• Excellent location.
• Parking was very inconvenient and difficult to find.

“This is a lovely hotel in a great location, close to the subway, the Brooklyn Bridge and lovely views of the Hudson. However, self-parking was extremely inconvenient and difficult to get to and off-site. We drove around for the better part of thirty minutes just trying to find the parking facility, which put a damper on an otherwise flawless stay.”

• Excellent service when the original room assigned was not ready. The staff apologized & put us in an excellent view room.
• Poor selection of quality food at Happy hour / Bellman knew more than concierge.

“Would highly recommend for business or leisure travel. Excellent front desk staff and very professional. Rooms are very clean and spacious, they are environmentally conscious, and the beds and linens were fresh and oh so comfortable!”

• Rooms were very neat and tidy.
• The refrigerator had items which would be added to your bill if taken out. I think there should be place to keep our food/water in the fridge as well.

“Very nice location, friendly service. I would like to see improvement in the complimentary breakfast. We went for breakfast around 9 am on Sunday, which isn't late. I think Sunday breakfast lasts till 11 am. The hot food items were cold, and quality of the hot items could be better (house fries were cold, bland, scrambled eggs were also cold).”

• Friendly helpful staff in an upscale hotel located in a beautiful location of NY.

“The hotel is well designed, clean and attractive. Our room was spacious and wonderfully quiet for a big city hotel. We felt very welcome and the staff were very courteous, a nice thing for a couple of Southerners!”

• free internet acsess, free drinks in bar from 5-7pm every day, washing machine and dryer available

“The hotel was very comfortable. The room was large and tidy.There is a business centre with 8 computers and free internet and printing. Every night between 5-7pm there are free drinks at the bar (be careful as they dont pour standard drinks). Breakfast was included in the package there was a large variety of options.”

• Plate from other room left in hallway for 2 days.

“Very good location right next to World Trade Center. Staff is friendly and helpful. Other guests in hotel seemed classy and respectful. Breakfast was free and very good with a buffet line and cook-to-order omelet line. Free alcoholic beverages in the early evening.”

• A great
  two rooms, two beds, two TV's. Nice bathroom.
• Buffet breakfast had too many people. That was a big turn off.

“Arrived at 6pm. Staff efficient. Room clean and tidy; plenty of active elevators. Short walk (maybe 1 1/2 miles to China Town, Little Italy and close to Brooklyn Bridge. Fresh Fields right across street and moving theaters in same building.”

• I loved the buffet breakfast, location.

“Everything is great. I cannot wait to go back. We enjoyed it so much we are going to go much more often. Very nice staff, helpful and patient. There were sufficient elevators so the wait was not too long. Superb experience which made negotiating in NYC much more pleasant.”

• The hot breakfast that came with the room was a wonderful addition.
• I really can't think of anything.

“This was a very nice hotel, convenient to the subway and close to everything on the south end of Manhatten. We walked to the World Trade Center site, to South St. Seaport and to the Brooklyn Bridge. Great exercise, as well.”

• Needed a second lamp by the bed.

“This is a great spot. Next to Battery City Park. Nice view of the Hudson. Some nice public art in the hotel. Rooms are nice sized and comfortable.”

• Complimentary breakfast - although quite busy.
• One concierge was extraordinarily rude and unhelpful.

“Bellmen were great, check-in/out was easy, room worked well for 3 girlfriends traveling together. Unfortunately, the concierge recommended a little diner that gave two of the three food poisoning. When I mentioned this to tall bald concierge he was arrogant and rude. Later I went to get help from the same concierge to get me a Broadway ticket since my friends were still sick. However at 5 till 6pm he was done for the day and refused to help me. Such a huge disappointment. I complained to the front desk, but she didn't ask that he help me.”

• The rooms were large compared to other hotel rooms in NY.
• The distance to major NYC attractions like 42nd street.

“The hotel was beautiful and had a nice view of the Hudson. Check-in was easy and fast. The hotel staff was friendly and able to answer any questions. The rooms were large and the bathroom was a good size as well. It was also so clean that my boyfriend filled it up and relaxed in it on the first night. However, there were a couple of downsides. On the day of check-out we extended our stay and our room key was deactivated and we had to go back downstairs after already going all the way up for them to fix it. Our room faced a building that is being renovated, try to get a room in the front of the hotel. Even though the hotel is only a few blocks from the E line it is at the opposite end of Manhattan, away from were all the sites and attractions are. If you plan on going shopping, plan to make a couple of trips back and forth from the stores or carry around bags all day. Overall our stay was great and I would stay here again. The complimentary breakfast in the morning and cocktail in the evening is a definite plus.”

• Suite good size, much better than some NY hotels.
• Walls too thin, able to hear every word from next rooms.

“Friendly and helpful staff. Room clean and functional, only downside was walls too thin between rooms. Would help if refrigerator available. We are returning for a second stay in May. Did not encounter too many problems getting cab back from mid town. Breakfast, ok but only had this once during the 5 day stay as too busy after 9 am.”

• Our room was as far away from the lobby as you could get.

“Clean, modern hotel across from Battery City Park in downtown Manhattan. The included made-to-order breakfast was great (go early to avoid large crowds). Only a 10-minute walk from the nearest subway station.”

• The suite was lovely, the free breakfast, terrific and friendly and responsive.
• Arriving, single woman with bag, no help with the door or coming into lobby.

“It was for the majority of the experience really very nice and I appreciated and enjoyed the free breakfast. Restaurant staff was wonderful all around. The room was great and comfortable. The lobby is an odd configuration and requires a little direction if you've never been there before and it werent forth coming. I'd go back in a minute though.”

• Clean and spacious room.
• Would be nice if there was a pool gym closed at 6 pm on weekend.

“The hotel was lovely. Clean and spacious. The area for a weekend outing was okay. The area mostly a business area . There were not many restaurants open in the area. There is a movie theater attached to the hotel and a Apple Bee restaurant next door. The continental breakfast was excellent.”

• The hotel was clean and spacious for ny, although it falls below some of the other embassy suites that I have visited.
• The bathroom had a plumbing issue that my husband had to repair the night that we arrived.

“Although the rooms were clean and relatively spacious, the hotel is really not worth the price point. Other than providing breakfast, there aren't any amenities or area attractions to justify paying this much for a room even in NY.”

“We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at embassy suites nick. I particularly like the pillows. Most hotel pillows are too "fat". The personnel we dealt with were pleasant and helpful. The rooms were equipped nicely. It was nice having a microwave and frig handy. The coffee in the room was very good. A bit too strong for me in the restoration. Overall, we were extremely pleased with the embassy suites hotel.”

• Large suites with fantastic free made-to-order breakfast every morning. Plus happy hour was a great touch! Nice views of the Hudson.
• Location isn't the greatest, but still decent. About 10 min walk to subway by WTC. Close to great shopping though!

“We were upgraded for free because our room was not available when we arrived - which was great! We had a wonderful corner suite over looking Ground Zero and the Financial Buildings. Construction across the street was a bit loud in the morning, but we had to get up anyways. Breakfast and Happy hour are fantastic! Location was a bit out of the ways, but it is near great shopping! Century 21 down the road and a DSW right in the building!! That was great! Highly recommended - such clean, huge rooms at a great price! Plus staff was very friendly and courteous.”

• The room was well appointed.
• The restaurants had something to be desired.

“The hotel itself was very clean and well appointed. However, while it is probably a good location within the city for the weekday business traveler, the area had very little going on over the weekend for fun seekers. In fairness, there was always the subway to get to other parts of the city but being pregnant I wanted to stay nearby to eat. This unfortunately meant dining at the mediocre Chevy's restaurant.”

• Fantastic facilities made available (health club, restaurants, etc).
• A bit far (but still walking distance) from closest subway station.

“Comfort was outstanding; room appearance was good, only issue was horribly stained sofa. Also room service meal (not ordered by us) was left in hallway outside our door for over 12 hours (smelled quite bad after sitting for so long, luckily we couldn't smell it in the room, only in the hallway.) All things considered, these two things weren't too bad & the aside from them the experience was close to ideal!”

• Restaurants and retail located in lobby, on the water.
• The valet stole the change our of my ashtray.

“Great hotel in a bad location. Valet parking is $55 per night. The attendant took $20 worth of change from my car. being just minutes from the world trade center site, the location was uncomfortable for me since I was with my young children. Although this might be considered perfect for some travelers, the rooms were clean and spacious although the elevator is not in close a proximity to any of the rooms. All in all, it is a good hotel gone bad.”

• Room layout - suite style - was perfect for travel with a teenager.
• Prefer less contemporary decor in common areas - but all was functional.

“I typically prefer a more traditional vs. Contemporary setting, and I found the lobby and lounge area a bit stark rather than comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised to find the central hallways welcoming with an open atrium feel; and, the suite was attractive, comfortable, and cleans with a functional layout.”

“This is a great hotel if you don't plan to spend any time in the room. The location is great if you want to be downtown. Very safe neighborhood. The rooms are not fancy. The breakfast buffet was overcrowded at 10 am. The elevators were horrible. Some of the other patrons looked a little scary. The staff was fantastic.”

• Chaotic herd with big lines for breakfast. Phones didn't work.

“Location is good; valet parking threatened to be a problem (standard wait is 20 minutes, they told us 45 minutes, but then car was there in 10 minutes). Room phones didn't work reliably--couldn't reach front desk, sometimes couldn't send/receive intra-hotel calls. Rooms are well appointed. The breakfast line was hard to take (Sunday morning). Good experience overall.”

• The view of the water from any of the floors.
• The clock radio did not work and the TV would not let one purchase music either!

“Other then the fact that I really wanted to listen to music everything was great. The front desk eventually sent up a new radio after 30 minutes.”

• The suite room was an excellent experience for me and my finance. We enjoyed the amenities along with the room, fitness center exceptional.

• Too far from times square and mid town, too far from subway.

“It was a great hotel and friendly informative staff. For our purposes, it was far from time square where we were visiting our son, and quite a distance from the subway - a very long hike late at night, and not well lit. But the hotel itself was impeccable, not a complaint.”

“Nice size suite, decorated very cheaply. Complete breakfast and happy hour included. Not a good location if you are there to see the city. Location is not close to subway, or shopping. It probably is a good location for a longer term business traveler working in lower Manhattan. Next to ground zero which may be disturbing to some.”
