  • It was close to downtown tours, etc.
  • A little scary as you walked out of the hotel.

“The hotel was clean inside, the walls were a little thin, but everything was clean. So, it was a little scary as you walked out of the hotel.”

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9
Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[9]

  • I thought the hotel staff made our stay very comfortable, and they went out of their way to help with extra necessities, cabs, etc.
  • The only minor thing was that it had no parking at the hotel and we had to park on the next block.

“I would recommend this hotel to all of my friends and family because it was in a convenient location, the staff was great, and it was very clean and efficient for us.”

Overall Rating: 3 User Rating Score: 3
Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[6] • Location:[8]

  • The guy at the front desk in the evenings was very nice.
  • The overall helpfulness and friendliness of the hotel staff was lacking; no attention to detail.

“We had to ask not once, but twice for more toilet paper. Our room was directly across from the front desk, so anything that went on at the desk came right through the paper thin walls into the room and woke us up. I got scowled at by more than one employee. We came in at night with only one bed made (for no noticeable reason).”

Cleanliness:[6] • Staff:[10] • Location:[8]

  • The friendly workers.
  • Loud construction work at night, but not your fault!

“This hotel is located conveniently opposite the convention center a few blocks from everything that you needed for a first time visit. The complimentary breakfast was limited, but satisfying.”

Aug 23, 2007 by Carolyn from Arlington, VA
Overall Rating: 5 User Rating Score: 5
Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[7] •

  • Basic, clean accommodations in a great location.
  • No windows with access to natural sunlight and odd shape of room.

“If you are looking for a clean comfortable bed with few amenities I would recommend the Travelodge in Philly. It is really all about basics: clean room, clean bed, bagels/muffins/raisin bran/toast for breakfast with Folgers coffee and Lipton tea. If you do not plan on spending much time in your room and don't need lavish settings it is worth the price. Great location: short walking distance to city hall, Franklin institute, art museum, and independence hall. Not a bad walk to south street.”

Jul 16, 2007 by Valarie from Pittsburgh, PA
Overall Rating: 2 User Rating Score: 2
Cleanliness:[3] • Staff:[3] • Location:[2]

  • There was nothing to like about this hotel, it was dismal at best.
  • The rooms were very small and had no windows. Also, the parking is outrageous.

“This was one of the worst hotels I had ever stayed in. There is one ice machine and one vending machine in the whole building, located in the basement. The room was like a shoe box and very uncomfortable. The fact that it had only one window that looked out into the hallway left much to be desired. The hotel has no parking facility of its own, and the public lot you have to park in was horrible. It would have been worth the extra money to stay at another hotel than to save a few dollars. Beware.”

Overall Rating: 7 User Rating Score: 7
Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[7] • Location:[9]

  • Very close to pen square and Chinatown.
  • There is a homeless shelter right next door.

“For a quick one or two day visit this hotel is fine. Very short walks to pen square and Chinatown. It is directly next door to a homeless shelter. Dodging pan-handlers is ok for a day or two. After that, it's depressing. If Iżm going to stay longer Iżll go elsewhere.”

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1
Cleanliness:[6] • Staff:[2] • Location:[9]

  • Location.
  • Construction on adjacent room starting at 6 am. Room in lobby area very noisy.

“We arrived at the hotel, and were given a room 6 feet from the front desk. Were awaken at 5 am by the masses of people checking out in the lobby, then construction started on the room that shared a wall with mine around 6 am. When I complained to the staff, they ignored me completely. Worst hotel stay I have ever had.”

Cleanliness:[6] • Staff:[10] • Location:[9]

  • Location, friendly help.
  • Worn stained carpets, cold room, dirty air vents that left dirt all over the wall and ceiling.

“Hotel is in great need of a renovation, cig burns, stains on carpets, dirty air vents in room, saggy mattresses. Definitely not worth 122.00 that it cost.”

Overall Rating: 5 User Rating Score: 5
Cleanliness:[7] • Staff:[8] •

  • Rooms are clean and neat.
  • Room and bathroom were too small.

“The hotel was centrally located and within a price range that I could afford, but it was just small and the room and bathroom was very small and it would not work for a business traveler. Other than that it was fine and I enjoyed my stay very much.”

Oct 23, 2006 by Kelly from Columbia, SC
Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10
Cleanliness:[10] • Staff:[10] • Location:[10]

  • Very friendly, helpful staff. Quite clean, quiet, & good location.
  • No window in room, BUT not a deal breaker. Probably quieter because of it. Just set alarm!

“I liked this hotel. For me, friendly and helpful staff as well as a clean and quiet room in a good location are more important than fancy amenities that I wouldn't need or use. It was a well run hotel and very accommodating. I would definitely stay there again.”

  • The front desk clerks knew their city. They were very helpful. I ordered up sunshine on a rainy morning. It was delivered.
  • The breakfast left a LOT to be desired. Very old apples & only 1 choice of cereal.

“Over all I was happy with the hotel. It was clean & convenient.”

Cleanliness:[4] • Staff:[10] • Location:[4]

  • Friendly, accommodating staff.
  • Homeless, derelicts, few storefronts down; room too small and worn.

“I paid $100 per night and for this price, so I was disappointed with the seamy, shabby environment of homeless sprawled close by. The room were extremely tiny, and the carpet worn. The complimentary breakfast was OK, and the staff was very helpful.”
