• Fresh towels, clean rooms, safe location.
• Old hotel needs remodeling. I plugged my laptop then the next available plug for my cell phone was in rest room.

“Clean rooms, fresh towels, good safe location. Thats all. Very moderate restaurant, average staff, they need real training to treat customers. Very old hotel, nothing fancy, very basic kind of hotel, needs remodeling.”

• Convenient location, friendly staff, outdoor pool.
• The pool isn't heated. The hotel is tiny, only has 6 floors. It's a very plain-Jane hotel.

“If you don't have a pet there is no reason to stay there. It's nothing special.”

• The bed was very comfotable / bathroom very clean.
• I was charged a $20 fee and called to find out what is was and they never returned my call still disputing it.

• The location was great, multiple train stations going into NYC very close by.
• Thought there would be a shuttle to the train station but there wasn't one.

“The hotel was excellent. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and quiet. I quite enjoyed my stay there and would highly recommend anyone use this hotel. They have a pool, gym, and restaurants. There were lots of business travelers there but I think it would be very family friendly as well.”

• Not very clean.

“Therefore, throughout the night and early in the morning, there was lots of noise and ruckus. This led to a very unpleasant stay due to lack of sleep and rest. The hotel tried to accommodate for this, but the first 2 rooms they put us in were dirty/used or had a leaky sink pipe.”

“It's convenient location to 287 makes this a great value for the business traveler who is on a budget & needs a decent place to stay with free wifi. Having to the rent microwaves and fridge for 10.00 each is "nickle & dime" but at this price I cant complain.”

“As a priority club member, I was to receive coffe. I never once found hot coffee my entire stay here. Poor service by inattentive staff. Property reflects lack of proper management. Had out door pool only.”

• The waiter for breakfast did an outstanding job unlike the manager that was on duty.
• I had to ask the manager 5 times to have the guy next to my room stop playing violin.

• The rooms are very clean and comfortable.
• I have nothing bad to say, the hotel is great.

“I have stayed at this hotel many times and always look forward to it. As always, check-in was very efficient and friendly. The hotel room was spacious, neat and clean. The hotel restaurant Jersey's was visited during my stay and the food was great.”

• Friendly night clerk, no problems with very late check-in, check-out.

“Holiday Inn Somerset, though not absolutely convenient to New York City, Newark, or Princeton, is therefore quite convenient if business takes you to all three. A relaxed, low-key place, the Holiday Inn offers quality service, genuine smiles, and clean, well-lit accommodations. A pleasure to stay at, for the particular location needs of Princeton to New York City.”

• Excellent location and room amenities and cleanliness.
• Inadequately sitting in lounge for the size of property. Unsecured back entry into the building from parking area.

“Excellent property and very clean acceptable rooms meeting or exceeding my expectations. Property can do well by increasing the lounge area for sitting,and improving rear entrance security.”

• Clean, close to businesses and affordable.
• The amount of television channels left a lot to be desired and the hotel staff did not change the sheets, just made the bed.

“Good for the price, but it's mainly for people who will be out for most of the time, the room does not lend itself to people who will be staying in due to inclement weather.”

• It met our needs perfectly and price wise.

“My two sons and I drove there from Missouri to see New York City. We walked the streets of N.Y. Saturday and saw the Yankees play Sunday. We had a wonderful time. We caught the train at New Brunswick Saturday and rode the ferry Sunday. It was perfect! Our ages are 66, 41, and 36. Thanks for a great time!”

• Clean rooms, friendly staff, good location, good price.
• The hotel restaurant was a bar, primarily. Had to go out to actually get a good meal.

“Very friendly and helpful front desk staff as well as room attendants. Centrally located to Rutgers U, which is why I was there-moving one of my kids in for her freshman year. There are not many restaurants in the area without driving and the hotel bar leaves a bit to be desired if you want a good meal. Rooms and bathrooms were nice and comfortable, really enjoyed my stay.”

• The hotel rooms were clean and very helpful staff members.
• The pool at the hotel did not open until 1:00 PM.

“I had a pleasant experience at this hotel. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Room was very spacious. This was my second time staying at this particular hotel. I will stay there every time I'm in the New Brunswick, NJ area. The $10 breakfast buffet was a huge plus and children eat free.”

• Nice room size.
• Children running around lobby. 2 of 3 elevators not working, had to use service elevator crowded with cleaning people and supplies at check out!

“This hotel is below average and is run by "younger" employees that are not concerned about the comforts of their guests, but rather congregating around the check-in desk "hanging out" with co-workers. The lobby TV and the "courtesy" computer room were monopolized by children with nothing better to do. Not recommended for somebody looking for a romantic getaway or business traveler, but more for the parent.”

• The bed, linens, furnishings were updated and comfortable.
• The seal on the complimentary mouthwash was opened, made me wonder if everything was cleaned/inspected.

• Restaurant staff was a little unfriendly only used for breakfast; the sports lounge was very nice.

• Location was convenient.
• Never greeted by hotel staff, very unfriendly.

“We were expecting a nicer hotel for a 3 star. The interior was attractive but the outside was not. The only extra amenity was the outside pool which, despite the 80+ weather, was not open because they did not have a scheduled life guard. Our children were very disappointed. Once we came back late to find the back hotel doors open, we told a staff member who didn't really care. The second night we came back to our actual hotel room door still open ajar from the cleaning personnel. Thankfully nothing was missing. So you can say that we did not enjoy our experience, were thoroughly disappointed in the hotel & staff and are thankful that we hadn't paid full price to stay there. We felt like we stayed at an economy hotel. We will never recommend this hotel to anyone.”

• The price and the location
• They said they only had rooms with two full size beds when we checked in and we would have preferred a king. The pillows were not comfortable at all.

“Overall this hotel was nice and it was worth what we paid (it would not be worth it if we paid the full listed price). I don't think it deserves three stars. I think 2.5 are more appropriate. It is, however, very convenient to the Interstate. Although I didn't travel for business, it seemed to really cater to business travelers and seemed very convenient for business travelers.”

• Courtesy shuttle made my decision on stay.
• Renovation of restaurant and niter club.

“Enjoyed a couple of the staff members that consistently met/exceeded expectations; such as: Lewiston, Jennifer, Sophie, brain, and Brittany. Disappointed in the food and bevy manager and his ability to interact with guests. Also, disappointed in the laundry operation, i.e. Only one washer and dryer. Again, courtesy shuttle is what made my decision to stay at the hotel and the persons that took care of me did a great job!”

• The front desk staff were very helpful and friendly.
• Very limited water pressure for am shower.

• Hot tub & Pool closed. Bedding not as good as other 3 stars.

“Decor is beautiful Staff is courteous and helpful. Location is just off 287 and cannot be beat. Unfortunately Pool and Hot tub were closed. Bedding is not as comfortable as other three star hotels I've stayed at. There was a great business office for guests to use. Overall, an excellent choice for the busy business traveler.”
