“My spouse and I have decided to stay at this hotel on our monthly trips.” Mar 31, 2008 by
Andrew from Reading, PA
“Very well appointed rooms, HVAC unit in this room was quiet compared to past visit here.” Mar 27, 2008 by
Jonathan from Philadelphia, PA
“Very nice place to stay, would have stayed longer if my flight wasn't leaving the next day!” Mar 22, 2008 by
Don from Afton, VA
“Overall it was quite nice. The staff did work out the problems we experienced. Although it took a while and did not offer to help us move to our new room.” Mar 3, 2008 by
Mark from Brooklyn, NY
“Very nicely renovated establishment with well designed modern decor, comfortable - clean rooms with all new furnishings, internet access, flat screen TV's, and movies on demand. They still have a few minor technical quirks to work out but the staff was very friendly and helpful and resolved any issues quickly and pleasantly. Convenient location for business or family travel to Philly. Breakfast buffet had many choices but the quality could stand for improvement. Grounds could use some landscaping improvements for purely aesthetic reasons. Pool renovation not complete yet and no hot tub, whirlpool, fitness center, or sauna planned according to staff - too bad, could easily be a 3 star hotel with those additions and some attention to detail. Overall, very pleasant experience and would recommend.” Mar 1, 2008 by
Tawala from Media, PA
“I liked this hotel. It served its purpose. There are a lot of good restaurants within a 5 minute drive. The beds were comfy as well as the room. The only thing I wish it had was a drawer so that I could put my clothes in. The heating unit was something left to be desired and it could have been upgraded, but that is minor. Overall, I enjoyed my stay, the staff was very friendly and professional. I would recommend this hotel for people to stay. The only thing is, they are in the middle of construction at the hotel and were very courteous when I called the front desk the day after I arrived and complained about the banging. The GM called me up and apologized and the banging ceased. I would definitely stay here again.” Feb 20, 2008 by
Cookerelius from San Diego, CA
“Slightly upscale, modern and extremely pleasant and helpful staff. The bed is outfitted with enough pillows to hide your pet elephant. The bathroom is immaculately clean and large enough to let your in-laws sleep in. Business style necessities and leisure style perks. An overall moderately lavish stay while only dropping the smaller bills out of your wallet.” Feb 13, 2008 by
Oliver from Lancaster, PA
“Long-standing renovations appear to be complete, everything is very high-quality. Room was nice, with central air but bathroom faucet had only one central knob (i.e. Only one temperature water, "tepid"-why is this upgrade?) Staff was very friendly and polite; turn-off from Route 1 is still a nightmare.” Jan 29, 2008 by
Oliver from Lancaster, PA
“Still under construction, but things which are completed look like high quality. Rooms are nice and clean, the fitness center is mediocre but there is a pool which is kept pretty warm (however it is circular, so unsuited for swimming laps). Free parking but the turn off of Route 1 is very easy to miss, and also dangerous if someone is close behind you, they need to redo the turn-in.” Jan 20, 2008 by
Mark from Frazer, PA
“The room I stayed in was nice but the hotel was in the process of a major reconstruction of the hotel & rooms. I would stay here after they finish remodeling the faculties.” Jan 10, 2008 by
Linda from Philadelphia, PA
“Once the renovations are complete I think it will be very nice. No room service available.” Jan 8, 2008 by
Oliver from Lancaster, PA
“Located off of route 1 in Northeast Philly, has a very difficult entrance drive to find and turn onto (make sure no one is speeding behind you!). Entire first floor is under construction, but there are signs telling you where to go. Rooms are very nice, central air, free wireless (or wired) Internet access, showerheads are very high up for those people who often bump their heads in hotel showers.” Jan 7, 2008 by
Kim from Greenfield Twp, PA
“We had to have the room hallway light on (as you come in the room door)-in order to have the desk light or any of the outlets along the desk wall to work. This hotel should have shut down while under renovation. Even the hotel front desk clerk had a hard hat on and a flannel jacket as we were checking out because the construction crew had the lobby all torn up! It was a complete nightmare. I am sure it will be beautiful when it's done. We got to see what it will look like when it's all done, but we wish we had the option to have stayed elsewhere while this work was being done. I might add, once again, that the hotel staff were very much apologetic about the conditions.” Jan 4, 2008 by
Elizabeth from Moore, SC
“I lost all of my money because the hotel canceled my reservations without notification and I ended up without a place to stay on the street with my kids. .” Dec 19, 2007 by
Derrick from Orlando, FL
“I am very upset with my stay. The hotel is currently being renovated. And, the lobby is blocked off, the first three floors and no in use and you can see it from outside. The room that I was put in had a three inch space under the door. I froze! Even with the heat on 90.very unhappy.” Dec 5, 2007 by
Mark from Seaville, NJ
“Hotel is centrally located just outside of Phila. Nice value hotel, but don't expect to use the pool area in the winter, the way it is built as a bad echo could not even talk to the person next to you without a loud echo, never had this bad of sound in a pool area, Rooms were ok, TV's need to be updated and a 1.50 to make a local call use your cell phone.” Dec 5, 2007 by
Lisbela L. from Hyattsville, MD
“The location for the Doubletree Hotel is just perfect, minutes or even walking distance from Movie Theaters, all kind of Dinning places and all kind of shopping stores. Just perfect!” Nov 21, 2007 by
Greg from Oshkosh, WI
“Excellent hotel. You get cookies upon check-in as well. Only downside is the location if you're planning to see Philly. However, it is only 30 minutes by Interstate (very durable).” Oct 8, 2007 by
Ighor from Brooklyn, NY
“Convenient to everything. Shopping, restaurants. Whatever you might need, it is walking distance from the hotel. Staff is very friendly. Fitness center and pool for relaxing. Overall, I loved it. I definitely recommend this hotel.” Oct 2, 2007 by
Barry from Winston Salem, NC
“Very clean rooms, friendly staff, and excellent bed linens. Different types of pillows to meet your needs, throw blanket for lounging.” Sep 30, 2007 by
Amber C. from Philadelphia, PA
“Not a very safe location or easy to get to from main highways. Very unclean appearance Inside and out.” Sep 28, 2007 by
Martin from Mahopac, NY
“Conveniently located with an IHOP nearby. Room was clean, staff was friendly and there was plenty of hot water.” Sep 21, 2007 by
Adrianne from Ambridge, PA
“The hotel was comfortable, I had a smoking room which was nice, as well as the restaurant staff and the night security being very friendly. My only dark spot was when the maitred basically accused me of smoking pot by the pool, I told him it was my cigar and he was very rude and condescending with me. He ticked me off, because he would not have spoken to others that way, I felt that because I was a single African American mom he felt he could talk to me any way he wanted. To me, for that much money, staff should be as nice to me as they would a white male business traveler, or anyone else for that matter.” 0 of 1 people found this review helpful.Sep 18, 2007 by

“This hotel has a convenient location on route 1. Even the building is kind of old but they can keep it nice and clean. No fridge/microwave.” Sep 10, 2007 by
Shannon from Albany, GA
“Friendly staff, but not close to any of the shopping or restaurants.” Sep 6, 2007 by
Alyson from Waterville, ME
“We found the pool a nice feature, but not well maintained. The rooms were clean, but rather no frills. The lobby was average. The staff made the place a definite repeat for us- they were very customer oriented!” Aug 31, 2007 by
Ed from New York, NY
“Hotel better than I thought and better than reviews said. We went to Sesame Place, and it was 15-20 minutes away, which was fine. It was clean, staff friendly, and it looks like they are cleaning it up. I'd go again.” Aug 26, 2007 by
Ighor from Brooklyn, NY
“Hotel is excellent for travelers and tourists. But, for people who travel for work and stay in that area for a month or longer, this is not an ideal hotel Doubletree northeast is an excellent hotel because of its location, very friendly staff, amenities and restaurants. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.” Aug 26, 2007 by
Amber C. from Philadelphia, PA
“I would never recommend this hotel because it is not very clean; staff is overall unpleasant and location is not convenient.” Aug 21, 2007 by
Johnathan from Woodside, NY
“Clean & comfortable place to stay.” Aug 3, 2007 by
Craig from Pa, PA
“Excellent place to stay for a night or a week. Staff was courteous and prompt. Entire place was clean and had a great night rest. Loved the warm cookies. I should have checked to see if you sold them too.” Jul 24, 2007 by
David from Bolivar, MO
“The room was very nice. No complaints.” Jun 3, 2007 by
Yashica from Baltimore, MD
“They charge 10.00 a night for a refrigerator or microwave. The electricity was out for a few hours on night I was there they did try to do any thing to accommodate us. I stayed from Monday to Saturday. Asked for late check out, Joe at the front desk stated they couldn't give me a late check out, asked for his manager. Then he said that's fine he could get it. What a stay! I can go on!” May 31, 2007 by
Catrina from Jamaica, NY
“It was a good experience.” May 29, 2007 by
James from Feasterville, PA
“Overall very good.” May 25, 2007 by
Michael from Old Hickory, TN
“The hotel was acceptable, but older. The hotel was clean and the indoor pool was nice. ” May 20, 2007 by
Lynn from Ithaca, NY
“Hotel staff was friendly, let us check-in before 3 p.m. and of course came with the warm cookie. Wireless internet connection was good, bathroom was clean. Sheets are snow white, sofa bed clean and soft. Lobby and hallway looks great. Location was near many big malls on route 1.” Apr 29, 2007 by
Chris from Huber Heights, OH
“For what we were looking for (easy access to major roads for vacation travels, no frills to keep costs down), this hotel fit the bill perfectly.” Apr 27, 2007 by
Joyce from Philadelphia, PA
“If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing and fine dining hotel this is your choice. Know you will enjoy your stay as well as the staff. For you shoppers there are malls all around. Irate this hotel a 4.” Apr 13, 2007 by
Sherri from Bear Lake, MI
“Hotel is in a strange location. Right by the city, but kind of in the middle of nowhere highway-wise. I'd sent written requests before hand which were not acknowledged. Room seemed as though someone had been in it for a short time, then was not turned over. 3 of four glasses were really dirty, I do not mean not thoroughly cleaned, I mean used and not cleaned. There was hair on the bathroom floor and in the shower. There was a sock that was left under the edge of the bed. The remote control did not work. I called the front desk about that, was put on hold, clerk did not pick back up. I had to call back. Maintenance man was nice and helpful. I put the card out requesting that the linens be changed each of the two times the room was cleaned (because the room seemed iffy when I arrived). Bed was made up, but linens were never changed. There was only one entrance to the hotel, which was a little inconvenient, since my room was as far as you could possibly be from the front door. To top it all off, the last morning of my vacation I received a phone call woke me up at 8:30am (my alarm was set for 9 and no one had my number, so I did not answer the phone.) When I got up there was a letter under my door from the manager stating the hot water was going to be turned off at 9am for maintenance. I found the phone call at 8:30 was to tell me the hot water was going to be turned off at 9. Nice I am not generally a picky person. I know you usually get what you pay for, that is why I am disappointed this upscale establishment came up so short. I would not stay here again. There are plenty of other places that are better for the same $ or less. I guess I should say something nice. The bed was comfortable.” Apr 2, 2007 by
Elzy from White Plains, NY
“I got a very good price on the room; it was well worth the amount I paid. However, I could clearly hear the conversation going on in the next room. I wasn't comfortable using the phone, listening to music or watching TV because I was sure the guests in the next room could hear it. The bed wasn't made right, when I turned down the spread the sheets had pulled off one corner. Also, the room smelled stale, as if it hadn't been cleaned or aired out recently. The fitness room was nice, but there was no changing room, shower or locker room for the pool, so I didn't use it, I didn't want to walk through the lobby in my suit.” Mar 31, 2007 by
Victor from Whitestone, NY
“Early Wednesday (March 28, 2007) morning there was a water leakage from the ceiling and wetted my bed and the phone was not working, I was forced to leave early. Went downstairs, since I would need to be back coming Tuesday for two nights, I had asked for a discount when I check in next time but they would not. ” Mar 30, 2007 by
Towanda from Philadelphia, PA
“The staff is very friendly. I feel that they should offer, complimentary breakfast to all guesses and not limited this offer to certain people. I like that they give a warm cookie to their guess.” Mar 28, 2007 by
Lauren from Houtzdale, PA
“Definitely not a 3 1/2 star hotel. I would give it a 2 1/2 star. Rooms were nice, but gave too few pillows and towels. Breakfast was not included in the price, and we were charged $9 for cereal and to make our own waffles. The breakfast wasn't worth $9 period and I have never ever stayed at a hotel that did not include at least a continental breakfast with the price. However, the price we got made it worth it and I will definitely use again. I would never pay the full price for this hotel; however, I was happy with the quality I got for the price I paid.” Mar 22, 2007 by
Jennifer from Virginia Beach, VA
“The pool should have the rules enforced. We were looking forward to this hotel because of the indoor pool, but could not use it because it was overrun with kids that were unsupervised. They were running around screaming and jumping into the pool on top of other kids. We let one of the staff know and they shrugged it off and said it's always like that. The cafe staff was very rude and the prices were outrageous. Other than that our experience was great. Front staff and housekeeping were friendly and helpful.” Mar 14, 2007 by
Dave from Binghamton, NY
“Room was very clean and presentable, amenities were good, TV selection could have been a little better. Staff was very good and concerned about our stay.” Mar 13, 2007 by
David from Ashford, CT
“Good hotel.” Mar 6, 2007 by
Sarah from Litchfield, NH
“Very nice. Enjoyed my stay very much. Great location.” Mar 6, 2007 by
Dominick from Eugene, OR
“Great mattress - good bathroom set-up good water pressure for shower - quality towels- close to shopping - busy traffic area.” Mar 3, 2007 by
Michael from Philadelphia, PA
“Better than 3 star hotels in the same market. Friendly staff, clean rooms.” Hotel Representatives:
