  • It was my husband's 40th birthday a very special occasion. He is from New York, he had family members affected by the world trade center collapse.
  • Being next door to the world trade center construction site would have ruined his birthday.

“Complete disappointment.”

  • It was my second stay at this hotel and I feel that both times were excellent stays.
  • The lobby's bathroom needed tidying up, but otherwise everything was great.

“I would definitely recommend this Hilton. Though I have only stayed there twice, I think it's consistent with its service, cleanliness, and comfort. Though it's location is suited more to the business person, it is also convenient for the guest to sightsee and shop with close access to the Subway system, frequent availability of taxies and walking distance of Canal Street and Mulberry Street.”

“I stayed one weekend night and fortunately there was no construction work going on that night. The hotel was otherwise good in every respect, except for the parking situation. There is underground garage parking, but 30 min wait to get your car out of the garage.”

“The hotel was clean, and fresh, but unremarkable. It seemed like a good business hotel. The staff was not particularly friendly or helpful, with the exception of the lovely man in the parking garage. It seemed to cater almost exclusively to the business crowd. Maybe it was just the New York-rude thing?”

  • The views were amazing. And being by the towers was very surreal.
  • The lobby is not very big and one man at the front desk was rude. The other people tried to make up for him, though.

“The hotel is beautiful with amazing views. Staff is mostly friendly. We only had one incident with the front desk when we first arrived. The other front desk staff saw this and immediately tried to make up for it. It is in a great location. Wonderful deli around the corner and great shopping near by. I can't begin to describe what it is like to look out your hotel window and see the site where the towers were and those men working day and night to rebuild and honor those lost. It is truly an amazing place. And the noise level from the construction is virtually nonexistent. We could not hear it at all from our hotel room. The street is messy from construction, but being in that place and witnessing the loss suffered and the work being done to try to rebuild outweighs the untidiness. Truly a great experience.”

  • We liked the location, general amenities, room and furnishings and service.
  • Although we expected it, noise from surrounding construction sites was distracting.

“This is a fine prestige hotel, with amenities particularly suited to the business traveler. The Millennium Hilton has an excellent location in the Financial District of NYC. The front-desk staff was courteous and helpful. For those who want a dramatic view of the ground zero site, they will certainly see that scene from their hotel windows. Although there's not a great deal of shopping nearby, hotel guests do have a short walk to Battery Park.”

“If you want to experience New York almost like a local, the Millenium Hilton is a good choice. Close to the financial district and the southern neighborhoods, with great rooms and good views, the Hilton also stands right next to what is now one of the most famous landmarks in the city - Ground Zero. Our room overlooked the construction and even though not much has been built yet, one can not help feeling slightly overwhelmed when looking down at the scene.”

The hotel was supposed to be in Soho and was not and was removed from everything. I will never stay there again. I had to beg for 2 double beds instead of a king and they told me they were sold out which was not true because they came up with a room for me immediately.”
