“Friendly staff but the hotel is a long walk to anything. Rooms look very outdated. Bathroom shower heads need to be replaced.” Dec 5, 2009 by
Phung from Philadelphia,PA
“I will not recommend anyone to stay in this hotel. The pillow have a stain on it. No refrigerator in the room. The staff is not honest, disrespectful and they talk behind customers. They told me that Comfort Inn does not own the parking lot, but the hotel staff was the one who charged the customer credit card for parking there. It's just a way to avoid to give discount parking for the customer. Parking is $23 in and out the parking lot, even you don't stay over night. Next to the hotel is Dave and Buster and they only charge $11 a whole day.” Nov 21, 2009 by
Kate from Elorrio,El Salvador
“I totally recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a clean and okay, but not too pricey hotel. The staff was really friendly. Everything was very clean. We even got a king size with a river view while we only paid for a queen without view. The breakfast was fine. There is a shuttle that drives you into town, but it only works certain hours. But you can easily walk into town, the neighborhood is very safe.” Oct 28, 2009 by
Irene from Burke,VA
“It took forever to check-in. I asked to rent a refrigerator only to be told after an hour of waiting that they didn't have any more refrigerators to rent out. The comforter on my bed was dirty. I specifically asked the cleaners to change it. It was never changed.” Oct 3, 2009 by
Mike from Buffalo,NY
“I'm both a young professional who simply needed a clean, quiet room, and received neither. This was the worst room in which I've ever slept. I am someone who can sleep anywhere, from my car, floor of my office, etc., but would not sleep here again. The room reeked of smoke, a broken phone wasn't replaced, and the hotel almost charged me $23 for parking while there were free overnight spots on the street. I will use Priceline again because this is my first and only bad experience with them, but would never stay at the Comfort Inn Downtown Philadelphia again.” Oct 1, 2009 by
Michele from Rego Park,NY
“My 12 year old and I enjoyed it. It was clean, the staff was friendly and the price couldn't be beat.” Sep 29, 2009 by
Catherine from Beacon,NY
“Decent quality overall. Comfortable. Clean.” Aug 19, 2009 by
Matthew from Havertown,PA
“This hotel had nice staff who helped me with anything Jul 14, 2009 by
Ben from Fredericksburg,VA
“fairly good value for the price....but a bit on the tired side...” Jul 2, 2009 by
Pam from So. Burlington,VT
“Suits our needs and near I-95.” May 13, 2009 by
Connie from Prospect Park,PA
“The hotel was very clean and accommodating. My husband and I celebrated our 22 year anniversary and found it to be romantic. We were very pleased that there was a shuttle to take us into South street where we enjoyed a meal. The shuttle driver was very friendly and courteous. We would definitely visit again. However, we were not happy with the $23 parking fee.” Apr 1, 2009 by
Kathy from Wormenster,PA
“Friendly and helpful staff with clean rooms and great location for sightseeing! The hotel shuttle was also a plus!” Mar 11, 2009 by
Diego from Brevard,NC
“If I needed a copy or a fax or use of the computer they were extremely helpful.” Jan 29, 2009 by
Greg from Wilkes Barre,OR
“Staff was great and located next to some great sightseeing opportunities. If you don’t want to sleep this is the place to stay. The noise from the traffic makes it feel like you are sleeping on the highway.” Dec 31, 2008 by
Katherine from New York,NY
“This hotel is quite convenient for people looking to explore Old City especially. We're walkers so we didn't mind crossing the bridge to get over to Penn's Landing. This hotel is great for accessing the Market/Frankford line that runs right through center city. It's also a 3 minute cab ride from great bars in Fishtown, just north of the hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would go back. Do not depend on the hotel shuttle. The driver called out sick the day we arrived and again it was not running the day we left. The day in between we had planned to walk around anyway, so this did not contribute to our enjoying our stay. Oh, and the hotel breakfast is more than continental. The waffle maker was a big plus!” Oct 17, 2008 by
Amreesh
“Very convenient since it is close to downtown. Minutes walk to Old City and Market Street. It is close to Penn's Landing and B.Franklin Bridge. Very nice view at night from the Penn's Landing. A bit pricy considering the fact that it is close to very noisy highways.” Oct 15, 2008 by
Chris
“The hotel was way over priced. The roomed smelled (for lack of better words) funky. It's surrounded by major roads and highways, which happens to be convenient because as soon as you get there you'll want to leave. Sep 14, 2008 by
Deanna from Marmora, NJ
“Mold all over bathroom! Just not clean!” Sep 7, 2008 by
Richard from Naples, FL
“Good for business travelers in the heart of downtown. But do not expect comfort from this Comfort Inn. It's rooms were adequate, but below-par for the price. Having said that, let me also say: the shabbiness of the room and common spaces were wholly off-set by the quality of the staff, which was excellent.” Aug 26, 2008 by
Pat from Phila, PA
“I think all hotels should have in door pools. Just love swimming.” Aug 20, 2008 by
Sandy from Lancaster, SC
“Great hotel, centrally located for all historical adventures. Very helpful staff and wonderful shuttle driver.” Aug 13, 2008 by
Chris from Richmond Hill, NY
“Great place for me. Easy to find, cheap parking on the street, and the breakfast they serve is outstanding!” Aug 13, 2008 by
Jean from Middle River, MD
“Excellent hotel with the best free breakfast ever! It also provides crib which is a big help for us. Staff is very friendly. We also can walk to the river and Metro station. The view of the room is good. Definitely would recommend people to stay here.” Jul 31, 2008 by
Oskar from Gaithersburg, MD
“Why someone would want to visit Penn's Landing is beyond me. Is Penn's ship still there? I think not! Otherwise, who wants to spend their vacation looking at Camden? For me, I would prefer being closer to Broad Street so that I can enjoy the nightlife to the east and the shopping to the west -as well as the architecture, which is everywhere. This hotel was not completely detached from all of this it was however not in a reasonable walking distance - instead it was a cabride away.” Jul 29, 2008 by
Mary A. from Pottstown, PA
“Close to major attractions. Penns Landing, Liberty Bell etc. Only down side was shuttle did not run the AM we were there and you had to pay $22/night extra for parking on top of the hotel bill.” Jul 24, 2008 by
Johnathan from Philadelphia, PA
“This hotel is no-frills, but you will love the exceptional customer service and clean rooms.” Jul 18, 2008 by
Changan from Riverside, CA
“The location of this hotel is just next to freeway, it is very noise. We barely can not get into sleep. We live on the 10th floor, the shower water is very small and slow. Plus charge of parking fee, It does not save our money too much. We all like its breakfast.” Jul 9, 2008 by
Chanell from Randallstown, MD
“The hotel representatives were not very pleasant and it took over 20 minutes to get towels. Overall, it wasn't very bad.” Jun 15, 2008 by
Myron from Pittsburgh, PA
“It is located across several major highways and is very inconvenient unless you plan to drive everywhere (note that parking at hotel is expensive). The hotel staff could not direct me anywhere and were very unhelpful.” Jun 7, 2008 by
Kara from Jersey City, NJ
“The room was ok, but the A/C in room wasn't very good. It was too hot. And the shower curtains don't fit well so water gets all over the bathroom floor when you shower. The beds were pretty comfortable. The parking was too expensive.” Jun 5, 2008 by
Dave from North Royalton, OH
“Nice room. Many positives, except not in a convenient location to the rest of the historic area.” Jun 3, 2008 by
Kathy from Ft Wayne, IN
“Rather pleasant and convenient for our stay. Did not have us in proper accommodations to begin with, but changed to suit us quickly. We did have constant problems with our room key which had to be recoded frequently causing some problems. The parking lot was a tight fit, with difficulty in communicating with parking staff. All in all it was a pleasant stay.” Jun 2, 2008 by
Joe from Glenshaw, PA
“Hotel conveniently located near Historical District of Philadelphia as well as Penn's Landing. All within walking distance! Hotel employees were very friendly and accommodating. The hotel bar/ lounge was a nice place to relax at the end of the evening. The morning breakfast was an added bonus. I would definitely stay here again if my choices were limited.” May 8, 2008 by
Dan from San Francisco, CA
“If you're looking for a not-special place to sleep and eat a big breakfast buffet that's walking-distance to most of the best parts of old Philly, this is a good choice. Rooms facing west get no view and highway-traffic white noise but I bet the east view is nice. Small rooms make it hard to lose things. Good for a no-frills stay.” Apr 13, 2008 by
Don from Portsmouth, OH
“The location is very good for Penns landing and the historic Philadelphia district. Parking costs about 20 bucks extra. The elevated train across the Jersey Bridge is very noisy and while it didn't bother me other travelers may find it excessive.” Apr 7, 2008 by
William from Berlin, MD
“Located in a central part of town, construction at the hotel was difficult. Breakfast was not well managed.” Mar 20, 2008 by
Tom from University Park, PA
“The staff was VERY friendly, courteous, competent, and helpful. We got a great value at this hotel that has a nice proximity to Downtown.” Mar 16, 2008 by
Mary from Salem, MA
“Perfectly-located for our visit to a family member in Fishtown. Great for a nice walk along the river in the morning. Once we changed rooms farther from the on-ramps to the Ben Franklin bridge, it was very quiet all night.” Mar 9, 2008 by
Alvin from Garland, TX
“I would consider this location as a last choice.” Mar 3, 2008 by
Shannon from Albany, GA
“Overall it was a decent experience. The staff was friendly and the continental breakfast provided was nice (waffles, bagels, yogurt etc.) The lobby looked decent with a few colorful pieces of decor to add to the mellow ambiance. Elevators were squeaky. Street parking was nearby but some meters were out-of-order and free parking did not begin until 10pm. Penn's Landing was close by but only a few restaurants within walking distance; shopping was farther. Located really close to highway (I-95) so it was difficult to fall asleep. Television did not have CNN and I couldn't access the wireless signal or network even though the hotel did have wireless.” Jan 28, 2008 by
Gaurav from Mississauga, ON CA
“Excellent room, clean and well furnished. Unhelpful staff, one lady, who was more interested in her phone call than assisting me. She apparently called a taxi which didn't show up. I asked her to call again, which she did and it showed up in 2 minutes. She didn't seem to notice that I had waited 20 minutes for a taxi in the lobby. Personal calls should not be taken at the front desk in front of the customer, making the customer wait. The man on duty the night before was very helpful and professional, so it is sad to see the reputation of the staff spoilt by just one staff member.” Jan 26, 2008 by
Ronald from Uncasville, CT
“Locater map did not show interstate between hotel and attractions local Subway nearby high noise level all night. Poor assistance from staff on local attractions.” Dec 9, 2007 by
Ginny from Center Harbor, NH
“This hotel was about what I expected, however, the desk clerk told me she didn't want to put me on an upper floor "because there are only rooms by the elevator or adjoining rooms and I never put single women in those rooms." as it turned out, I never felt my safety was in jeopardy, but it was an off putting statement.” Nov 20, 2007 by
Jean from Evansville, IN
“The hotel is not new. The windows were drafty. The noise from interstate 95 right out our window kept us awake at night. Although only a few blocks from the historic sites, we had to walk several blocks to be able to cross the interstate. The area is near the peer which is okay during the day but not the safest part of the city at night.” Nov 19, 2007 by
Fred from Brooklyn, NY
“Overall, a reasonably good hotel. The room was clean. The location is handy for getting to the Old Town of Philly, but it is oddly placed on the wrong side of the highway so getting to the hotel itself involves walking over a relatively desolate overpass, down a flight of outdoor stairs and along an access road. For daytime excursions into town in nice weather its not a problem, at night and in the rain, its a bit uncomfortable. They offer a free shuttle which is helpful.” Nov 12, 2007 by
Edsel from Shaker Heights, OH
“Located in Penn's landing which is a 3-4 block walk to Market Street. However, the free shuttle service is dependable and excellent. Breakfast is above average. Rooms are comfortable, somewhat noisy (next to the freeway) but great value at the price I paid.” Nov 8, 2007 by
Patrick from Woodside, NY
“Very friendly and helpful staff, convenient shuttle to and from city center and historic sites. Good location for visiting old city and independence national park. A little pricey, but not bad for a weekend getaway.” Oct 8, 2007 by
Nikki from San Francisco, CA
“The hotel is definitely not even a 1star hotel. Dirty rooms, elevators, and lobby and breakfast area. Was cheap, but next time would stay in a more expensive hotel to have a little bit nicer of a stay. Also, the "free shuttle" has a lot of stupid restrictions, such as does not operate between 12-4pm!” Oct 3, 2007 by
Martha from Newtown, PA
“They tried to send us to another hotel that was located more than 30 minutes away (although they said it was closer luckily I know the area). We finally decided to simply cancel our reservation and stay with family.” Sep 21, 2007 by
Amy from Reston, VA
“The hotel was very convenient to downtown historic area, close enough to walk if you chose to. I would recommend asking for a room with a river-view, the other side of the hotel backed up to i-95 w/ lots of traffic noise. The continental breakfasts were good but very crowded, not enough seating. Disappointed that the room rate did not include parking. Overall, hotel was a no frills stay convenient for sight-seeing and compared to other hotels in the historic district, the room rates were a bargain.”
