• I liked the security getting into and out of the parking lot.
• I did not like the fact that they don't change your sheets and clean your room everyday.

“I like the appearance of this hotel when I first walked in and the morning desk person was very nice, but the night desk person seemed to have an attitude with us when we asked for a larger bed because my grand-daughter was with us. So we asked for a roll away bed and he said he couldn't give it to us. So the next morning my husband went down and asked the morning person at the desk for the extra bed and we got one. The morning person at the desk was also very accommodating when my grand-daughter got sick on the sheets and by the time I got down stair he had a clean set of sheet waiting for me and he said if I needed anything else don't hesitate to let him know.”

• It was very close to where we going. That is the ONLY good thing I can say about this hotel.
• Hated the stay. Dirty, uncomfortable bed, uncomfortable surroundings and so on.

“In all the hotels I have stayed in over the years, This hotel rates as the WORST hotel I have ever stayed in. The only thing that would give this hotel an advantage is it's location. The people that worked the desk did not seem to care about how the room was or how our stay was. They were just there to get paid. I would never ever recommend a homestead suites to anyone. I would never use it again. ”

• Clean, nice kitchen! Pots & dishes were a nice surprise.
• Needs better cable TV station selection.

“We were displaced by a fire and needed emergency accommodations. The room was nicely furnished, comfortable, and had must-needed laundry facilities available. Would highly recommend this hotel if you're looking for a basic, comfortable room for a quick 1-2 night stay while on business.”

• Inept night time staff, screwed up my credit card, no coffee but coffee pot, 2 crappy pillows.

“The lady who checked us in took a print of my cc and then I was charged a 2nd time for the room w/o my knowing there was a coffee pot but no coffee in the hotel and two crappy pillows we called for another and never got it. Parking situation a pain also free but a hassle.”

“I have been using PL for my travel needs for many years. This hotel should not be available on your site for any reason. The state should inspect this hotel and take the appropriate and necessary steps to insure cleanliness.”

• Close to Meadowlands and cheap.
• Everything is a little dirty.

“Great location, however when we arrived at 11.45pm after the concert we saw that evening, we were tired and ready for bed before getting up early for work the next day. Even though we called ahead of time to say we would be arriving late, the main entrance was locked, there was no one at the front desk and no one picked up the courtesy phone. I had to call the hotel on my cell phone and waited 15 minutes for someone to show up. They hardly spoke any English and sent us on our way after grunting, swiping my credit card and disappearing. The room was a little dirty everything had a film on it and the window was open in the room, so it was sweltering and humid when we arrived. ”

• Non availability of 2 double beds.

“The staff did not know that I had 3 rooms reserved in my name. Only on producing the printed confirmation did the staff allot the 3 rooms, otherwise she was saying that I had reservation for only 1 room. The Hotel staff were reluctant to offer a room with 2 double beds as I was traveling with young child and would have benefited with 2 double beds rather that 1 queen sized bed.”

“This is the world's worst hotel. At arrival in the early evening, the registration desk was closed with a sign saying office hours 9-5 that day (Saturday). It took 20 minutes before I could get someone to finally check me in, which they did grudgingly. During my five day stay, the bed sheets were never made, the towels were never laundered, there was no shampoo, the garbage can was never cleaned, the TV was fuzzy, there was no security in the evening hours, the parking gate was broken off in one direction and not working in the other, there was no gym or any other amenities. Full service (linens, towels, room garbage pickup) was only available for an additional fee. Absolutely horrendous! No bus service from the hotel into Manhattan, only eight miles away. Stay away!!!”

“I do not consider this to be a hotel as no maid service was provided. It was, to the contrary, a long-term rooming facility similar to a month-to-month rental and was as seedy as such rooming houses generally are. Hotline is a much better value.”

• No staff at front desk for 35 minutes. We called, but no one came. Six people were waiting.

“I understand that everyone is cutting back on staff to keep costs down, but my time is worth something, too. When one has to wait to register just because the staff is off sleeping somewhere, they need to reevaluate their employees. Rafael was not doing his job. If I were manager, there would be a new employee at the desk.”

• Trash in hallways, stairwells, outside and around the hotel.

“The desk staff treats you like a "faceless commodity". They resent too many questions. Lobby hotel desk closed every night from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. No security on duty late nights at all. Potato chip crumbs on hallway carpet outside my door not cleaned up for more than 5 days.”

• Excellent location for visit to Manhattan.
• Only queen sized bed, $10 to upgrade to larger room.

“I disagree with policy that a queen size bed is adequate for two travelers. Many pairs are not romantically involved egg my mother and I and a queen size bed just isn't large enough for taller, more substantial people. Several times I have considered discontinuing for this reason. I am still undecided as to whether I will continue.”

• Always like having a fridge and microwave.
• Phone system was not good.

“Somewhat difficult to find (you could see it easily enough, but getting there was an adventure). Roads surrounding hotel designed by idiots. Phone system was made much less user friendly by having incorrect instructions in the room and staff at the front desk who were of little help. Over an hour spent trying to sort it out.”

• Needed hotel key to get out of parking lot. Was not told about this at checkout. Couldn't get out.

• The convenience to the turnpike. Very easy to get on and off.
• Hotel did not have a full time front desk staff, no hair dryers in rooms.

“Overall, the hotel was okay but could have had a few more amenities. I missed not having a hair dryer in the bathroom. Front desk was not staffed all the time. Soda machine in the hotel lobby was not working and there was no one to contact about this.”

• The woman on staff was great.
• Need instructions for temperature control and sandwich vending machine.

“The hotel is very comfortable. My room was equipped with an oven, a microwave, and a small refrigerator, things usually not offered in hotel rooms, probably for longer stays than mine. The staff member that checked me in was very nice and helpful, she even came to my room when I couldn't figure out how to put on the heat. She also helped me with the vending machines. The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was clean with new appliances, and everything worked. The place overall had a nice atmosphere. I would stay there again.”

• I felt very comfortable at this hotel.
• The car gate key did not work every time, I had to get the person behind me touse theirs.

“I enjoyed my stay here. The staff was very friendly and responsive. I actually liked the idea that the towels were only change out every 3-4 days. It is an extended stay hotel, most people do not use a towel only once while they are at home. How difficult is it to hang it up to dry after you use it?”

• No security at night , should have staff at front desk at night.

“The location was good it was easy for us to get around, the hotel is keep very clean but you need to have someone at the front desk in case of emergency also you should have some kind of security at night so guest feel safe at all times.”

• Very difficult to find, especially at night; no one on duty when I called for directions

• The air conditioner did not work properly

“The hotel looks pleasant from the outside as well as inside. The air conditioner is a bit of a problem though as the thermostat on the wall did not coordinate with the air conditioner unit in the room. It was very difficult to keep the room at a comfortable temperature.”

“I was very upset with my stay. The staff was rude, the room wasn't very clean, and on top of that they tried to stick me with an extra ten dollar charge per night,for two beds. ”

• I liked the fact that it was centrally located to everywhere I needed to be.
• What I didn't like about Homestead was that if your there less then 5 day you do not get clean towels"
