  • Friendly, courteous front desk.
  • Room condition left much to be desired.

“Good for business travelers in the heart of downtown. But do not expect comfort from this Comfort Inn. It's rooms were adequate, but below-par for the price. Having said that, let me also say: the shabbiness of the room and common spaces were wholly off-set by the quality of the staff, which was excellent.”

  • I liked the fact that I can park on the street near the hotel for cheap. Also free internet.
  • Only the fact that it wasn't in center city.

  • Excellent breakfast! We make our own waffle. It's the best continental breakfast ever!
  • The toilet water was running all the time. Street noise cause it's close to highway.

“Excellent hotel with the best free breakfast ever! It also provides crib which is a big help for us. Staff is very friendly. We also can walk to the river and Metro station. The view of the room is good. Definitely would recommend people to stay here.”

  • It was detached from downtown and the parking was expensive.

“Why someone would want to visit Penn's Landing is beyond me. Is Penn's ship still there? I think not! Otherwise, who wants to spend their vacation looking at Camden? For me, I would prefer being closer to Broad Street so that I can enjoy the nightlife to the east and the shopping to the west -as well as the architecture, which is everywhere. This hotel was not completely detached from all of this it was however not in a reasonable walking distance - instead it was a cabride away.”

  • Next to the freeway, it is extremely noise.

“The location of this hotel is just next to freeway, it is very noise. We barely can not get into sleep. We live on the 10th floor, the shower water is very small and slow. Plus charge of parking fee, It does not save our money too much. We all like its breakfast.”

  • The room A/C was terrible.

“The room was ok, but the A/C in room wasn't very good. It was too hot. And the shower curtains don't fit well so water gets all over the bathroom floor when you shower. The beds were pretty comfortable. The parking was too expensive.”

  • Convenient to tourist attractions, accommodations were adequate and clean staff friendly.
  • Parking accommodations were tight, cost of nightly and guest parking were high.

“Rather pleasant and convenient for our stay. Did not have us in proper accommodations to begin with, but changed to suit us quickly. We did have constant problems with our room key which had to be recoded frequently causing some problems. The parking lot was a tight fit, with difficulty in communicating with parking staff. All in all it was a pleasant stay.”

  • Overpriced.

“Hotel conveniently located near Historical District of Philadelphia as well as Penn's Landing. All within walking distance! Hotel employees were very friendly and accommodating. The hotel bar/ lounge was a nice place to relax at the end of the evening. The morning breakfast was an added bonus. I would definitely stay here again if my choices were limited.”

  • Staff were rather curt with me and the lobby bar was expensive.

“If you're looking for a not-special place to sleep and eat a big breakfast buffet that's walking-distance to most of the best parts of old Philly, this is a good choice. Rooms facing west get no view and highway-traffic white noise but I bet the east view is nice. Small rooms make it hard to lose things. Good for a no-frills stay.”

  • I liked the king-size bed and the spaciousness of the room.
  • It was close to the highway so it was noisy and thus some residents were a little boorish; hard to find street parking.

“Overall it was a decent experience. The staff was friendly and the continental breakfast provided was nice (waffles, bagels, yogurt etc.) The lobby looked decent with a few colorful pieces of decor to add to the mellow ambiance. Elevators were squeaky. Street parking was nearby but some meters were out-of-order and free parking did not begin until 10pm. Penn's Landing was close by but only a few restaurants within walking distance; shopping was farther. Located really close to highway (I-95) so it was difficult to fall asleep. Television did not have CNN and I couldn't access the wireless signal or network even though the hotel did have wireless.”

  • One receptionist was more interested in her personal telephone call.

“Excellent room, clean and well furnished. Unhelpful staff, one lady, who was more interested in her phone call than assisting me. She apparently called a taxi which didn't show up. I asked her to call again, which she did and it showed up in 2 minutes. She didn't seem to notice that I had waited 20 minutes for a taxi in the lobby. Personal calls should not be taken at the front desk in front of the customer, making the customer wait. The man on duty the night before was very helpful and professional, so it is sad to see the reputation of the staff spoilt by just one staff member.”

“This hotel was about what I expected, however, the desk clerk told me she didn't want to put me on an upper floor "because there are only rooms by the elevator or adjoining rooms and I never put single women in those rooms." as it turned out, I never felt my safety was in jeopardy, but it was an off putting statement.”

  • Hotel is located next to interstate 95. It was very loud and drafty. Walking to historic sites was somewhat difficult.

“The hotel is not new. The windows were drafty. The noise from interstate 95 right out our window kept us awake at night. Although only a few blocks from the historic sites, we had to walk several blocks to be able to cross the interstate. The area is near the peer which is okay during the day but not the safest part of the city at night.”

“Overall, a reasonably good hotel. The room was clean. The location is handy for getting to the Old Town of Philly, but it is oddly placed on the wrong side of the highway so getting to the hotel itself involves walking over a relatively desolate overpass, down a flight of outdoor stairs and along an access road. For daytime excursions into town in nice weather its not a problem, at night and in the rain, its a bit uncomfortable. They offer a free shuttle which is helpful.”

“The hotel is definitely not even a 1star hotel. Dirty rooms, elevators, and lobby and breakfast area. Was cheap, but next time would stay in a more expensive hotel to have a little bit nicer of a stay. Also, the "free shuttle" has a lot of stupid restrictions, such as does not operate between 12-4pm!”

  • The courtesy shuttle did not run at all the first day.

“The hotel was very convenient to downtown historic area, close enough to walk if you chose to. I would recommend asking for a room with a river-view, the other side of the hotel backed up to i-95 w/ lots of traffic noise. The continental breakfasts were good but very crowded, not enough seating. Disappointed that the room rate did not include parking. Overall, hotel was a no frills stay convenient for sight-seeing and compared to other hotels in the historic district, the room rates were a bargain.”

  • The hotel was relatively close to Franklin Institute which is where I visited, thus requiring me to stay in Philadelphia. My room was neat and clean.
  • The staff was not professional. I was not greeted as though my business mattered. One staff member was wearing a dirty shirt.

“The location is in a place allowing for easy access to many activities in downtown Philly. My room was clean; however, it faced a major highway and subway track. The constant traffic made sleeping impossible for me. Make sure to request a room away from the highway. The elevator was filthy and although cleaning staff boarded the elevator and saw the same substance that looked like either chunky vomit of smooshed crumbs with some type of juice, they did nothing to clean it up or have it cleaned up. I road the elevator up and down at least twice and the substance remained and it was in an obvious location. One had to tip toe not to step on some part of it. I called, this location, from Franklin Institute and requested directions. The phone was hung up (I could hear the clanking of a receiver being placed back into the cradle) instead of placed on hold during my first call. When I called back I was told well you know we have to check in people then we will get to you. The directions given were incoherent and I had to stop at another hotel in order to get clear directions. The staff treated customers rudely and responded to a gentleman's request/comment by saying oh well. I asked for a late check out the following morning and I was told no, we aren't having those today. No apology or even we can give you 30 minutes if that would help. I felt I was a bother to the staff I interacted with. If I hadn't paid through a third party I would have requested a refund and stayed somewhere else. It also should be mentioned that there is an additional $20 charge for parking.”

  • Had to pay for parking in their parking lot.

“Very modest exterior, gave way to, very friendly helpful staff, clean and pleasant room. Nice view of Ben Franklin Bridge. The shuttle bus to the historic area/downtown was a great added bonus. The continental breakfast was good but lacked adequate seating. The dining area was cramped and all seating in lobby was full.”

  • Excellent location for visiting downtown historic area. Within walking distance.
  • Very hard to find this hotel. Very poor street signs. Poorly lit area. Very confusing layout of the streets.

“Once you get there this hotel is great. No need for a car. Everything is within walking distance. The hotel is hard to find. We ended up in new jersey. Twice! Street signs are hard to see at night, some street signs are missing! Would use this hotel again only because I could now get there without ending up in new jersey!”

“The hotel itself is totally acceptable as a 2 star property. However, by virtue of the incredible noise (it's sandwiched between I-95 and Columbus boulevard). There is no way one could expect, or accept, the unbearable noise coming from I-95, right outside the hotel windows at any star rating.”

  • Brand new beds!
  • Their courtesy car drivers are biggest pricks in America!

“We stayed there before when the mattresses were disgusting. Now the mattresses are new. They only hire courtesy car drivers that are the biggest pricks in America. The last one was a rat. The new one is even meaner. We are big tippers. He knows that people are waiting in the lobby but drive off without announcing that he is there! They get tipped, but let you off a city block away from where the best entrance is to the reading terminal. I found their drivers obnoxious and sadistic both times. Even though they put us in a smoking room, we were not unhappy because the beds were great! Bring your own soap.”
