“It's a well run establishment with many markings of a luxury hotel, including the lobby and the professionalism of the staff. Well located next to all historic sites and within walking distance of the convention center, yet also a quiet, peaceful location, away from the commotion of a city center.”

• The location was convenient for the event I attended. The rooms were comfortable and relatively clean. Most staff were helpful and friendly.
• The floor was not vacuumed when I checked into the motel. One of the front desk personnel was not friendly.

• This hotel is a very shot walk to most attractions.
• Parking fee.

“This hotel is in the middle of all the historical sites. It was so convenient. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The food in the restaurant and also in the bar was very good. The pool was not open yet so we didn't see that. Our room was clean, the shower was hot. We had clean towels each day. I would recommend this hotel.”

• Clean, great location.
• Really really loud. Loud banging sound (apparently broken heat) kept me up all night. Also street traffic, paper thin walls. Barely slept at all.

“Overall, we had a really bad experience and barely slept at all. There was a loud banging sound vibrating through the floor (apparently they were having a problem with the heat and couldn't fix it until the morning). We had to switch rooms at 2:30 in the morning and even then could still hear it. The walls are very thin, and you can very clearly hear people in the room next to you. On a positive note, the hotel is ideally located if you are visiting the historic sites in Philly and the hotel is very clean and nicely appointed for a Holiday Inn.”

• It was convenient. It was fine for my business travel needs.
• It is an older hotel, while they have tried to update some things are worn. Carpeting needed replacement in the room.

• Good location; reliable chain.

“The restaurant was only adequate but the location was great so there were many other options. A wide variety of guests. Great to have the flexibility of leaving the parking garage as many times as we wanted. The 8:30 am Sunday morning evacuation was not much fun.

• The location was excellent and the staff was very friendly and helpful. My room was comfortable and clean.
• The common areas look a bit well worn, but not too bad overall.

• The location was really great and close to everything in Old City.
• Everything else.

“We were given what was probably the worst room in the whole hotel. I would have thought that they'd been saving these rooms for those who need. We were next to the storage room used by housekeeping, and it's lights were on 24 hours a day. It came right in our room and there was little we could do to block it. We were also right under the fitness center. So we heard people thumping away on the treadmill first thing in the morning and weights being dropped on the floor. The room was musty and damp. The air conditioner pumped out mustier air and didn't do anything about the dampness. The bathroom ventilation didn't work. If quality is found in the details, then this place is very low quality. Almost any time you looked at a detail, it was deficient. From the paint job in the room to the security on the door. The customer service was below standard as well. They messed up our room keys so I had to get them redone. They messed up the parking pass so that it charged us twice. Our room didn't have a remote control for the TV. I could go on and on. In the end, when my wife and I checked out, they didn't even ask how our stay was. I don't think they really cared. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone.”

“Location of the hotel was great. Rooms are alright but the maid service was non-existent. It took us 45 minutes to get part of our order and that was not right. We waited another 15 minutes for a condiment and then left without eating. Front staff was pleasant but did not compensate for the lack of services.”

• Superb location to explore Philadelphia historic district, excellent roof pool.
• Staff in restaurant was very spotty, some good some not so much.

“Best hotel choice we could have made to explore all the sites in Philadelphia with a family. Extremely convenient - we walked everywhere or took a trolley. The kids loved the food (especially the weekend brunch), the pool on the roof and the gift shop. We loved the price we got. And the convenience of not having to drive the whole time we were there.”

“The Holiday Inn in Philly is wonderful, staff was friendly and helpful, and beds were the most comfortable hotel beds I have ever experienced. Location is phenomenal, everything fun is within walking distance. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!”

• The staff was very accommodating and pleasant. The pool area was open for convenient hours and was very clean. My kids loved swimming on the roof.
• The restaurant was not at all prepared to handle the amount of patrons there. We waited almost 2 hours to be served.

“Traveling with two small children can be a challenge. The staff at this hotel was friendly and accommodating. The menu at the restaurant was adult and child friendly. They had macaroni & cheese for the boys and a nicely done crab cake for Mom. The location was excellent for site seeing. You couldn't get much closer unless you pitched a tent on Independence Mall. The pool was a hit with the kids although there wasn't any area available for a child under 4 feet tall to stand safely. We will most likely be back.”

“Outstanding customer service. Staff and wait staff tried hard to make a pleasant experience. Significant delays in food preparation from Kitchen management for Sunday Brunch. Wait staff was pleasant and very accommodating in spite of the delays. Otherwise, would recommend highly.”

• The location was convenient.
• Dirt throughout the main lobby, corridor, elevators and hallways. The carpets were fraying and tearing up all throughout the hotel.

“The lady at the front desk check in was rude. She explained that parking is considered an incidental and I need to pay the $20 for that. The hotel was also filthy. The bathrooms have been recently updated, but do not match the decor of the rest of the hotel room and definitely not the rest of the hotel which is in need of a serious update. This hotel would be ideal for a business trip or if you just need a place to rest your head for a night. But that's it.”

“We had a problem with someone breaking into our room at night, the security did not respond and after two days seemingly nothing was done, management did not know about the incident. other than that it was in a great location and the other staff were helpful.”

“I would recommend the hotel to anyone, and only suggest that they get a room on one of the upper floors to be a little more removed from the street noise. There's a firehouse a block away and a big delivery truck idled outside our window Saturday morning from 7:30 to 8:30 so the sleep I got wasn't very restful. I would absolutely stay there again.”

• My food order was wrong 3 times out of 4. The hotel did nothing about the loud guest that kept me from getting sleep my last night of stay.

“The hotel was clean and situated in a good location for sightseer's. The hotel staff did nothing even though I contacted them 3 times about the extremely loud people that were next to me. I became sick from lack of sleep and stress. I would be very unlikely to stay at this hotel again if I don't receive an apology and some kind of adequate reimbursement.”

• It was within walking distance of the in town show I went to see. Easy to get on and off 95.
• The toilet in the room ran all night.

“I was very happy with the hotel overall. It was right in the middle of where I needed to be. The staff was very friendly and quick to make any needed accommodations. I enjoyed my stay and would definitely like to stay at this hotel again.”

“Hotel is located in old city near many attractions. Hotel is unkept, dirty, old and staff was not knowledgeable in city attractions. Gave me incorrect directions to the Italian Market. Would only stay again if desperate, better than a park bench. Would rate at 1.5 stars.”
