“We stayed at the Tropicana for their New Years Eve festivities. To put it short, they were criminally understaffed. Casino floor staff was unresponsive and it took nearly a half-hour to find someone to get our card out of a broken machine, drink waitresses would take orders and never show up again, and worst of all, there was one bartender working the casino floor bar on New Year's Eve! Needless to say, there was little drunken revelry once the ball dropped, as nobody was even able to get a drink in the first place. We promptly retired to our room. We won't be back next year.” Sep 1, 2008 by
Kristin from Ambler, PA
“We love the Tropicana and have never had a bad experience there. We prefer the king size beds, as they are more comfortable. The quarter and shopping are amazing.” Aug 22, 2008 by
Samantha from Philidelphia, PA
“Come here, it is fun and reasonably priced with many amenities.” Aug 4, 2008 by
Jan from Palisades Park, NJ
“Nice place, but needs better maintenance. Room was not really cleaned in our 4 day stay. Pools were a big disappointment, tiny and did not meet the needs of a large guest population. Ice machine broken and not fixed the entire stay. On the plus side, restaurants were great (a little expensive), cocktail lounges were pleasant and safe, much to do right at the hotel and nearby. I would return and would recommend it, but would only give 2 stars, not 3.” Jul 30, 2008 by
Hope from Accokeek, MD
“Excellent entertainment, restaurants and shopping in one location.” Jul 25, 2008 by
Faith from Maple Shade, NJ
“When we got there, the valet wasn't sure if the could park our vehicle due to its size. When said they knew a place and put it there. When we entered the hotel, there was no line at the check in due to the lateness that we arrived. Doing the check in at home I thought would save time when we arrived but it made things even longer. We waited about 15 minutes in the lobby for them to get everything together. When we finally went to our room we were extremely shocked at the room. Unfortunately, there were little black hairs in the hot and it didn't seem like they took much time cleaning the rooms. Just room, we decided to walk around the hotel which was absolutely gorgeous. The food was extremely good as well. The stores were quaint and cute. When we finally went to bed the beds were a little firm and it was a hard for my husband and I to fall asleep. We asked for a wake up call from the front desk and didn't get one and the alarm clocks placed in the room were not set right. When we finally awoke the next day we decided to stay at the shore and keep our truck in the Tropicana garage. Before leaving we asked the valet to get our vehicle for us so we could place our bags in it so we could go explore the boardwalk. They did with no problems and when they finally arrived with the truck, they spun around the corner, the windows were all down, the AC was on and the radio as well. I was not to happy about that. But we put our luggage in and had them return it to its parking place for the day. After a couple of hours of walking around the boardwalk my husband wanted to go into the casino since he hadn't the hole trip. We stopped in Caesars first. As soon as we walked in people stopped us to try and sign up for things. We got carded as well on the way in which is understandable since me and my husband look younger than we are. While.” Jul 23, 2008 by

“I was very happy upon arrival because I had stayed at the Tropicana before and had a great experience in the South Tower: Beautiful room, friendly staff, great restaurants. I was disappointed this time around because we were placed in the West Tower, which unbeknownst to me a my fellow traveler, is not nearly as nice. Our room was not thoroughly cleaned before our arrival and I disappointed to find that overall our room was not as nice as the ones in the other towers. When we spoke with the evening manager, he really didn't seem to care too much, only offering that housekeeping be sent to our room. Overall I was disappointed, especially because I had been so looking forward to this trip and my stay there.” May 29, 2008 by
Nicole from Bloomfield, NJ
“I would go back for the night life; however I will probably not stay in one of their rooms over night.” May 27, 2008 by
Bryan from Roselle Park, NJ
“I am always pleased with my stay at the Trop. But the west tower is in some need of renovations. The Havana tower is a much better tower to stay in.” May 19, 2008 by
Christina from Fredericksburg, VA
“The hotel was great plenty of things to do. Great restaurants! I had a lot of trouble with my hotel room. The staff at the front desk was much unorganized. They were giving rooms to people checking in that already had guests in them. I had to go through hoops to try to get a smoking room. When they finally got me my room it was dirty. So they moved me next door to a clean room. Great place but the staff needs a lot of training!” Mar 27, 2008 by
Rich from Netcong, NJ
“Staff wasnt nice. Room wasnt that great. Beds werent comfortably. Casino lay out wasnt good. Dont think I would stay at the hotel again!” Dec 11, 2007 by

“This hotel was outstanding in all regards. The room was beautiful, the location perfect, the staff helpful and friendly. One can experience an entire week's vacation without ever leaving the Tropicana.” Nov 20, 2007 by
Ken from Yeadon, PA
“Enjoyed the quiet and convenience of spa and stores.” Nov 8, 2007 by

“The trop is lovely and I would stay there again. The room was clean and the staff was very friendly. The casino had a lot to offer and the shopping and food was amazing.” Oct 21, 2007 by
Tim from New Philadelphia, PA
“Was not impressed with hotel at all. Will not be staying there again. I thought I was at an economy lodge when I walked in room.” Oct 12, 2007 by
Bruce from Newport News, VA
“Ive stayed at other casino-hotels in the past. The layout, restaurants, etc. Were fine. However the room was disappointing, while clean, it was in need of refurbishing. Two light bulbs were burned out, a small refrigerator was sitting on the floor, and there was no amenity package in the room.” Sep 21, 2007 by
Wes from Williamsburg, VA
“The route from the parking area to the check-in is very long and confusing. There are no signs indicating where to go.” Sep 18, 2007 by
Kevin from Baltimore, MD
“The rooms here are not what I would expect from a hotel pulling in millions from gamblers. The room was your basic quality inn type, it just happened to be on the 41st floor. The convinced to the casino and good food was great. Good enough if you want a room on the boardwalk. But wouldn't pay those prices when I could get better else where for the same amount.” Sep 17, 2007 by
James from Bel Air, MD
“We arrived late with the room ready. Service was good, but the elevators were slow and at times full of people making using them difficult to get to or from the room.” Aug 14, 2007 by
Lorraine from Washington, DC
“Everyone whom I encountered in the hotel was very helpful and pleasant.” Jul 29, 2007 by
meredith from boiling springs
“When we arrived, we were "upgraded" to the new Havana Tower. We had to wait for 3 hours, with 3 exhausted kids and handfuls of stuff, but thought it would be great because of this "upgrade". However, we did not realize it would be a 10-15 minute walk anytime we wanted to get outside the hotel. The pools and facilities were fine and the staff seemed friendly enough. By the end of our 2 days there, though, our leg muscles were really sore! If you have small children, Do not stay in the Havana Tower! Both of the other towers are much closer to the boardwalk exit and have pools on the 3rd floor. If you don't mind spending the majority of your time inside the resort (all the shops are very upscale and expensive) shopping or gambling, this would be a great place.” Jul 21, 2007 by
Marge from Philadelphia
“New owners do not do this casino justice. Lousy payoffs on slots, lousy comps. Treat regular customers like they do not want them to come back unless they plan on spending their life's savings.” Jul 21, 2007 by

“Wait staff in the casino was appalling! I could not get a drink the 10+ hours I spent in the hotel & actually had to pay $12 to get a drink the casino bar. When I would stop a waitress for a drink they'd say they'd come back & not return. Very understaffed for how busy the casino was. Otherwise, the hotel is nice but nothing spectacular. Housekeeping was favorable & provided a hairdryer within 10 minutes to my room. I stayed in the north tower which, is not yet updated, but room was definitely acceptable for 1 one. Location of casino in relation to the boardwalk & other casinos was really the only clear benefit of this hotel & the buffet inside had great food.” Jul 15, 2007 by
Angela from New York, NY
“My stay at the Tropicana was excellent all around. There was nothing negative with this trip. My fiancé and I are looking forward to returning there real soon.” Jun 26, 2007 by

“We are probably hotel snobs, but like being treated like we matter. And it was obvious that we didn't. We checked in at 9:00 with 2 small exhausted children and had to wait an hour for our room to be ready. The hotel was clean (especially for a casino!), but we were in the new Havana addition. The west tower was not so pristine. I had to go searching for kid-friendly restaurants and activities. The hotel was no help. We got the internet and did some research. The internet cost $11. My husband was there on business - and even that was made difficult when no one would direct him to the free shuttle. After much persistence. We figured things out. We would not stay there again.” Jun 10, 2007 by

“Stayed in the north tower bathroom wasn't clean , there was used soap in the soap dish not just one bar but 3 on top of each other, disgusting !!! the room was blue stripes with an old Formica counter/bureau NO refrigerator have to pay if you want one. The bed sheets looked dingy made me feel like they weren't changed. Also seem like a long walk to get to the casino floor which was cramped together.” Jun 8, 2007 by
Robert from Lewistown, PA
“Tropicana implies a tropical motif yet there was nothing to indicate this in the room or the lobby. Boring hotel. No bars or smoking. Casino cocktail waitress asked if you want a drink and then roll eyes if you say yes. Staff consistently lied. On the phone I was told that all the in room Jacuzzis had been turned into walk-in showers. Not true. In the casino I asked where the 24 hour coffee shop was and was told there was only a deli. Also not true. I definitely would not stay here again. I also doubt I would bother with this destination (Atlantic city) again. They know how to take the fun out of gambling. If I'm going to loose my money gambling I want it to be fun. There was no sports book for betting on pro sports either.” Jun 3, 2007 by
helen from hampton va
“I just came back and I was very disappointed this time. First of all not enough smoking areas in the casino and the ones that they have are very nasty. Not clean. Very dirty. The room was OK. The casino in my opinion has gone down hill. I will not stay here anymore even though it is free for me. Not enough people working at the slots.” May 29, 2007 by
Amanda from Harrisburg, PA

“This hotel has excellent staff, good location on the Atlantic City boardwalk and nice rooms at a reasonable price (Sunday night off-season).” May 18, 2007 by
Michael from Clarksburg, NJ
“The room was acceptable, but nothing spectacular. The service was appalling, (it took over an hour to get a corkscrew). The rest of the waitresses and dealers in the casino seemed angry that they had to deal the cards or get drinks. Which made me feel like I was imposing. I would never stay at this hotel again. I would feel better if I had stayed at a hotel with a fewer star rating cause at least I would be saving money and would be expecting the less than par service.” May 17, 2007 by
Sandy from Levittown, PA
“I liked it very much and would definitely stay again.” Apr 5, 2007 by
Edna from Bayonne, NJ
“Mattresses were uncomfortable, very noisy.” Feb 26, 2007 by

“Renovations are looking good. Really liked the new mall and restaurants, PF Changes etc. We booked late and got a room in the old part. It was fine clean, and just right for one night. Would definitely go back to stay in new part.” Feb 22, 2007 by
Josh from Mount Laurel, NJ
“Very under whelmed. The quarter is cool for restaurants and shopping but the service was lousy for this so-called upscale hotel.” Feb 15, 2007 by
Scott from Lawrenceville, NJ
“The hotel public spaces felt like we were in the middle of 1950's Cuba: beautiful ambiance, nice feel of the tropics. We attended a concert there and were very comfortable with the seating and the feel of the room. Our room was very comfortable with nice amenities and we enjoyed our experience there very much. We plan to go back in the future.” Jan 30, 2007 by
Kate from Philadelphia, PA

“Newly renovated shopping and dining areas. Very nice restaurants. Friendly staff. Nice gaming areas.” Dec 7, 2006 by
Jamie from Mays Landing, NJ
“Overall the hotel was very nice. I think though, people should be told how truly basic the standard rooms are. Had I known this, I would have been happy to pay a little more and gotten a nicer room.” Nov 20, 2006 by
Karen from Linden, NJ
“Fantastic casino-hotel. Although near the north end of the boardwalk & the hub of activities as far as conventions go, it is a really nice hotel.” Nov 17, 2006 by
