  • Good location in city, great upscale restaurant and friendly staff.
  • Room and bathroom smaller than most. Shower only and small sink area.

  • The staff is helpful but not very friendly.

“Club quarter Philly is just two block away from suburban station and close to a lot of attractions. The free internet and printing service fits my needs. But the room is not totally quiet. The staff is helpful but not very friendly.”

  • The hotel lobby was beautiful with complimentary Internet access.
  • Called for extra pillows and no one came with them for 45 minutes.

“For the price paid, a great deal. Room had two twin beds, would have preferred a different sleeping arrangement, the desk staff didnt ask us what we preferred so we just took what they gave us. Security was great; access to guest rooms Is secured through having to swipe your room key In the elevator. Hotel Is very convent to all downtown Philadelphia attractions, within walking distance of almost everything, close access to the train station.”

  • Small rooms and the smell of cigarette smoke on a non smoking floor.

“This hotel is in a prime location - near lots of shopping, restaurants, cafes, and Ritten house Square. The staff is friendly and helpful. The restaurant has been closed for private functions each time I visited (don't be tempted to use the recommended nearby restaurants for room service which provide mediocre or sub mediocre fare). The walls are thin and the rooms are small. Overall, I think I got what I paid for.”

“If you want class, a nice room and a comfortable stay, please do not stay at this hotel. The rooms were the size of a cruise ship. They had the nerve to give me 2 twin beds. I'm one for discounts, but not at the expense of quality. Please do not stay at this horrible hotel, which should be called a motel.”

  • It is definitely very good for business travelers. Makes us want to check out other CQ's in other cities.
  • I was actually a business traveler with spouse (not an option in #12) and it still met our needs very well.

“I was charged for an extra person charge, and didn't even stay at the hotel the first night! The front desk couldn't figure out how to fix the error. The room wasn't ready anytime convenient during the day, the internet was very, very slow. The restaurant in the hotel was much overpriced. Will definitely not stay here again nor recommend it to other.”

  • There was no window in my room! Instead, there was a window treatment on a blank wall! How bizarre!

  • Old - was a nice hotel 20 years ago.
  • Rooms were too small - my bed was a single. Everything was old and worn out.

“About 20-25 years ago, this was probably a nice place to stay. The staff at the desk was very polite but not very competent. But the biggest problem was the room size and quality. Rooms were too small - even for a single traveler. My bed was a single (smaller than a twin bed). No place to unpack or store my clothing. Location was not bad but I will not return because of age and size of rooms.”

  • Recently renovated rooms, very quiet.
  • Parking is in nearby commercial garage, no in and out privileges, $25 a day.

“Very pleasantly surprised at quality of room, which was recently renovated, very quiet air conditioner, no noise from street, coffee available all the time. Only reservation was the parking--they use a commercial garage nearby which does not offer in and out privileges. If they could offer latter, hotel would be perfect.”

  • I liked the ability to obtain free wireless connection in my room.
  • The elevators were old and slow. The staff was not friendly. Décor in rooms was old.

“This hotel is definitely not worth the money that I paid for it. I would not stay here again. The staff was not friendly and the hotel is in need of updating. I was disappointed in what I received for what I paid. The restaurant was way overpriced and was not that good. The cheapest entree was $18.00 and this was just an angel hair pasta dish.”

“For the special price we paid is more or less acceptable, but for almost the same price we stay 3 more night at the Sheraton and difference was huge. If compared with the Sheraton, the cost should drop to the $70ths level value.”

  • The bathroom walls were full of mold.

“I have stayed at many 3 star hotels that offered much more than this hotel. This hotel was short on the things I expect from 3 stars. No-one outside to help with bags or hail a cab, no bathrooms in lobby. The bathroom in my room was gross, mold everywhere. Toilet paper holder ripped out of the wall and set back into place. I would never stay at a Club Quarters anywhere, again.”

“They upgraded us at no additional charge to a business suite which was a huge blessing. That made the fact that they had no pool, unloading/loading zone, lobby was on second floor, and its a good 45-minute walk to Independence hall easier to swallow. I was scared to death after reading reviews on other websites about this hotel, but we found it to be clean and the room great. We stayed for three days and as we were checking out the showerhead broke and the window sheers fell down (maybe you shouldn't stay more than three days). Overall, club quarters were a great value. Don't expect any frills, and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone except business travelers.”

“Club Quarters was an ok value for the money we spent on it. I would not rate this hotel a 3-Star. There are too many deficient areas to warrant this rating. Being downtown, I understand why there is no pool but other 3-Star hotels in the area did have one, although they were much more expensive. The rooms were small but clean, the bathrooms are a bit small but not bad. I really liked the Wi-Fi being available in the rooms. The worst part of this hotel is its parking, or actually the lack there-of. They have no place to park if you are driving. You have to park at the mall garage across the street at $28.00 a day and no validation for a better rate. I would have thought they would have negotiated a better rate with someone in the area, or at least have valet so you don't have to lug your luggage to the hotel from the basement garage. An improvement in the parking arrangement would vastly improve the value of this hotel and make it likely to recommend it in the future. As of now I would not recommend this hotel to a friend.”

  • Could not get the thermostat to work; was hot all night.

“Parking was convenient though expensive. Accommodations were adequate for our purposes as we were gone for most of the day and only slept there. Air conditioning in rooms was turned off during the day and took more than an hour for the room to cool off upon return. When I awoke in the morning room temp was above 80 even though thermostat was set at 74. Staff was courteous.”

  • Superb location; nicely decorated, spacious and inviting lobby.
  • Elevators are slow and stuffy (especially the main one used for lobby entry) and a stairway entry is not available.

“Rooms are nice but quite small. As a result the showers are so tiny you can barely turn around in them. And the flush handle for the toilet is awkwardly located under the vanity and hidden by the hand-towels which as a result can be easily soiled.”

  • Young inexperienced unknowledgeable staff, very small room.

“The dining room was closed, the front desk did not know it - dining room was a mere 20 ft away. They asked for and ran my credit card 4 times, 4 occasions, lost the previous imprints. My wife is ill, cannot sleep in a double, they had no king or no 2 regulars, just 2 twins and then charged me $17 for a rollaway they brought in. Rooms were very small- way too small even for the price TV did not work, thermostat did not work. They fixed both Bath had 2 towels. The only mirror in the place was the bath room mirror. Hotel is at best a middle 2 star and that debatable.”

  • The room was really nice looking. Free water!
  • The bed was really uncomfortable.

“My first impression of this hotel was really good. I liked the facilities and room. Some things that I thought were bad were the fact that the TV was on the other side of the room and it was hard to see from the bed. Speaking of the bed, it was very uncomfortable. Finally, the ice machine and vending was all the way on the 12th floor so that was a little inconvenient.”

“This hotel was inappropriate for accommodating a group of 3 travelers. When I approached the front desk to ask for a bigger room, I was told that this hotel caters to the single business traveler. We were forced to pay additional money for a roll out bed and were cramped in a tiny room that I was told was one of the hotels biggest. I'd like to mention that staff was friendly and as helpful as they could be in this situation.”

“We requested a hotel for two adults and one child expecting 2 double beds. What we found was one bed and a rollaway bed unopened in our room. The room was so small that we could not open the rollaway bed without moving a chair towards the door. We had to climb over the rollaway to get to the bathroom. There also was no bathtub in the tiny bathroom. This hotel was well appointed, well located, and clean, and would have been fine for a single business traveler. It was completely unsuitable for a family.”

“When I arrived at the hotel I was given a third floor room without a view, but the room was equipped with microwave and fridge. I asked the front desk if I could have a room with a window view, they said yes, and moved me up to the tenth floor, wow! I had a view of another building, I couldn't even see the street below, and there was no fridge or microwave in the new room. Parking is awful; you have to use a parking deck that is very costly even with the hotel discount other wise you can feed the meter every two hours out front. But it is in a great location for shopping and nightlife. Although the rooms are very small, the hotel is very clean, and the staff is very nice.”

“I would call this a basic hotel. The room I was given had no window, so it felt kind of airless. There was a skylight, so there was natural light. The location was great, it was very clean, and I really enjoy the guest request closets in the hall where you can get extra amenities without having to contact the staff.”

  • Rooms were small. Really small.

“The location for this small hotel is perfect - you can walk anywhere in Central Philly from the doorstep! It kind of has a self service vibe, which is very efficient. The only downside is the size of the rooms and bathrooms. Great for someone who wants to explore the town and not spend much time in the room.”

  • Peeling paint.

“It was overall a very convenient and clean hotel. They offered filtered water and bottles which was a nice touch. However, it would be nice if they would keep up general maintenance (i.e. Painting and maintaining nice looking hotel doors.)”

  • The staff's professionalism was fantastic. Each of them greeted both my daughter and myself! Wonderful!

“This hotel exceeded my expectations. It was convenient. The staff was both friendly and knowledgeable. They acted like we were their primary concern. The front desk workers were exceptional, to say the least. Every single time my daughter and I walked by them they greeted us and they went out of their way to speak with my daughter! The appearance of the hotel reminded me of a European hotel; quaint rooms, perfectly decorated. Each staff member was attentive to our needs and professional and courteous and all should be commended for their efforts. The restaurant although we did not eat there looked like fine dining at its best, beautifully decorated. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone, it was absolutely perfect and the location unbeatable. I cannot say enough about this spectacular hotel, simply perfect and without hesitation. I would love to stay there again!”
