- Too many issues that had to be resolved by staff.
“Very nice hotel. Good location. There were several minor inconveniences that were quickly resolved by the staff but none the less irritating. Unable to talk to upper management staff about problems. Still it is a nice hotel.”

“We stayed there Dec. 20, 2008. Lovely hotel. Just about everything is within walking distance. We felt very safe there. The valet can have a taxi for you in just a few minutes if you need one. My only complaint is that the valet parking is very expensive ($29.00 a day).”

“If you're a history buff, this is the hotel for you. Located in the historic society hill section of Philadelphia, this hotel is close to the Independence Hall area, the Philadelphia Mint and the Federal Reserve Bank. I strongly recommend Mrs. K's Koffee Shop on Chestnut Street between 3rd and 4th streets for breakfast, a short 5 minute walk from the hotel.”

- We found what appeared to be mold in our room. The staff quickly moved us and gave us 2 breakfast comps without hesitation.
- The bar closed too early!
“My partner and I took a mini-vacation over the bridge into Philly for day. We stayed here and were well taken care of and comfortable. The room was too chilly for my partner, but that's my fault! The room and facilities were clean and the staff was friendly and accommodating!”

- Our room was beautiful, with a flat screen HDTV and 2 plaid ottomans. Very comfortable.
“This hotel was in the perfect location for us! We could walk everywhere, including to Independence Hall. The only drawback was the wedding that took place that evening. Our room was on the 2nd floor and the wedding band was only one floor below. We could hear the band clearly in our room.

- I liked the location. It was definitely a clean, well maintained hotel. I felt safe being in the city alone and in this location.
- I don't like hotels that nickel and dime.
“Increasingly frustrating to check into a hotel and be taken for minor incidentals such as telephone and parking. I've been in Europe and have made calls to the US for a fraction of what the Sheraton charged me for 8 minutes total telephone usage. 8 minutes cost me $34. The hotel charged $30 for parking but I was able to park overnight right out front for free. Shame on the Sheraton Society Hill.”

- Location. Within walking distance of historical center. Felt very safe here.
- Slow middle elevator. AC unit in room was noisy. Valet parking was expensive.
“It was in a great location! Within walking distance to Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, Betsy Ross house, Penn's Landing, South Street- everything you would want to see in Phili! Also felt very safe, which was a concern for me. I was so glad I stayed here in Society Hill instead of in the middle city. Little pet peeves were a noisy AC unit that we could not control very well, no vent in the bathroom and expensive valet parking ($28 a day). Staff was friendly but concierge did not know that Independence Hall was open from 5 - 8 pm without a timed ticket the week of 4th of July.”

“They sent me to a sub par hotel, the Crown Plaza which was far away from the Sheraton in society hill. The Sheraton was going to reimburse me for the first night. Haven't seen it yet. They gave me cab fare to the crown plaza, but not back to the Sheraton in society hill. So that's more money out of my pocket. Do to there incompetence. I had to get up early go back to Sheraton the next day. Checking in was fine. The hotel is in a great location near shops, restaurants and museums. Nice gym and pool.”

- The hotel water was Luke warm at best. The bath tub drain would not properly close to permit bathing. The staff did not correct the conditions.
“The hotel management did not seem competent. The lack of hot water (at all times of day) and the malfunction of the tub drain plug was not fixed during our four day/ three night stay, despite repeated complaints to the desk & manager. The hot water issue was probably a cost savings initiative. However the inability to close the tub drain during a bath resulted in over utilization of water. The hotel paid for the excess water bill and the cost of heating water (although only to lukewarm temperature). Despite the great location I would not stay in this hotel again unless it changed name or management.”

- The accommodations were clean, people were very friendly. I would give 3.5 stars - 4 star service. The bed was spacious.
- No shop in the hotel.
“Sheraton-Society Hill is a quaint, somewhat luxurious hotel a few blocks away from the historic sites of Philadelphia. Within walking distance of the Farmer's Market, Penn's Landing, the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall, a day of walking may cover the hustle and bustle of Old Town Philly. For longer jaunts, just walk out the red-brick portico and the service will signal to waiting cabs. For smiles and service, this facility is top-notch!”

- The rooms were very clean. The location was convenient to many attractions.
- Expensive valet-only parking. No free parking in the vicinity. Cobblestone roads around the hotel are terrible on cars.
“Overall, this hotel proved to be an excellent stay. Although it's age is showing in the public areas, the rooms do in fact seem more updated and fresh. The staff was extremely friendly. It's location in the middle the historic sights of Philadelphia, Penn's Landing, and South Street are certainly a plus as everything is within walking distance. The only "negatives" about the location though is that free parking in the area is extremely hard to find. The hotel provides only valet parking, and it's not cheap. The cobblestone roads that surround the hotel are a nightmare on any car suspension. Nonetheless, it is certainly a good hotel for Philadelphia.”

- I rushed all day to arrive early enough to take a shower before going out, hotel room not ready at 4pm.

- The entry way /lobby was well adorned and attractive.
- Other than the lobby the hotel was less than spectacular. Terrible room service, no late menu.
“In February, we stayed at the Double Tree Hilton in Philly and loved it! This Sheraton did not meet up to my expectations at all! It was old and dingy. The tile, the floor, the pool area, even the bed was not nearly as comfortable as the Double Tree. Also, it was on the tail end of the city center! Not a good location for us at all. The room service menu they provide you is obsolete, as the room service attendant so rudely informed us. Why is it in the book then? Very displeased with this hotel! Would not stay again!”

“This hotel is in a fairly quiet corner of Old City Philadelphia, but just around the corner from lots of great restaurants and the Independence Hall complex. It's like a little oasis of calm amidst the bustle of downtown. And it's within easy walking distance of transportation, so getting to the sports venues is a snap.”

- Awesome location.
- Staff, especially the bell hop and valet were not courteous. The Valet actually argued with me about whether my car was up from the garage.
“I might stay again for the location and because I have stayed before. But I did not find the hotel staff very courteous or friendly. Rooms were clean, except the bed spread had stains. I did not sleep well due to the poor pillows and uncomfortable mattress.”

- Good location, close to many popular attractions and not too far from subway station.
- My room windows faced the indoor swimming pool; there was a distinct smell of chlorine.
“Good location just a few blocks from subway station, lots of great dining options nearby, and close to many popular tourist attractions. The hotel itself was decent, somewhat upscale in its ambitions, though falling a bit short of that mark. The rooftop indoor pool (beneath glass ceiling panels) looked nice and was mostly used by families with younger kids.”

- King Size Bed, Flat screen TV, and concierge service is wonderful. The location was perfect, and it was beautiful inside of the hotel.
- Elevators are slow.

- The room was really clean, spacious.
“I was completely impressed with the hotel. Loved the lobby area and the staff were helpful. The room was spotless, and the bed was cozy. It really looked like the pictures. The location is a bit on the sidelines, but you can take a 5 dollar cab ride to the center of town or walk easily on a nice day.”

- The staff was very polite and accommodating.
- There was a lot of noise from the hallways late at night.
“We liked that this hotel was walking distance from sightseeing spots and fine dining places although the hotel itself was in a quiet space. The staff was nice and helpful all around. For instance, a room with 2 double beds that we requested was not available but the staff went out of their way and placed a comfortable cot in our room as an alternative. The atrium seemed to amplify the noise from the lobby but the inner door in the room helped muffle the noise from outside the room. All things considered, we had a pleasant stay.”
