• Bartenders were very nice and funny.

“Very clean. I asked for a room on a certain floor as a friend was already staying there. They accommodated me with no problem. Very helpful front desk. Great bartenders.”

• Comfy bed, beautiful decor, and free internet.
• No wireless in room, small bathroom, and 2 elevators.

“I would stay here again. The room was a good size, especially considering the shape of the hotel. The room was done is warm colors with adjustable lighting. When I was there they were doing complimentary internet (until the end of the year), so that was a plus. Everything in the room was modern and worked well. The downside was that the bathrooms are very small, and there are only two elevators for the entire hotel (there are 20 floors). I would recommend this hotel, I really enjoyed it.”

• Comfortable bed, nice TV and desk.
• In-room Internet not free, no pool.

“In general the hotel was well-maintained with a pleasant room. There is no pool, and the Internet in the room has a fee, which I felt was pretty chintzy for a nice hotel. The hot water in the building was not working in the morning, so no shower, but the staff was excellent.”

• The room was laid out so nice. It was modern yet functional. It was very spacious. The breakfast buffet was very reasonable considering the hotel.
• There was a wedding party so the hallways were noisy through the night. The guest should be more considerate.

“This hotel was wonderful. I was located right off the highway and near the university. The breakfast buffet was great and affordable. I loved the rooms. It was very clean and the layout and decor was fantastic. Very modern and chic.”

• Room decor was modern.
• Some aspects of the hotel show its age. Food is so-so.

“Although the room is very modern, you can tell it has been renovated. Not all portions of the hotel seem to match the same standard. It is convenient since it is right next to the highway, but your room could be noisy for the same reason. Food was OK.”

“Very nice hotel. The rooms are slightly smaller than a standard hotel room but very nice. There is no pool. We stayed on the 18th floor. The elevators were a little slow due to a heavy volume of use. Parking was very convenient and free of charge in a parking garage adjacent to the hotel.”

• Josh at the front desk provided amazing service. Room was nice.
• Nothing much around it. Restaraunt was overpriced.

“Totally a good experience. At check in, Josh was fantastic. The room was nice. The restaraunt was way overpriced & nothing was near the hotel to grab an "everyday" sandwich or salad.”

• Attention paid to fact it was our anniversary. Provided us wine, cheese, crackers.
• Location: streets are convoluted when attempting to find.

“Desk staff extremely polite and friendly. It was a very pleasant surprise that we were offered the complimentary tray of cheese, crackers and wine. The room was great, very modern and stylish. Not the usual hotel decor. (Nothing was offered at our NYC room and the NYC hotel initially placed us in a room with a view of the back of an air exchange unit).”

• Clientele seemed questionable.

“The room was nice. Windows could use a wash. No door on the shower so water went everywhere. Some of the customers staying there were a bit scary. I had to call down a few times because my neighbors were screaming at each other talking. Not a good experience for me at all.”

“The hotel staff was extremely nice and very accommodating. The front desk was very helpful and tried to take care of our every need.
Their shuttle driver, was extremely courteous and knowledgeable about the area. The rooms have been redone quite well and were very comfortable.”

“This is probably one of the better hotels in the Syracuse, NY area. Well decorated rooms with a large flat screen TV, great shower and unique amenities. Parking is also free which is a huge plus! The internet was expensive and the elevators were pretty slow, but overall it was a great hotel.”

• I was surprised that there was no hair dryer or mini bar at this level hotel.

“The hotel is centrally located near shops and businesses and not far from the university. The staff is helpful and pleasant, across the board. Aside from the lovely hotel rooms, and convenience, I would say the staff is what sells this hotel. I enjoyed my stay and look forward to my next trip.”

• Finishes were all updated very nice.
• Rooms were tiny. Hotel has 30 floors with just 2 elevators.

“The Lobby is really nice, the bar and sitting lounge is really nice as well. The rooms were very small
tiny. The bathrooms had very little space as well. the new finishes are nice but it doesnt add any space to the rooms. I would say that this hotel is definitely not a 4 star hotel, more along the lines of a 3 star hotel. Also, there are 30 floors of rooms with just 2 elevators serving them. At 8 am I had to wait a solid 20 minutes for an elevator to get downstairs.”

• Too close to the I81 - we could hear every car that passed.

• It did not have free internet for laptops in the rooms.

• The room was very small, no continental breakfast. No comfortable chair, towels were rough. No breakfast, coffee removed early.
  

“The staff was wonderful, the bed comfortable and the shower was great. Otherwise I found myself in an economy hotel with a pretty sink. There was no comfortable chair, I had to sit on the bed if I wanted a comfortable place, and the bench provided was awful. The towels were rough and not pleasant to dry with. No continental breakfast and the coffee were removed before 11:00 am. It is nice that the hotel was so pretty, but I would prefer more amenities.”

• Staff - room design with limited use of space -room finishes.
• Too few elevators - cramped room.

“Professional and friendly staff. Hotel is well appointed. The room is finished well but due to room configuration, two double beds block bathroom entrance. Bathroom has no door to sink area which means using the sink area is disruptive to anyone else in the room. One tiny trash pail for bathroom and living areas. No dresser or other drawers and lamp by bed cannot be turned on/off easily.”

• The best bed we ever slept in while traveling. Many pillows, soft sheets and outstanding comforter.
• Very slow elevator. Large hotel with only 2 elevators.

  did not like the location and it was in a very sketchy part of town.

“This hotel was very nice once you got inside the surrounding area of the hotel.
I would call nothing less then sketchy and a place
I wouldn't walk alone at night and I'm in the armed forces but inside the hotel and the garage it was very nice. The room was exceptional had a nice fitness center and the staff was very professional. Overall,
I would give my experience a 7 out of 10.”

• The bed was incredible. The shower was heavenly. The staff went above and beyond. Loved this place.
• The neighborhood was a little rough. There were no shops or restaurants nearby.

have to go to syracuse this would be the place to stay. The rooms are lovely and roomy. You won't want to get out of the bed. Its a little fancy for families with young kids but the staff was very patient. There was alot of activity: concert, State Fair, and even a wedding at the hotel. Tweens all over but the staff responded to all our requests promptly and graciously. The restaurant was very good. The decor, food and staff were wonderful. Its a little pricy but the portions and quality were worth it.”

“I have stayed at the Marx twice and both times were great. The rooms were very clean, the bedding and mattress are very comfortable, almost like being at home.

The staff were friendly, even to the point where we had a hotel employee drive us into town to get a couple of things from the store. Luxury amenities, great ambiance overall we had a great time at The Marx.”
