“This was my 4th visit to this hotel. Unfortunately friendliness of the staff was less than the future visits. The pool was nice and clean as before.”

  • Extremely courteous; very clean.
  • Access difficult from western approach on Highway 10.

“All pluses with two exceptions:1) Difficult to access from western approach on highway 10.2) Bathroom counter space is cramped and lighting is poor for shaving and cosmetics.”

  • The sheets!
  • No food except vending available late afternoon.

“I did enjoy my stay at the Westminster. The girl at the front desk was very patient and friendly. I'd been on the road for 8 hours and really appreciated her professional attitude. The bathroom was very user-friendly.”

  • Very nice rooms.
  • Parking is a chore and back of hotel hard to get to.

“The hotel has been well modernized and the rooms are very nice. The staff is friendly and professional. Parking is a chore and the back of the hotel did not connect well with the front so floors did not connect, etc.”

  • Nice pool with Jacuzzi, free breakfast on weekdays.
  • Bottom sheet always slipped out, no fan in the bathroom.

  • Bed was very comfortable and the room was nicely apportioned.
  • Hotel parking and elevators are in awkward places.

“I really like the staff, room, and bed. I thought the parking, location of elevators, and shape of the hotel was awkward. For instance the elevator in the back did not connect to the rooms in the front part of the hotel. Parking was just poor period.”

  • No fitted bottom sheet. Huge pillows.

  • Location, good sized rooms, clean.
  • Restaurant's menu was too limited and expensive.

“Hotel was great. I wish the restaurant had a "bar" menu or at least a more casual menu. I was there alone for business and wanted a cheeseburger or a sandwich and neither of which is available in the restaurant but only in room service. It was also very expensive.”

  • The internet access; the furniture; the location.
  • Too expensive.

“Overall, this is a nice hotel with in-room internet access and a good location. Although in the New York area, the hotel seemed over-priced for the quality of amenities. I would recommend this to travelers to the Livingston area, if their trip does not include commuting to New York City. Overall, the staff was professional. As a minor point, I requested no newspaper, but still received one. The door staff was very responsive and friendly.”

  • Lovely interior design, lovely bathroom, pool, excellent service, apples in bowls in lobby.
  • Can't think of anything!

“Overall, the hotel was very nice, especially the staff. I would definitely stay here again. My only complaint was with the continental breakfast. I had expected some fruit and maybe even cereal in addition to the pastries. Instead there was only muffins, danish and croissants (which turned out to be a day old because they ran out) plus coffee.”

  • Great swimming pool and spa, good shuttle for local.
  • Bed mattress is very uncomfortable.

“Nice small hotel with great swimming pool. I enjoy it very much. Nice shuttle service in local area. But with rigid schedule. Good decoration of the room. The bed mattress is very uncomfortable. We had one complementary breakfast from our meeting. It is worse than lowest motel service.”

  • Convenient to local family for visiting them.
  • Extra cost for valet parking (limited parking), bedding sparse, expensive breakfast.

“The rooms are cramped. The bedding is limited (we got 10 times better at the Crowne Plaza a 3 star). Valet parking means extra cost even though the valets were most congenial and helpful. It also means that the on-site parking is limited.”

  • I left the hotel.

“This was the worst place I could have ever stayed. The staff is unwilling to help you out. They have rules and even if it means the customer is right they will not change them. The staff is at best cut out to work at the Red Roof Inn. This is a over priced red roof. Stay Away!”

  • Cleanliness, bedding, appointments, staff.
  • Bathtub plumbing (tub drain was slow, tub water supply weak).

“Liked the unusual cleanliness and quality of appointments. Staff was very friendly. Did not use the pool/spa, but was very clean and inviting. Only complaint was the bathtub plumbing (slow drain and weak water supply). Everything else was definitely four stars.”

  • Im frequently on the road this hotel is by far the best run hotel I have been to in this year you will not be disappointed.

  • Attractive lobby, clean pool area, excellent restaurant.
  • Small room, poor parking, small TV. no concierge.

“As the only 4 star hotel listed in northern new jersey, I expected an impeccable experience. What I received was nothing more than your average Hilton or Sheraton experience - and in some aspects - room size, in room entertainment, parking facilities, elevator capacity and bedding quality - a lesser experience. Overall the Westminster is a fine hotel with an outstanding restaurant and an upscale appearance - it just falls short in some of the details expected by a seasoned traveler.”

  • I loved the decor and the furniture¿s in the room.
  • The bath/shower was small and the water pressure was low.

“Great hotel, I would highly recommend it if you need to stay in the Newark area with free high speed connection. There are plenty of restaurants nearby and at the great rate I received it was a steal to stay at. The only draw back of the room we stayed in was the low pressure with the shower. One night there were some loud guests next door yelling at each other, but after speaking with the front desk, they had security come by and removed them.”

  • Isolated staff were helpful.
  • I had requested a non-smoking room and was told I would have to wait while one was being cleaned. Then, I was given a smoking room.

“The hotel on the exterior was nice, but the service was severely lacking. I came here for a wedding and the shuttle service to the events were horrible. 1-2 shuttles moving 4 loads of people to a wedding and reception. They started shuttle service 20 minutes before the wedding and reception events. Half of us ended up late to each of the events. Poor planning on the logistics on their part. In addition, the hotel restaurant service was horrid. A group of us dined at the restaurant. The restaurant was empty and we still could not get service. 15+ minutes to get drinks and menus, we had to repeatedly walk up to people to get service. The wait staff just walked by us and ignored us while they walked to the lobby of the hotel to chat. What I was most upset about though was my hotel accommodations. I had a requested a non-smoking hotel room and was told I would have to wait while the room was cleaned. I had to get ready for the wedding at a friends room instead. They were supposed to call when the room was ready, which they didn't. I managed to finally get the key cards right before I left for the 6:30 reception. When I got back and finally, got into my room at 1:00 am, it was a smoking room. I called down, and they said all the rooms in the hotel were booked. When I spoke to the manager in the morning, they were rather unhelpful. They said all they are required to do is give me a room, it doesn't matter if it is nonsmoking or not. As far as he was concerned they lived up to their contract. I will definitely not be staying here again.”
