“Overall, our stay was wonderful. The hotel is close to everything, with a bus stop near the street. The room was immaculate and the food was decent. We had a great stay there and will most likely go there again.

Ross from Sparta, NJ
“I would not stay there again. I was very disappointed with the shabbiness of the first room I stayed in.” Aug 16, 2008 by
Dave from Lockport, NY
“Room was nice and clean for the most part. They did everything they could to help us and they even let us check in at 7:45am which was ultra nice of them, we did have to stay in a smoking room but they didn't have to do that for us. Location is a bit shady with parking outside and you have to walk 1/4 of a mile to get to your car. Overall, good to stay here instead of NYC but would not recommend for personal travel to NJ.” Aug 11, 2008 by
Carol from Chateaugay, QC CA
“I would definitely recommend this hotel to other people. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable.” Jul 9, 2008 by
Jim from Philadelphia, PA
“Hotel was nice; however lobby area bathrooms were dirty. Staff was generally attentive, but everything took forever for them to do. Checking in took 15 minutes. On one occasion we used the shuttle to the local train station (3 miles). On the return to the hotel we had to call the hotel 3 times to get picked up, each time getting different info on when the driver would arrive. They need service training.” Jul 8, 2008 by
Joel from Portsmouth, NH
“Everything was great for the short stay. I would definitely stay again.” Jun 15, 2008 by
A from Oro Station, ON CA
“Could not provide us with on bed and instead were forced to sleep in a double bed. Then come home at 12am to find the air conditioner liked all over the floor. Worst hotel experience ever.” Jun 7, 2008 by
Michael from Newtown Square, PA
“Tub never drained, WiFi didn't work 100%, Breakfast was below average, double charged for a movie, one of two elevators was down the other was very slow due to crowd, (Morning, evening and night time). Parking lot stairs are rusted and borderline dangerous. Very comfortable bed, HVAC and good TV channel selection.” May 23, 2008 by
Elizabeth from Hacketts Town, NJ
“The hotel itself is gorgeous. But when we arrived and were checking in, they said that all they had was two double beds. I stayed at this hotel because they had a king bed available. I told them that this was unacceptable and that they need to make some calls. After about 20 minutes at the counter, they said that they had a king room for us but we would have to wait 20 minutes for it to be cleaned. After an hour and a half of waiting (luckily we were able to wait in the bar and have a couple of cocktails), my husband again went to check on our room status, and at that time they said they did not have a room. This experience has left a totally bad taste in our mouths. Not being able to get into our room until 5:50 (check-in is 3), they did not want to give us a late check-out the next day. Totally unacceptable! We were almost late for our dinner cruise because of the hotel's ineptitude.” May 22, 2008 by
Fadi from Montreal, QC CA
“The first day: I didn't take my shower because dirty water came from the bath. I took 2 hours to fix the problem and then I was waiting to clean the bath.” May 22, 2008 by
Michelle from Ottawa, ON CA
“A reasonably priced alternative for those traveling by themselves who can't afford New York prices, however, can be a hassle to get back to late at night.” May 19, 2008 by
Soryu from Spain
“To begin with, the hotel is in the middle of nowhere. Literally, it will take you a 15 min ride on a car to get to Secaucus train station. Definitely not a good option if you are not driving. If you plan to visit NYC from there, just forget about it. They will simply lie or bulls [-] you if you become too much hassle for them. Which is right after you have shown up there? You get it, dont you? Breakfast is pitiful and tasteless. If you want something hot, ask your waiter at least twice and pay an extra $10 for a lousy sausage. Anything that is not a continental breakfast, you will have to pay for. Coffee is normally cold. No hot milk. There are only two lifts (elevators) and the hotel is really big, make planning ahead. Beds are inadequate for two. It is ok for just one person, but not for two. As a travel agent I, having been to very many hotels in the world, I would never recommend this one. Definitely to be avoided.” May 11, 2008 by
Nina from Valrico, FL
“When I arrived I found hairs all over my bed sheets. It took 2 phone calls and 4 hours to finally get house cleaning to come change them. I bring my own Clorox wipes with me everywhere. The wipes were black from dirt when I wiped down the bathroom, and there was urine spots underneath the toilet seat. Also, between the sinking mattresses and the lumpy pillows, I did not sleep very well. Although there is a free shuttle to surrounding attractions, the hotel is not really in walking distance to too many restaurants. Alternatively, the views are nice, and there is a nature walk along the river. The hotel restaurant has a nice buffet breakfast. Also, a direct bus stop to NYC is conveniently located just outside the hotel entrance.” Apr 19, 2008 by
Raquel from Las Vegas, NV
“The hotel first gave us a key to someone else's room and after that person yelled at us profusely, we went back down only to wait one hour while they found us a room. The staff was rude about many more problems! I have never had such a horrible experience at any hotel!” Apr 8, 2008 by
Ron from Ruckersville, VA
“The hotel was great for us since we only spent a few hours per day there just to sleep. The room did not have a micro fridge, which would have been nice. There was some mildew in the bathroom and it could have been a little cleaner. The biggest thing was as soon as we checked in the elevators went out of service, so we had to be escorted through the kitchen and use the service elevator to get to our room. Also, they charge 10.00 per day for high speed internet access.” Mar 27, 2008 by
Gerry from Stoke-On-Trent Longton GB
“No bus from the airport, not many deals going on, could not take grandson to see Giants stadium no bus to take us. Went to local mall were left with no pick time or number to ring up and people at the hotel were not picking the phone up to answer us.” Nov 28, 2007 by
Diana from Gaitherburg, MD
“The outlet is just nearby and Manhattan is not too far either from the hotel.” Nov 22, 2007 by
Constance from Washington, DC
“The location was great but the hotel was old and one of the elevators stopped working. They gave us coupons for breakfast but then didn't make it clear that it was only for part of the buffet.” Nov 22, 2007 by
Jason from South Vienna, OH
“This is a very comfortable hotel that is only a short 25 minute bus ride into NYC. Our room was very clean, with nice linens and a very comfortable bed. The gym was adequate for a short workout. The view from our room provided a nice view of the NYC skyline. The hotel is very close to the Meadowlands Sports Complex.” Nov 14, 2007 by
Terry from Cambridge, MA
“Pretty good overall, rooms are large and comfortable, but the location is not that great for public transportation to nyc. They do have a shuttle that will take you to the nearby train station, but the front desk person failed to mention this and instead directed us to the bus that runs by the hotel. This would have been fine, but the bus does not run that often and was packed. Luckily we found out about the shuttle the next day and were spared the over crowded, long bus ride to NYC.” Nov 12, 2007 by
Shane from Yucaipa, CA
“Though a lovely facility and a workable distance to Downtown New York city, the Crowne Plaza Meadowlands in Secaucus, NJ has a serious customer service problem. Upon check in, the first room we were assigned had door latching and locking problem that should have been caught by housekeeping. Rather than moving us to another room immediately, front desk said there were no other rooms available and that it would only take maintenance dept. a few minutes to address. This all took place close to 11pm after a long day of travel. After a half hour attempt to fix problem, maintenance informed front desk it could not be resolved quickly at which point they said they "found" another available room. Free breakfast was provided for half our party for the inconvenience. The next room was an adequate alternative until the adjacent room used its shower, which back washed into our tub, leaving a disgusting deposit of rust and other gunk in our tub. Maintenance addressed twice, without subsequent improvement. Each time neighbors used shower, same story. Front desk did not offer to move us, compensate, nor did they apologize for inconvenience upon our check out. Some kind of compensation was in order for the inconvenience or at least an explanation for why further accommodation was not possible. Additionally at 11pm the following night we received a confirmation call that we wanted a 5am wake up call, which we had not requested. Fairly presumptuous that a normal guest with children would not be wakened by an 11pm call and if we had requested a 5am calling us certainly would have been in bed by 11. Unconscionable! Staff seemed unsympathetic and upper management should have been involved. Very surprising for this level of hotel. I've been treated better by a Motel 6.” Oct 31, 2007 by
Kevin from Kahului, GA
“Bathtub was dirty when checked in, waited 30 minutes for housekeeping to clean, wife took shower afterwards and found out tub could not drain, waited another 30 minutes for hotel to fix, left the bathtub dirty, tried to wait for housekeeping to return, after 30 minutes couldn't take it any longer and I cleaned tub myself. Internet requires a password from front desk, no mention from front desk or logon webpage. I was very upset by that point and wrote feedback to priority club website. Management immediately tried to remedy situation by removing internet charges and giving one night free. Disappointed by staff and having to write complaint letter to get better treatment.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Oct 27, 2007 by

“The Crowne plaza was overall a very nice hotel with comfortable beds and a clean room. The staff was friendly and helpful. The location was good for those who travel to Manhattan but don't want to stay there. I would definitely recommend this hotel to other travelers.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Oct 27, 2007 by

“Very comfortable beds and pillows. The room was comfortable. The staff was very friendly and attentive to our needs. The bus to the port authority was right across the street; it took only 15 minutes to get to the city.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Oct 24, 2007 by

“Everything was wonderful except they advertise that they have a complimentary shuttle to the train station and they would not take us. It caused us to incur a $10 cab fare every time we needed to go to the train station. Very inconvenient and would have stayed in different location if this was known.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Oct 24, 2007 by

“The hotel was pretty and nice, but the staff was not too sharp. They did not have a handicap room as promised, so we got by on the first night, packed up and the next night they gave it away again. We wouldn't go back again. It wasn't worth the trouble they put us through.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Oct 23, 2007 by

“There was no hotel staff available prior to our arrival. The bed was lopsided and very uncomfortable and the water did not go down in the bath tub.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Oct 17, 2007 by

“This hotel is a huge disappointment. The bathrooms are small and dirty, the hotel rooms smelled of smoke even though it was a non smoking room. The web site says they have a shuttle to the NYC train but they do not.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Oct 15, 2007 by

“The carpet was very dirty. The room service was horrible. There was a broken lamp that was a fire or shock hazard. There was no wireless internet without a fee. We stayed in other hotels on the trip for less money that was much nicer with free internet service.” Oct 12, 2007 by
Roy from Seymour, TN
“The Crowne Plaza in Secaucus is a well appointed hotel with courteous staff. It is convenient to NYC by a twenty to thirty minute bus ride (depending on traffic) that takes you to Times Square for $2.55! The bus stops a block from the hotel and runs frequently throughout the day and evening. I dined in the bar and grill after hours and the burger was a good one. The beds were comfortable and the room was clean and had a view of the NYC skyline (ask for a room on the east side). The neighborhood appeared safe and I thought this was a good alternative to staying in the city where accommodations would be smaller and more expensive and probably not as clean and nicely appointed. Would stay here again.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Oct 11, 2007 by
Shawn from Troy, OH
“The location of the hotel is great for the price. The central location allowed me to stay in one place instead of getting multiple hotels for my trip. I had a graduation in Trenton to attend, and a tour through New York city. Having a nice hotel like this was a great find.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Sep 22, 2007 by

“The queen beds were too small for two adults; breakfast cost me an extra $50. No continental (or other breakfast) included in the price. Hotel is not as nice, but the queen beds are normal size, and the free breakfast is outstanding.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jul 2, 2007 by

“Room and lobby were quite nice, but internet was $10/day whereas it is free everywhere else! Breakfast was not included. Parking was a longish walk and 2 flights of rusty stairs away on top level of garage with trash and broken glass all over.” Jul 1, 2007 by
Rod from Rio Rico, AZ
“First impression of the hotel was good, as the lobby is well appointed and very clean. We were upgraded to a King Size mini Suite which was nice for space but overall, the room needed a major overhaul and cleaning. Carpeting was stained and all of the furniture looked old and worn out. Staff was very friendly and helped us get where we were going. This hotel could be three stars, but needs to clean up a little.” Jun 27, 2007 by
Angie from Pearland, TX
“Stay here only if the Embassy Suites is booked up or overly priced.” Jun 27, 2007 by

“Book this hotel only if you plan on sleeping one night in Secaucus. Not much good for anything else.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jun 18, 2007 by

“When checking into the hotel I told the bell man that my party had luggage. He pushed the luggage cart towards me and told me that I can unload my own luggage and don't forget to return the cart when I was finished. My party had 13 pieces of luggage. When checking into the hotel front desk, the clerk told me that she did not have the rooms ready to come back later. The front desk clerk had a bad attitude and was unfriendly.” Jun 18, 2007 by

“Maybe this is what you get when you're so close to NYC, but even though the weather was nice, the property just brought me down. The front desk was unable to get in touch with the shuttle when I needed it.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jan 4, 2007 by

“The hotel is very clean and comfortable. Easy to find if we did not get out wrong at route 3 east. Near to the bus station to nick. It only takes you 20 unites to Manhattan. We did not take the shuttle bus to Secaucus junction cause there is no schedule for the shuttle bus. Anyway, it's a lovely hotel.” Dec 5, 2006 by
