadway show, and to several great restaurants, as well as the subway. It was a great value and just what we needed.”

• They focused on service excellence and provided free boarding pass printing in business centre. Clever.
• They charge a daily price for the fitness area.

“Very pleasant experience in the heart of Manhattan. Front desk staff was superb in recognizing that after sending us to 2 different rooms that were still not made up -- that a slightly larger room was in order, plus, without any prompting whatsoever, a $100 guest credit for use anywhere in the hotel. This started the visit on a high note which was maintained until the time we left after 3 nights. One additional note and presumably at some point most good hotels will simply provide free wireless -- however in this case, the business centre allows you to go online and check in with your airline and print your boarding pass. Very convenient and very helpful.”

• The location was excellent for easy access to restaurants, theatres, central park, etc. As a walker this was great.
• The bathroom counter was very narrow.

“It is a nice hotel, but some floors obviously need updating. The conveniences needed for a business traveler, like wireless internet and easy to access outlets were not available. Also, the bathroom had no counter space and for a multi day trip, this was a challenge.”

• The staff was courteous and helpful. They knew the city and were able to help us find where we wanted to go.
• It took a while to get our luggage that was stored. The refrigerator was full of expensive food. We would have liked an empty one for leftovers!

• The room was very upscale, cool colors, WONDERFUL bed, great view, very quiet, all stainless steel BR, and cool shower.
• The woman checking us in at the front desk could have been more pleasant- seemed like she was having a bad day.

“Westin at TSQ is clean, nice and seems only 4-5 years old. But the restaurant is very expensive, internet connection costs money while motel 6 doesn't charge for it. Concierge marks up the tickets to the activities without telling you unless you ask. Friendly staff try to make up for not so friendly ones.”

• The view, we were in a corner room and had windows all around us, it was nice!
• The staff could have been a little friendlier, but it wasn't horrible.

“This is a wonderful hotel no matter what your reason is to be traveling to New York. The rooms were big and comfortable. Nice size bathroom and awesome shower. Close to Subway and one block to Times Square. Nice experience.”

• Contemporary clean rooms with lots of space. Central location.
• Extra charges for internet use.

“Pros: Very spacious, room, slate bathroom complete with robe and dual showerheads. Large HD flat screen TV and desk area. Free use of coffeemaker and safe. Lots of storage space for travel clothes. Convenient Times Square location with a couple of secret entrances. Direct access to the theatres (just ask the concierge). Comfy beds. One block from Subway. Cons: Extra charge for internet, extra charge for gym. At least give me one of them for free! Very expensive for any room service, but that's to be expected. Just run downstairs to the street and get whatever you want, it's all open late!”

• The locations was great and the staff friendly. The shower head rocked!
• The small fridge was not cold and the items in it too expensive.

• Added charges for phone calls, etc that arent disclosed up front. You have to know to ask or wait and see on your bill.

“My boyfriend and I had a lovely few days at the Westin. The hotel was super quiet. We ate at the steak house one night and loved it. Great steak and crab Mac and cheese. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. They provided us with an extra fridge for cold drinks we bought on our own. The rooms were very room and the bed was HUGE and so very comfy. The bathroom was also very big with a double shower head. Next time shopping around for hotels we will definitely check out the Westin.”

“We arrived at the hotel early and our room was ready they even up graded our room when we got there. The hotel was in a great location, just a few blocks to time square. They have a great mexican rest. In the hotel along with a movie theatre. The rooms were just perfect and very clean. The room was big for a NYC hotel room. The staff at the hotel could not have been better.”

• Newer, clean hotel. Very nice decor and comfortable beds. Great location.
• This hotel charged for almost every "convenience" and the walls were so thin you could easily hear neighbors in the next room.

“Although centrally located, with nice, newer decor, and comfy beds, this "luxury" hotel doesn't mind charging extra for some of the conveniences that most of us expect when we travel-high-speed internet access in the room, internet access in the business PC center, etc. And there is no complimentary breakfast included. We can't even comprehend paying regular prices (around $382+/night) and then having to pay extra for everything else!”

“The Westin Times Square was located close to everything in Times Square but is on a side street not facing the main drag. The hotel was very clean, modern, and upscale. The heavenly bed was wonderful! The hotel also had a movie theatre in it. They didn't charge for bag storage like the hotel we stayed in the night before but they did charge for internet access. I would highly recommend this hotel.”

“Fantastic Times Square location. Outstanding pillow top beds. Due to a shortage of maids, we had to wait an hour for our room. Without asking, the hotel gave us a $60 food and beverage credit.”

• We had an awesome 44th floor corner room with windows looking north and east.
• I have nothing negative to say about the hotel.
