“This hotel is good for business travel. The rooms were clean and the staff was so friendly and helpful. It is great that the wireless internet charge is a low one time fee.” Sep 5, 2008 by
Linda from New Port Richey, FL
“Clean in rooms but messy in some other areas. This was possibly due to a large number of young folks that were there at the time leaving candy wrappers and soda or water bottles everywhere. They also caused a good deal of noise in common areas.” Aug 27, 2008 by
Tim from Oklahoma, OK
“Everything was great. The best value for your money.” Aug 25, 2008 by
Katelyn from Virginia Beach, VA
“I loved my stay at Homestead. It is literally right across the highway from the Giants Stadium and the IZOD center. The only problems I encountered were that it is almost impossible to get anywhere because there is no such thing as a left turn in NJ and I was very upset that there was no complimentary breakfast in the morning. The only easy way to get food at this hotel was to have it delivered.” Aug 12, 2008 by
Russ from Warminster, PA
“This hotel exceeded our expectations, rooms were clean and spacious with a small kitchen.” Jul 25, 2008 by
Brandis from Detroit, MI
“The location is okay if you have a car but, for those travelers trying to go to New York via public transportation. I suggest staying in New York or by Newark Airport.” Jun 28, 2008 by
Mike from Jefferson, TN
“The hotel was bad very bad. Also, you service was very bad when I called. You all do not know how to provide customer service. I am a director of customer service for a Fortune 10 company and I would be embarrassed if I people treated customers the way I was treated. I will never use you all again.” May 17, 2008 by
Dave from New York, NY
“Good bang for the buck; clean; plenty of towels (always a plus); good range of free TV channels.” May 9, 2008 by
Anthony from Elyria, OH
“The hotel was great! Not what I expected. The full kitchen was a huge bonus and the location was great, except on getting there from the highway. other than that, I will definitely stay there again.” Mar 12, 2008 by
Richard from Niagara Falls, NY
“Located across the highway from giants stadium the studio style room was well equipped big fridge so you can shop and have lots of food in room from snack, dinner and munchies. Just remember room is serviced only once a week, but towels always available from the front desk.” Jan 2, 2008 by
Jackie from Holyoke, MA
“If you are going to any event at the Meadowlands, this is the hotel for you! This one and the Sheraton in East Rutherford are the only two that are really feasible to walk to from the stadium, but you do have to cross over the highway on an on-ramp. The hotel staff will tell you its too dangerous and try to sell you a private taxi service for $20, but don't fall for it! We paid the $20 for the ride there and all it amounted to was two ramps, plus we had to sit in traffic! On the way home, we walked over the ramp past all the taxis stuck in traffic and were back to the hotel in no time. The hotel itself was a little dingy and the hallways smelled really weird, but if you want something cheaper than the Sheraton but want proximity to Meadowlands, it's not bad.” Dec 22, 2007 by
Aaron from Baton Rouge, LA
“The hotel was mediocre at best. There was no continental breakfast. They only serviced our room once during our 6 day stay.” Jul 19, 2007 by
Chichi from East Stroudsburg, PA
“Ok, but not very clean. Staff very helpful.” Jun 7, 2007 by
Dawn from Brooklyn, NY
“This hotel was very clean, close to shopping and restaurants. It was great for a getaway weekend.” Apr 5, 2007 by
Pete from Franklin, TN
“Great place for business travelers. Stove, microwave and 3/4 size fridge. Wireless access for $5 bucks a stay is worthwhile and worked well. An excellent value in the ninja area and close enough to Manhattan to be a viable place for trips to nick if you don't need to stay in the city.” Sep 17, 2006 by
Norman from Boynton Beach, FL
“I never heard of a hotel that only cleans your room once a week. I will refuse to pay the credit card, if that hotel shows up.” Jul 27, 2006 by
Charlene from Baldwinsviile, NY
“The room was great, location was perfect and the kitchen help save money.” Jul 12, 2006 by
Zhi from Potsdam, NY
“All are good except the traffic.” Jul 11, 2006 by
Ramsey from Seahurst, WA
“Utilitarian lodgings for the business traveler with a rental car. Public transportation, restaurants and stores are a five minute drive away. Did I mention that you MUST have a car? It also irritated my pet peeve about hotels with its threadbare, stained ancient bedding.” Jul 7, 2006 by
Daniel from Abingdon, MD
“The Homestead Studio Suites is not a place to stay if you are traveling with children. The rooms are small and there were no amenities offered (no pool, no restaurant, and no continental breakfast). It was just plain and simple a place to sleep. The front desk was almost always left unattended during the evening. When I required blankets and pillows to make a bed on the floor I had to go hunting for them. Again I would not recommend this hotel.” Jun 24, 2006 by
Jane from Bayvile, NJ
“I like the appearance of this hotel when I first walked in and the morning desk person was very nice, but the night desk person seemed to have an attitude with us when we asked for a larger bed because my grand-daughter was with us. So we asked for a roll away bed and he said he couldn't give it to us. So the next morning my husband went down and asked the morning person at the desk for the extra bed and we got one. The morning person at the desk was also very accommodating when my grand-daughter got sick on the sheets and by the time I got down stair he had a clean set of sheet waiting for me and he said if I needed anything else don't hesitate to let him know.” Jun 24, 2006 by
Eileen from Mclean, VA
“Water was shut down morning of stay; one queen size bed for two travelers is not acceptable.” Jun 16, 2006 by
Hogan from Kearny, NJ
“The hotel was in a good location that was near NYC and shopping. It is also close to major highways which is also a plus.” Jun 15, 2006 by
Tammy from Shillington, PA
“In all the hotels I have stayed in over the years, This hotel rates as the WORST hotel I have ever stayed in. The only thing that would give this hotel an advantage is it's location. The people that worked the desk did not seem to care about how the room was or how our stay was. They were just there to get paid. I would never ever recommend a homestead suites to anyone. I would never use it again. ” Jun 13, 2006 by
George from Wanaque, NJ
“We were displaced by a fire and needed emergency accommodations. The room was nicely furnished, comfortable, and had must-needed laundry facilities available. Would highly recommend this hotel if you're looking for a basic, comfortable room for a quick 1-2 night stay while on business.” Jun 13, 2006 by
Richard from Wilkes Barre, PA
“The lady who checked us in took a print of my cc and then I was charged a 2nd time for the room w/o my knowing there was a coffee pot but no coffee in the hotel and two crappy pillows we called for another and never got it. Parking situation a pain also free but a hassle.” Jun 13, 2006 by
Vincent from Glendale Heights, IL
“Very basic amenities and only recommended for long term stays. Should not be rated as a 2 star. My minimum expectation is that the rooms would be cleaned daily.” Jun 11, 2006 by
Jack from Bedford, NH
“I have been using PL for my travel needs for many years. This hotel should not be available on your site for any reason. The state should inspect this hotel and take the appropriate and necessary steps to insure cleanliness.” Jun 6, 2006 by
J.D. from Wall Township, NJ
“Great location, however when we arrived at 11.45pm after the concert we saw that evening, we were tired and ready for bed before getting up early for work the next day. Even though we called ahead of time to say we would be arriving late, the main entrance was locked, there was no one at the front desk and no one picked up the courtesy phone. I had to call the hotel on my cell phone and waited 15 minutes for someone to show up. They hardly spoke any English and sent us on our way after grunting, swiping my credit card and disappearing. The room was a little dirty everything had a film on it and the window was open in the room, so it was sweltering and humid when we arrived. ” Jun 1, 2006 by
Meria from Montclair, NJ
“Overall my stay was pleasant. I was pleased with my accommodations and would recommend this hotel to others. For the type of stay this was; This hotel was a perfect fit. With the kitchen and refrigerator. It was a good choice for me.” May 31, 2006 by
Jane from Woodridge, NJ
“Nothing around or inside the hotel.” May 29, 2006 by
Rohit from Toronto, ON CA
“The staff did not know that I had 3 rooms reserved in my name. Only on producing the printed confirmation did the staff allot the 3 rooms, otherwise she was saying that I had reservation for only 1 room. The Hotel staff were reluctant to offer a room with 2 double beds as I was traveling with young child and would have benefited with 2 double beds rather that 1 queen sized bed.” May 29, 2006 by
Douglas from Rochester, NY
“This is the world's worst hotel. At arrival in the early evening, the registration desk was closed with a sign saying office hours 9-5 that day (Saturday). It took 20 minutes before I could get someone to finally check me in, which they did grudgingly. During my five day stay, the bed sheets were never made, the towels were never laundered, there was no shampoo, the garbage can was never cleaned, the TV was fuzzy, there was no security in the evening hours, the parking gate was broken off in one direction and not working in the other, there was no gym or any other amenities. Full service (linens, towels, room garbage pickup) was only available for an additional fee. Absolutely horrendous! No bus service from the hotel into Manhattan, only eight miles away. Stay away!!!” May 17, 2006 by
Craig from Fort Lauderdale, FL
“Great hotel deal, I stayed here last year also, Overall stay great!” May 16, 2006 by
Karen from Glastonbury, CT
“I do not consider this to be a hotel as no maid service was provided. It was, to the contrary, a long-term rooming facility similar to a month-to-month rental and was as seedy as such rooming houses generally are. Hotline is a much better value.” May 15, 2006 by
Jeff from Hornell, NY
“It was nice to have the kitchen and is suitable for a long term stay.” May 10, 2006 by
Charlene from Baldwinsville, NM
“The person on the desk was very nice, the room are nice and big. I enjoy having the kitchen.” Jan 8, 2006 by
Philip from Woodbury, NJ
“I understand that everyone is cutting back on staff to keep costs down, but my time is worth something, too. When one has to wait to register just because the staff is off sleeping somewhere, they need to reevaluate their employees. Rafael was not doing his job. If I were manager, there would be a new employee at the desk.” Jan 2, 2006 by
Jody from Elmira Heights, NY
“The desk staff treats you like a "faceless commodity". They resent too many questions. Lobby hotel desk closed every night from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. No security on duty late nights at all. Potato chip crumbs on hallway carpet outside my door not cleaned up for more than 5 days.” Dec 5, 2005 by
Paul from Woodbury Heights, NJ
“Good place to stay.” Nov 30, 2005 by
Eileen from Mclean, VA
“I disagree with policy that a queen size bed is adequate for two travelers. Many pairs are not romantically involved egg my mother and I and a queen size bed just isn't large enough for taller, more substantial people. Several times I have considered discontinuing for this reason. I am still undecided as to whether I will continue.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Nov 28, 2005 by

“Could be better.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Nov 21, 2005 by

“Somewhat difficult to find (you could see it easily enough, but getting there was an adventure). Roads surrounding hotel designed by idiots. Phone system was made much less user friendly by having incorrect instructions in the room and staff at the front desk who were of little help. Over an hour spent trying to sort it out.” Oct 21, 2005 by
Jim from Walworth, NY
“Great hotel if you are attending an event at the Meadowlands.” Oct 6, 2005 by
Mary from Westmont, NJ
“Overall, the hotel was okay but could have had a few more amenities. I missed not having a hair dryer in the bathroom. Front desk was not staffed all the time. Soda machine in the hotel lobby was not working and there was no one to contact about this.” Oct 4, 2005 by
Steven from Rast Rockaway, NY
“The hotel is very comfortable. My room was equipped with an oven, a microwave, and a small refrigerator, things usually not offered in hotel rooms, probably for longer stays than mine. The staff member that checked me in was very nice and helpful, she even came to my room when I couldn't figure out how to put on the heat. She also helped me with the vending machines. The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom was clean with new appliances, and everything worked. The place overall had a nice atmosphere. I would stay there again.” Sep 29, 2005 by
Charlene from Baldwinsville, NY

“I enjoyed my stay here. The staff was very friendly and responsive. I actually liked the idea that the towels were only change out every 3-4 days. It is an extended stay hotel, most people do not use a towel only once while they are at home. How difficult is it to hang it up to dry after you use it?” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.
