“I had high expectations taking my family in to this hotel. This hotel does not live up to the standards normally associated with Holiday Inn. This location has unfriendly, uncaring and rude reception staff. Has dirty carpet all over. Squeaking elevators. Artificial flowers decorate the lobby and they are all dirty.” Oct 11, 2009 by
Dale from Rockville,MD
“Certainly a good value for the rate we got on Priceline. Don't expect anyone to help you with luggage or even find a luggage cart - you're on your own. Rooms are clean and restaurants convenient for breakfast, etc.” Oct 11, 2009 by
Kevin from Pleasant Hill,IA
“Place to sleep and shower.” Oct 5, 2009 by
Darren from Etobicoke,Canada
“Very good value...” Sep 20, 2009 by

“The hotel was OK. But I think that guests have to pay for parking is unfair. One of the main reasons that I picked up this hotel was due to the fact that on it's website, it stated to have parking without disclosing the $15 per day parking fee. This is very misleading and has made me to decide that not to stay in this hotel for this very reason for my next trip to Newark. The best the hotel can do is either wave the parking fee for its guests or make a full disclosure on its website.” Aug 27, 2009 by
James from N. Charleston,SC
“The hotel is a great place to book housing, however, having to pay for parking is a bit much.” Aug 27, 2009 by
Rena Valenty from Apple Valley,MN
“Some front desk staff friendly and helpful others not. Waiters in Teddys were great. Hotel could use some updating but overall it was adequate for the price. Not hotels fault but not too happy with having to get out of our room at 1:00AM because someone stuck in the elevator. No staff outside assisting or informing guests...or handicap guest” Aug 22, 2009 by
Sarav from Germantown,MD
“The hotel was neat and spacious but the locality was little spooky and not much place to roam around. There were uninvited guest in the rest room (cockroach).” Jul 15, 2009 by
Jojibcon from Rosedale,ME
“When it comes to cleanliness and arrangement of the room, perfect. Courtesy of the 2 guys in the front desk, the worst I have seen. Parking fee should be reduced to 50%. Breakfast buffet is the best. If time permit, I will return and stay again in this hotel. Price is very good especially using price line.com.” May 18, 2009 by
Jon from Maumee`,OH
“When we got on Priceline and this hotel came up as a 3-star, we looked it up online and thought that it seemed very nice. Upon arriving, we realize that many of the photos online must have been many years old, as the hotel was in need of plenty of up keeping repairs. Our room's carpet was ripping and in one spot we had about a 2 foot by 2 inch tear in the carpet. The lobby was alright, but areas less traveled in the hotel (hallways, exercise room, etc) were less desirable to the eye. I would certainly not have rated the hotel as 3-stars, even 2 would have been generous in my opinion.” Apr 5, 2009 by
Cindy from Anchorage, AK
“The only thing that could be described as romantic about this room is that someone had scrawled "I love you" on the window with some sticky substance and housekeeping has never cleaned it off. The entry light into the room did not work, leaving the guest to stumble upon entry until and alternate light switch could be located. While the room has a 4-cup coffee maker, no coffee-suitable cups have been provided for the entire stay. The price was better than expected through Price Line. We won't be staying here again. Clearly this hotel is not a 3 star.” Mar 16, 2009 by
Donald from Palm Harbor,FL
“I arrived at 1 am. All of the conveniences were open. I checked out at 5 am. Could get anything I needed at this time.” Dec 26, 2008 by
Ramin from Gainesville,FL
“Its a good hotel, but the bathroom was a mess. No drainage in the bath tube, water remained for several hours. It was good for a one night stay, but the bath room messed up my experience.” Dec 4, 2008 by
Mark from Charlotte,NC
“I would stay again if Nov 22, 2008 by

“Met our needs for a short stay and very conveniently located to the airport with good shuttle service.” Oct 13, 2008 by
Alisha
“This hotel is convenient for a short layover in Newark but nothing else. There is nothing around to do or eat besides the restaurant hotel. There was a bug in my sink and the room was very old. Hard beds and uncomfortable pillows.” Sep 23, 2008 by
Peggie
“The hotel staff was extremely accommodating to my needs from the crib that I asked for to the roll away bed that I had to use when my child refused to sleep in the crib. One would think that having to pay $15.00 a day for parking that the parking attendants would have been friendlier but that was not the case. The attendants seemed more bothered that I asked questions and annoyed when they took my money.

“I enjoyed staying at this hotel. It almost felt like home. It's not too big and not too small. The surrounding is warm and friendly. After a day in New York City I was looking forward to coming back to the hotel. The room was just great!” Sep 13, 2008 by
Kam from Auburn, AL
“Bad management.” Sep 13, 2008 by
Chris from Williamsburg, VA
“Outdated.” Aug 20, 2008 by
Randall from Palmer, AK
“The hotel offered a respite after long days visiting in New York City.” Aug 9, 2008 by
Steve from Spokane, WA
“Really good service, wonderful help. Dining was excellent with good prices and large portions. Their shuttle to the airport made travel into New York easy for the six days we were there. I would definitely stay there again.” Aug 8, 2008 by
Tim from Palm Beach Gardens, FL
“My wife and I stayed at the Holiday Inn twice, going to England and on our return. On our first night the bathroom smelled and the outside traffic kept us up all night. On our return trip the bathroom once again smelled. There was a wet wash cloth in the sink upon our arrival. I used the toilet and there was a backup in the system. They gave us a new room. Needless to say, I will never stay in a Holiday Inn again!” Jul 30, 2008 by
Kimberly from Germantown, MD
“The hotel looked old and there was fresh paint smell that did not escape the room the entire time we were there.” Jul 30, 2008 by
Bryan from New Cumberland, PA
“The room at this hotel was ok on cleanliness. If you get the opportunity to have the breakfast buffet, it is well worth it and the price was good. The chef or banquet person in charge of that buffet did an unbelievable job, my girlfriend and I left that morning totally satisfied.” Jul 23, 2008 by
Rory from Ontario, NJ
“Over all it served its purpose. Everything was as I expected it to be.” Jul 2, 2008 by
Juan from Alexandria, VA
“NA.” Jun 9, 2008 by
Jeff from Pasco, WA
“The staff was accommodating. The problem for me was that access to public transportation was very poor. To get to the train station, you either have to go through the airport shuttle system, which is a lengthy process, or take an expensive taxi ride. It is very inconvenient if you need to go anywhere in NJ or NY. I am not likely to stay there again.” Jun 9, 2008 by
Lisa from Burbank, IL
“Close to the airport, room was clean. Staff was friendly.” May 30, 2008 by
Sunil from Wheeling, IL
“The hotel reception desk is extremely slow. I had to wait almost 20 minutes in line even with only 2 guests in front of me. But the location and facilities are nice. Another thing is that they charge you 15 bucks for overnight car parking. I think that's a little too much.” May 28, 2008 by
Chris from North Andover, MA
“Better then expected from a Holiday Inn. Good clean room with updated bed. Pillows need updating.” May 27, 2008 by
Philip from Houston, TX
“This hotel was not worth the star rating. The hotel was in poor condition for a business traveler. You could feel the bed springs going into your back. The wireless internet was not consistent, kept on losing the signal. The buses to the airport did not run frequent enough. The place was old and run down, would have spent more on a room for something a little nicer.” May 21, 2008 by
Ian from Stillwater, OK
“The staff of the hotel is extremely rude. The concierge is never there at the desk. The staff at the registration desk answers question in a rude manner. Knowing me as a foreign traveler, they spoke back to me loudly and in a rude manner. I felt racist treatment throughout my stay at the hotel. Staff makes comment in their own languages while speaking to guests. This hotel has the rudest staff Ive ever seen in my life. Will never go back to this hotel ever again in my life. I would rather sleep in the airport.” May 17, 2008 by
Sarah from Spokane, WA
“The hotel wasn't as nice as I thought it would be. The rooms were a little outdated and didn't feel very clean. The service at the restaurant was so slow. I wouldn't count on the shuttle van being on time either. At least it was affordable though. I didn't spend too much time there, so I guess it was good enough.” May 7, 2008 by
Linda from North Bay, ON CA
“Excellent for price paid.” Apr 30, 2008 by
Marvella from Hebron, MD
“The hotel was in a good location. I felt safe staying there. I did not visit the fitness area, but the lobby, public restroom, elevator, halls and floors were clean. The staff was pleasant. Quiet. About 1/4 mile from the interstate toll. The hotel was located on an off ramp with little surrounding traffic.” Apr 27, 2008 by
David from Fort Lauderdale, FL
“The hotel is convenient but as most hotels in the New York area does not deserve it's 4 star rating.” Apr 26, 2008 by
Ari from Nyc, NY
“Great rooms, a bit old but well preserved and modernly operated, great location.” Apr 16, 2008 by
Md Z. from Seremban GB
“I would recommend this hotel to friends. The hotel location is near to the airport. I was surprise to know that breakfast is not included and should consider being in the package.” Mar 21, 2008 by
Pj from Arlington, VA
“Good choice - quiet, nicely-appointed rooms, clean, very helpful, friendly and professional desk staff, in a very convenient location. Good food in the restaurant, if a bit heavy (one sandwich I ordered could have fed three people). The 24-hr airport shuttle service makes this a great place to stay if you want to go into NYC - you can just take the shuttle to the airport and grab a train. My only caution is that some of the shuttle bus drivers cop an attitude about which terminals they want to drive to, so it's best to ask before you get on board to make sure they'll take you to terminal P4 (where the NJT and Amtrak trains are). Overall, when I go to NYC (which is often), I will definitely stay at this hotel from now on.” Feb 23, 2008 by
Neal from Simi Valley, CA
“$15.00/Night Parking, my business stay was equal to Hotels at double and triple the cost/night with the Holiday Inn at Newark International Airport having much more in the way of amenities and personalized service. This hotel is a diamond in the rough for those persons wishing to get to New York in 30 to 40 minutes. Will stay again.” Feb 21, 2008 by
Leah from Medford, MA
“Overall the rooms are nice and clean and the staff is friendly. The restaurant is a bit expensive for what they serve. Parking is also expensive. It was cheaper to park overnight at the neighboring hotel. If you're a business traveler, or looking to take a flight out of Newark, this is a great hotel.” Feb 19, 2008 by
Dave from Hackettstown, NJ
“Rooms were great; food was great, staff top notch very friendly considering it is a airport hotel, with people going there with cancelled flights. My stay there was because of the weather, to bad to try and make it home.” Feb 10, 2008 by
Mike from Houston, TX
“Bad.” Dec 21, 2007 by
Lauren from Princeton Jct, NJ
“I stayed one night at the Holiday Inn and was very happy with my stay. It is convenient to the airport and all the major highways. When I checked out the person at the front desk did not charge me the $15 for parking that I had been told I would have to pay. Overall, the room was comfortable and the bathroom was nice but the lighting in the rooms was pretty dismal.” Dec 19, 2007 by
Richard from Liverpool, NY
“I think that the additional parking rates should be listed for future guests before they arrive and are forced to pay them, or at least have those charges added to the price of the room where they can pay for it all together.” Dec 15, 2007 by
Patty from Macomb, MI
“Price was reasonable. Room was dirty and worn looking. Location was excellent and closes to public transportation and to New York. I would stay there again.” Dec 14, 2007 by
Nitzan from Waltham, MA
“Have a lot of experience in many hotels and especially airport hotels. This is one of the worse ever! Hotel that claims to be 3 stars (while in fact even 2 stars would have been too much for it) can't be in such a poor shape, without insulated windows facing the runways and highways, quite dirty and with such a bad approach personnel, especially at the front desk. They simply don't care about the guests! The wireless internet hardly work and was out of service for long periods, without an alternative network cable available. One exceptional good surprise were the bathroom supplies (bath and body works) that were one of the best even in comparison to much better hotels (and most hotels are much better than this one.).” Dec 10, 2007 by
K.C. from Pittsburgh, PA
“The Holiday Inn was a decent hotel. Check in went smoothly. Parking is 15 dollars a day but appears to be fairly secure. The room was decent although not the most current decor and some bedding/furniture was showing signs of wear. The room service was reasonably priced and we had a nice meal at the restaurant/sports bar in the lobby. The bathroom was even more worn down and not especially clean. The tub has a high rim that would be difficult for a more elderly person or shorter person to get into. The water pressure and temperature was good. The fitness center has lots of cardio equipment and several flat screen TVs. It is located in a very sunny corner of the hotel which was nice. There was only one weight machine though albeit it could be used by more than one individual at a time. The internet was free and fast.” Dec 7, 2007 by
Sharon S. from Bronx, NY
“This hotel is good for a quick stay - it is clean, the room service is very good. However, they could stand to update the bathroom and have faucets and drainage in working order.”
