“Overall, the staff was courteous, helpful and really tended to my needs. I would return if I had a choice.” May 5, 2008 by
Edie from Waretown, NJ
“Very nice hotel with great location to downtown activities.” May 4, 2008 by
Eddie from Rockaway Park, NY
“The hotel staff is very good, absolutely polite and knowledgeable about the city. The hotel is walking distance from 30th Street Station and Suburban Station and from the City Hall Station for the SEPTA Subways. The rooms are clean and well appointed and the bar had a great selection of spirits.” May 3, 2008 by
Marc from Washington, DC
“Hotel with a great location under renovation, will stay again hopefully kinks will be worked out.” Apr 30, 2008 by
Anne from North Kingstown, RI
“Overall this was a very descent hotel. Clean, friendly service and great location. We were just staying for the night, so it was perfect for what we were looking for. Small bathroom, but luckily the sink was separate from the shower and toilet. No complaints, a pleasant stay.” Apr 26, 2008 by
Donna from Wantage, NJ
“I really enjoyed my stay. I will be returning in August and hopefully I can book a Crown Plaza hotel on City Line.” Apr 24, 2008 by
Lennox from New York, NY
“A great hotel if you're not going to be spending much time in the hotel, but will rather be out and about in Philly.” Apr 24, 2008 by
Ellen from Ithaca, NY
“Great location and friendly service.” Apr 23, 2008 by
Laura from West Harrison, NY
“The hotel was great. I was upset that we were given a small room with only 1 bed when I typed in 2 adults and 2 children on my request. I'm not upset with the hotel, they switched my room the second day as soon as a bigger room became available. We spent the whole night trying not to fall off the edge of the bed or roll over onto our children. My neck is still stiff!” Apr 23, 2008 by
Jennifer from Silver Spring, MD
“The hotel was a little run down but the bed was very comfortable.” Apr 23, 2008 by
Osei from Brooklyn, NY
“Nice hotel. Parking could be cheaper and more efficient. The staff is extremely friendly and willing to accommodate. However, two phones were in the room and neither worked. They stated they would send someone to fix it, but that never happened. Also, I was told the rooms had nothing but queens and kings (beds). However, there were two full beds in our room. Excellent location in the heart of center city. Easy to walk everywhere.” Apr 9, 2008 by
Marc from Washington, DC
“Overall good, but the hotel was under repair.” Apr 4, 2008 by
Erica from Florida
“We stayed at the Crowne Plaza in Center City Philadelphia and I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. The rooms were decent (not 3 star quality though), except for the mold in the bathroom and the poor ventilation (the a/c didn't work) in the room. The service at the hotel is horrendous! Neither me nor my boyfriend smoke but the front desk informed us that we were being charged $250 for smoking. The woman at the front desk was extremely rude! She refused to send anyone to the room to check again while we were there and did not allow us to speak with the supervisor that accused us of smoking in the non-smoking room. After much discussion, management called back to say the charge would be removed. That was a lie! I checked out, and was told my room had no charges. Three days later, the hotel charged my account the $250 and I have been trying for days now to get someone to call me back and no one, not in accounting, not in the front desk and not anyone in management will call me back! I filed a formal complaint with their corporate office. I truly believe the mold in the bathroom made us sick. If you can help it, do not stay at this hotel, save yourself the aggravation. Their management does not know how to treat their guests.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Mar 12, 2008 by

“Great location, great staff, nice rooms, parking is the only flaw. It took us 20 minutes to get into the garage (that should have been a warning) and 45 minutes to get our car. People in line reported that cars being brought were not theirs, and they couldn't find one guy's car at all?” Mar 11, 2008 by
Robert from New York, NY
“Very average hotel.” Feb 29, 2008 by
Dodie from Fleetwood, PA
“The hotel staff was very accommodating and courteous. The rooms were clean. It was a family friendly hotel, but had a romantic side to it.” Feb 28, 2008 by
Karen from Potomac, MD
“Good location. Best if you do not need to park a car, as parking was outrageously expensive!” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Feb 27, 2008 by
Harpreet from Philadelphia, PA
“There was screaming and shouting outside of my room and it took 3 calls to the front desk to act by sending security an 2 hours later. Needless to say that the children and adults were awake for the most of the night. We were scared as the hotel was very complacent.” Feb 27, 2008 by
Holly from Washington, DC
“I liked it. Really quite clean and comfortable.” Feb 27, 2008 by
Philip from Lincroft, NJ
“Check in was smooth. My request for a room with two beds was honored. Note of apology for ongoing renovation of elevators was in the room & posted in lobby. Parking is expensive.” Feb 23, 2008 by
Cassandra from Midlothian, VA
“Good for one night stay as we did. Rooms were comfortable although the bathroom was uncomfortably small! Parking was high, $34.00 dollars a night.” Feb 23, 2008 by
Monica from Secaucus, NJ
“I would not go back to this hotel unless the price was really cheap and I could specify a non-smoking room. The room was dirty. The wall and ceiling around the vents were black. The bathroom was ridiculously small despite the fact that the room was a good size and they could have expanded the bathroom because the sink was outside the bathroom. We were placed in a smoking room because it was the only room left but the smell was ridiculous and the room needed a thorough cleaning or needed to be gutted. I've had to stay in a smoking room before but clearly this room has never been vented or shampooed.” Feb 21, 2008 by
Lyndell from Elizabethtown, PA
“Overall, the hotel was worth the price. It was convenient, friendly, and very clean. It was not luxurious, but overall very nice. the parking was not well marked (at all) and it was very expensive with no alternatives. overall, a 7.5 out of 10.” Feb 21, 2008 by
Maria from New Milford, NJ
“I would this hotel because of it's general location and the fact that they are in the process of renovations. Therefore, in a year or so it will probably be much better. I liked the concierge staff the most, each one was friendlier than the next. A couple of the front desk staff, well, need an attitude adjustment. I realize why I got the price I did on the hotel because the hotel is under construction/renovations. I would have gladly paid a little more for better accommodations. It should be stated somewhere when a hotel is under construction/renovations.” Feb 21, 2008 by
Mike from New York, NY
“Overall, very pleased with this hotel experience and at such a great rate.” Feb 21, 2008 by
Megan from East Lyme, CT
“Hotel is in an awesome location. We walked everywhere. The hotel arranged for the trolley tour to pick us up and bring us to the Trolley first stop. When we arrived we turned on the hot water in the bathroom sink and no water came out. We called the front desk and they sent someone right away and it was fixed. The bathroom sink did not drain well. There was some construction going on. We did not see it but we heard it. Not on the weekend but after 8:00 am on Monday. Not a big deal since we were not staying in our room all day.” Feb 21, 2008 by
Johanne from San Antonio, TX
“The hotel was pretty much what I expected however, the charge for guest parking was ridiculous. $31 a night! It was the most expensive of all the parking garages in the area and area hotels. The hotel was nice enough to provide a baby crib, but it was more like a baby jail and lacked the comfort that the king sized bed had. I liked the little things that made our stay nice like the relaxation CD, lush bathrobe and towels.” Feb 21, 2008 by
Amanda V. from Clinton Corners, NY
“Great hotel. I would have liked a more comfortable bed, a more extensive hotel cafe, and perhaps an indoor pool.” Feb 20, 2008 by
Kim from Washington, DC
“The lobby area is a bit cramped, and you can tell the hotel is a bit older. When we were there the elevators were under renovation and were not working correctly or promptly (and we were on the 21st floor). But it is a short walking distance to nice restaurants, and a longer but manageable walk to famous Philly tourist attractions. Parking in the city is expensive, but the hotel worked out a small discount for guests.” Feb 19, 2008 by
Leilani from Mamaroneck, NY
“I thought because it was the Crowne Plaza that the rooms would look more modern. But other than that the stay was very nice.” Feb 19, 2008 by
Abby from Pittsburgh, PA
“Great beds and shower; small bathrooms; very noisy - the walls were paper thin; overall, nice hotel, especially location.” Jan 26, 2008 by
Allison J. from Westwood, MA
“They even allowed for an early check in. Great experience.” Jan 25, 2008 by
Mac from Laurel, MD
“Crowne plaza Philly, a convenient location, does everything right - clean, quiet, comfortable, nicely appointed rooms, good service, and decent pub/restaurant on premises. My only complaints were very minor: garage was a bit dingy, heating system slightly drafty, view from the room was not so great, and shower nozzle was a cheapie.” Jan 14, 2008 by
Eyrone from Philadelphia, PA
“Clean and convenient location with great staff.” Jan 8, 2008 by
Jay from Upper Marlboro, MD
“Under construction, however, the room was nicely appointed, and the staff was friendly.” Jan 8, 2008 by
John from Alexandria, VA
“Location a plus for business travelers; perhaps not so for leisure travelers, though tons of restaurants are within a short walk.” Jan 4, 2008 by
Ann from Doylestown, PA
“I read your other reviews and have no idea where the negative comments came from. This hotel has been recently renovated (the elevators are still being upgraded), and is beautifully done. The bedding is super comfortable, the bathroom, though small, was spotless. The staff was very helpful. We had a wonderful stay.” Jan 2, 2008 by
Carol from N. Bethesda, MD
“Undergoing renovation, but not a problem for us.” Dec 21, 2007 by
Donielle from Sinking Spring, PA
“I felt very safe in an area that visitors might feel unsafe.” Dec 19, 2007 by
Paul from Laurel, MS
“Very good value.” Nov 30, 2007 by
Thom from Apollo Beach, FL
“Nice hotel, comfy room and my kids loved the internet access.” Nov 27, 2007 by
Caroline from Silver Spring, MD
“I was greeted warmly by hotel staff. The room was spacious with comfortable furniture, the bathroom was smallish. Centrally located, my only complaint is the high cost of parking, $31/night.” Nov 20, 2007 by
Ragasten (. from Washington, DC
“Overall the stay was enjoyable. The staff other than the one previously mentioned was accommodating and courteous.” Nov 19, 2007 by
Robert from Belleville, MI
“I visited a standard double room a friend was staying in the weekend I visited the Crowne Plaza Philadelphia center city hotel. I was surprised how nice that room was in comparison to the room I was assigned. Upon check-in the young lady at the front desk advised me I was assigned a queen room. When I mentioned that I had selected a king room when I made my reservation the young lady explained the hotel was booked due to a convention and football game and that they were expecting VIPs. Also upon check-in the young lady had trouble with the parking ticket I was provided by their valet. She asked that I return to the garage and obtain the appropriate guest ticket. When I returned to the garage I was turned away with the explanation that they were too busy to issue me a different ticket. Upon check-out the garage attendants were much more helpful assisting me to obtain the appropriate hotel guest rate for parking. The queen room I was assigned was a third of the standard size due to the fact that it was tucked behind an elevator bay. Not an ideal location and not a four star room. When I woke up on Saturday morning to perform my workout I found there was not a service manual in my room that listed the location of their gym. I went to the front desk to ask about their gyms location and request a service manual. The young lady at the front desk explained that there were no extra copies of service manuals. Arriving back to the hotel early Sunday morning I discovered that my electronic key had been deactivated. This required not one but two trips back to the front desk to successfully reactivate. Because of their VIP guests there seemed to be only one elevator bay that was operational with a guard posted. This was not a good travel experience.” Nov 14, 2007 by
Renu from Broomall, PA
“The location was very good, but the people at the hotel were terribly rude and unhelpful. My room was awful. And the most unattractive room I have ever stayed in. It was worse than any two star hotels that I have stayed in. The hallways were dirty in appearance, and the only nice person I crossed paths with there was the valet that returned my car. The worse hotel experience overall.” Nov 7, 2007 by
Robin from Berwyn, PA
“It's impersonal but clean and comfortable. The hotel is on a busy noisy street that is devoted to office buildings and it pretty much rolls up the sidewalks at night. But the side street leads to an area with shopping and restaurants so the Location is acceptable and central for work and play.” Nov 3, 2007 by
Rachel from Hartford, WI
“The hotel was overpriced. My room had bugs in it and it was noisy at night. I felt unsafe in the area at night. Room service food was of poor quality and overpriced. Overall, I felt I paid at least twice as much as the hotel was worth. I was very disappointed and would not recommend staying there to anyone. I would not stay there again.” Oct 31, 2007 by
Jennie from Greenwich, CT
“This hotel, located in a seedy part of downtown Philadelphia, was not a good value for the money. Check in is at 4:00pm, with no early check in options. The room was not in great shape, with carpet heavily stained, giving it a seedy appearance. I suggest going up or down in price to get good value.” Oct 24, 2007 by
Sandy from Baltimore, MD
“This was an older, more dilapidated property, although the room itself was clean. Bathroom was aging badly. We had to wait forever for elevators. The location was fantastic easy access to tons of shops and restaurants.” Oct 18, 2007 by
Lisa from Montclair, NJ
“This hotel virtually has no lobby and a terrible concierge area and service. As a guest to the city that wanted to site see with my family this hotel was not the right choice. I felt abandoned in the hotel, here's your key and you're on your own!” Hotel Representatives:
