• Nice Lobby.
• The worst beds I have ever experienced.

“The beds are way to soft. Old mattresses have been covered with soft pads making the bed like a hammock. The bedding was composed of an extremely heavy feather comforter and was way too hot to use even with the ac turned down. Speaking of AC, I programmed for 65 degrees, but the thermometer always showed 71 deg. I would never stay at this location again.”

• Location and Bar was OK.
• Bathroom filthy, hairs, open/used bar of soap. Remote did not work.

“At first glance everything seems nice and in order. The staff at the front desk was friendly. The lobby and bar seem nice, but my room was not clean and I did not notice right away as I arrived late at night. I did not notice the open soap and all the hairs in the bathroom until I was going to bed. This was NOT a 3 star hotel. I they got a new housekeeping staff, maybe they could get it back to 3 stars.”

• Value for money spent on Priceline.
• Given humid weather, room/bedding very damp.

“Overall, very happy given price paid. Clean, friendly, well kept, nice rooms, etc. I would recommend hotel to others. It was the second time I've stayed there (both using Priceline I believe), and enjoyed both stays. Only complaint was that given the very humid and hot weather at the time of my stay, the bedding was very damp/humid, although AC was good - bedding was still damp though.”

• Nice bedding, lots of space on bathroom countertop, liked having the desk, & 2 chairs. Loved the lamps with the electric outlet right on the base.
• Ice machine was far from our room.

“It was very nice for our overnight stay when we were attending a wedding about 20 miles east of Syracuse. Because they accepted my bid we were able to stay for a much more reasonable price than staying in Canastota or at Turning Stone without sacrificing quality.”

• Comfortable beds, clean comfortable room.
• Thought $3 for a bottle of soda, $2 small bag chips expensive.

“This hotel was clean, the room and bed were comfortable. Nice friendly staff. Not only shampoo in the bath but conditioner, body lotion even face cleanser and face lotion.”

• This hotel had a great pool, clean room, and convenient location.

“For a typical nice hotel in an industrial city like Syracuse, this hotel exceeded expectations. The room was spacious and clean, the indoor pool was perfect, especially since there was a sauna alongside, and the fitness center was up to date. I liked that there was a whole non-smoking floor. Overall, a positive experience. I would stay there again.”

• I had to ask housekeeping to clean my room and make bed.

“Overall very nice, staff was friendly. The only disappointing aspect was coming back to the hotel on day 2 and finding the room had not been cleaned at 1:30 in the afternoon.”

“Great for business travelers. The most comfortable hotel beds I've ever slept on. Nicely decorated, so pleasing to stay there. Convenient to airport.”

• Comfortable and nice indoor and outdoor pools opened 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. and an exercise room with ample equipment available 24hrs.
• We liked this hotel.

“Good hotel for relaxing and taking time out - Staff was helpful when needed but not on your face. Pools were excellent, also washrooms/shower in pool area and sauna as well as whirlpool. We had a very pleasant stay and will go back there.”

• I enjoyed the balcony.
• Dirty bathroom, was not informed of the down pillows & duvet: Allergic!

“We were there overnight, and that was enough. We alerted the staff that the bathroom had not been cleaned, they informed us that they would take care of it immediately. When we returned later, it had not been touched. Our room clearly only received a quick swipe instead of a thorough cleaning. When a room hasn't been cleaned properly, you certainly have to wonder about when the last time it had been cleaned thoroughly. And of course we couldn't wait to get home and shower, and wash anything that had come in contact with any part of that room, and only then did we feel refreshed. We don't travel often, so I did my research and felt confident with my original decision. Needless to say we were all disappointed.”

• Hotel is located among factories, not a lot of restaurants around.

“My husband and 1 year old daughter visited this hotel on stop through cities on our vacation. The front desk was wonderful and even gave up shopping vouchers and cookies! The room was perfect and the beds. Breakfast buffet was yummy with tons of fruit. Well worth it. More than what we expected. Thanks!”

• Lack of staffs in front desk.

“The location is convenient, room is clean, and the staff is friendly. The only thing I can complain was when I was still in Toronto, I called them to request that I would like to have two double bed in each room, but since they did not have enough staff in the front desk, I waited on the line for almost 20 minutes, otherwise, everything is perfect.”

• Hotel indoor/outdoor pool. Clean spaces.
• Cater many events (weddings, meetings) which makes for noisy neighbors.

• The bed was large and comfortable. The sheets were clean and the pillows were cozy.
• Hotel was several km from restaurant strip and had access doors that did not respond to keys.

“Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was crowded with a king sized bed, a mesh office chair, an L-shaped desk and a large bureau (housing the CRT TV and drawers). Our room was located on a smoke free floor. Sporting facilities include water and machines. One shallow indoor pool sits adjacent to a small hot tub and through a wall of glass. The well equipped fitness centre. Just outside the pool house and in the centre of the quad, another shallow pool begged for swimmers. A four story perimeter of rooms made swimming into a spectator sport. This design also put us on an exercise program as we walked from the front desk to our room. Doubletree sits across the street from Carrier manufacturing facility and near the huge traffic circle with access to the toll Hwy 90. The hotel is really geared to a business traveler or weekend warrior. I thought it deserved just 2.5 stars.”

• The staff tried to be accommodating.
• The bathroom in the room was dirty with long dark hair and a broken door.

“The Doubletree Syracuse reminded me of another brands failed hotel, that was in the exact same location. The hallways and public areas are tired, and the rooms have general repair problems. I will not return.”

• Beds were extremely comfortable, hotel staff were wonderful. Free warm cookies at checking was nice touch.
• Long walk from elevator to room.

“Conveniently located off the NYS thruway. While nestled next to many of the national hotels, this hotel was head and shoulders above the rest. The hotel was beautiful. The beds had a boatload of pillows. I slept so soundly that I wished I didn't have to leave the next day. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an upscale hotel at a reasonable price.”

“I liked the hotel. When we checked in there was a problem with some bug and a few big spiders in the room and the persons across the hallway, but the person on duty, was very nice and took care of the problems right away. The rest of our stay was fine, except our getting lost getting back to the hotel.”

• It has a very nice restaurant in the hotel.
• When I went in the bathroom, there was a housekeeping cleaning bottle left in the bathroom.

“I enjoyed the hotel, but I did not like the fact that when I went into the bathroom there was a bottle of housekeeping cleaning solution on the bathroom sink. I did not have my son with me, but I was a little upset that if I had him with me he could have got the bottle and thought that it was something to drink and tried to drink some of it. When I brought the bottle to the lobby, I was thanked for returning it, but no apology that it was left in my bathroom.”

• Poor quality control.

“Our room smelled used. A drop of blood was on one of the sheets. The pillows smelled. The sheets were not crisp as they were on past trips. The second night, we noticed the drop of blood was on the top sheet, duvet and bottom sheet. It became obvious that the sheets had not been changed from the last visitor.”

• Our room was not as clean as possible.

“This hotel did not differ much from a 2 star hotel that we stayed at. The 2 star hotel offered complimentary breakfast too, where this 3 star hotel did not. The room did look new though, but the room cleaning personnel did not do too great of a job cleaning the room, it could have been more clean. There was hair all over the toilet seat cover. It was a new looking hotel, but feels about the same as a 2 star hotel in Syracuse.”

• People were friendly.
• No one could tell us where to get something to drink we melted ice from the ice machine.

“We were greeted by very friendly people. Our floor had a musty odor to it. No one could tell us until we checked out that there was a place by the service desk to get something to drink we asked 3 different people about vending machines no one knew of any we had to end up getting ice from the ice machine and letting it melt to have something to drink. The beds were very comfy but was not impressed with the rooms at all for a 3 star hotel. There was not a frig or a mike. We went to the store just to get a pair of trunks for my husband so we could go swimming and the pool was so cold you could not even get in it this was very discouraging we were really looking forward to relaxing at the pool. We ordered food in from the rest. and it was so bad we could not even eat it. The only thing this hotel had going for it were the staff, they were very friendly. We usually stay in a 2 star when we come to syracuse and our next trip we would rather be there then at this one.”

“This is my favorite hotel in the Syracuse area, conveniently located near a Thruway exit, but far enough away to avoid noise. It offers superb staff, clean rooms, and excellent dining as well.”

• Calamari was a little over cooked.

• The bed was comfortable and the room clean.
• 20% service charge including 15% tip was automatically added to room service + there was a line on the precept for tips.

“The hotel was comfortable, clean and in a good location for us. The staff could have been more professional and I did not like that they charged a 20% service charge for room service including 15% tip and had a place on the room service receipt for tips.”

• Linens and beds are great! Also, the cookies were wonderful.
• The bath tile had red and black mold in the grout, there was no luggage stand and the air conditioner was noisy.

“I stayed there two night, Friday, and Sunday. The Friday night stay was perfect, Sunday the room was very disappointing.”
