• Location.

• Helpful and courteous staff.
• If driving to this hotel, it is not convenient.

“Hotel is well kept and common areas are nice-looking. The shuttle from Newark Airport helps, but it only runs every 1/2 hour and makes stops at other related hotels in the area. Driving to this hotel from the airport is a nightmare as it is very hard to find and not conveniently located close to the airport. The restaurant is expensive and not worth the money. The breakfast buffet did not look at all appetizing. The room was comfortable and clean.”

• The breakfast was wonderful and the beds were very comfortable.
• The area was not amazing, but there is a very good Italian restaurant nearby with excellent prices.

“If you are looking for a comfortable, well-priced hotel near the airport look no farther. The beds were quite comfortable, the staff was amicable, and the included breakfast delicious!”

“Very Upsetting experience. Towels never changed. Room Barely cleaned properly. Access cut off 30 minutes before check out time. Broken Toilet. Iron board was broken and when complained no response through out 3 day stay. The pool is badly maintained. Coffee packets nervier replaced. so are soaps and shampoo. Utter disappointment!”

• Clean, swimming area, gated parking, free shuttle.
• Stayed Thursday, Sunday many business people during the weekend. Not kid friendly.

“I would recommend this hotel to anyone. The only thing is the location is hard to get to but the front desk is more than helpful in giving directions. The area is clean with gated, free parking. They do not offer free breakfast and their restaurant is somewhat expensive ($15 buffet breakfast). There are no small stores or fast food around so you must eat their. The staff is friendly, the swimming area was clean and my young children had fun. On Thursday and Friday I only saw business people and no children but by Saturday and Sunday there were families there with children.”

• Very hard to get to and so much spiders in the bathroom.

• The availability of computers and printers on the main floor was a big help.
• The availability of transportation was a problem. We have stayed in Secaucus and close to Jersey Garden Mall and both were much betters this.

“Pleasant, quiet, clean, adequate. One difficulty for us was accessing reasonably priced direct transportation to Manhattan. We eventually took the shuttle to the airport, then the Courtyard Marriott shuttle to Elizabeth, then took the bus to Manhattan, from the Jersey Garden Mall, which was a direct, comfortable run. I would not want to stay at the Courtyard Marriott, Newark again because of the lack of good access to transportation into Manhattan. Because there were 2 of us going in and out of Manhattan 2x a day for 5 days we didn't want the $15 one way tickets in from the airport, but something cheaper, but still comfortable. The two other options, each took 2 hrs through Newark Penn Station.”

• Friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, made me feel most welcome and that I could go to the lobby to borrow some scotch tape.
• Keeping the window open for fresh air was noisy from the highway, but the air conditioner was also noisy.

• Friendly, clean, great food, great take out, great staff, gym, free shuttle, free internet which equals excellence.
• (1)Only had pork meats for breakfast (2) Need more variety sandwiches in concession area.

“I hate to criticize this hotel at all because I had one of the best times of my life and certainly the best birthday week ever! It was quiet, clean, the staff was extremely accommodating and the free shuttle to the airport was great and it only took the half hour to get to Manhattan once I got on the NJ transit. It was a heavenly time. And I felt safe even though I didn't see any security officers. Thank you.”

• Did not get a king-size bed as requested. Shuttle driver kept talking on cell phone while driving in NJ traffic, dangerous.

• Public areas were conducive to the business we needed to conduct. Room was clean, staff very helpful. Good location right outside of Newark liberty.
• Everything was good.

“Our stay was short but pleasurable. We only stayed for a quick overnight on our way to NYC but had a business meeting in the lobby before heading to the city. The lobby was the perfect setting for this; the buffet breakfast was nice, the staff very helpful, the room clean. Wireless internet was a definite plus.”

• Parking fee kills me at $20.00 per night!

• Very helpful restaurant staff. Laundry with free supplies at desk and a great little store with good food.
• Very difficult to find, airport shuttle is very slow to pickup at airport. Waited 1/2 hour.

“This hotel had everything that we needed. The restaurant had great food reasonably priced for the area and extended hours. Nice pool and lobby area. Beer and wine is available from the restaurant. If the rooms had had a mini fridge it would have been a perfect stay. I am now a future courtyard customer.”

• A bit tricky to find if you're driving.

“Driving in our car couldn't even find this place! Leaving us 2 miles from the hotel at 2am very lost, we called the hotel and ivy at the desk was amazing as he talked us in (at the same time as someone else!) with the patience and precision of an air traffic controller. He put us in an upgrade suite (all that was left) which was great. Gated parking. Good service. Going into Manhattan a little troublesome but a very nice overall stay.”

• Apples every morning, van ride to Newark airport every half an hour.
• Had to specifically ask to have our room cleaned three times, room did not get cleaned for 3 days out of 10 days stay.

• Restaurant opens for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Staff was amazing.
• Bar and lounge is too small; not open late.

“Extremely friendly staff, felt as if I were being pampered (I guess that's good), being recognized as a Marriott elite member is a plus, thanks for the welcome gifts (cookies, traveling welcome gift bag and water), and 24 hour shuttle bus to and from the airport. I thought I was booked at the full service hotel at the airport but when I found out that it was here instead and the price was way cheaper, I didn¿t mind. After all, I prefer this smaller and comfortable setting instead. Great hotel for business travelers.”

• The location, need to drive a long way if taken a wrong turn.

“The rooms and the staff of the hotel is great. They are very helpful and friendly. The hotel provides parking and shuttle to the airport is a big plus. However, the location is not ideal since it is off of a highway and it is difficult to get to if taken a wrong turn. I remember the taxi driver drove me to the Marriott and not the Courtyard. It took him an extra 90cent toll and another 20minutes or so to get me home. The Marriott is just on the other side of the airport, and it should not take longer then 5 minutes to get back to the courtyard. Therefore, I think the location is not the easiest to get to compare to other hotels.”

• Location is bad, pool closes early. Shuttle service s.

“This place is nearly impossible to get to. It's on a one way street between 2 highway systems, you really have to know every exit to take to get here, and I had to help the taxi drivers just get there. They only use 1 shuttle for the airport between 3 hotels; it can take 45 minutes to get to the airport which is a 5 minute drive away. It was very incontinent; don't stay here if you plan on vacationing to Manhattan.”

• This was a perfect one-night stay-over between trips.
• We had a long wait for the shuttle even though other hotel shuttles came more than once.

“This hotel served well as a one-night stay between trips at the airport. It was clean, although having just changed all their rooms to non-smoking (the day before) we received a previous smoking room which certainly smelled like it. We enjoyed the public computer, laundry room, and pool and were even able to purchase stamps. The buffet breakfast was very nice, though not included in the price. For the amount we paid, we were pleased with the room and accommodations.”

“Our toilet was broke. While the staff was prompt in fixing it, the toilet keep breaking. This made things a little difficult, especially with 3 women in a room! We ordered chicken tenders and wing dings for an appetizer. Both were very over cooked. Otherwise, the staff were very friendly and accommodating Overall, I would stay there again if I'm in the Newark area since I finally figured out how to get to the hotel. It's very difficult.”

• Location was near airport, but it took us 20 minutes to find it.

• Close to airport, good tram service to airport.
• You can not find it without expert help.

“We have always liked Courtyard and this location was up to scale . The rub is that it is located in a jumble of freeways and you need to be borne there to understand the mess. Go to the airport, call the tram and let their driver fight the traffic and the freeway jumble.”

• It was an excellent choice - accommodating, comfortable, friendly.
• We did not get to spend much time at the hotel.

“I would strongly recommend this hotel. The staff were very efficient, friendly and professional. They had coffee, cookies and fruit available in the lobby as well as a restaurant and exercise room and pool. The hotel decor was also very warm and inviting. The shuttle drivers were most accommodating too. I wish we could have spent more time there.”

• Missing a few amenities e.g. lotion, hair conditioner, shuttle wait only on the half hour.

“Overall, the experience was favorable, the rooms were clean, I felt safe and the staff was very helpful. They had one computer for guest use which was not that busy but still there was a wait and others sitting over your shoulder waiting. The complimentary cookies in the evening were a welcomed treat. Would definitely stay here again.”

• Tram does not go directly to the terminal. If you have a lot of luggage it is a hassle.
