• The rooms were very bright airy and attractive.
• The location was too far from the subway and parking rates were ridiculous.

“I very much enjoyed my stay and think the hotel compensates nicely for the poor location for leisure travelers (for business travelers/Wall Streeters the location is just fine). The price however was too high given the location.”

“It was more than we expected for a 3.5 star hotel. Friendly service. We asked for non-smoking, king bed, water view, suite got it all for 1/5 of listed price! Free happy hr and breakfast saved us lots of cash and gave us an opportunity to enjoy hotel for more than it's room. ”

• Spacious for a 3-star hotel.
• Hotel mistakenly charged me $400, had to clear up with credit card company on the back end. lots of trouble.

“Good price for the amount of room and hotel class but the hotel charge me twice $200 for no reason. I was only able to get it fixed because I happen to call my credit card company for something else while I was in NYC. Otherwise, I would have left New York not knowing about this mistake and clear it up on the back-end.”

• Unfriendly staff at check-in.

“Had a view of Ground-Zero, very interesting. Room was large and clean with 2 TVs and a nice shower. Plenty of towels. Would definitely recommend this hotel from travelers from abroad- easy access to the E train and other transportation. The complimentary made to order breakfast (omelets and pancake bar) was very much appreciated.”

“A nice hotel in a good location, but watch out for the valet parking. It took two and a half hours to get my car back. The hotel reversed the charges for the parking (which was $55 for one night), but still an unacceptable performance.”

• Embassy always has DIRTY rooms. Its gross. Takes away from any of the amenities if the rooms are so dirty. I never understand why its true about all.

• Not very close to public transportation.

“Excellent hotel featured on Donald Trumps show The Apprentice. The rooms were extra big unlike other hotels where you basically get a bedroom. This hotel had a living room and a separate bedroom. The atmosphere was great. Between 5-7pm, there are free drinks and snacks on the 2nd floor and there was a free buffet breakfast. Downstairs from the hotel were many restaurants, a movie theater and a DSW shoe store.”

• Room smelled of stale cigarettes, furniture was grimy and dirty.

“Not the best location as there isn't much going on around it. You need a cab to get around any place and if it's late night, you are out of luck. Hotel itself isn't the most comfortable either. Best feature is the free buffet breakfast in the morning. Overall, you could probably get more for your money elsewhere.”

• Large suite for downtown NYC and the complimentary full buffet breakfast was terrific.
• My room window faced nothing but construction and was unsightly.

“If you don't mind being a bit removed from the heart of NYC this is the hotel for you. You will get a large suite with comfortable beds, pillows and linens. The best asset is the full buffet breakfast with made to order omelette's, pancakes, etc all FREE with your room price. You will have a NYSC gym in the hotel and a movie theater attracted as well. What more comfort could you ask for!!”

• UNBELIEVABLE rooms for NYC!! HUGE! Great views! Emasculate!
• Everything was great, but cheaper parking! $55/24 hours YIKES!

“From the moment we pulled up to the valet to the check in, everything was beyond expectations! Beautiful views of cruise ships on the river and great ambiance! Who can beat a managers reception from 5-7 with complimentary cocktails (full branded bar!) and appetizers, and a cook to order breakfast for free in the AM! Everything from a fruit/yogurt/cereal bar, hot buffet, pancake station, and cook to order omelets/waffle line!! We've stayed in more than 30 hotels in NYC combined and this is by far the best for the $. Only the Ritz was better!”

“Location is beautiful (right along the water) it is quiet for New York, but walk just a few blocks and you are in SOHO. Nice restaurants and bars in the area and great shopping. I will definitely stay here again.”

• Very courteous staff; lovely rooms and layout; free happy hour.
• Inescapable panoramic view of Ground Zero.

“Everything about this hotel was very nice: lovely architecture, nice location downtown in the financial district, very courteous staff, free happy hour, free gym. However, our room had a panoramic view of Ground Zero, which is probably what necessitates the free happy hours. It was extremely depressing and upsetting. Otherwise it was a great hotel, an absolutely terrible vibe. It was bad enough that I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, even with the amenities.”

“Typical Embassy Suite hotel in a NYC financial district setting, but west on the river. Reasonable access to public transportation. Good quality facility, great hot breakfast. Comfortable suites. Family friendly.”

• Very spacious for NY hotel. Staff was extremely helpful with directions. Hospitality room was wonderful surprise.
• Four blocks from nearest subway. Not bad during the day but would not recommend late at night.

“This hotel is located in Battery City by the Hudson River. This is in the heart of the financial district so it is great for business travelers. The hotel is beautiful (and clean). Rooms are spacious and staff helpful. The only drawback was the distance to the subway stop. Closest subway was four blocks which is not bad during the day but late at night I would take a taxi. I would rate the hotel and service 10 out of 10!!! You get so much more room and amenities for the price of some of the four star hotels.”

• I loved having a playground close by and breakfast was good.
• We needed to walk about 4 blocks to the subways.

“Our stay was very pleasant. There are several family type restaurants within the block, there was a wonderful playground across the street and a wonderful path for running and walking along the waterfront. I loved being close to the river. We enjoyed being in the quieter part of NYC so for our family, the location was great.”

• Noise level from central atrium was disturbing at times.

“Great location in the financial district is a must for value & convenience. Located on the Hudson, with great views. There were open spaces & breathing room, yet a short walk or cab ride to Century 21, West Village, Tribeac & SoHo. Noise level in the rooms was not terrible, yet you could hear sounds at night. Good sized suites, but had nor real "kitchen".Good value, I'd definitely stay there again.”

• It's 4 blocks from the metro, hard to find stuff after 10 PM.

• Absolutely nothing! Perfect booking.

“Staff is courteous and resourceful. Thanks to the front desk clerk, I did not get a ticket on my car. He was honest when I asked if I could park near the hotel. I had to park several blocks away, but anything is better than a NYC parking ticket. Breakfast was much more than I expected. Room in perfect condition.”

• I thought the complementary breakfast was wonderful.
• Getting to park and check in upon arrival was tough because of limited space in front of hotel.

“I was very pleased with my stay at this hotel. It was clean and conveniently located by the River. The breakfast was very good, not the usual continental that most hotels have. I would stay here again in a minute.”

• Far from public transportation and cigarette smoke drifted in from other rooms.

• Clean and modern design, regal cinemas and restaurants on the same building.
• The front desk is awfully unfriendly, no smile.

“Facilities inside and outside room are good. Cinemas, restaurants, DSW shoes store in the same building. Housekeeping is good. Complimentary breakfast is good. Location is ok. Separate living area and bedroom. Comfortable large bathroom. Front desk is not friendly (no smile and no greetings). No soundproof in room connector doors. Far from Subways. $10 for 24 hours internet in your room is too expensive. $1 for local calls is ridiculous. No fridge for your own stuff.”

• The free continental breakfast with omelets made to order and the breakfast buffet.
• There is a $10 a day charge for Internet use in the room.

“The hotel was close to ground 0, the subway and many shops. It is in the Financial District of Soho. In addition to the complementary breakfast, it has a mix and mingle every night with one free drink. The suite is great for a family. There are two TVs and a pull out sofa for the kids. We were able to close the door to our room without locking it. The view was breathtaking.”
