• Great location. Nice area.
• Pool was not great. No free WiFi - not even in lobby.

“Pros: I loved the location of this hotel. Right near Reading Terminal Market. Nice walk to Independence Hall. Lots of places to eat. Hard Rock across the street. The room was clean and nice. Cons: Pool was more like a lap pool, but it was clean and warm. While I don't expect free internet in the rooms, I do expect a free connection in the lobby. There is free access at Reading Market across the street.”

• Location is great, right in Center City across from Reading Terminal close to subway.
• Flat beer, cold soup in restaurant.

“Parking is $36 day which is comparable for area but there is a $7 city parking tax they don't tell you about. Room was comfortable and clean. Went to eat at the 13 restaurant in the hotel lobby. The guy who seated us looked at me and gave a wide yawn after I asked for a table for two - kind of weird, maybe he's a student. Got flat draught beer but the staff exchanged after I complained. French onion soup was not warmed all the way through in the microwave - chilly in parts, hot in others. The location trumps all at this hotel. If you want to be in Center City - this is a great location both for walking and public transportation. Historic stuff is two Subway stops or a 20 minute walk away. City Hall is a block away.”

• Hotel is very elegant and beautiful with a nice variety of restaurants. Excellent location, close proximity to museums, restaurants, and shopping.
• The Concierge was not as helpful as expected. He did not tell us we were less than 1 block from Reading Market Terminal-place for eating and shopping.

“The hotel is very beautiful, elegant and in an ideal location for shopping, restaurants, and museums. The hotel is also next to the convention center, which has a mall as well. The hotel is in walking distance to Independence Hall (Old City, Liberty Bell), which is about 7 or 8 blocks. It is 2 blocks from City Hall, 1/2 mile from Avenue of the Arts and Kummel Performing Arts Center. The local bus system is safe and very easy to figure out. Although the hotel has several nice restaurants, a Starbucks and business center (Fed Ex-Kincos), we decided to walk to restaurants. We did not have a car so I do not know about the overnight parking. My only complaint was the Concierge. We asked for a place where locals eat and shop. He suggested Chili's, Maggione and a sports bar, which were across the street. Since we have a Chili's in our town and it is a chain restaurant, we decided to go the Maggione. The food was okay, but certainly not the local flavor or environment we were looking for. We found out on our last day that Reading Market Terminal is less than a block from the hotel. This is a place where the locals truly dine and shop. They have several seafood markets, fresh produce, grilled and bar-b-que foods, and healthily meals. This was great because I am vegetarian and the person traveling with me is not. We had breakfast there, purchased delicious baked goods from several Amish booths, and the bottled juices, all of which were unbelievably good. I just wish we knew about the place earlier. Overall, I would stay at this hotel again. We were extremely pleased.”

• Location excellent and the concierge was extremely helpful with directions/suggestions reantiquarian bookstores in Philadelphia.
• While the bathroom was large, the bathroom towels were not.

“Great location near Reading Market and Convention Center. Also easy walking to some interesting shops and museums. Concierge staff extremely knowledgeable.”

• It's crazy this day and age to have to pay for wireless internet.

“The hotel was clean and modern and the rooms spacious, clean and well equipped. Very convenient to sightseeing in the Philadelphia area. I would definitely stay here again. Only improvement to be made would be to offer free wireless internet connection.”

• Good location and after all it is a Marriott, but that's about it.
• Not welcoming environment and staff. Ridiculous rate of $9 for a 24hrs WiFi access. Lack of a business centre for Internet use etc.

“Great location but lacks services most hotels provide for free (WiFi and business centre). When asked for the business centre the staff addresses you to either buy a WiFi access for 9$ per day, or to use the nearby efficient but expensive FedEx Kinko Center. Also the room was not spacious and it was close to a noisy ice dispenser located in the hall.”

• The location cannot be beat in central Downtown Philadelphia.
• The charge for parking was ridiculous.

“For the price, the hotel and overall experience far exceeded my expectations. Near to all of Downtown tourist destinations including liberty bell, museums, the pier, love park, etc. Parings the only tricky part. If you have a car, expect to pay lots of money to park it; however, if you plan to just stay in center city area, you don't need a car.”

• It was very convenient to the downtown area.
• The pool area was very unattractive so I did not try to go swimming.

“I had a good stay at this hotel. Everything was very nice. The parking was unreasonable, so I sought out other garages around, which were still expensive but not quite as much. Still, my experience actually staying the hotel was positive.”

• We liked everything about this hotel & wish we could've stayed longer.

“This hotel is located just a few blocks from the Independence Hall Visitors Center. Shops & restaurants are all right there! The staff is fantastic - so helpful & nice! The rooms were clean; the beds & pillows were very comfortable; the pool was so refreshing & beautiful. We all enjoyed the Jacuzzi as well.”

• Centralized location, large comfortable lobby, great for tourists.
• Rooms were very cozy, yet not the best rooms I've been in the area.

“The hotel is great, valet is quick, lobby is expansive and has exits from each wing of the building without having to walk around the block to get somewhere. The pool is nice nothing spectacular. Starbucks located in hotel, shopping and Restaurant bar. Great centralized location in heart of DC.”

• I enjoyed all the aspects of this hotel, the staff was friendly and I felt important from check in to check out.
• I did not like the price of parking and found it difficult to park at a decent price.

“I think the Philadelphia Marriott exceeded my expectation and those of my guests. It's a beautiful hotel and the staff was beyond friendly and cordial. I will stay again and maybe sooner rather than later.”

• The hotel was very nice and close to local attractions.
• Not prepared for being full service and hotel overnight parking.

“This hotel was a beautiful hotel within 7 blocks of historical Philadelphia. Buses and a trolley ran from the front of the hotel. Room was nicely decorated and the were 6 elevators for use. They were quick to fix a toilet problem and both ice machines on the floor. I was there to enjoy the sight and was not at the hotel except to sleep. Except for the unplanned expense it was a nice hotel.”

“Laundry room had broken machines and supplies were empty and not placed with marked product. Every time I called for help from my room the call would ring 20+ times and then I'd be on hold forever. Housekeeper was great, location was great and price was even better.”

“We were in Philly for only one night and this hotel was perfect. Close to tourist attractions and a great staff. Many would complain about the parking service fee but hey they are very prompt and professional with your vehicle so why complain.”

“It would be helpful if there were street directions included with the confirmation. It is a difficult hotel to drive to otherwise with just the address. Great proximity to the Downtown Market shops and historical buildings in Downtown Philly.”

• We traveled during 4th of July, parking was a very small inconvenience.

• The lobby was beautiful. My room was great with upscale bedding and comforter. The children loved the pool and the exercise room was wonderful.
• Parking price was outrageous.

“Great upscale hotel in the heart of downtown Philly. Great pool and exercise room. Public transportation is available just outside the door to all of the tourist attractions. Convenient public transportation to and from the airport. Internet access includes unlimited local and long distance phone calls for $10.00 per day.”

• The rooms were great, the amenities terrific -- we loved the sauna, steam room, etc. 24-hour Kinkos!
• Front desk a little snippy about not giving me Marriott rewards.

“This hotel is great for individuals who want proximity to Philadelphia Historic District. The rooms are comfortable, the pool, fitness center, steam room, sauna -- awesome! Great for kids. Having Kinko's situated right in the hotel and open 24/7 is a real boon for the business traveler. We had a terrific stay!”

“This hotel is conveniently located in the heart of downtown, walking distance from the historic sites. The only real downside is that parking is not included. Valet parking was overnight at the hotel and is $35, or you can self-park across the street for $28.”
