• The particular front desk that I had was not helpful at all.

• Customer Service was top notch! Great people working there.
• Rooms are small.

“This is an older hotel with mostly outside entrances and the rooms are on the small side. Rooms and lobby are updated, well maintained and very clean. The staff is 4 star. Pleasant, helpful, courteous and willing to go the extra mile every time with every guest. We would choose to stay there again.”

• I enjoyed the hotel very much; I could not find anything wrong in it.

“According to the price is one of the best moderate hotels that I have ever been! I felt very welcome by the staff, and enjoyed the wonderful king side bed! I was working most of the time in my room, and it was very silent! I hope to be back soon!”

• Friendly staff great am breakfast.
• Outside access of rooms. Probably due to a convert from another hotel to Fairfield. Most new airfields aren't built this way.

“Great value friendly staff. Good breakfast, comfy beds. The room and bathrooms are a little small however. Hotel is a former converted motel as room access is outside. Hotel is in a convenient, safe area!.”

• The continental breakfast was very good.
• Our room had ANTS!!!!

“The hotel was for an overnight get away for my husband and me since we had a mother with open heart surgery that we had been taken care of for many weeks. We needed a getaway night, thought it would be fun, however we found ANTS on the desk, on the heater/ac and then on my purse and then on the bed in the morning. I was very upset about this. We did not have any food or sweets with us and my husband said he had seen a couple on the night we arrived. But in the daylight the next morning, we saw many more. We just wanted to check out of there.”

“The hotel is located right off the highway but in back of a Borders bookstore so the location was a bit odd. I was visiting the University of Delaware and the hotel is about 6 miles from the college that is in downtown Newark. I found this to be annoying. Other than that the location wasn't that great, the hotel itself was very nice. The room was beautifully decorated but unfortunately the room did not have windows that opened. I had asked for a non-smoking room but they could not accommodate me. This would not have been a big problem if I could have opened a window to air out the room. I could not and the room reeked of a stale smoke smell that was very unpleasant.”

• Poor Internet connection and ants, no guest laundry.

“We had to move our room because the Internet connection didn't work (even with the boost antenna). The new room was on the third floor which has enclosed corridors. Only problem was - lots and lots of tiny ants! They said they would take care of them while we were out, and there did seem to be fewer when we returned.”

“Due to the poor Internet connection (even with hotel-provider antenna booster) we were moved to the third floor interior corridor section. The Internet connection, while better, constantly cut in and out making it very difficult to get any work done. This room also had lots of tiny little ants. They were supposed to do something about the ants while we were out. I don't k now if they did but there were fewer of them when we returned.”

• Most of the rooms are accessed from outside - if I'd been on the first floor, I would have worried.

• Did not give me my second wake up call and therefore was late to work since the traps are drawn in most hotel rooms. not to mention the quantity.

“I do no think that this hotel, for $52, is rated anywhere close to that of the courtyard by Marriott that you have put me in before that is located at the university of Delaware. I strong wish not to be associated with Fairfield hotel if I submit a price for $52. is there anyway that is possible to do ??a disgruntled patron.”

• The front desk clerk was very friendly and helpful.
• Housekeeping knocked on our door around 8am. We were still asleep.

“I work at a elementary school & I wanted just to get away before school started. Our room was right in front of the pool. The view was great & just cozy enough to make a wonderful weekend getaway! I really enjoyed all the friendly & helpful staff at the hotel. I would highly recommend that hotel.”

• Nice rooms, pool, breakfast and chocolate chip cookies.
• Noise at night caused by a large and loud returning group.

“Check-in was easy and we were given the double non-smoking room that we requested. We also enjoyed the fresh chocolate chip cookies. The room was nice, had comfortable beds, and a decent selection of cable TV channels. We used the pool and enjoyed breakfast the following morning. We would definitely stop here again, even though we there was one disturbance in the middle of the night when a loud group returned to their rooms.”

• this stay I happen to have accommodations below the 3rd floor workout, exercise room. I was awakened by the noise associated with a treadmill...

“otherwise I will continue to say only positive things on my many stays and reviews on this hotel site. When we travel and are staying in the area, with the cost of gas as it is, we always plan an over-night stay and we are rarely disappointed. • I did not like leaving! It was very comfortable.

“The convenience, the cleanliness, the price can only be out shadowed by the staff. This truly was a pleasant experience. Not the biggest room I have stayed in, but certainly the best experience. Continental breakfast was very good. I was NEVER treated as a "discount" guest. First rate treatment all the way. Highly recommend, even if your budget is not a consideration. Very clean.”

“Convenient location between Newark and Wilmington and near suburban restaurants and big-box stores. Traffic noise was noticeable but not overwhelming for my room in the 340s. Rooms have been updated. Staff was friendly, extending checkout 0.5 hr. Maid service was very late. Reasonable size & variety for cont. breakfast. A good value for any sub-$40 rate.”
