“It was a very nice motel. A bit old, but they are re-modeling. The employees were nice and the continental breakfast was good.” Aug 20, 2008 by
Matt from Baltimore, MD
“Trust me, trust me, trust me. Do not stay at this hotel. Locks were broken, no WIFI, no fridge in room, unsafe area, and staff was very unhelpful.” Aug 13, 2008 by
Sammy from Syracuse, NY
“Was good for the short time I was there reasonably clean and easily accessed.” Aug 7, 2008 by
Harvey from Highland Park, NJ
“Right next to a Fuddruckers restaurant, but, besides that, this motel is a bit isolated for the person without his own car. On a busy highway with an entrance and exit that can be tricky at rush hour. I understand that there is a trail that one could take to cross under the highway, to get to the movie theater on the other side, but this was too difficult for a senior citizen. In general the room was fine and clean. Outdoor pool good.” Jul 30, 2008 by
Melanie from Clinton, CT
“The worst place we have ever stayed. My husband, teenage daughter, and myself had to share a bed. Bed was broken, didn't go with boxspring, shower handle fell off turning water on and leaked everywhere. The place is located on the corner of 2 highway intersections, easy to go unnoticed and lots of parking lot traffic. Wouldn't even recommend to my mother-in-law.” May 4, 2008 by
Rajendra from Randolph, MA
“Very inconsiderate, fellow guests upstairs made trouble and noise for almost an hour before I called the front office. The noise level subsided considerably but it happened again a few hours later when, I guess, the guests finally left. Interesting issue, however, is that the day desk staff had no knowledge of the troublesome episode. I suppose they do not keep any records and communicate with fellow employees.” Mar 13, 2008 by
Kevin from Paramus, NJ
“Bed is too soft. can't actually access to the internet, even it looks like it has connection. I try to call hotel staff, and then I realize that room phone is dead. I called hotel staff by my cell, hard to understand her over the phone.” Feb 24, 2008 by
R.U from Edison, NJ
“The star rating is definitely non deserving. Hotel staff was arrogant. No cleanliness, Definitely not recommended.” Jan 15, 2008 by
Herbert from Casselberry, FL
“It had to many Hills to climb also had no security there were people outside my door carrying on all night , I tried to call the office at 3-4 but no one answered.” Mar 4, 2007 by
Kim from Carbondale, PA
“I would stay again if I had to.” Feb 15, 2007 by
Jo A. from Lansdale, PA
“I am a female business owner, who travels alone. The hotel staff was rude and locked me out of my room at 2am. I had confirmed a two-night stay and they changed my room so I wouldn't have to switch. I returned to the hotel after the show I was working at closed for the night and found my key didn't work. I went to the lobby and was locked out; I had to kick on the door for ten minutes waiting for the desk person to show up. As I walked to the 'lobby' and back to my room two cars of men watched me. This made me extremely nervous. I didn't get much sleep after barricading myself in the room. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. It looks like the local 'party' place, and seems to be unsafe.” Jan 31, 2007 by
Cindy
“I returned to my room at 9:30 pm to find they had turned the heat off in below zero temperatures. There was no wastebasket at all in the room and I did not feel safe at this hotel. It was pathetic at best.” Jan 28, 2007 by
Steve from Toronto, ON CA
“The motel deserves higher than a 1 star rating - at least 1.5 stars. It is a motel, with NJ route 1 just outside the office. The motel was economical, but you pay for anything extra ($10 for 2 double beds rather than a queen, extra charge to use the safe, etc.). A brief note though, the only 3 prong outlets were in the bathroom, so plugging in a laptop anywhere else wasn't possible. I had no bad smells in my room, and the room was fairly clean unlike other ratings I read before visiting. I had a seminar at the Hilton, which was only about 15 minutes by foot from the motel. Additionally there is a coach terminal in the same Hilton office tower complex providing commuter service to the port authority bus terminal in NYC. All in all, I found it fair and reasonable for the price I paid per night.” Dec 5, 2006 by
Roger from West Des Moines, IA
“Need staff improvement: got a room not yet clean! After changing the room, got a smoking room instead of non smoking.” Nov 23, 2006 by
Ben -. from Lagrange, NC
“This hotel is near the train station, but that is not enough to even think about going back. I will not be returning to this hotel and will not let any of my family and/or friends stay. Very dirty, I had to go to Wal-Mart to get a sleeping bag to sleep in because the bed was so dirty. I had to get bleach to clean the tub, shower, toilet and the sink before it could be used. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and the pictures do not reflect accurately what the rooms really look like.” Aug 29, 2006 by
Sue from Bala Cynwyd, PA
“Check in was fine and very quick. The room was dank and had a strong urine odor. the carpet was sticky and damp. The bed was clean and comfortable but the bathroom was horrible. Filthy tub! Hair and grease.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Aug 15, 2006 by

“This hotel did not merit the two star rating it was given. If this is a two-star hotel, I don't want to ever sleep in a one star hotel!” Aug 14, 2006 by
Bidisha from Laveen, AK
“Terrible.” Aug 5, 2006 by
Brian from San Diego, CA
“Not the best looking neighborhood. Little run down looking.” Aug 1, 2006 by
Jeff from New Brunswick, NJ
“Unfriendly staff, room not ready at 5.30pm, could not find non-smoking room, smelly air-condition in room. Remote for TV did not work - took it to reception and they stated I must bang it - it still did not work. Maids did not come until after 4.00pm to clean room.” Jul 18, 2006 by
Scott from Bel Air, MD
“The room was for 2 adult males during checking the manager said he only had a room with a queen size bed had to really complain to get the room switched to a double bed. very very slow check in. Once checked in, all the students were partying they were loud drinking cursing and swearing all night long. When leaving there were beer bottles and cans all over the place and on top of my car needless to say there was no sleeping called the manager and nothing was done about the situation. ” Jul 12, 2006 by
Ira from Port Jefferson, NY
“Certainly not 2 star quality, dirty, safe, limited guest amenities (bulbs missing, towels for one, no toilet paper).” Jul 10, 2006 by
Serdar from Cookeville, TN
“The hotel has a swimming pool, but it is almost always closed. This old hotel needs more improvement and polite staff.” Jul 10, 2006 by
Teresa from Holiday, FL
“Needs to clean up its act pool was GREEN but children (not mine) we in it (yuck). The night we checked in there were about 20 loud guys hanging over railing spitting and throwing cig. butts on ground and breaking lights and yelling at us. Police tape on stairwell, every night drinking in parking lot security didn't do anything to break it up mold visibly growing in bathroom not pleasant plus $50.00 is missing from my belongings nice huh?” Jul 4, 2006 by
Daniel from Sparta, NJ
“It is a hit or miss - sometimes you get a decent room with working appliances and other times you do not. Ask for a room closer to the front; since the hotel is outside, it is more like a motel and it is not the safest at night for those traveling by themselves in the back area of the buildings. Rooms could definitely use new furnishings and could be cleaned properly. It often looks like someone ran through and tried to clean the room in 2 minutes. This hotel should be listed as a one-star hotel because it does not maintain the standards of a typical two star hotel.” Jul 1, 2006 by
Mike from Republic, OH
“Nice hotel, good facilities, free continental breakfast, nice pool, good air conditioning, friendly staff.” Jun 24, 2006 by
Irina from Carmichael, CA
“This is one of the worst hotel that I stayed in. It is run down and needs updating. Poor quality beds and linens. Pool was not working. Internet only worked in the lobby. I would never stay at this hotel again.” Jun 18, 2006 by
Brian from Fair Lawn, NJ
“I expected it to be a cheap hotel, but this was slightly below my expectations. The bathroom was not very clean and it took a long time for me to get hot water. Also the remote for the TV didn't work.” Jun 17, 2006 by
Angela from Feeding Hills, MA
“The hotel was no where near my Mother's, It was inconvenient, BLOOD was on one of the pillows, The Free Wireless Internet did not work... You could call the 1-800 number BUT you had to pay for that... The Television had to be banged on to watch it... The pool was green and disgusting. The top of the hair dryer stand was dirty and covered with hair.. The shower ceiling had hair all over it... Called room service for extra towels and had to pick them up myself from the front desk.” Jun 17, 2006 by
Aly from Cary, NC
“You should not call it a hotel.” Jun 12, 2006 by
Yang from Milwaukee, WI
“I found several ants and spiders in the room. Moreover, the smell is really horrible. I can not believe it is a 2-star hotel. It is worse than most of the motels. Be careful.” May 24, 2006 by
Katherine from New Cumberland, PA
“A little bit older, room was clean, bathroom functional. room had little coffeemaker in the bathroom, a small table with two chairs, an ironing board and iron and , of course, a television with remote. I don't think it had any Internet hook ups or anything like that.” May 22, 2006 by
Hersh from Cerritos, CA
“Overall good. But they should have more knowledgeable staff about the surrounding locations.” May 4, 2006 by
Melinda F. from Easthampton, MA
“Overall, I'm not impressed with the hotel. The rooms need some work - they look old and tired and the beds aren't very comfortable.” May 3, 2006 by
Nate from Newark, NJ
“Needs a coat of paint not bad but not premium.” May 1, 2006 by
Susan from Beverly, MA
“This hotel is just adequate. The rooms are cheap, poorly-lit and seedy. Still, if you're looking for a good, cheap location near Rutgers or the pharmaceutical companies, it's not bad in that respect.” Apr 26, 2006 by
Evette from Bloomfield, NJ
“First, of all the hotel only provided one not even a set of wash cloths, it smelled, not clean at all, the management does not even care about the people staying their, noisy people over my head, the phone in the room did not work, carpet smelled, bathroom tub nasty, I had to shower at family house, sheets horrible scared to sleep on them, a leaky room right outside my door. Management and workers did not speak English, had to draw on paper what I wanted. I called ahead to make sure they had a crib for my child, they advise me yes, when I got there no crib, tried to call phone broke, so next day went to front desk ask for crib, said would be in room when I returned no crib, this went on all day and night and finally a crib brought to my room at 10pm that night. ” Apr 20, 2006 by
Eileen from Absecon, NJ
“If I had a choice, I would not stay at this hotel. It's inconvenient, rather rundown. Hard to get in and out of facility driveways to roads. Disappointed!” Apr 17, 2006 by
Hernan from Piscataway, NJ
“This hotel is for homeless.” Apr 12, 2006 by
Delores from Greensboro, NC

“The employees were polite and helpful. First room shower head broken and no iron, second room no clock radio, TV remote had no number key pad, only one hand towel, only 2 hangers, trash on balcony, had to pay $7 extra for the microwave and fridge. Only two ice machine in the hotel. Location: I had to drive at least a mile down the street to get to a turn where I could get on the road in the opposite direction.” Mar 8, 2006 by
Diganta from Silver Spring, MD
“There was barely light inside the hotel room, you have to work hard to comb in front of the mirror; bed sheets were not done well, only when I woke up that I saw dry stains on the bed sheet. I left the telephone charger in the hotel by mistake, and when I called they couldn't find it. I was put up in a smoking room, the air inside stinks. Not worth the money spent.” Mar 6, 2006 by
Bob from Red Bank, NJ
“Good if you need access to all major highways.” Feb 22, 2006 by
Lynn from Strasburg, PA
“No decent television delivery, terrible towels, had to have keys redone 3 times, maid left room door open all day.” Feb 9, 2006 by
Onsupa from Thousand Oaks, CA
“No light on the big sign of the hotel. I missed the turn twice! It should have been rated as a cheap motel. Lucky that I did not see any cockroach! The door chain is broken and is unsafe. The toilet bowl does not work right. The heater did not warm up.” Jan 13, 2006 by
Patricia from Marietta, GA
“Old, deteriorating, area not good either.” Jan 11, 2006 by
Disappointed P. from Peabody, MA
“Apparently there was some commotion during the night where a loud noise and a broken glass was evident in the am, the manager accused me of throwing a party and having loud people over where she was completely out of line and right of making those kinds of allegations.” Jan 6, 2006 by
Derrick from Wynnewood, PA
“This hotel was not a good value for the money. I have stayed at other Howard Johnson properties and this was not typical of the brand. The bathroom was in poor shape and the toilet overflowed when I flushed it. The wireless service did not work in the room and the quality of the room amenities was far less than expected. I was very disappointed.”
