• Better than average mattress. Nice hallway to room.
• The TV was geared to sell shows and movies. I was charged $5.99 for accidentally ordering a rerun of a current show.

• The hotel was very clean, and the staff was friendly and accommodating.
• The sofa-bed had no bedding. We were told that bedding was provided in one of the dressers, but found only one blanket.

• Everyone was friendly and courteous. Checked in was early. The grounds and common areas were well kept.
• Bathroom was not as clean as expected. Reception gave wrong room number, off by a floor and pointed us in the wrong direction.

“I tend to stay at Marriott Courtyards because I have always had good experiences and they are nicely furnished. The price was a little high for the location.”

• They did not clean my room one day, the parking lot in uneven wet shoes from rain accumulation

• The room was comfortable, and well decorated.
• The elevator was broken, and the A/C wasn't adequate.

“Overall, the experience was fairly good. The directions provided by the hotel's website were incorrect, causing us to spend too much time back-tracking. The staff was friendly, the rooms were well-decorated. Unfortunately, the A/C in our room did little to combat the heat and humidity. Would we stay again? Yes, but I would hope to pay a little less for the experience.”

“This hotel is a good choice for those who want the quality that comes with the name Marriott, but who do not want to pay the prices that come with beachfront properties. If someone does not mind traveling ten to twelve minutes to get to the hotel, then this is a great option.”

• This hotel usually let me pick out my room since I have stayed there many times, my check in clerk stated in could not be done.

“You call this an airport location, the manager laughed at me when I told him they're 15 miles from the airport. Ridiculous. Cost me 25 dollars more to keep the rental car an additional day since airport was too far to catch a shuttle.”

• Hotel was nice, clean, close to interstate that go to the beach.
• I was little bit far away from the beach.

“For price that we paid it was really good. Rooms are clean and smell good. We got a lot of extra towels. Staff was friendly and gave us a lot of nice brochures about attractions on Virginia Beach. We really liked it.”

“I expected a complimentary breakfast and newspaper but got neither. Also, the TV only had basic channels 2-13, no premium channels or movies. Otherwise, the hotel was attractive, convenient to expressway, clean, comfortable, and staff was friendly.”

• Quiet, clean, and well maintained hotel.
• Additional charge for bottled water.

“The Courtyard was very clean and quiet and felt like a typical Marriott. There was a decent sized lobby with free coffee and tea. Pool and spa were well maintained. The room was quite nice, very comfortable. Hotel staff was very responsive to our requests during our stay. The only odd thing about our hotel was the sliding glass door that opened up to the parking lot, though it made for an easy move-in and move-out.”

• great pool and hot tub, friendly staff, quiet location between beach and downtown norfolk
• had drink machines but no food vending.

“Picked this area to take a carnival cruise and spend some time at virginia beach. great experience, had a denny's on the corner as well as a 7 eleven which was a great alternative to hotel's 8.95 breakfast buffet. comfy room and nice beds, highly recommend.”

• low-flow toilet/shower. no hooks/towel bar in shower.

“We always like this hotel, but on our last visit, we arrived at 3am and couldn't get in. Clerk arrived after 20mins, no apology. Couldn't check in for another 20 because a program was running on the computer. For some reason, I took pity on her and didn't file complaint, but that sucked. We drove from NYC to ORF to visit sick relative, and were exhausted.”

• I did not like anything about this hotel
• The room was dirty. The hallway smelled bad.

“I would not recommend anyone to stay here. It is old, worn down. The room was smoky and stuffy, although it was non-smoking. The hallways smelled of high levels of chlorine. The bathrooms were not clean.”

“The staff was just there to be there the night we arrived. The morning we checked out the staff was very helpful to us. The breakfast they provide in the morning was 8 dollars. Not very many TV stations. Very beautiful hotel, very nice for what we paid.”
