• Location.

“The recent renovation to the hotel had to be sparse because the hotel appeared to be dated. The room was quite small and the bathrooms didn't have the amenities of a 3 star hotel.”

• Location was good, lobby was nice.
• No coffee shop (gift shop had horrible hours).

“I was surprised how old the room decor and carpets were (they actually smelled bad). Pool had so many chemicals your eyes burned walking into the room). Only coffee was from a bad gift shop that was only open about 5 hours a day. Soda machines didn't work on 2 floors I tried. Internet connection was wireless, but very slow.”

“I travel frequently for business, and I would certainly recommend this Crowne Plaza. The property is newly renovated has a very fresh look and feel. I was greeted promptly on arrival, and appreciated the great service throughout my stay. Found the rooms and beds to be quite comfortable. Also had a meeting in the meeting space and loved it. Was well organized and designed - allowed us to have a very productive meeting. Definitely the best value in town.”

• Great location. Staff really did their best to accommodate us.
• Under renovations, hallways cluttered and fumes of paint etc.

“This may one day be an excellent hotel, but for now it is scarey. It is under renovation the halls were cluttered with furniture the elevator was bumpy and felt unsafe. Paint fumes debrief all over.
However, the staff did their best to work around it. Also the breakfast buffet was expensive.”

• Comfortable bed.
• The desk was a hall table, too tall to work at; bathtub was badly flaking.

“The hotel was under renovation. The painters were literally painting my outside wall. The room smelled of paint thinner. They offered to move me to the other side of the hotel, and gave me a coupon for a free in-room movie. I thought that was a nice gesture, till I discovered that the Lodge net TV service was down. It was down for all three nights I stayed there. Some coupon that was! The finish on the bathtub was flaking off. The desk was really a hall table, which was several inches taller than a desk should be, and it was tiring to work on. All in all, a ridiculous excuse for a nice hotel.”

• They are very disorganized.

“They are the cheapest hotel for a decent place to stay. They are clean but do not go to any extras for their guest. They are in the middle of some renovations so the hotel is currently a mess. They should have planned it better.”

• Ants in bathrooms, weird maze-like layout of rooms.

“Overall, I was disappointed. I guess I expected more from a Crowne Plaza. The rooms, while updated on the surface, still had a very old feel, especially the bathrooms. We had two rooms (across the hall from each other). There were ants in both bathrooms which freaked my wife and kids out. Also, when I reported the ants to the front desk, they didn't seem to really care. Strange. The lobby was very nice but it took an enormously long walk to get to our room in the unusual maze-like layout. And then there was the small thing of charging a minimum of $3 for the use of business center computer. It served its purpose as a place to stay for the night, but it was not in anyway a luxury hotel.”

• Excellent exercise facilities.
• Front desk staff was not the sharpest group I've run across.

“During the summertime, at least, several tour groups stop at the hotel for overnight stays. Usually, these groups are made up mostly of children/teenagers, who can sometimes be load later into the night. The hotel does have a nice pool and excellent workout facilities.”

• The fitness center and pool are wonderful.
• A lot of tour buses made using the elevators at certain times difficult.

“The hotel is clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. While it does have its own restaurant, the food selection is limited but tasty.”

• Limited control over children and teenagers running rampant.

“I have stayed here several times and they always do a decent job. They cater to large groups, some of which are questionable in terms of behavior. The hotel was experiencing a problem with fruit flies in the bar. It was quite disconcerting and the situation caused us to leave the bar area. Overall, it is a good place to stay.”

• The rooms were pretty spacious & clean.
• Too noisy. Not Clean. AC did not work in the elevator.

“The rooms are pretty clean. The elevator was really dirty. I was there two days. The mess that was there when I arrived was still there when I left. The hallways were dirty. There was no control over the guests. There were teens running around the hallways at odd times. They were banging on peoples' doors. Overall not a nice hotel to stay in.”

• The fact it was in a good location and a full service hotel, where you could order room service.
• All was good.

“As usual, the Crown Plaza held up to it's reputation. The check in was quick, the room was very nice, and the room service was exceptional. For someone like me, who has an agenda when traveling, and likes to relax in room with a good meal after being out all day, it was everything that I needed.”

“I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights May 19 and 20 then again for one night May 22. I awoke with bite marks all over my arms and legs. I didn't know what they were. I mentioned them to someone who told me they sounded like bed bug bites. I researched them on the internet and discovered that is exactly what they were. In the morning I checked out I asked to speak to the GM but was told he was unavailable. The man at the desk took down my information but tried to insist that I was probably just allergic to the soap!”

• Very clean and has a very nice pool.
• I had boxes shipped to hotel for a convention. Asked them to call me when they get there and I never got a call.

• I liked it's proximity to the venue I worked at for the weekend.
• Limited amenities and everything overpriced expensive in the shop. Hallways and exterior decor are dated.

“Check in was a breeze and went rather smoothly. My arrival was early and the room was ready. A strong odor was present either from cleaning supplies or air freshener. Wake up call was on time and effective. No continental breakfast or beverages were available unless you sat down in the restaurant with an expensive menu. Ironic how a 2 star hotel offers these to the guests and charges far less. Gift shop/snack center was overpriced, charging up to 3 times the retail price of some items. There is only one restaurant within walking distance (about a mile away). The support staff (security) made it difficult for me to find and receive all of the items that were shipped prior to my arrival. They misplaced several key packages that hindered my ability to maximize my presentation at the event. They located the packages later without even an apology. They contacted me when a delivery was available with a rude message on my voice mail. The restaurant was outstanding in the evening, with a great kitchen staff and wonderfully accommodating bartender/server. Check out was smooth and timely. Overall, my experience was just below average, other then my restaurant experience.”

“I was expecting a 4 star hotel to have a small fridge in the room but there was none. They didn't have a microwave in a hotel for me to warm up the food I had. Otherwise it was pretty quite and good. The room as expected was cleaned for both the days I was there.”

“This is the second time staying at this hotel that I had to change rooms. First time Toilet was not working in bathroom. This past time the smell of urine was present in the room I was given. It seems they tried to mask the smell but it did not work very well. They did change my room both times.”
