• I liked the maid service.
• The room could've been update and cleaner.

“Overall the hotel was very nice, but my room had several imperfections,maybe with extra cleaning I wouldn't have notice it. The bedding needed to be updated, my bed spread looked old.”

• The breakfast service was an excellent frisbie, that's perhaps unique to the Comfort Suites. the bathroom is spacious.
• There's long waiting for checkout.

“The Comfort Suite at McCarter Highway in Newark, NJ is an excellent facility for one whose aim is to relax, undisturbed for a weekend the staff are very friendly and helpful. The room are clean, the bed is large and comfortable. there's ample window for excellent view of the surrounding. There's no doubt that I'll be staying there in the very near future. My partner was very impressed also.”

• This place was homy, yet had a hint of luxury! Soo much space! Great breakfast!
• Cleaning ladies were a little hard to talk too. But could they clean? Spotless.

• It was clean hotel with a large room.
• I had to ask twice for sheets for our sofa bed and the location was amongst abandoned warehouses.

“The hotel is excellent for families/travelers who are looking for a very reasonable price. Rooms are large enough and the sofa beds are really nice. Breakfasts were quite good. Unfortunately not enough seating for all the people. The view was kind of scary with many abandoned warehouses around. As well, there is only one elevator which the cleaners also used which meant long waits to go down in the mornings. All in all, for the price, the accommodations are more than adequate and would recommend to any one.”

• Convenient to where I was working in Jersey City.
• Walls were paper thin, if no AC, then I would've heard TV from next room.

“Overall, decent accommodations. Great that I had a microwave and a refrigerator in the room! If I didn't have the AC going all night. I would've been kept up by TVs in any of the rooms adjoining mine.”

• Excellent free breakfast & extremely comfortable bed.
• Carpeting in room needed to be replaced.

“This hotel has a beautiful lobby. The staff was very helpful and informative. The room was nice with an extremely comfortable bed and many amenities such as a microwave and refrigerator. The free breakfast was great and the area to eat it was very nice. The hotel also seemed to be in a safe area. We would definitely stay in this hotel again and would recommend it to other people.”

• Price was great. Free Parking.
• The wireless did not work in the hotel.

“As a leisure traveler, I would definitely stay here again. It's not in the best part of town, but was in a safe gated location. Convenient for travel to NYC or around NJ. Breakfast was decent Free parking is a real plus. Other reviews said the wireless didn't work and I found this to be true. Pack a computer phone adaptor in order to connect to the internet.”

“Actually, the hotel is not at the airport 7 the rental car company would not pick me up as it was too far from the airport. Moreover, the Hotel shuttle turned out to be a cab which I was charged for.”

• Cleaning service.
• Trouble with internet connections, front desk not so welcoming.

“Overall my stay was pleasant, I was out most of the time site seeing. But the time I did spend their the cleaning staff was very cooperative. Waiting until we left the room before cleaning it and also left it very clean each time. The variety of breakfast opinions was also a plus.”

• Very clean and the rooms were very spacious.

“Small hotel in an urban area. The hotel itself is very clean and the rooms are somewhat spacious. The hotel is not in a premium area but if you are familiar with the area already you will navigate to all the optimum places very quickly from here.”

“Hotel was clean, bed was nice and comfortable. The comforter was real and not one of those thin pieces of nothing! Wireless internet worked okay in the hall but wouldn't work in my room. Good selection of food at the continental breakfast. Overall, the hotel was very nice and the price was good.”

• The breakfast was quite good.
• Upon arrival we informed the staff that the smoke free room, smelled of smoke and cigarettes. We were told no other rooms were available.

“With the exception of the staff not being accommodating to our requests for a smoke free, the experience was okay. We left a note on the comment card, and no one has gotten back to us about our concerns about the smoke smell in the room.”

“This was supposed to be near the airport. It took me 45 minutes between the airport and the hotel. The hotel is actually on the other side of Newark and it is in an industrial and crime ridden neighborhood. No food nearby either. The desk clerk was unfriendly and not helpful at all. He could not speak English well enough to give me any directions. When I decided to order out for food I looked in the hotel book in my room and there was graffiti written all over it. The room was also noisy. It was an absolutely awful place.”

• The staff wasn't very helpful and you have to run to the front desk for everything.

• Friendly staff, accommodating housekeeper.
• Messy lobby/elevator, awkward flow at breakfast, cheap bedspread, stains on carpet.

“It was ok. Decent place to lay our heads after a day of being out and about. Wish it had been a bit cleaner in lobby/elevator. Staff nice, not very helpful when asked about directions and general vicinity. Better lighting around side for parking. Could use some paint on some of the walls, although outside of hotel is lovely. It was ok, I'd opt to stay elsewhere but I guess for the price it was decent.”

• It was warm, clean, easy access to freeways, good continental breakfast.
• NOTHING.

• Free High Speed Internet.
• The inability of the staff to speak English.

“Short and simple this hotel was horrible. I would never stay at this place agian even if the room was free. When checking in I asked for a NO smoking room with 2 beds in turn I receieved a smoking room with one bed. ”

• New hotel, friendly and helpful staff
• Airport shuttle service is NOT available 24/7, as advertised. Additional $20 for taxi.

“This is a new Comfort Suites hotel. Very comfortable and friendly staff. Located in a run-down section north of downtown Newark that is in the process of redevelopment. The area will be much nicer in 5 years. Hotel advertised airport shuttle availability 24/7, but when I called the hotel after 10:00 p.m. for a ride, I was informed I would need to take a taxi, which added an additional $20 to my hotel bill. Very deceptive advertising. I WOULD NOT recommend this hotel as serving the Newark Airport.”

• Considered an airport hotel, but no van service to airport. $10-20 extra for a ride each way

“Clean hotel, but not close enough to EWER to be considered a airport hotel. Front desk clerk said it would be a $10 charge to be picked up at EWER, the driver however said it was $20. We compromised on $15”

• The housekeeping staff was very friendly and helpful; room was cozy and efficient!
• Hallways and room had heavy smoking odor.

“The location is in what looks to be a dirty, industrial area undergoing revamping. The hotel looks to be one of the newest buildings in area. The room was wonderful with separate sitting area and small kitchen; the bed was most comfortable I've had. Housekeeping staff was in hall upon arrival and greeted me, offering to help in any way. Very nice hotel and staff ... location is only drawback.”

• Some of the walls could use a little paint retouching. Other than that, fine.
