• Comfortable beds.
• Pool water was salt water.

“Very limited in usable workout facility and pool water was salt water and too warm for pool water. Hot tub had minimal jets but water was quite warm.”

• Bus to NY city is 20 minute, clean, and it is quiet.

“Very nice hotel, clean, and quiet. Very good option if you want to visit NY city - there is a public bus from the hotel to port authority in Manhattan. Also very close to Medieval times.”

• Great atmosphere and the bar was great.

“We stayed at this hotel to be close to NYC. Perfect location, easy to get to the city. Room was clean, beds were comfortable, staff was friendly and helpful. Bar was fun and the bartender was friendly. Made our celebration perfect.”

“Hotel significantly away from my business appointments in NYC, but I choose to go for NJ due to the ridiculous pricing and hotel and also for parking expense as well as the nickel and diming aspect of NYC hotels. For my current budget, the Renaissance Hotel was satisfactory.”

• It was very clean. The beds were very comfortable. It had a refrigerator.
• It did not have a microwave to use either in lobby or room.

“The hotel is a very nice hotel that we would not hesitate to stay in again. It was simple to get on and off the highway. The rooms were nice big, clean. They had a restaraunts and lounge. The pool is a plus even though we didn't get a chance to use it. And the staff was great.”

“Great hotel to stay in for events at the Meadow lands and close proximity to the City. Short ten minute drive into New York or 20 minute bus ride to Penn Station. Lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. Wonderful staff, extra clean room, beautiful view and pool - GREAT hotel.”

• Bed linen smelled heavily of cigarette smoke.

“Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The decor was beautiful. The only complaint we had was that the, sheets and pillow cases had a very strong smell of cigarette smoke, despite the fact that it is a non smoking hotel. Some one must be smoking in the laundry.”

• Super pleasant stay! Wish I was staying longer!
• Nothing at all!

“Everything was great about the hotel, we were 3 people so I asked them for one of the larger room if possible, and they gave me a club-level room and it was amazing! The only thing that was a bit annoying to me is the commute from NYC, because it is in Jersey, driving into NYC and coming back to hotel was about 10 dollars one way just for the toll.”

• Clean, convenient location.
• Fire alarm went off forcing us to wait outside for 45 minutes or so but the management did what they could.

“If you're willing to give up being in Manhattan, this is a great alternative. Just a couple of miles from the Lincoln Tunnel, this is a great hotel with large, luxurious rooms. And parking is free.”

• The appearance of the hotel was excellent.
• The hotel staff did not clean the bath tub daily.

“The hotel staff members were friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed the convenience of being close to NYC. The traffic noise from route 3 was not the best sounds at times but the gracious accommodations made up for the noise.”

• Lovely hotel, great location to NYC.

“The staff was great, the hotel was lovely and well cared for. The bus for NYC was across the street and took 15 min. The cost was $3.40 each way. The Meadowlands is much closer than Newark and much more economical. The Meadowlands will be our first choice from now on.”

• For people going to see the Giants play it is great out side of that not much goes on in Rutherford.

• The satellite TV wasn't giving a clear picture.

“This hotel has super comfortable beds. I loved that it was modern & up to date with free wi-fi throughout the hotel. The 32in flat screens didn't hurt either. It was very clean & the staff was exceptionally friendly. I was here for business but would definitely stay for pleasure.”

• I left a tip and note requesting extra bath towel. It took 2 days to get it.

“This hotel is highly recommended. All staff was polite, friendly and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was enjoyable. The restaurant at the hotel was lovely and the food fantastic. • Great location and spacious rooms.
• Sheets were dirty. Found pubic hair on the bed sheets before I got in.

“This was a beautiful hotel. I loved the layout and most of the staff was nice. One person was semi rude to myself and my partner. We received a double bed instead of a king size bed. The sheets on one bed had pubic hair on it when we pulled back the sheets and what looked like blood stains. We slept in the other bed. Double was big enough for two so it was fine. Overall its a lovely hotel. I would stay in it again.”

• I can't state how poor most of the staff operated.

“I have stayed in this area of New Jersey many times. This hotel location is horrible. You need a taxi or the shuttle to connect to public transportation. Three nights in a row the shuttle left us freezing and did not pick up as promised. It runs infrequently mid day. This is really about a two star hotel. Restaurant was to close at 11. It did not keep posted hours and closed early despite it being a holiday weekend. The hotel operator was a cut below the average McDonalds employee. I couldn't believe Sheraton let their name stay on this hotel. Housekeeping staff also poor.”

• Very friendly hotel that was easy to get to from NYC.
• If staying at this hotel, try to get a room on the backside of the hotel away from the road noise.

“This hotel was a nice place to stay for a cheap price outside of NYC. My wife and I were searching for a convenient place to stay at a convenient price. Renaissance definitely fit the criteria we were looking for in a hotel. The staff was very friendly and took notice that we had not checked in earlier in the day. The hotel restaurant is expensive. We arrived late and decided on room service. They guaranteed our food in 25 minutes and we received it in 20 minutes. The food was excellent. We would definitely stay there again for future trips to NYC or to giants games.”

“The location was great. The room very clean and especially the bedding were very comfortable. We were a little disappointed in the proximity to the road as the mooring traffic was very noisy and kept us from sleeping in.”

• I expected better and more comfortable bedding.

“I was at the Marriott in Baltimore and loved the bed. It was the most comfortable of beds ever with feather beds, top quality sheets, etc. I expected the same from this hotel. Towels were good though and everything worked. I liked the little terrace we had.”

• The staff was very accommodating. The hotel was clean and comfortable!
• I would have liked a casual restaurant in the hotel.

“The Renaissance Meadowlands Hotel in Rutherford was a great hotel for a great price! The rooms were very nice sized, immaculate and very comfortable. The beds had down comforters, lots of cozy pillows and the mattresses were pillow topped. Two great nights of sleep. The hotel is across the street from a bus stop that took us to the Port Authority in NY and from there we could site see all over the city. There is a lovely pool in the hotel that we were able to use also. The staff was very accommodating and checked with us to be sure our needs were being met. I traveled with 2 young children and they were made to feel very welcome in the hotel. That is important to me. I would stay here again and highly recommend it to others!”

• It was an excellent place for a good nights rest.
• Upon entry, I was not assisted, then I was given a hard time by the receiving staff. Age prejudice.

“This hotel was of impeccable quality, from cleanliness' standpoint. The staff seem grizzled upon entering. If you can handle your own luggage and a small snooty attitude upon entry; then this hotel provides the hardware for a good time. Approximately 15 minute bus ride to the port authority in Times Square.”

• The convenience of the hotel being so close to the highway and the Starbucks coffee.
• The lack of cleanliness and maintenance of the room.

“The lobby and common areas of the hotel were well maintained. However, I cannot say the same of the room. The toilet had been used and not flushed when we arrived, which seemed to be the worst part of the room. In addition, there were dust bunnies on the towels, and portions of the wallpaper were either ripped or falling off.”

• I asked for and got an upgraded room that included a Jacuzzi.
• Nothing.
