“The Westin Princeton Forrestal is an old hotel. The staff told me that it used to be a Hyatt in the 1980's. The location is very nice off of Route 1 in Forrestal village. The main lobby is nicely refurbished. The room that I had was quite old. The carpet was stained. The shower did not work properly. The flat screen T.V. did not work properly. The staff was pleasant. Overall, I was quite disappointed with my 2 night stay in this particular hotel. I do not want to stay at this Westin again.” Oct 29, 2008 by

“Nice hotel for family traveling for leisure. I would definitely recommend it to anyone going to princeton NJ (or near by). I lived there and drove to Newark and New York daily. Cheaper.” Oct 29, 2008 by
Garry
“They are working on the hotel, so the lobby space is pretty cramped at the moment. However, that is not really of importance. It is a very nice hotel, and was just perfect for our weekend visiting our daughter (who was in New York, and who came to Princeton to see us and visit her old high school). Oh, the cable on the TV didn't work very well, but that was another very minor point for us. All in all, we had an excellent experience.” Oct 13, 2008 by

“Clean rooms, great service, close to airport, next to gas stations, banks and food and perfect for business traveler.” Sep 12, 2008 by
Lisa from Ross, CA
“Definitely under remodel for a reason. Halls and public areas were not up-scale. They should have had a concierge and welcome table in lobby with coffee and milk. Nice bar tender and very pleasant desk staff. The rooms were larger than the Hyatt where we usually stay and the beds were very comfortable, but it is further down the road from Princeton. Bring your own toiletries here, they don't provide much.” Sep 10, 2008 by

“I was disappointed with the hotel. The floors seemed wet, our clothes were actaully damp when we got home. The fire alarm went off and we had to wait outside in the rain for the 5 fire trucks to take a look. Then we asked for simple cups from the bartender to have the lemon water offered in the lobby and she took 20 minutes to find them.” Sep 8, 2008 by
Jim from Philadelphia, PA
“This was at best a 2-2.5 star facility. The building is under construction and is old and outdated. No snacks were out in the afternoon and no paper in the morning. The majority of the pool facilities were closed, the hot tub by the county inspector. I am not sure when this was a 4 star hotel but it is currently well below that mark.” Sep 2, 2008 by
JR “Construction of hotel underway. Old and not a 4 star hotel. Close to Princeton. Nice bedding.” Aug 28, 2008 by
Dc from Brooklyn, NY
“Not a 4 star hotel.” Aug 18, 2008 by
Anne from New York, NY
“Good for business travel and room was what you would expect for a Westin. However, I was surprised for price that TV was such poor quality and the pool areas were not well maintained.” Aug 14, 2008 by
Tony from Wilmington, DE
“The Westin is currently undergoing some changes. They are taking out the Sushi bar, which was excellent, and replacing it with something rather uninspiring. While the construction is being kept out-of-the-way it is still happening. There are excellent places to eat within short walking distance, and many more within a short drive. The rooms are clean, if not a bit Spartan for a four-star. Internet access is, of course (for a four star) and additional cost (2 and 3 stars generally do not charge extra for this service in my opinion). On the bright side, the staff at this hotel is absolutely top-notch. They are fast, efficient, friendly, and completely customer focused. I wish the airline employees I traveled with to get to the Westin at Forestall Village could experience the level of customer focus by the staff there and learn how it's supposed to be done!” Aug 14, 2008 by
Angel from Wethersfield, CT
“Great location, close to Princeton, restaurants and businesses. Hotel is definitely not a 4 star - more of a 2.5 to 3 star hotel. Staff was over extended and the hotel's cleanliness was not up to standards.” Aug 11, 2008 by
Jack from Dingmans Ferry, PA
“This hotel was adequate. It was a bit older and renovated. The room was bit musty smelling.” Aug 6, 2008 by
Doreen from Westford, MA
“Our room was in a corner with a view of a building and a big tree.” Aug 6, 2008 by
John from Rochester, NY
“Comfortable, clean and convenient, the Princeton Westin made my stay there a pleasure. The hotel staff was extremely helpful and courteous. The decor and atmosphere were soothing and pleasing.” Aug 4, 2008 by
Kenny from Carmel, IN
“The hotel staffs was not friendly. The hotel looks old and due to major upgrade. The carpet in the corridor and inside the room are very old. Not a four star hotel that I know.” Jul 29, 2008 by
Alison from Schenectady, NY
“Overall a nice place to stay, a bit disappointed that the hot tub was out of order as well as the ice machines on the floor we stayed & the floor below. Wish there was a fridge in the room, since the last Westin hotel I stayed in had a fridge in the room.” Jul 22, 2008 by
Karen from Washingtonville, NY
“This hotel was convenient to where I did business and convenient to nice restaurants. The area was easy to walk around. It does contain a restaurant, pool and fitness center but for a four star hotel it is showing a lot of wear in the carpet and furniture.” Jul 15, 2008 by
Kimber from Celebration, FL
“Excellent place to stay. Great location. Beautiful grounds and accommodations for everything. The staff was friendly and helpful. Superb!” Jul 8, 2008 by
Lannie from Davidson, NC
“I consider myself a very picky person so I am always keenly aware of my surroundings when staying at a hotel. With that said, the first thing I noticed about this hotel was the White Tea scent that filled the air. It was not an over powering smell but it made me feel more at home. My husband and I were warmly greeted at the door. Although all of the front desk attendants were busy assisting other customers at check-in, they were quick to let us know that someone would be with us shortly. The room was very clean and comfortable. I did not like the view of the roof but the double headed shower made up for that. We ordered from the late night menu and we were pleasantly surprised that the food arrived within 20 minutes. The food was a little pricy for what we ordered but I guess that is the price one pays for convenience. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and we will definitely stay again.” Jul 8, 2008 by
Stephen from Jacksonville, FL
“We have stayed in this hotel several times. It never disappoints. If you are not in a conference and are staying there it can be a little uncomfortable due to the conference attendees.” Jun 27, 2008 by
Ramiro from Copperas Cove, TX
“Located on highway 1.” Jun 1, 2008 by
Fern J. from Nesconset, NY
“The hotel is conveniently located to business facilities of the Princeton Corporate area. Staff is friendly and attentive. The rooms are efficient but too crowded. I had a room with two beds that should have had only one bed in it.” May 29, 2008 by
Andrew from Ijamsville, MD
“The hotel is located in a large business-park-like area. A Ruth Chris Steakhouse is under construction next to it. The rooms were kind of clean, but the staff could not get any requests we made (like may we have 3 extra pillows) correct. They kept bumbling over and over. It was laughable. The hotel communication is broken somewhere, so if you want good service it's not here. Also, the food in the Sushi Restaurant was of very poor quality. I'd eat outside the hotel next time. But it was convenient.” May 27, 2008 by
Nicole from Essex Junction, VT
“Fabulous location for me! I would stay here again! The rooms were comfortable with a great bed.” May 22, 2008 by
John from Urbana, IL
“The Westin Forestall Village aims for the upscale market. However, the rooms are small and the bathroom/vanity areas are modest and poorly lighted. The staff communications seemed poor: service calls were not returned, or room attendants showed up without warning.” May 18, 2008 by
Judy from Middletown, DE
“The location of this hotel is easily accessible. However, you may want to eat prior to arrival or head back out after checking in. The on-site restaurants were lacking to say the least.” May 8, 2008 by
Zk from Manhasset Hills, NY
“Great place to stay. Great for runners.” May 6, 2008 by
Scott from Oshawa, ON CA
“Great hotel for the business traveler. Better than usual food quality which was much appreciated.” May 1, 2008 by
Karen from Columbus, OH
“We've stayed at this hotel several times while visiting our daughter who is a student at Princeton. The location and rooms are excellent. This past stay (over a weekend) it was almost impossible to get any housekeeping service at all (even to freshen up the room). The first day I stopped at the desk at 6:30 PM just to let them know that no one had ever come. On the second day we were out again most of the day and arrived back at about 6PM-no housekeeping for a second day in a row. We made the beds and left for dinner at 7PM. When we got back around 9:30 PM we saw the housekeeping going down the hall just finishing up. Front desk staff was nice but obviously they couldn't do anything about the situation.” Apr 22, 2008 by
Tom from Takoma Park, MD
“Great hotel, great service. Not fully blown luxury, but very well done and the best in Princeton. Absolutely worth a premium over the other local chain hotels.” Apr 22, 2008 by
Matthew from Sayreville, NJ
“Second time staying here. Hotel Restaurant is a touch pricey but very good.” Apr 21, 2008 by
Annie from Braintree, MA
“It was a nice hotel, but not super deluxe.” Apr 18, 2008 by
Laurie from Warren, VT
“Great for business travelers not for romance or leisure.” Apr 17, 2008 by
Bob from Princeton, NJ
“If the HVAC had worked properly, the experience would have been quite different. But even with the thermostat turned down to 50, hot air continued to blow in all night long. And unfortunately, you could only open the window about four inches to prevent suicide attempts and even then, the thick curtains had to be pulled way back in order for any air to make it into the room. One electrical outlet seemed to need work. And as noted above, disposable plastic cups seemed out of place in an otherwise 4 star room.” Apr 16, 2008 by
Todd from New York, NY
“This Westin falls between a 3-star and 4-star. It is on par with the nearby 3-star Hyatt and Doral. Rooms and lobby are nice but not ultra-luxor, rooms have plastic cups and no flat-screen TV; hallways are generic like a Hilton. The first time we stayed here the pool was freezing; this time it was quite warm (but the Jacuzzi was lukewarm). Overall good, would stay here again.” Apr 7, 2008 by
Ed from Cary, NC
“Very pleasant stay with accommodating staff.” Mar 30, 2008 by
Polly from Jamaica Plain, MA
“Clean, upscale, convenient location. Four star, very pleasant.” Mar 25, 2008 by
Lesly from Lagrangeville, NY
“Good customer service, room was small and cramped.” Mar 7, 2008 by
Jen from Pasadena, CA
“Nice place if you need a comfy bed. The kids were bored but we spent most of our time in near by Princeton. For a 4 star hotel I expected a few more amenities in the room, a shower cap would be nice. One day we had no wash clothes, but hotel was quick to fix it. We would stay again.” Feb 13, 2008 by
Scott from Greenville, SC
“Great place to stay. Very convenient to NY and PA. Close to good restaurants and shopping. Indoor pool and workout facility an added bonus.” Dec 13, 2007 by
Marcie from Lincoln, RI
“This hotel overall, was very nice. The location is great and the hospitality is outstanding. It has restaurants both inside, and within walking and short driving distance, that are very good. There are also many places to shop right near by. The room was very comfortable and clean. It also has an indoor pool and Jacuzzi. The only thing that I didn't like was the fact that there was a big party going on, so almost all the rooms were full, and we ended up in a handicapped room. It was also a little loud because of all the people going to their rooms from the party. However, this is the second time I have stayed here and the first time there were no problems. I will def be staying here again and I would def recommend this hotel!” Dec 12, 2007 by
Ed from Hanover, MA
“I will be traveling frequently to this area and will most likely stay at this hotel again. They did not have a secure parking area (garage) but I was very confident leaving my vehicle in the assigned lot. Very little foot traffic outside and the lot was only a few steps from the hotel. The room was very clean and up dated and probably the most comfortable bed that I have had in any hotel. I spend around 30 nights per year on the road. Great value for the money.” Dec 4, 2007 by
Jonathan from Allentown, PA
“OK, nice property but it seemed to be a bit overstressed by all the activity it had going on. Perhaps they are short on staff but there were some noticeable signs of the property, which is relatively new, to be a bit less than Peristine.” Oct 31, 2007 by
Craig from Riverhead, NY
“Good location off route 1, friendly staff, good size rooms and bathrooms. Hotel can use updating of rugs, rooms could be cleaner.” Oct 18, 2007 by
Mona from Aliso Viejo, CA
“This hotel is very convenient to Princeton and the surrounding area. The staff is very accommodating and quick to correct any problems. I have returned many times to this hotel and have been very happy with my stays.” Oct 17, 2007 by
Elizabeth from New York, NY
“The hotel looked fine. Then we found our hotel room door wouldn't lock, it took forever to change rooms, no fridge in second room, no robe or any extras promised, a used bottle of mouthwash waiting for us. Disgusting! Cockroaches on the walls, found a large shard of glass in the pool area, very dangerous with kids running around. The staff was very nice though, the place was pretty, the bed was very comfortable, room service was very good, the pool and hot tub were wonderful (with the exception on the broken glass) I doubt Id stay there again though.” Oct 14, 2007 by
Gary from Silver Spring, MD
“The facility was serviceable. The hotel offered no amenities, but the staff was extremely helpful. The surrounding shopping center is largely vacant, forcing guests to travel some distance for food and entertainment. The hotel's restaurants and very basic and service is of a moderate quality.” Oct 11, 2007 by
Larry from Bronx, NY
“The manager should be replaced. The hotel is being run into the ground. Have noticed a major drop in quality this year. Dirty halls, elevator, and rooms. Rooms not being kept up. Doors squeaky, dishes languish in the hall, amenities not well looked after. Desk staff is not only mostly incompetent, but some can't even converse effectively in English. Attempt at getting basic driving directions was a disaster.” Oct 9, 2007 by
Larry from Bronx, NY
“The Westin Princeton Hotel is no longer deserving of its 4 star ranking. Manager Fournier has virtually run it into the ground. There is literally no one "at the wheel". Desk staff on check in was cold and sirly. First room, had A/C unit with bad bearings and could not be kept on, but windows faced noisey Rte. 1, so fresh air was not an option. Carpet was stained, bathrooms dirty. Some furniture was in disrepair also. Dishes put out by maids in the morning were still sitting in the unvaccuumed hallways until after dinner. Hallways and elevators were filthy. 5th floor "Starwood Preferred" lobby area morning coffee and token supply of mini-pastries ran out in minutes. Calls to desk to replenish were ignored and promises made with no intent to fill. Hotel is stingy with the amenities. If you provide "coffee and" for your preferred guests, put out ample supply. Hotel has no concierge. Desk manager claims all are trained to provide that service. Simple restaurant suggestions are not well addressed when I asked for driving directions to downtown Princeton (the town where this hotel is located!) one staff member said he didn't know, and the other desk person could not speak English well enough to explain how to get out of the hotel parking lot. It seems to me that the staff, which look good in their suits/smart uniforms, are being hired based on their diverse racial profile, and not on their level of competence to do their jobs. Even on the simplest tasks, like programming our room keys, we had to ride the elevator down several times to get our electronic keys to 2 different rooms to work! One chamber maid ignored out "Do Not Disturb" door hanger and banged on the door. When I pointed to the sign, she did not apologize, but pointed to a list she had been given to clean the room early. I used to love staying at this property when I visited Princeton. Now I think I'll skip 4 star bidding to avoid this place. The Marriott & newly refurnished”
