• The hotel was new and clean.
• The price I paid was not that different from the regular price. The hotel was not that special-very generic.

“Too far from town, not a 3 star hotel, very plain, no bath tub, not a high quality of sheets (thread count) parking was a problem, pool filled with children, cookies at the beginning were good, children running in the lobby, children under the age of 16 in the poor, not smoking-good, buffet was full by the time we got there.”

• The lobby and public spaces were nice and clean.
• The rooms were noisy and you could hear TV from the next room.

“The room was OK until the room next to us turned on their TV and watched it till 1am it was very difficult to put kids to sleep with so much noise. The shower Rod was loose from the ends so the curtain kept on opening and the whole bathroom was getting wet.”

• They hold allot of gatherings - could get noisy at times.

“The hotel lobby was undergoing construction at the time. The rooms were small and housekeeping failed to show up one day. I would not go back to this establishment.”

• Clean room, albeit small.
• Unaccommodating, noisy, poor service.

“The front desk is not accommodating at all. She told me the daylight saving time was already set in the room clock, which I found not true. Upon entering the room, the toilet was flushing, which only needs a small touch as we all do at home, but apparently no one bothered to take care of it on their way out. I requested for a missing light bulb of the floor lamp, which took an hour and two calls to get delivered. The floor I stay was noisy till late night from the kids, even though I asked for a quiet room, hence the unaccommodating front desk as mentioned above. Overall not a pleasant experience and I won't recommend it to others.”

• Have been at 2 double tree hotels and been impressed with bed comfort # pillows etc.
• The view is less than inspiring!

• Walls paper thin, constantly awoken by loud talking in hallways.

“Although recently refurbished (construction was still ongoing in November, 2007), this hotel suffers from being a large square box placed amidst a sea of asphalt. The location is therefore convenient to many things but entirely non-appealing. Much appears new but more than anything what it needs is sound insulation between the rooms and the hallways. Even with our room at the end of a hallway, the quietest hallway conversations boomed through the room awakening one from the soundest sleep. One shudders to think what a loud person in the hallway would sound like.”

• Very small bathroom/shower.

“The hotel was conveniently located to major highways, restaurants, and the airport. Room was clean and well provisioned. There was tea/coffee available in the lobby at all times.”

• It's beautiful the room looked like a 4 star to me, not a 3 star.
• It was a little hard to see how to enter; we had to do a u turn.

“Very nice place! We asked for directions to a brew pub and they gave us excellent directions. The room was pretty and quiet and we will stay there again, so much more economical than Philly hotels.”

“I found this hotel to be a great choice. When I entered my room I found the dresser in the middle of the floor, I called the desk and 3 men came to move the dresser in less than 5 minutes. The room was clean and comfortable. The pool was also very nice.”

“Stayed on the 7th floor. I requested a room with good lighting and was assigned a good choice. The hotel is a bit too family friendly. Children were all over the hotel and a bit noisy. Fortunately, I was placed on the top floor hopefully to accommodate my needs for some quiet time.”

• The lower lobby outside seating area was pleasant.
• No one in party of 10 in four different rooms slept well due to the noisy air conditioning.

“Pool is shallow and small. Hot tub was nice. Hotel is difficult to access in southbound direction. Beds were very firm and comfortable. Room was recently rehabilitated with new carpet. Price was high for value of rooms. One toilet did not flush but was fixed quickly. Other numerous problems addressed quickly.”

• The staff was very efficient and friendly and took care of the problems we had with the toilet not flushing in one of the rooms.
• The pool was only 3-4 feet deep. There were no waste cans in our room. The safety lock screws were striped and kept falling out.

“Courteous and friendly staff. The rooms were nicely decorated. The place had just been renovated which was probably why there were a few things that needed adjusted and just hadn't been done yet.”

“The staff was friendly, but the carpets were haggard. Made you not want to walk barefoot. Only half of the ice machines work. And each time staff sees you going to a different floor for ice, they "put in a call" to have it fixed. I was at the hotel 2 different times over a span of 2 weeks, and they tried to act as if it was the first time they had heard of the machines not working.”

“Convenient midway point from the Philadelphia airport, Brandywine sites, and downtown Wilmington, this Doubletree covers most aspects of a mid-upscale hotel reasonably well. Staff was friendly and helpful. Property is being renovated. It is popular for events (receptions, dinners, etc.) on weekends, which makes the hotel louder and parking tougher. Pool and moderate-sized exercise area were clean. There is an on-site restaurant that offers ticket-check room-service as well. Nice touch was new clock radios in which you can plug your mp3 player.”

• Successfully remodeled older hotel, but still with thin walls (noisy).

“Well located for restaurants and shopping, easy access from I-295, not so easy from NJ Turnpike but worth a side trip. Still undergoing renovation (5/07) but will be very nice when finished. Rooms are slightly smaller than Hampton or Courtyard but nicely furnished and with good beds. Has inherited the thin walls from the older construction, but if it isn't crowded it's bearable. Take your ear plugs.”

• There were holes in the ceiling outside my room ¿ remodeling.

“This hotel was ok. The bed was comfortable and I liked that they asked if I wanted a wake-up call as I checked in at 1:00am. They are apparently doing some remodeling, and there were holes in the ceiling near the elevator (right outside my room). The sign "please excuse our appearance." didn't look professional and the plastic covering over the holes in the ceiling probably could have been a little cleaner- the hotel smelled a little damp. Overall not a bad place, but I was later able to stay right down the street for the same price and got a free breakfast and wireless internet. (My cereal, fruit and coffee cost me $8 here).”

• The staff and people I met at cocktails were wonderful.

“The front desk and accounting need re-staffing. The elevators were completely in shambles and there was mold and mildew in the grout. The bedding was old and way outdated! You should not send people to hotels that are renovating, not at least that one!”

• Renovations are a vast improvement over the previous decor. Beautiful bathroom; granite sink-top.
• Renovations are not complete on certain floors. All staff is not cordial.

“The renovated rooms are much improved over what they used to be. Comfortable beds, beautiful bathrooms; the polished granite sink tops look very upscale. The staff was not very personable and the elevator had some damage (maybe from the construction taking place on the lower floors). I rate the hotel an 8 out of 10 and would definitely return.”

• The hotel staff was exceptional.
• There was a religious service with extremely loud music right underneath us that woke us up in the morning. Don't stay on the second floor.

“The hotel is in a great location for shopping and dining. It's older and is in the process of being redone. Our room was nicely appointed. A negative was the in room heater. It was so loud when it started up that we moved to the other bed to avoid it. Do not stay on the second floor. It is right over the two ballrooms. If there is a loud party with music going it sounds like it's in the next room and you will be unable to sleep. When we complained about the noise the staff bent over backwards to correct as much of the situation as possible.”

“The hotel was located directly on a major roadway. It was convenient to shopping and restaurants. The room was beautifully decorated. The front desk staff was pleasant and helpful. The hotel had a real warm feeling. The best part of my stay was the warm chocolate chip cookie. delicious. I will definitely return.”

• The staff was excellent.
• First room I had smelled & I requested to be moved. They are doing renovations.

“This hotel is located about a 10 minute drive from Dupont Nemours children's hospital along surface streets. It is off of 202, which crosses 95. There are plenty of shops and restaurants nearby and the area is safe.”

“The staff is friendly and helpful from the front desk to the restaurant to the maid service. The elevator is slow and needs some repair on the marble floor. The shower ceiling was peeling and needed to be repaired. The cookies are warm and wonderful. The millions of pillows on the bed make the bed comfortable. .”

• The room impressed us as being more attractive than our room at the Hyatt regency. Free internet is a big plus.
• No negative response. Great hotel and very economical.

“I stay at the doubletree in Wilmington during most of my visits. They always seem to be able to accommodate my stays. Our room of 5th floor was very nice and impressed us. We spent previous nights at the Hyatt in Princeton (great lobby!). The rooms are not as nice as doubletree.”
