  • Location
  • Parking, dirty smoking rooms, online info was diff than reality

“When I looked up the hotel online what I was a beautiful building that promised non smoking and pet friendly rooms. When I arrived that is not at all what I received. There was a strict no pet policy and we had to take a smoking room. It was highly displeasing.”

  • The shower had good pressure, not the normal sprits I've seen at hotels.
  • The hotel was dirty. In dire need of a paint job and repairs.

“I did not care for the hotel. I should have paid the extra cash a night and stayed in one of the casinos on the boardwalk. The place needed a lot of maintenance, painting and was dirty. Our door, when closed had a large gap in it that you could see through from the outside. We had HBO, but most of our channels on the TV were fuzzy and hard to see. The refrigerator in the room was old and even though it was turned all the way up it still didn't keep our drinks cold. The hair dryer they offered kept getting hot and shorting out. And the distance to the boardwalk was a lot further than stated. Also, the parking lot out front can hold about 10 cars, but you were double parked. When we went to leave in the morning, we had to find the person parked behind us and ask them to move. The person at the desk claimed he tried, but couldn't get anyone and that is all he could do. Luckily the people left their paperwork on their front seat with the room number they were in and my husband had to go knock on their door and ask them to move their car himself. I felt if you are going to have double parking then you should keep the person's keys, or at the very least they could have done a little more to find the person themselves and asked them to move instead of having us do it ourselves. The 2nd day we were there, we tried to get back into our room and couldn't. Apparently, they issue you a new key card each day for security reasons. They claim in case you lose your card. Now the card didn't even have the hotel name on it, let alone a room number and we were never notified that we needed to pick up new key cards each day. That was a major inconvenience. The only good part of the hotel was the shower actually worked good as far as water pressure, but the curtain on the shower was too short so one end or the other was open and the floor would get wet and the tub didn't drain very fast. By the time we were done with our shower, the tub was filled with water. Also, the towels that we have.”

  • The convenient location.
  • Cig butt in the toilet upon arrival.

“The hotel was fine, it wasn't the fanciest of all but I was good for what I wanted it for, to sleep after going across the street to the casino all night!”

  • Man at desk was nice and courteous.
  • It was in a noisy area of Atlantic City.

“Parking lead a lot to be desired and it was noisy as mentioned above. They did have security cameras which was good considering this was a bad part of town. I realize this was a budget hotel and it was a good price. The electrical outlet covered by a nightstand was pulled from the wall. So was the overhead smoke detector. The safety bar was broken from the door. The carpet had mold growing on a part of it. I rented this room going by the Travel Lodge name. In the future I will pay more for a nicer better kept place.”

  • This hotel was easy to get to and within walking distance to the casinos and boardwalk.
  • The gentleman at the counter had no clue what to do with our online reservation.

“The location of this hotel is very convenient. The employees had no idea what to do with our online reservation. In fact we had to pay for the room when we got there, after having paid for it online! And a more knowledgeable staff member was able to reimburse us in the morning. The hotel room was very drafty. We could hear hotel employees yelling outside of our room in the middle of the night. The room was clean enough, however very dated. You could tell that there were attempts to make repairs by a not so savvy do-it-yourself. If you pay more during peak season for a room here you have been taken advantage of. This is definitely not a place for families.”

  • Free on site parking.
  • Everything else.

“This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in in my life. We had 2 rooms for 1 night. Room 201, smelled so bad that the guest were forced, after asking to be moved to another room and being told no, to drive home at 2 a.m. in the morning. Room 206, the bathroom disgusting and the AC didn't work. We really couldn't sleep at all because the room was so hot. So we left a 5 a.m. for our 3 hours drive home. It truly was the dirtiest, smallest hotel I have ever seen.”

The other rooms, the bathroom was disgusting and the AC did not work. We left at 5 am after not being able to sleep well due the temperature of the room.”

  • The room was generally clean (no musty smell).
  • Looked too run-down from outside. Sheets smelled of cigarette smoke residue.

“The property looked more like a cheap roadside motel than a Travelodge from the outside. The carpeting on the outdoor hallways were old, frayed and looked dirty. But the room was quiet nice if all you need is a place to lay your head. I did smell cigarette smoke residue on the sheets and pillow cases in my non-smoking room.”
