“Large, many rooms, swimming pool, good restaurants, clean, good quality” Aug 13, 2009 by
Karen from Brentwood,NY
“Over all very nice just wish we did not have to demand a room in another wing to take showers in.” Aug 13, 2009 by
Andrew from Grosse Pointe Park,MI
“Although the rooms were quite nice, the rest of the facility was pretty run down. The hallways were dark, walls needed repair, and the carpeting was worn and stained. In the hallway in front of our room, ceiling tiles had been removed exposing the HVAC. It looked like some renovation was underway, but I don't know how much improvement was planned.” Jul 13, 2009 by
Richard from Las Vegas,NV
“Outstanding! Staff was helpfull and accomodating. Rooms were clean and comfortable.” Jul 7, 2009 by
Sam from Mountain Lakes,NJ
“Good location in Reading area. Staff friendly and helpful. Lobby is beautiful but room and hallways were in need of total renovation, peeling wallpaper everywhere, dirty and worn carpets, poorly maintained. Pool area looked dirty tired, spa was gone, covered with wood. I guess it cost too much to fix. Our room had crumbs all over the carpet when we arrived, I guess their vacuums are in need of repair too. Fix it up and manage your cleaning and maintenance staffs properly and you'll earn the 3-3.5 stars.” Dec 31, 2008 by
Clara from Jacksonville,FL
“This hotel was clean, the area where it is located was wonderful for shopping and enjoying the evening with you mate. I told my friend all about our stay.” Oct 3, 2008 by
Thomas
“Overall, very pleasant stay. Would stay here again.” Sep 6, 2008 by
Carol from Shrewsbury, PA
“I missed the entrance off the side road because it wasn't clearly marked but was then able to get to the main entrance without any problem. I had a 2-double-bed room, which also included a recliner that could be used for an extra person. Friday night's Chocolate Fountain was nicely laid out with fresh dippers; this was unexpected and very enjoyable. Nice uncrowded small pool, even on the weekend. May not be good for families with young children, but ok for older, well-behaved kids. Highly recommended.” Sep 2, 2008 by
Thomas
“It was a clean and pleasant place.” Aug 22, 2008 by
Linda from Eldred, PA
“Nice room for the price & has a nice indoor pool (which I wish was open past 10 PM). Staff was very nice. Room was clean!” Aug 22, 2008 by
Kim from Portage, PA
“Very nice accommodations - the staff is very courteous and extremely helpful. The food at the restaurant was excellent.” Aug 21, 2008 by
Bonnie from Lake Hopatcong, NJ
“Very clean. Great location.” Aug 16, 2008 by
Derek from Southbridge, MA
“This is the second time we stayed at the Sheraton in Reading. It was great! During the evening hour on Monday they had a chocolate fountain going in the lobby and it's something different every night! The room was nice - It had two double beds which would have been nice to be queens if the room was a little bigger. The desk in the room was very large and nice for a business traveler. We didn't eat at the restaurant or bar on site but they both looked nice. There is room on site that they have a comedy show on the weekends as well. The indoor pool area was large and has a coffee station available right there. We would definitely stay again!” Aug 8, 2008 by
David from Glen Allen, VA
“We were greeted with welcome to the fabulous Reading Sheraton. It was, expect that housekeeping gave us no washcloths or hand towels; only three full sized towels. Also, the pool did not have available any towels to dry off with; we had to use our precious supply of full sized towels from the room. The public areas and room were all very clean and attractive and the pool was very nice. Great buffet breakfast available also. All in all I recommend for a trip to Reading.” Aug 8, 2008 by
Melissa from Mullica Hill, NJ
“Good stay, nice hotel in a good location, the pool was wonderful, would recommend to stay there again.” Aug 5, 2008 by
Aaron from Livonia, MI
“Poor, I would never stay there again.” Jul 26, 2008 by
Lori R. from Quaker Hill, CT
“Location was excellent and staff was very helpful and friendly. I liked the activities they had in the lobby every night. Overall the hotel is in dire need of remodeling. Very old looking and musty smelling.” Jul 16, 2008 by
Cindy from Northampton, PA
“The lobby and common areas were very nice. Once you past that area it was all downhill. Hall carpeting dirty. Food trays in hall. Went for a soda, tried 3 floors, all soda machines were sold out. This was probably the dirtiest place that I ever stayed at.” Jul 12, 2008 by
David from Greensboro, NC
“This was a great place to stay and the staff was very friendly. The only negative was when I went into the lounge for a drink, I could never get service. After waiting about 10 minutes or so, I just walked out and went back to my room.” Jun 29, 2008 by
Logan from Independence, KY
“I have stayed at this hotel several times, rooms show signs of wear, carpet in rooms generally worn, always hair in bathroom floors and tubs. Beds are very comfortable, staff is very friendly, decent workout room and hotel is located in a good area of town.” Jun 28, 2008 by
Robert from East Brunswick, NJ
“This place is a joke. I stayed there two times and experience is same. Old, tired and outdated property in desperate need of renovations. Poor entry from parking, Laud, drunk patrons at the Karioke Bar. Old Holiday Inn with different name is truly not a Sheraton. Staff friendly, but so is Howard Johnson or Days Inn. Same feeling. This is not a three star property.” May 29, 2008 by
Susan from Henniker, NH
“The staff (from front desk to restaurant to pool guards to housekeepers) was pleasant and helpful at every turn. This was a wonderful and safe location for our family as we visited nearby relatives. Nice fitness center and pool with good hours of availability.” May 27, 2008 by
John from Duxbury, MA
“The worst rooms and the service level from the staff is pitiful. I tried to log on the high speed wired connection because the wireless signal was so weak in my room but could not. Spent 30 minutes on it before giving up as I was only there for one night, here again quality of service not good.” May 24, 2008 by
John from Langhorne, PA
“Our overall stay was nice. Room was nice but the dark blue made it seem a little gloomy.” May 23, 2008 by
Melissa from Raleigh, NC
“I stayed here for business. This place was not bad at all! I don't know if they recently renovated, or if previous posters are just accustomed to luxurious hotels. Personally, I usually stay in Comfort Inns, Quality Inns, etc., because that is what my company's budget will allow. Getting to stay in a Hampton Inn is a treat, to give you some idea of my perspective. This hotel was equivalent to a very nice Comfort Inn, or a slightly below average Hampton Inn. The room was clean, with modern furnishings, and great linens. It was not a hovel by any means. There was even free wired internet in the room (internet cable provided). No fridge/microwave though. I did try to ask for a tower room, as recommended here by someone else, but was told it was fully booked. I ended up in the Paris wing. I will say that the stairway is pretty icky. Well lit, but not pleasant at all. Akin to what you'd find in a parking garage. I did not partake of the onsite restaurant, bar, pool, or gym. There was a 7 p.m. chocolate therapy event (free) there, had I been around at that time, I would have loved, I'm sure, but I was at the nearby outlets. The area is great for finding plenty of restaurants and shopping in the vicinity (Toys R Us across the street, best buy across the parking lot). I would definitely stay here again.” May 20, 2008 by
Carol from Philadelphia, PA
“The staff was the most accommodating and friendly staff that I have seen in a while. Even when walking by the front desk they were checking on you.” May 20, 2008 by
Jim from Odenton, MD
“It's ok nothing to write home about.” May 17, 2008 by
Charles from Endicott, NY
“Hotel staff go out of their way to make your staff wonderful. Management quickly fixed a small problem I have. I would recommend this hotel to all my friends and family.” May 12, 2008 by
Phyllandra H. from Alpharetta, GA
“This hotel should not be rated as a 3 star hotel. It looks like they dont do any maintenance to the rooms. Cleaning is ok, but not great. Just would expect more for a "3 star" hotel.” May 7, 2008 by
Connie from Montgomery Village, MD
“This hotel was attractive, comfortable and made a refreshing, relaxing place for our family to stay.” Apr 30, 2008 by
Roger from West Newton, MA
“We spent one night. The staff was wonderful and the hotel makes the most of its older facilities. Lots of activities, nice indoor pool, good location.” Apr 28, 2008 by
Lalith from Lexington, MA
“Not service oriented desk .Filthy, musty stinking. Worse than a Motel.” Apr 27, 2008 by
Pete from Toledo, OH
“Hotel bathroom was not very clean. Room itself wasn't bad.” Apr 25, 2008 by
Carolyn from Ashland, VA
“The location was excellent, friendly staff, shopping and restaurants close by and easy access to the interstate. Clean and comfortable hotel. I would stay there again.” Apr 24, 2008 by
Lesley from White Plains, NY
“A beautiful facility in a great location, convenient to shops and restaurants.” Apr 22, 2008 by
David from Enola, PA
“We went to the hotel for a over night because of going to a concert. It was a very nice hotel. They upgraded us to a king suite. They were very friendly. The pool area was ok. The hot tub was not as hot as I would have liked and the poll was warmer then it needed to be.” Apr 21, 2008 by
Mary from Vance, SC
“I will not stay there again if I can help it.” Apr 17, 2008 by
Debbie from Brewster, MA
“This was a nice hotel somewhat more tired than other Sheratons we have stayed at but still nice. However, you do not expect to be woken up in the middle of the night by a gang shooting in the parking lot outside your room and walk down to find glass and blood on your car (a hotel employee washed it off for us).” Apr 15, 2008 by
Lori from Jane Lew, WV
“This was a leisure trip, the hotel staff was friendly enough and the location was convenient. The room was not clean, complaint called in to manager because the linens had not been changed since check in (3 nights!), bathroom tile was visibly dirty the entire 3 days, shower floor was sticky and the ice bucket was never cleaned out. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.” Apr 14, 2008 by
Ave from Wharton, NJ
“When my husband suggested that we go on a tour of several micro-breweries; I thought well that's different. So we needed a hotel situated in an ideal location to hit all the spots. The Sheraton was perfect and then to our happy surprise they were featuring one of the breweries at the hotel. We had the best time! The staff was more then wonderful and the pool was beautiful and relaxing. Great time!” Mar 28, 2008 by
Jim from Louisville, KY
“Great location hotel is surrounded by many good restaurants. The rooms are nicely decorated and the beds are as comfortable and as plush as the Westins 5 Star Resorts. The breakfast buffet is plentiful and delicious. The nightclub was entertaining and deverses with nightly entertainment ranging from disco night to jazz night. Everyone had fun.” Mar 26, 2008 by
Connie from Bethlehem, PA
“Three days before check-in, I confirmed with the hotel for king size bed. At the time of check in, the room w/king size bed was not reserved. The desk clerk set us up with the room on the so-call 1st fl of Paris Wing. We could not find an elevator. We didn't need it at the time because we only have one suit case. But imagine customers w/more suit cases. The ice machine on our floor was not working. We had to go up the steps to the 2nd floor for ice. The shower curtain was too short. No microwave and refrigerator in the room. The patio doors on ground level just dont seem secured enough. Some corners of the room has paper wall peeling off. There were some burned spots on the carpet. There was about 1 inch gap from the floor and the door. Big enough for a little mouse to crawl through. I don't feel safe because of the gap and the patio doors. I blocked the gap with towels and pushed the table and chair up against the patio doors. If 2 adults sat at the bottom of the bed (mattress), it will tip. Be careful with the armor, the doors doesn't slide back and the walking space between the open doors of the armor and the bed is about 1 foot to 1 and a half. This is our first time staying at the Sheraton. Didn't know what to expect.” Mar 25, 2008 by
Slickllh from New York, MD
“Check-in was simple and we received two double beds as we requested. The room was mostly clean, except for a stain on the floor between the beds, and our bathroom sink would not drain at all. We alerted the manager about the sink problem and our room was switched and we were given a complimentary breakfast buffet for the following morning. The in-house pool and club/bar were great features. The location was also perfect - 10 minutes from the Sovereign Center and 5 from the VF Outlets. There are also lots of restaurants within walking distance.” Mar 20, 2008 by
Steve from Schuylkill Haven, PA
“Well our waitress was very friendly and helpful, no smoking rooms was a drag and things such as water that was put in our room but had a sign on them if consumed you will be charged $4 a bottle was ridiculous.” Mar 20, 2008 by
Richard from Columbus, OH
“I had an excellent experience and would stay again if traveling to reading.” Mar 12, 2008 by
Clare from Chatham, ON CA
“A good hotel. Easy to find. Good food. Rooms were very comfortable. Need to have a better policy in place regarding noise after 11 p.m.” Mar 9, 2008 by
Shelly from North Haven, CT
“When we arrived at the room, the first thing I had to do was use the bathroom, so that was the first impression of the room that I had and it was not good! There were long black strands of hair all over the bathroom floor. This really grossed me out! I then noticed that there was only less than a 1/4 roll of toilet paper and the tissues box was empty. We had to call twice for these supplies, it was not until later that night that we noticed there were no towels either, had to call again! On a positive note, the bartender was very nice and gave us a free bottle opener.” Mar 7, 2008 by
Randy from Kansas City, MO
“In the towers they serve a complimentary continental breakfast, and snacks in the evening. I was impressed the work ethic and friendliness of Jill (server). She went out of her way to keep the area very clean! plus she was splendid with all the guests! The Sheraton is very fortunate to have an employee like her! Also want to say the front desk help was fantastic!” Mar 5, 2008 by
Joe from Tyngsborough, MA
“Easy access to highway and area, friendly staff, restaurant food well prepared and tasty.” Mar 3, 2008 by
Chris from Wyomissing, PA
“When we checked in at 7:30 PM on 2/26 some of the rooms were not ready. They were still cleaning them. One of the rooms once we got into it had no electric on the one side of the room. This was the side where the alarm clock and lights were. The solution from the hotel was to run an extension cord from the other side of the room and duct tape it down. This Sheraton does not live up to its name or rating.”
