• Fantastic facilities made available (health club, restaurants, etc).
• A bit far (but still walking distance) from closest subway station.

“Comfort was outstanding; room appearance was good, only issue was horribly stained sofa. Also room service meal (not ordered by us) was left in hallway outside our door for over 12 hours (smelled quite bad after sitting for so long, luckily we couldn't smell it in the room, only in the hallway.) All things considered, these two things weren't too bad & the aside from them the experience was close to ideal!”

• Restaurants and retail located in lobby, on the water.
• The valet stole the change our of my ashtray.

“Great hotel in a bad location. Valet parking is $55 per night. The attendant took $20 worth of change from my car. being just minutes from the world trade center site, the location was uncomfortable for me since I was with my young children. Although this might be considered perfect for some travelers, the rooms were clean and spacious although the elevator is not in close a proximity to any of the rooms. All in all, it is a good hotel gone bad.”

• It was clean, neat, and organized. The buffet breakfast was good for a family.
• No problems.

“This was a nice, clean, and convenient hotel for lower Manhattan. There was a simple cocktail hour in the evening and a nice breakfast in the morning that were included. The work out facilities was excellent.”

• Room layout - suite style - was perfect for travel with a teenager.
• Prefer less contemporary decor in common areas - but all was functional.

“I typically prefer a more traditional vs. Contemporary setting, and I found the lobby and lounge area a bit stark rather than comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised to find the central hallways welcoming with an open atrium feel; and, the suite was attractive, comfortable, and cleans with a functional layout.”

• Breakfast buffet was too crowded and elevators.

“This is a great hotel if you don't plan to spend any time in the room. The location is great if you want to be downtown. Very safe neighborhood. The rooms are not fancy. The breakfast buffet was overcrowded at 10 am. The elevators were horrible. Some of the other patrons looked a little scary. The staff was fantastic.”

• Chaotic herd with big lines for breakfast. Phones didn't work.

“Location is good; valet parking threatened to be a problem (standard wait is 20 minutes, they told us 45 minutes, but then car was there in 10 minutes). Room phones didn't work reliably--couldn't reach front desk, sometimes couldn't send/receive intra-hotel calls. Rooms are well appointed. The breakfast line was hard to take (Sunday morning). Good experience overall.”

• The clock radio did not work and the TV would not let one purchase music either!

“Other then the fact that I really wanted to listen to music everything was great. The front desk eventually sent up a new radio after 30 minutes.”

• The suite room was an excellent experience for me and my finance. We enjoyed the amenities along with the room, fitness center exceptional.

• New hotel construction across the street, parking should be free.

“Noisy kids in the room next door could hear them until midnight, but that could happen anywhere. Room was clean and well stocked. Staffs were friendly and knowledgeable.”

“It was a great hotel and friendly informative staff. For our purposes, it was far from time square where we were visiting our son, and quite a distance from the subway - a very long hike late at night, and not well lit. But the hotel itself was impeccable, not a complaint.”

“Nice size suite, decorated very cheaply. Complete breakfast and happy hour included. Not a good location if you are there to see the city. Location is not close to subway, or shopping. It probably is a good location for a longer term business traveler working in lower Manhattan. Next to ground zero which may be disturbing to some.”

• It was so clean and organized. The staff was wonderful.
• The location is a little out of the way. It is difficult to get a taxi back to the hotels location.

“I would stay at this hotel again. It is a wonderful conference center and the service is excellent. The location is difficult, however, to get a taxi to travel back to unless you go to brad way and west end avenue.”

• The evening reception and breakfast.
• Too far from subway.

“This is the second time in five months I have stayed here. I love it. Although it is not convenient to some of the things I do while in the city, it is worth the expense of taxis and walks to the subway. The hotel has beautiful views and the rooms are bigger than any other I have seen in nay. I will definitely stay here again.”

• Location isn't that convenient for the subway.

“Very nice hotel. There isn't much right around the hotel, and the subway isn't all that convenient. Great though if you don't mind taking cabs everywhere. A free breakfast is included.”

• Not convenient to public transportation, bed too small.

“I think it is one of the nicer embassy suites, but it really is not convenient to public transportation. The free breakfast is a draw, but we were never able to make use of the drink coupons. Bed was comfortable, but small, would have preferred queen size bed. Could hear talking of other guests in next suite though.”

• The rooms were very bright airy and attractive.
• The location was too far from the subway and parking rates were ridiculous.

“I very much enjoyed my stay and think the hotel compensates nicely for the poor location for leisure travelers (for business travelers/Wall Streeters the location is just fine). The price however was too high given the location.”

“It was more than we expected for a 3.5 star hotel. Friendly service. We asked for non-smoking, king bed, water view, suite got it all for 1/5 of listed price! Free happy hr and breakfast saved us lots of cash and gave us an opportunity to enjoy hotel for more than it's room. ”

• Spacious for a 3-star hotel.
• Hotel mistakenly charged me $400, had to clear up with credit card company on the back end. lots of trouble.

“Good price for the amount of room and hotel class but the hotel charge me twice $200 for no reason. I was only able to get it fixed because I happen to call my credit card company for something else while I was in NYC. Otherwise, I would have left New York not knowing about this mistake and clear it up on the back-end.”

“Had a view of Ground-Zero, very interesting. Room was large and clean with 2 TVs and a nice shower. Plenty of towels. Would definitely recommend this hotel from travelers from abroad- easy access to the E train and other transportation. The complimentary made to order breakfast (omelets and pancake bar) was very much appreciated.”

• Not very close to public transportation.

“Excellent hotel featured on Donald Trumps show The Apprentice. The rooms were extra big unlike other hotels where you basically get a bedroom. This hotel had a living room and a separate bedroom. The atmosphere was great. Between 5-7pm, there are free drinks and snacks on the 2nd floor and there was a free buffet breakfast. Downstairs from the hotel were many restaurants, a movie theater and a DSW shoe store.”

“Not the best location as there isn't much going on around it. You need a cab to get around any place and if it's late night, you are out of luck. Hotel itself isn't the most comfortable either. Best feature is the free buffet breakfast in the morning. Overall, you could probably get more for your money elsewhere.”

• Large suite for downtown NYC and the complimentary full buffet breakfast was terrific.
• My room window faced nothing but construction and was unsightly.

“If you don't mind being a bit removed from the heart of NYC this is the hotel for you. You will get a large suite with comfortable beds, pillows and linens. The best asset is the full buffet breakfast with made to order omelette's, pancakes, etc all FREE with your room price. You will have a NYSC gym in the hotel and a movie theater attracted as well. What more comfort could you ask for!!”

• UNBELIEVABLE rooms for NYC!! HUGE! Great views! Emasculate!
• Everything was great, but cheaper parking! $55/24 hours YIKES!

“From the moment we pulled up to the valet to the check in, everything was beyond expectations! Beautiful views of cruise ships on the river and great ambiance! Who can beat a managers reception from 5-7 with complimentary cocktails (full branded bar!) and appetizers, and a cook to order breakfast for free in the AM! Everything from a fruit/yogurt/cereal bar, hot buffet, pancake station, and cook to order omelets/waffle line!! We've stayed in more than 30 hotels in NYC combined and this is by far the best for the $. Only the Ritz was better!”

“Location is beautiful (right along the water) it is quiet for New York, but walk just a few blocks and you are in SOHO. Nice restaurants and bars in the area and great shopping. I will definitely stay here again.”

• Very courteous staff; lovely rooms and layout; free happy hour.
• Inescapable panoramic view of Ground Zero.

“Everything about this hotel was very nice: lovely architecture, nice location downtown in the financial district, very courteous staff, free happy hour, free gym. However, our room had a panoramic view of Ground Zero, which is probably what necessitates the free happy hours. It was extremely depressing and upsetting. Otherwise it was a great hotel, an absolutely terrible vibe. It was bad enough that I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, even with the amenities.”
