• The service was amazing, the room was spotless and the bed was so comfortable.
• There was nothing about this hotel that was not good.

“This hotel was right by the airport their shuttle service ran every 20 minutes. From their driver to the people in room service, everyone made you feel like you were the only guest. It was an absolute delight to stay there. I wish it could have been longer. It will definitely be on our stop the next time we are in New Jersey.”

• The lobby is really nice.
• You have to pay $10 parking fee per day.

“The hotel itself is nice. However when we got there with my family at around midnight, there were 3-4 persons in the corridors, seating and waiting. They do not have wireless internet connection in the rooms so you'll have to go downstairs to use it. The decor in the rooms was OK. All the rooms had a flat screen TV. The bathrooms are ok, but in my opinion they need to be upgraded. In one of the rooms we had water in the carpet next to the bathroom. We did not complain because we were tired and were leaving early the next day. The staff is really friendly and helpful.”

“This hotel kept with Marriot tradition, good food, good people, comfortable surroundings and very clean. Nicely appointed room with a refrigerator and large desk area and large flat screen TV. It was a comfortable stay for me!”

• The decor. Clean rooms. Full service including shuttle.
• Remote location for New York.

“Overall very satisfactory. There was an exercise room with treadmill, weight lifting. Also had a pool. Internet accessibility per computer. Shuttle service. Definitely designed for the traveling business person. The chicken we had at the restaurant was over cooked and over priced. The service was good though. Although one of the staff accused us of wanting to share my husbands dinner when I declined to order because I wasn't hungry. I ordered a sandwich to go to appease him. I would have rated the hotel as excellent if it were not for my experience in the restaurant.”

• Staff was very friendly and helpful. I really like the 24hr shuttle service.
• The paper runners on top of the tables in the Liberty Grille takes away from the atmosphere. All of the TV's had a sports event. Nothing for chicks.

“The Renaissance hotel was very clean, and elegant, and the staff was very attentive and polite. I would like to have had access to a coffee station as I had an early flight out of ever and had to catch the 5:00 a.m. shuttle. I had to wait until I got to the airport to get some coffee. With the exception of the paper runners on the tops of the tables, overall, the food at the Liberty Grille was good as was the wait staff.”

• The service was very good and I enjoyed the large room, with plenty of space for business work; bed was great too.
• For the first day, I had no hot water - apparently due to some renovation activity? I did mention it - but had no action until the night I was leaving.

“This hotel was nice, located close by, with a shuttle service. But when I got there around 10 p.m., they didn't have any rooms. I had to wait about 45 min, they bought me a drink, but I was tired and it was inconvenient. Also, wireless service in the room would have been nice.”

“I was very unhappy with my recent stay due to poor customer service. My husband got stuck in the elevator- pressed the call button and 30 minutes later the call button was still ringing- my husband was able to get out of the elevator thanks to another guest- He went down to the lobby to let them know the alarm was still ringing- they were very unconcerned- I am just glad it was not a real emergency!”

• Extremely clean and upscale hotel. Just remodeled and all of the rooms are 5 star.
• Wireless internet is only in free in public spaces.

“Great newly remodeled hotel 5 minutes from Newark Liberty airport. The rooms are very clean and upscale. Large LCD TVs in every room. Wifi internet is free in all public spaces but not in the guest rooms. I wish they would offer the internet free in the rooms. Most hotels no longer charge for hi-speed internet. But I still highly recommend this hotel. 4 Stars!”

• Dirty room, lack of responsiveness, condescending staff.

“Stayed here on my way to Georgia, GA from CT. Had just stayed in Hilton for a week in CT and passed through Jersey and wanted to show the family NYC. The Hotel is 1-star quality. Room had stained carpet, dirty bathroom, hair in sink and bathtub, dirty floor, and condescending staff. Don't stay here unless you are a trucker passing through.”

“It was extremely clean, comfortable, plush, quiet, and close to the airport. Everything we needed (FedEx, Gas, Late night coffee) all very close by. Great security. Very friendly staff. Excellent choice!”

• Cannot walk anywhere safely and restaurant was $ with little variety.

• The staff was among the most pleasant, helpful, courteous and friendly people I have ever encountered. The room was spotless.
• The menu at the restaurant was a bit lacking especially for a vegetarian.

“Very clean, close to the airport (the one-way access road it's located on was a little tricky), quiet, nice pool, the best hotel staff I've encountered. Every last one of them was polite and friendly and helpful from the desk clerk to the shuttle drive to the parking lot attendant to the maids to the restaurant staff! I'd definitely stay there again if given the opportunity.”

• The beds were totally assume. The most comfortable beds we stayed in the whole week of vacation.
• The cost of breakfast at the hotel restaurant was ridiculous, over $50 for three people I almost died when the bill was presented.

“We got lost trying to find it but once we found it we were treated great. The room was good, we did ask for extra shampoo which was never delivered to the room. I would recommend this hotel to friends.”

• The hotel was close to the airport and bed and bed linens were great!
• Hotel was difficult to find because of the name change into Marriott/renaissance. We've first went to the Marriott airport hotel instead of renaissance.

“The hotel is perfect for a stay when going to NYC. With young children it is perfect to stay here, take the shuttle and then the express Olympia bus into Manhattan. They are still renovating but you notice already the renaissance taste.”

“We asked for consideration in taking us directly to the international airport--I was in a wheelchair and P4 did not have any available. I was told by the front desk clerk that they could not do this because the van would be stopped, and the driver fined and charged! Turned out to be a total lie--the manager agreed. Without incidence!”

“After construction is completed, when the hallways are not full of mattresses and construction materials, when the bathtub is not lined with residue from the anti slip mat that was once glued to the bottom, when the jackhammers don't start at 7 am directly below you on the morning of your 7th wedding anniversary and when you don't have to take a cold shower before checkout because the water heaters were turned off, this just may be a pretty nice hotel.”

“It was okay, being close to Manhattan, which almost everybody goes to the staff was unhelpful on how to get there. A shuttle ride to Manhattan in the AM and one in the PM would have made all the difference into the world. If that was offered, even for a small fee, I would stay there again. If not, I will never stay there again.”

• The helpfulness of the staff.
• Due to construction activity, there were a few power outages that affected my stay.

“The hotel is undergoing renovations, so this should be taken in consideration. The room was very nice and an effort was made to place me in a quieter zone, which was appreciated The JVAC unit made some noise and the lobby scene and the general appearance has a dated look. It was certainly adequate for my purposes as a business traveler.”

• Loud, noisy construction on the roof overhead and fairly unaccommodating staff.

“The hotel was very nice on the inside if you disregard the construction supplies in some of the halls, the loud jack hammering noise every morning at 9-9:15, and the previous guest's underwear on the back of the bathroom door when we arrived. For all of that, over 3 nights, we were only given 2 free breakfast vouchers, and a free movie. One of the breakfast vouchers were traded for free wireless internet (it wasnt usually free), and when I used the other one, the breakfast was mediocre at best. Perhaps when the construction is done and the Newark airport hotel becomes the Radisson, none of this will be a problem.”

“This hotel used to be great, but they are doing major construction on it and it is a poor choice for the business traveler right now. They are testing fire alarms, turning off the water, and the construction is very loud. If you need to get sleep, this isn't the place to stay right now.”

“This is the second time that I have stayed at the Newark Airport Hotel (formerly Doubletree). I have to say that for the price I paid, you can't get a better Hotel for staff friendliness, Hotel cleanliness, safety, and location. I would definitely stay at this location again should I vacation in the NYC area.”
