Richard from Portland,OR
“Very basic, clean enough but no real amenities. Average breakfast, terrible, industrial location. Too far from Times Square. Neighborhood feels dangerous at night.” Nov 24, 2009 by
Robert from Chapel Hill,NC
“Hotel staff was not very accommodating. Located in seedy part of NYC. Lots of construction in area. Long walks to Times Square.” Oct 12, 2009 by
Eric from Arlington,VA
“Being in town for a seminar in Time Square, this was a convenient and cheap hotel to stay at. Where there was a train close by, and odd smell in the building and cramped rooms, it was satisfying enough for my needs. I was happy staying there, especially for the price.” Oct 4, 2009 by
Valerio from College Park,MD
“This is a recently renovated hotel. It's clean and well-maintained. It best suits business travelers looking for a convenient location in NY. The surrounding area is under renovation/construction right now (Oct 2009) and when finished it will surely add lusted to this hotel with an improved location. The room I stayed was very small, but had all the fundamentals. It was very clean, and the bathroom was in excellent condition.” Sep 10, 2009 by
Hui from Palatine,IL “I got really bad bedbug attack at this Best Western.” Aug 24, 2009 by
olwyn from Quincy,MA
“clean, comfortable, good location, value for money.” Jun 21, 2009 by
Igor from Potomac,MD
“Good for business traveler.” Apr 23, 2009 by
from West Sayville,NY
“This is a convenient and economical New York hotel for someone who intends to spend a lot of time at Javits Center. It's clean and comfortable, and offers a free continental breakfast. That event was very crowded, so much so that I went elsewhere to eat. The hotel is built over railroad tracks; however the trains did not wake me up, even though I was on a lower floor.” Apr 23, 2009 by
Rachel from Philadelphia,PA
“Fine for the one night that we needed a place to stay in Midtown, but not comfortable in any sense of the word.” Apr 18, 2009 by
Harold from Babylon,NY
“Overall, I found this hotel to be a great option for those business travellers who wish to stay at both a comfortable hotel, and have quick and easy access to entertainment options.” Feb 25, 2009 by
Super-Kat from Saint Ann,MO
“The hotel was tucked neatly into the area next to a taxi repair company and the horse drawn carriage stables, making for a wonderful mix of big city and working farm. The proximity to local attractions and transportation channels made for very interesting bi-ped travels. As I accidentally tried to walk to Jersey through the Lincoln Tunnel on my way to my hotel from Times Square after grabbing a slice of Pizza from Ray's.” Jan 18, 2009 by
Joseph from Beverly Hills,CA
“The hotel is in an industrial area - far from any signs of civilization. There is no access to public transportation without a 15-20 minute walk. The room was small. The bed was two twins side-by-side, and I fell through the middle during the night. The TV had static on half the channels showing. The WiFi did not work most of the time. Very few towels provided, close to no amenities (soaps etc) provided. This is a truly budget hotel, no more than 1 star. I would not stay here again.” Dec 30, 2008 by
ChristopherJ from Ottawa,Canada
“This hotel was well situated in Manhattan close to Port Authority. The hotel is showing signs of aging and poor upkeep. The fire alarm was going off the first day every ten minutes and interfering with the elevator. The room was very basic and small. Curtains did not close and were not functional so we were unable to close them. The heater was electric and was switched off every daily by housekeeping while we were away, resulting in a frigid room upon our return every evening. The continental breakfast was very basic and unsatisfying. The hotel management did not restock items as the ran out and removed food promptly as 10am approached. There was one toaster for the entire hotel! They should reconsider the continental breakfast.” Dec 7, 2008 by
MIchelle from Mechanicsburg,PA
“Good for a quick trip and a cheap place to stay in NYC. Most attractions could easily and safely be walked to. We only paid $30 for parking for the 25 hours we were there. Don't expect luxury, just necessities!” Nov 8, 2008 by
“Clean and well kept but with an unhelpful staff.” Oct 28, 2008 by
Rob
“For the budget conscience traveler, the Best Western across from the convention center is a viable alternative to other more expensive choices nearby. Don't expect much beyond a small clean room and cheap offerings for breakfast.

“Acceptable for the price & very convenient to restaurants and metro system.” Sep 17, 2008 by
Fabrizio
“Price was good. Bed was too big compared the space in the room. Good to have safe for free. Furniture in thel hotel are very poor. Found bugs on my bed.

Emily from Brooklyn, NY
“I would not recommend this hotel. Its location, although in mid-town NYC is not very convenient and the area is not at all nice since it is between 10th and 11th avenues. Our room did not look clean; especially the comforter/pillows. We forgot something in our room and the staff was not at all helpful about it. This is my first disappointing experience.” Sep 13, 2008 by
Chuck from Richmond, IN
“Small room. On west side of Manhattan near Highway. 9A, so it is easy to get to/from, if driving from/to up-state New York. A decent less expensive hotel for business travelers, but cabs recommended, and you must walk a couple of blocks to hail one. Parking is in a commercial lot 3-4 blocks from the hotel. My room had a 24-hour car repair shop outside the window, but with the window A/C running, I was able to sleep ok.” Sep 11, 2008 by
Priyesh from Mississauga, ON CA
“Hotel was good, only a couple of blocks away from subway and from Times Square. Located close to many restaurants and shops. There is a Hell's Kitchen Flea Market on Sunday mornings only 1 block north of the hotel.” Sep 11, 2008 by
Simone from Vienna, VA
“Regarding the price, the hotel was a good choice, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was included and okay. The breakfast room was not very comfortable or cozy though! The location was for me perfect, close to Time Square and Metro Stops. What I didn't like is the construction site and the repair shop across the road. everything else is fine if you are not looking for a honeymoon atmosphere but a clean place to stay.” Sep 9, 2008 by
Fred from Duluth, GA
“This is the worst hotel. The location right near The Lincoln Tunnel, the stable of horses next door. The train noises across the street. The room was so small as you could not even turn around in it.” Sep 9, 2008 by
Moshe from Sharon, MA
“The kind of hotel you would expect for a 2 star hotel, the major detration is the location which did not feel safe at night.” Sep 5, 2008 by
Don from Wilton Manors, FL
“This is a new facility. On the negative side, the hotel is in the middle of nowhere. There are literally no buildings on the left or right! Fortunately, you're just a $5 cab ride to Time Square. You have to step down 8 stair from the street to the lobby. Very bizarre. The rooms are Manhattan size. 1/2 the size of rooms in other cities but adequate. They have a fantastic breakfast service from 7 - 10am and the beds are WONDERFUL.” Sep 4, 2008 by
Mitch from Hallandale, FL
“Hotel is too far 15 minutes walk from closest Subway station on 42nd or 34th St. Located in a bad neighborhood (Hell's Kitchen).” Sep 3, 2008 by
Lockyer from Orleans, ON CA
“This hotel was reasonably clean, and service was prompt and efficient. It is a little out of the way, but fine for those who enjoy walking.” Sep 3, 2008 by
Kevin from Tulsa, OK
“The hotel was too far from any life, a noisy 24hr taxi mechanics shop directly across the street, very cramped rooms with next to no room for moving. Oversized armor that took up all the spare space.” Sep 3, 2008 by
Morley from Toronto, ON CA
“Overall, this is a great little hotel tucked away on 39th between 11th and 10th, which is a nice walk to the heart of Manhattan. The staff is friendly and the beds very comfortable. If you're looking for luxury, this is not the hotel for you. However, if you're looking for a great location at an equally great price, then I would highly recommend it.” Sep 3, 2008 by
Bette from Philadelphia, PA
“This hotel had great staff. The parking was not convenient -- about 5 blocks away. The room was narrow but the beds were comfortable and the room was clean. Overall, a good experience for the money.” Sep 1, 2008 by
Kathy from Winnipeg, MB CA
“The hotel is tucked away on a side street a couple of blocks from the harbor and within walking distance of most major attractions. It is bright and clean and front desk staff is always alert and welcoming. The rooms and hallways are quite small. The continental breakfast is certainly adequate with cereals, breads, juices, coffee, fruit and sometimes hard-boiled eggs. Overall, quite nice.” Sep 1, 2008 by
J-F from Montreal, QC CA
“Rather central, walking distance to Times Square and Subway stations, this hotel is well located. I would say this hotel is a suitable place to stay for travelers who plan to fully enjoy the city and merely need a bed and a roof over their heads.” Aug 31, 2008 by
Chris from Vero Beach, MA
“The hotel is small and so are the rooms. There is absolutely no parking. Friendly staff. Decent breakfast. Clean rooms. The location is a double edge sword in that it is close to a lot of activities but also close to an adult club and taxi garage.” Aug 28, 2008 by
Judah from Boltimore, MD
“When we checked in there was no water, we were told it was temporary but besides a very short period of a drizzle of water there was none. We could not shower or brush our teeth, even though we drove in from new Hampshire and were headed for important meetings.” Aug 25, 2008 by
Rizvan from Overland Park, KS
“The hotel location was convenient customer service was good, because of New York. They just looking for money for room and hallway needs to shampoo, my first time in New York Hotel I was expecting more.” Aug 19, 2008 by
Mike from Steelville, MO
“A long walk from the Manhattan attractions, but not long enough to justify a cab. Small room, one ice machine for entire hotel, no wireless. Expensive for the value received, but that's Manhattan.” Aug 18, 2008 by
Bob from Bangor, ME
“The customer service in this hotel is terrible. The next day when we prepared to go to bed we discovered they had shorted us one sheet for the cot. I attempted to speak with the manager before we checked out, but he wasn't available. I left contact information with the desk, but never heard back. I called several times, leaving messages each time, and have yet to get a call back.” Aug 15, 2008 by
Jane from Portland, OR
“Very small room, two twin beds shoved together so tightly, could barely get covers un-tucked. One elevator, we always used stairs after waiting for space upon our arrival to take luggage up to our room. Breakfast had satisfactory offerings, but no place to sit and eat. Felt some staff only interested when I told about bug in room, otherwise pretty uninvolved.” Aug 15, 2008 by
Liz from Takoma Park, MD
“Excellent for my purposes--good price, outstanding location, very quiet, and friendly to my 9 year old grandson and me. I would go there again.” Aug 12, 2008 by
Meghan from Hartford, CT
“This hotel definitely exceeded our expectations based on the star level at which we purchased the room. A pleasant surprise! Rooms were small of course, because it is New York, very clean and the staff was very nice.” Aug 11, 2008 by
Gail from Port Crane, NY
“Hotel was fine for a short, overnight stay - within walking distance of some sites and close enough to the Subway for trips further a field. Construction on either side of the hotel meant parking, even to just check in, was pretty bad - jockeyed with a dump-truck and taxi cab drivers taking a break right in front of the hotel's front door - no, they weren't waiting for fares -loitering was more like it! And the hotel parking is somewhat of a hike - two blocks up and over. But the hotel was clean and the beds were comfortable.” Aug 11, 2008 by
Jo A. from Ottawa, ON CA
“The hotel was fine, smaller rooms than one would expect at a best Western. I would consider staying there again.” Aug 7, 2008 by
Phyllis from Oakville, ON CA
“The bed is very comfortable, however the hotel is not very appealing, from outside and inside. Location is quite near to times square, approx 10-15min walk. It's not a "happening" area but if you have a budget and still wait to be close to times square, this hotel is a fit. Other, the complementary breakfasts are quite good, a lot of selections.” Aug 6, 2008 by
Peterson from Severn, MD
“Overall, I was very pleased. From the outside the building I was a bit apprehensive at first. But once I entered, the staff were very courteous, the room was very clean (I pulled the sheets and mattress back, checked under the bed, the bathroom, window seal) room was very clean. My room was literally right next to the elevator and assumed I would get no sleep. I did not hear a thing all night until my cell phone went off to alert me to go to breakfast. I would definitely be staying here again on my next trip next month!” Aug 4, 2008 by
Doug from Hanover, PA
“Though clean and friendly, the rooms were very small and quite cramped and not the level I asked. Therefore I will be recommending not.” Aug 1, 2008 by
Andy from Ottawa, ON CA
“This hotel is a bargain in Mid town, but is located near a strip club and travelers may feel unsafe walking at night.” Jul 31, 2008 by
Verhanika from Tallahassee, FL
“Although it is a bit removed from where we would've liked to stay, the room was very clean and nice, the staff was friendly and we got an excellent night of sleep. Although, if you are sensitive to light, be sure to be in a room away from the east since they only use sheer curtains to cover the windows.” Jul 28, 2008 by
Craig from York, ME
“Industrial area, but the room was nice.” Jul 27, 2008 by
Carroll from Red Lion, PA
“Better than average Best Western Hotel. Clean. Well maintained. Small rooms. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great value. Good continental breakfast.” Jul 25, 2008 by
Andrew from El Cajon, CA
“This hotel was a little off the beaten path, but about 4 blocks from Penn Station, Empire State Building and Times Square and right across the street from the Convention Center. Not a very attractive area, but centrally located. Small room, but excellent tempurpedic memory foam mattress. Staff was friendly and willing to help with anything we asked. Continental breakfast was every morning between 8 and 10 am. This is a good no-frills hotel perfect for business people or casual travelers on a low budget. For a young family I would recommend something a little closer to Broadway unless you want to use cabs or do a lot of walking.”
