• The sound of the elevator going up and down. 2 people eating in the room cloud be easier.

• The staff was extremely friendly, accommodating, and welcoming.

“I didn't realize that the hotel is suite-only, so I was ecstatic to see how large the room was. It was bigger than my apartment, very unusual for NYC. Their pillow menu was very thorough and fun to browse through. I had wonderful night's sleeps each night, and was not bothered by traffic noise, which was no small feat, considering I was on the third floor, and right on the corner of 50th and Lexington. The turn-down service was thoughtful. I really enjoyed my stay.”

• Large beautiful suite with kitchenette.
• One elevator didn't work so going up or down was very time-consuming.

“The hotel personnel was accommodating and friendly. They were responsive to all our requests. It was close to many subway stations which made traveling very easy. The room was made up in the morning and the bed prepared in the evening. It was very fancy, comfortable, and pleasant to stay there.”

• Clean, location.
• Unable to accomodate with two beds. Stated they only have rooms with single beds in the hotel! Sounded strange.

“The location, service and quality of this hotel was excellent. My room had already been cleaned for the day and I made a mess as I was hurrying to go out that night. The maids came in for turn down while I was out and cleaned my room again and even cleared off my bed (including folding my messy clothes!) so I could fall into it when I returned back from my night out. I love that kind of service!”

• Location, access to public transport, well appointed and well equipped.
• I did not like the outside view from my windows.

“The Benjamin was a very well appointed hotel that was conveniently located in midtown Manhattan. The linens were exquisite and the room was well equipped with fridge, microwave, coffee maker and utensils.”

• Staff was very friendly, nice choice of pillows.
• The bathroom was very small and while it was clean it was a little outdated.

“The hotel has very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is very conveniently located close to Rockefeller center, Central Park and 5th avenue shopping as well as a 2 minute walk from the subway.”

• The rooms are a bit small.

“What stood out was the helpful staff. Very friendly. Also, the rooms were immaculate. Always appreciated after a tiring day in the city. The bar was relaxing.”

• Great staff, with clean, reasonably quiet rooms.
• High priced overnight parking, and slow service in the restaurant.

“Great location in the heart of Midtown, the Benjamin exceeded my expectations. The staff was very friendly, and weren't begging for tips. In fact, one staff member picked my shoes up one night to polish them and returned them within an hour, yet he would not let me tip him. When is the last time you've been to New York and had anyone at a hotel refuse a tip? I left 10 bucks for him when I checked out, anyway. The room was quiet, even though I was on the 3rd floor, facing 50th. The bed was firm and comfortable; the pillows each unique. The equipment in the fitness room was in good working order. I did find the restaurant to be a bit slow in service in the morning.”

• Great staff, great location.
• The refrigerator was so loud, that it was difficult to sleep. The room temperature was also difficult to control.

“The hotel is lovely and in a great location. I found most of the staff very friendly, although the doorman never seemed to remember if he had seen you just a few minutes ago. My only real complaints were that the mini bar/refrigerator was so old that the motor was extraordinarily loud and the temp was pretty warm so I couldn't keep any food in it and that the room temperature was difficult to control. It was 30 degrees outside, but I had to open my windows to keep a comfortable temperature in the room even with the heater turned off. They have a sleep concierge - which I should have taken advantage of since the noise and temperature were not optimal.”
