• The location was great.
• The service and room was extremely poor. Very disappointed overall.

“The location was very good, but the people at the hotel were terribly rude and unhelpful. My room was awful. And the most unattractive room I have ever stayed in. It was worse than any two star hotels that I have stayed in. The hallways were dirty in appearance, and the only nice person I crossed paths with there was the valet that returned my car. The worse hotel experience overall.”

• Nice sized rooms with comfortable beds.
• On a noisy street.

“It's impersonal but clean and comfortable. The hotel is on a busy noisy street that is devoted to office buildings and it pretty much rolls up the sidewalks at night. But the side street leads to an area with shopping and restaurants so the Location is acceptable and central for work and play.”

• The concierge was helpful.
• My room had bugs in it. Also, the area was unsafe at night.

“The hotel was overpriced. My room had bugs in it and it was noisy at night. I felt unsafe in the area at night. Room service food was of poor quality and overpriced. Overall, I felt I paid at least twice as much as the hotel was worth. I was very disappointed and would not recommend staying there to anyone. I would not stay there again.”

• Carpet in room was very stained, and bathroom smelled of mildew.

“This hotel, located in a seedy part of downtown Philadelphia, was not a good value for the money. Check in is at 4:00pm, with no early check in options. The room was not in great shape, with carpet heavily stained, giving it a seedy appearance. I suggest going up or down in price to get good value.”

• Wonderful convenient location!
• The hotel parking was $31 but you could park in the same garage for $20 as a non hotel guest!

“This was an older, more dilapidated property, although the room itself was clean. Bathroom was aging badly. We had to wait forever for elevators. The location was fantastic easy access to tons of shops and restaurants.”

• Room was extremely cramped and the lobby area is terrible and non existent.

“This hotel virtually has no lobby and a terrible concierge area and service. As a guest to the city that wanted to site see with my family this hotel was not the right choice. I felt abandoned in the hotel, here's your key and you're on your own!”

• The proximity to my event, which I attended, and sight seeing.
• Did not receive wake up call. Gratuity policies fro room service. It was automatically, included then another line indicated an additional tip.

“Overall, the staff was personal and professional. The front desk extended their mission to correct the problem, when problems arose.”

• The lobby and common areas are excellent.
• They had the highest parking rates in the city.

“Nice, clean hotel. No wireless. No in-room refrigerator. Highest parking rate in the city. Cannot walk to your car once it is parked. You have to have the valet bring it to you and re-park even if you just want to place something in the car or get something out. This process takes a minimum of 5-10 minutes.”

• Every employee that I came in contact with was very outgoing and professional.
• The elevators seemed like a ride at an amusement park - very bumpy with lots of drops.

“Walking in the surrounding area made me a little uneasy at night. The bed was very comfortable and the linens were great. The bathroom was very tiny and you basically had to step into the tub or on top of the toilet to close the door.”

• Few and small elevators, concierge was not proactive in providing information; the parking lot in the fourth made floors tremble at times.

• The location was perfect, right in the center of town.
• The customer service was not good.

“I asked a woman at the front desk directions to a concert hall and she sent me to a completely different location from where I needed to be. I had traveled to Philadelphia from D.C. specifically to attend the event and ended up being late and spending a lot of money on the cab ride (because I was directed to walk a few blocks away when it was really a twenty minute drive). A group of women I met at the Crown Plaza that attended the concert had received the same directions and were inconvenienced as well (as they had traveled from New York for the show). When I informed another woman at the front desk of what had happened, she simply apologized, which was fine, but it would have been nice if she had offered me a discount for the next time I stayed at their hotel (or some type of compensation for the inconvenience they had caused). The room itself was fine, it fit my needs exactly and the location was absolutely perfect.”

• Bathroom extremely small, Very thin walls, Construction noise early morning hours, Parking prices very high.

“My husband and I are business owners and took the weekend off to get some rest and relaxation. That did not happen at this hotel. The walls are extremely thin and we heard our neighbors up all night laughing and talking as if we were all in the room together. Then when we finally did get to sleep, the construction noise woke us up at 8 o'clock in the morning! The bathroom is so small it seems like a practical joke.”

• We were woken up by a noisy group at 2 am. Hotel security did take care of it right away.

• Great location. Walking distance to shops, museums and parks.
• Parking was pricey. $31 a day.

“Wonderful hotel. Front desk staff was very friendly. Gave us a map of the city and directions to walk to the Franklin Institute. He also recommended a great restaurant a block away called Cosmopolitan.”

• The room was very comfortable with all the info at your fingertips to make for a pleasant experience.
• The elevators seemed slow in arriving and the ice machine on floor 12 needed to be repaired or replaced.

“The hotel deserves its 3 Star rating. My experience was pleasant, the location was perfect for me, & I would recommend the hotel for any traveler.”

• Great bar/restaurant (Elephant & Crowned).
• $32 per day for parking! Way too expensive!

“Room was nice; restaurant/bar was cozy, great chicken wings, great beer selection! Overall a very nice place to stay, but parking (valet only) was way too expensive ($32 per day!).”

• The bathroom was not particularly clean and it was quite small.

“The Crowne Plaza Philadelphia-Center City is a nice location. I felt pretty safe walking back to the hotel at night. However, the bathroom was dingy and the room had a strange odor in it. I did not think it was 3-star upscale caliber.”

• The location is excellent. It is in a great neighborhood, near historical sites and museums.
• The room was small.

“The location is excellent. The hotel is in a great neighborhood, near shopping, historical sites and museums. Our room had two double beds was small. Down the hall was an extremely loud soda and ice machine which could only be drowned out by the music we played in our room. The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating.”

• I think the rooms could have more lighting and the furniture is a little dated.

• Sense of arrival, lobby doesnt reflect quality of hotel.

“Overall experience ok, we had a good time. Breakfast selection from poor to very poor, especially service, restaurant not clean, cutlery completely covered with water stains. Room service used three times, very good and accurate. It seems the food outlets on lobby level are not operated by the hotel.”

• Great location, close to all the attractions of center city ¿ Philadelphia.
• The elevator of hotel is very slow and noisy.

“The elevators (4 elevators) of the hotel take lifetime to arrive. We have spent more than 10 minutes waiting for it. And when it does arrive, it makes this loud warning noise if the door has been open for few seconds. Annoying when you are holding the door for someone or their staff has to get their cart into the elevator. Great room, cleanliness, location and service. Just recommend not to take room on higher level or next to elevator.”

• Crowne plaza is convenient, within walking distance ,to suburban station and the restaurants/shops of ritten house square.
• The broadband internet access in the rooms should be free as it is in many lesser star hotels.

“The cowne plaza exudes an air of quality from its' very approach on street level. There is a warm, inviting area just off. A short distance from this area is the lobby that is equipped for wireless access. A short walk from this area finds an inviting and active pub/restaurant that handily serves breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late night fare. The room was clean and comfortable. The ed had the crowne plaza's famed mattress and an over abundance of pillows.”

• The staff was helpful & we were able to enjoy our privacy & quiet time.
• Restaurants could be better. Not enough help. We left one morning when no one would serve us.

“The hotel is in a very convenient location; walking distance to many attractions & restaurants. The hotel staff is very friendly & helpful, but the restaurants seem to lack enough people to adequately service the customers. The room was clean, however the bathroom was small. The room itself lacked furniture. At least another chair in the room is needed especially if more than one person is eating a meal. Another small table closer to the vanity area would be beneficial as well. Overall though, the experience was appealing enough that I would stay here again & recommend the stay to others as well.”

• The location in center city was convenient to major attractions.
• Our dinner experience in the restaurant featured poor service.

“The Crowne Plaza had updated clean rooms which were comfortable. The shower/toilet bathroom was quite small but the shower had good pressure and temperature even on the top floor. The staff was helpful and courteous. The restaurant was quite slow apparently understaffed on a holiday weekend and our waitress was quite unapologetic about it. The manager made amends though. The proximity to good center city restaurants should limit the times you eat in the hotel. We only ate there because our meal at another restaurant was interrupted by a power outage. Overall, it is a good hotel in a convenient spot.”

The rooms were very clean, beds very comfortable, and the staff extremely helpful and pleasant. It was a nice mini-break from NYC for my husband and me.”

• The hotel staff was excellent. Very friendly and helpful.
• I probably would not dine or use the dining facility again.

“The hotel staff greeted me very warmly and made me feel comfortable before I got to my room. It would have been nice to know that the adjacent parking lot was under construction. Lower level rooms may not have a good view. The valet parking was very slow (10-20 minute wait). Lounge attendants not too customer service oriented. Although there were problems with the valet and lounge. The hotel staff made up for it. I would definitely consider staying at the crowned plaza in the future.”

• Front desk staff was very courteous and helpful.
• $31 valet parking only option other than finding street parking.

“This hotel more or less meets the basic needs of a traveler - comfortable beds, clean rooms, all basic amenities taken care of. The parking situation leaves a lot to be desired - $31 for valet parking is ridiculous and on street parking is metered except on Sunday. The front desk staff is helpful. The location is very good if you're mostly looking at activities in the center of the city. ”

• The staff was very friendly and made me feel very much at home. From the bellboy at check in to the bellboy at checkout, they were all so professional.
• I did not like the parking setup.

“I was surprised to find a hotel that is located in the heart of center city that kept good control on the number of people that were serviced. Though I did not like the price of the parking, the hotel staff made sure that the guests were attended to. When they gave me a room on the 24th floor, I felt like a dignitaries. ”
