• The staff was very helpful and friendly.
• The construction at the front created difficulty's in accessing the hotel, took 20 minutes to receive valet parked vehicle.

“I thought it was nice overall, I have worked in the hospitality industry for over 17 years and I am currently a group trainer for the Intercontinental Brand. It met my expectations for the price paid.”

• This just felt like an old school classy hotel. It was very enjoyable.

“There was a certain intimacy about this hotel, yet plenty of luxury. I think I probably stayed at one of the best hotels in town because it was not too large, not too modern, yet an extremely nice and comfortably place to stay.”

• The linens were fabulous. Room well appointed.
• The hallways smelled very bad.

“Room was lovely, well-appointed. Location nice. The hallways on the guest floors smelled. I had to hold my breath between the elevators and my room. I was only staying one night, so I put up with it. If I had been staying longer, I would have insisted on finding a new hotel.”

• The friendly, welcoming staff put us (first time visitors) in a beautiful room with a fantastic view of City Hall.
• I wish all rooms had refrigerators.

• Room was very spacious and comfortable.
• Parking was expensive.

“The hotel was beautiful. The room was large with flat screen TV and refrigerator. It had a separate living area and king size bed. It was located right in the middle of downtown Philadelphia, convenient to all sites and public transportation. My only complaint was that parking cost almost as much as what we paid for the room.”

• Location very close to subway, sights, Reading Terminal Market.
• I didn't use it, but hotel parking at $35+/night is outrageous.

“Impressively friendly staff - very helpful from the moment we pulled up in our rental car. Public areas are very beautiful, rooms lovely with very high ceilings, comfortable beds. Free coffee in the morning is hidden in the restaurant, but don't be shy, they expect you to go in and help yourself to the coffee. Pool was great for young children - 3 ft deep for entire length. Very satisfied with this hotel!”

• Gorgeous historic building, great location, comfortable rooms, friendly staff.
• While pool was in a beautiful space, it was only 3' deep. Too shallow for tall people (don't want to hit knees on bottom).

• Long term parking costs $31 to $43 per day due to location.

“Desk staff was very efficient and helpful. When a false fire alarm sounded in the high rise building, there were helpful staff in the lobby to answer questions. Based on a limited sample, hotel restaurant wait staff was engaging and conversational. This may be good or bad depending upon your preference.”

• Most comfortable bed I've ever slept in, and extremely clean.
• The valet and the staff could have been friendlier.

“I would recommend this hotel to others, gorgeous rooms, extreme comfort, and beautiful view of the city. Our room looked right out at the William Penn Statue, my two year old son absolutely loved the view and the size of the room was perfect. There is so so much to see and do in that area of the city and it's a great way to truly appreciate Philadelphia and what it has to offer!”

• The rooms were very nice. I would have enjoyed just staying in the room.
• The pool room was a little small; too crowded for adults and children at the same time.

• The locations was perfect. We were able to walk to most of the popular tourist spots.
• The parking was confusing. We pulled up to the hotel and it was crazy and crowded out front. Leaving was also very frustrating.

“Overall a very nice hotel. Staff was very helpful and pleasant. The room was clean. The location is key. We walked everywhere we wanted to go. The restaurant in the hotel is overpriced for what they offer, but I find this to be typical of most hotels these days. If you stay here, go eat at the terminal market. It's just two blocks away. The parking was a pain. There's not a lot of room in the front and when we were leaving we were actually blocked in by other hotel guests for about 10 minutes. I also thought the parking the hotel offered was a little pricey as well. $70 bucks for two nights. But again, I think you will struggle to find parking that won't cost you an arm and a leg in any downtown area of a large city. Was very pleased with the stay overall and would definitely stay here again if I visited Philly again.”

• Super friendly and helpful staff, very nice room and location for the price.
• Absolutely nothing we didn't like about this hotel! Parking was expensive but we found that to be the case anywhere we went in Philly.

“This was a very nice hotel. Rooms, staff, pool & workout rooms were great! The location was also superb! The cost was a little more than we originally wanted to pay for our stay in Philly but in retrospect, we'd do it again in a heartbeat! We really liked the nice soft beds but if you need a firm mattress, this may be something you need to ask about they may have firmer options. We wanted a refrigerator and microwave and they had the hotel staff deliver them and set them up in our room for us.”

• Location and staff.
• Because of one way streets, hotel was hard to drive to.

“The Courtyard by Marriott in Downtown Philadelphia is in a great location. Through the front doors you can walk across the street to city hall. Out the back doors you are steps away from the Reading Terminal Market. There are several SEPTA stops nearby and plenty of restaurants to choose from. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly.”

“We were greeted and immediately attended to upon arrival. The hotel was very nicely decorated and our room was very comfortable and clean. The breakfast buffet was delicious. The work out area and pool were an unexpected bonus. We really enjoyed our stay and will make every effort to return.”

• The valet parking was expensive.

“A nice hotel in an excellent location. Room was on the small side but very comfortable and very quiet. This hotel is in the middle of everything you'd want to visit in Philadelphia. Very secure. Keycard access required for door entry at night and for elevator access (and room access) at all times. The valet parking was expensive. The plus of valet parking is that you can go in and out as often as you wish, whereas in city lots this is not allowed, so you might end up paying more for city parking than the valet if you need to use your car during your stay. Budget for parking when staying in downtown Philly. The city is very walk able with ample public transportation.”

• Historic building lovingly decorated in absolute center of town.
• Windows did not open; pool under renovation.

“Beautifully decorated 2.5 stars hotel with many 4 star touches, such as double sheeted duvet. Incredible value, very central location. Comfortable beds, incredible view. Awesome lobby. Great architectural details. Huge room and bath. Should put trash can in toilet/shower room in addition to sink area. Our windows were fixed shut at the 15th floor, possibly a fire hazard.”

“The valet service was fast and efficient. Upon realizing that one of the beds was not clean, our valet parking was comped. The uncleanliness was not a typical thing found it this hotel. I have stayed there before to always be very pleased with the service.”

• The business center did not have free internet access, limited number of elevators, small rooms.

“This hotel is great if you are only staying one or two nights in Philadelphia. It's location provides easy access to public transportation, site seeing, and restaurants. The rooms are small, and the limited elevator access was very inconvenient. For travelers needing internet access, the business center provides it for a ridiculously high cost with a minimum of $5. At the price for this hotel I expect free internet access in the business center.”

• The staff was wonderful and the facilities more than adequate.

“We were traveling due to medical treatment and with small children (the patient was a 5 year old) it was fantastic to have this centrally located, excellent hotel and on short notice. We would have had more than an hour's drive early in the morning with a child who does not do well without food/water and does not do well in cars. This stay made the whole surgery much easier.”

• Difficulty in finding the "second restaurant" ( which was closed!).

“Top grade quality comfortable, centrally located ( for my purposes) to business center. Only problem coming in was easy accessibility due to proximity with another Marriott right next to it. I would definitely go there again.”

• Room was barely big enough to hold the 2 beds.

“Wonderful location, beautiful hotel, clean. When checking in, the desk person gave me a snide remark about getting only 1 room for my family of 4. Turns out she probably was right - the room was barely large enough to hold the 2 Queen beds. It was very cramped with the 4 of us.”

• Access was close to historic district, great staff and very concerned, since I needed a wheel chair. They made sure all was ok with me.
• There was not anything that we didn't like. We actually wanted to stay 2 more nights, but couldn't.

• Small rooms, narrow hallways.

“The Marriott Courtyard Downtown Philadelphia is convenient to all of Philadelphia's downtown attractions including the zoo, Franklin Institute, museums, and sports complex. The Subway is located less than one block away. The rooms are small, but comfortable and offer beautiful views of the city skyline. Valet parking is first rate and necessary. Hotel staff was very friendly, especially given Philadelphia's reputation. Breakfast buffet was excellent, if a little expensive ($50 for 4 people). The quality and variety of food was worth the expense. Hotel pool is a little small, but very clean with nice view of the city. The pool is located right next to an excellent workout facility. I would rate this hotel as 8.5 out of 10.”
