“My husband and I were up for the Sight and Sound show. The hotel was very close to the theater. Our stay was very pleasant and appreciated the manager for giving us directions to the different restaurants. The entire stay was friendly and the hotel was clean outside and inside. We look forward to returning to the Hojo for the Christmas show at sight and sound.” Aug 10, 2009 by
SK from Somerset
“This hotel was the dirtiest hotel we've ever stayed in. We had to clean the bathroom floors before we even went into the bathroom. The toilet wouldn't work so we had to take the lid off the toilet and pull the plunger every single time we went to the restroom. When we called to tell them we were advised that's just how it is and told how we had to continue flushing the toilet that way! Every single time we called the hotel (from the cell phone) they would hang up on us. We had 39 hang ups on us during our stay there! Customer service? What customer service? We called for a Band-Aid, short answered you need to come get it yourself. We called to find out what time their waterpark closed and the girl that answered the phone got snippy with me. I was completely disgusted with this hotel and would never recommend it to anyone! The water park is not worth the $50, it cost to get in. The pool only goes to four feet. Honestly, I have stayed at a lot of hotels and by far, this was the worst. I talked to the manager and he really didn't care at all.” May 23, 2009 by
randy from pittsburgh
“We enjoyed our stay at the Howard Johnson Inn Caribbean Indoor Waterpark Resort. The hotel was located in the center of everything we wanted to do in Lancaster. We noticed that the adjacent New Wingate by Wyndham hotel was now open. This looked like a brand new hotel. We did visit their lobby and it was beautiful. The also seem to be doing waterpark packages with the Caribbean Indoor Waterpark. I plan to bring my wife during her birthday in two months. They have jacuzzi rooms with in room demand movies.” Feb 5, 2009 by
Jack from Pittsburgh
“We just returned from our stay at the Howard Johnson and the Caribbean Indoor Water park. We loved the water park because while it was snowing outside and freezing the temperature in the park was a comfortable 86 degrees. There is a New Wingate by Wyndham that is being built. Our next trip we will try out this new hotel. It is adjacent to the Caribbean Indoor Water park and behind the New Dunkin Donuts.” Jan 17, 2009 by
Renee from York
“Just got back today. The janitors were so friendly they should have been the desk workers at the water park. I guess that means the desk workers should be the janitors? Too bad the desk workers have to speak English. I guess it is the economy, so the hallways and the pool were freezing. The water park was 84 degrees and like heaven on the coldest day of the winter yet. Email and cable rocked.” Dec 6, 2008 by
Jack from New Jersey
“The hotel was very clean and the staff was friendly. The children enjoyed the Caribbean Indoor Water park which was attached to the Howard Johnson Inn. They had a Quiznos Sub, Domino's Pizza, Pho Cafe, and a New Dunkin Donuts. We heard from staff that a New Wingate by Wyndham is opening Spring 2009. I had stayed at a Wingate by Wyndham couple of months ago in New York. They are very nice hotels just like a Courtyard but less expensive. We will definitely be trying out this New Wingate by Wyndham when we return in the Spring 2009.” Nov 6, 2008 by
Victor from New York
“This was our 2nd time staying at the Howard Johnson Inn Caribbean Indoor Waterpark Hotel. Our stay was excellent. The service and the staff was outstanding. The indoor waterpark was nice and warm even though it was raining outside. The new Dunkin Donuts is a nice addition. Also we like the new computer game room that was added. I could now check my email and brows on the internet without having to drag my lap top with me on the trip. There was no charge to use their computers. The breakfast was very nice with a lot of selections. We really did have a nice time. Also noticed behind the Dunkin Donuts that a new Wingate by Wyndham hotel is being built. They are due to be open Spring 2009. I heard from their staff that they would be doing waterpark packages with the Caribbean Indoor Waterpark. We may try it just to see the new place on our next visit to Lancaster.” Oct 21, 2008 by
Jackie from Baltimore, MD
“We enjoyed our stay at the Howard Johnson Inn Caribbean Indoor Water park Hotel. The hotel was very clean and the staff was very friendly. The children had a nice time in their water park. The temperature was around 84 degrees inside the park. Very comfortable. We ordered food from Quizno's Sub and they delivered it into the park. We will be going back over Christmas vacation. The kids are already talking about it right now!” Oct 6, 2008 by
Vicent from New Castle, De
“We did a weekend get away with the children to the Howard Johnson Water park hotel. The rooms were very clean and nice. The water park was just beautiful. We have never been to the Caribbean's and wanted to take the kids to some place like. There was plenty to do in the Lancaster County. We will be back during Christmas break. We also enjoyed the continental breakfast they had each morning. Howard Johnson Inn we will see you in December.” Sep 4, 2008 by
Trees from New Kensington, PA
“Needed more shampoo, soap and lid for ice bucket.” Jul 18, 2008 by
Janel from Scranton, PA
“Good hotel. Great location. Swim park is too pricey for the hotel.” Jul 8, 2008 by
Mike from Eldersburg, MD
“Other than the cleanliness/condition of the room there were no other problems.” May 3, 2008 by
Sue from Bellefonte, PA
“While Howard Johnson's must have put money in this property putting the water park in, the chlorine smell was too much and I wondered if they put adequate ventilation in. In fact, even the water in the bathroom in my room smelled. The furniture in my room was much worn with holes in the sofa. The carpet in the halls and the room was dirty. There were splash marks of something on the headboard and the shower curtain and shower area were dirty. I would not stay here again.” Mar 25, 2008 by
Deborah from Bainbridge, NY
“The Howard Johnson in Lancaster, PA is a great getaway for families. There included breakfast has many choices and their new water park makes it a fun place for a weekend getaway.” Mar 19, 2008 by
Shanaique from New York, NY
“My family's stay at Howard Johnson was great. The kids really enjoyed the indoor water. And the staff was all smiles and ready to help in anyway they could. The mall and outlets was close and great choices of places to eat near by. I plan to go back soon.” Mar 12, 2008 by
Enid from Wilmignton, DE
“The hotel was great, my children had a wonderful time.” Mar 11, 2008 by
Phil from Fairfax, VA
“Nice, inexpensive hotel. Reasonably clean, but not sparkling. Good for male travelers, but I would not take my wife there.” Feb 25, 2008 by
Susan from Baltimore, Md
“We stayed at this hotel due to the indoor waterpark and the close location next to the outlet stores. The hotel was nice and clean, but the kids really loved the waterpark. We were surprised to find that there were new Dunkin Donuts that recently opened onsite. My husband and I love Dunkin Donuts coffee and were very pleased to see that as we pulled into the hotel. The hotel was only about a mile away from the outlet stores. Also next to the hotel was a shopping center with a Kmart, Burlington coat factory, off track betting, a staples office supply, and a bank and red lobster. Speaking of food the hotel had a Quiznos Sub, Dominos Pizza, and Pho Vietnamese restaurant on site. We definitely found a very nice hotel that the kids can enjoy and its close to everything. Also the staff was very friendly.” Feb 17, 2008 by
Kevin from Dover, DE
“We will go back again very soon.” Jan 21, 2008 by
Barry from Richmond, VA
“We just came back from a visit to the Howard Johnson Caribbean Indoor Waterpark Resort. This hotel was located right on the main street with all the shopping centers. The hotel had a Caribbean Indoor Waterpark inside. We purchased the passes to the park for only $10/person and were able to stay in the park the entire 12 hours. While the wife was off shopping her heart out, me and the kids stayed in the Indoor Waterpark and loved every minute of it. We even ordered our lunch from the 2nd floor. We had the options of Quiznos Sub, Dominos Pizza, or Pho Vietnamese Cafe. The kids ordered the pizza and I ordered the Sub. We definitely will be going back to this hotel in the spring. Very Friendly staff .” Jan 18, 2008 by
Samy from Germantown, MD
“We were very pleased with this Howard Johnson Inn. The Caribbean Indoor Waterpark that is attached to this hotel was great! The children and we adults had a great time. The hotel was in the middle of the Amish Country and close to the Outlet shopping. They had a Mall next door to them. Talking to their staff it looks like they are opening a New Dunkin Donuts on site. They already have a Quiznos Sub, Dominos Pizza, and Pho Vietnamese Cafe (By the way these guys deliver to the room, we liked that). We will be staying with them in the future and will also tell our friends that we found a nice hotel to do a weekend getaway.” Jan 15, 2008 by
Vinento from Princeton, NJ
“We stayed at this Howard Johnson after a long time. We really enjoyed their Caribbean Indoor Waterpark. We booked their Waterpark Package LP1 and received 4 passes to the waterpark. The children had a blast. This is a very nice weekend gateway hotel with this new Indoor Waterpark. We have stayed at Great Wolf, but their prices are also greatly high! The next time I am going to surprise the kids by taking them to Lancaster and staying at this hotel without them knowing that we are going to the Waterpark again. They will definitely be excited and enjoy! Also by the way they had some pretty good friendly staff.” Jan 9, 2008 by
Susan from Baltimore
“We stayed at the Howard Johnson Inn Caribbean Indoor Water park for the 1st time and were very pleased with the hotel. The rooms seem like they just renovated them. The Indoor Water park was just the right size for our children and looked new. The restaurants on premises are Quiznos Sub, Dominos Pizza, and Vietnamese Restaurant were new and liked that they delivered to our room or to the Water park. Talking to their staff we found out that the property is also building a New Dunkin Donuts that will be open in sometime February 2008. We will definitely be coming back in the Spring during the kids spring break.” Jul 31, 2007 by
Brenda from Denton, MD
“Would go back.” Jul 25, 2007 by

“It's good for a small family for a short stay the rooms can be better but is good as a 2.5 star.” Jun 24, 2007 by
Vincent from Baltimore, MD
“This was our 2nd vacation this year to Lancaster, pa. We loved this hobo due to the new Caribbean indoor watermark, new elevator they added, and also the new quinoas sub, dominos pizza, and phi Lancaster Vietnamese restaurant on site. This hotel is close to Easton mall shopping center and only minutes from sight & sound and rock vale outlet stores. We all had a great time and will definitely be back at Christmas time since their indoor watermark is nice a warm all year round! See you there!” Jun 9, 2007 by
Donald from Manorville, NY
“This hotel was very clean and beautiful. It was convenient to everything we wanted to see and do. They had a New Caribbean Indoor water park. They had a special on the passes to the park only $10/person to use the park all day! What a deal. We will definitely be back to this hotel on our next visit to Lancaster, Pa.” May 1, 2007 by
Nico from Bellingham, WA
“If motel 6 is cleaner I would recommend it over this Howard Johnson.” Apr 3, 2007 by
Lysa from Jim Thorpe, PA
“For some reason they decided to add indoor water park to an old ho job. Rooms need updating. Smell old and musty. No microwave. To use water park you must be registered guest for that night. We arrived late and were unable to buy tickets for the next day. (20.00 Per person all ages). Staff was extremely rude. For the price however, the hard beds and flat pillows were adequate.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Apr 1, 2007 by

“Hotel was well used.no desk space available no internet in my room. Breakfast was space.” Feb 23, 2007 by
Vinny from Wilmington, De
“This was our 2nd stay at this Howard Johnson inn. They now have a new Caribbean indoor water park on site. We got the passes at the hotel front desk. You can walk right into the water park from the hotel hallway. The kids loved it. They had 4 pools, with 2- 30 foot slides that take you outside the park and back into a plunge pool. This was really cool, especially while it was snowing out side. The temperature in the park was about 88 degrees. My type of weather. We definitely will be coming back to this hotel in our future visits to Lancaster, pa.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Feb 14, 2007 by

“I was disappointed that the water park was not included in my stay. We used the indoor pool but when you got out you had to run to your room. The hallways were freezing; something has to get done here. The rooms were fine. My wife and I could not believe they were going to charge us full price for the water park to watch our children. I would have paid for my children but not for us, so we ended up not going.” 2 of 2 people found this review helpful.Feb 13, 2007 by

“We stayed at this hotel and loved the new Caribbean indoor watermark. We booked an lp1 watermark package. This hotel is renovated and looks really good. Our room was spacious and we were able to get domino pizza and quinoas sub (which are on the property) to deliver to our room. We were also able to get the food deliver into the watermark. The kids loved it and we will be back in the spring. ” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Jan 13, 2007 by

“The hotel room was very hard o control the heat. We had to go out and by a blanket because my wife refused to sleep under the one on the bed. The bed linen was not changed, this was very evident when the covers were pulled back. When brought to the managers attention he was very responsive and we got clean linen. They offered a hot breakfast in the morn from 6am to 9 am. So forget about sleeping in. We did not do breakfast there.” 3 of 3 people found this review helpful.Nov 19, 2006 by

“A good low star hotel. Restrictive hours for check-in and continental breakfast. Continental breakfast on low side of competition. Please with complimentary newspaper” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.Nov 2, 2006 by

“Economical but not well-suited for a business traveler.” Nov 2, 2006 by
Bill from Acton, MA
“Convenient location, decent sized room, definitely better than the Econolodge across the street. Hotel is putting finishing touches on a new indoor water park- that will be a real attraction for families once it opens.” Oct 27, 2006 by
Jeff F. from Hagerstown, MD
“It was close to all the outlets , dinning and other attractions . The staff was friendly and the room was clean . It could use some updating on the decor and the price was too much per night for what you get . But it served the purpose and I'd stay there again .” Oct 25, 2006 by
Dawn from Mount Sidney, VA
“The location was nice. I had to wait for my key because of a lock problem, but the staff was nice about it. The hotel was dirty. Pool was dirty, room was not properly cleaned (some dirty towels not taken away the first day, bed linens pulled up hastily; sheets not changed nor was bed made properly. I liked the security level.” Oct 24, 2006 by
Tamsen from Altoona, PA
“It seemed old and outdated. Room seemed okay, but public areas were not cleaned. Windows were dirty, someone wrote "clean me" in the dirt on one of the windows. I know they have construction going on nearby, but the dirt was on the inside.” Oct 19, 2006 by
Nancy “Poorly maintained, old uncomfortable mattress. For the 5 days we were there the only care given was to the bed being made. It appears in need of renovations, only 1 elevator, not centrally located, definitely not senior citizen friendly.” Sep 24, 2006 by
Anna from Vineland, NJ
“We were very pleasantly surprised with our stay at this hotel. We normally stay at 3 to 5 start hotels/ resorts but there are none in the immediate area. Frankly, I do not understand why this is only rated as a 2 star hotel. I think it warrants at least a three.” Sep 21, 2006 by
Sheila from Pittsburgh, PA
“Worked well for Strasbourg's Railroad visit with family. Expanding pool in Fall06. May stay again. If it was there, I missed it. Ended up on 2nd floor which was problematic, but we were able to overcome obstacle by walking around.” Sep 20, 2006 by
Cynthia K. from East Liverpool, OH
“All in all it was a very pleasant visit and the price was good too. We are hoping to be able to stay there next year around the same time if the price is still good. ” Aug 30, 2006 by
Dan from Bowie, MD
“If all you want is a clean hotel with a nice staff and one that is convenient to the attractions, this would be the hotel for you. If you want a comfortable bed, stay home. The bed was so hard that it when I slept on my side, my shoulder went to sleep, but not the rest of me. In other words, sleep on your back. If the pull out couch was bigger, my wife and would have slept on it, but, we had our daughter with us, so that was out.” Aug 6, 2006 by
Eileen from Mullica Hill, NJ
“I would not recommend this hotel. It was dirty, smelled and needed updating. The room was not as described.” Aug 6, 2006 by
Brian from Wayne, NJ
“The hotel is in a great location for the outlets and all the local attractions. The hotel is in need of renovations - wallpaper peeling, shower tile in bad shape, furniture somewhat worn. The hotel is undergoing an indoor water park construction in the center of the hotel. A little annoying if you are a late sleeper. Also, the deluxe continental breakfast is a total waste - corn flakes, sugar frosted flakes, and some bagels. The line was ridiculous for this because the breakfast time is so limited - I think 8-9 so you basically get the entire hotel in this one small room. My total bill was $88 for 1 night. I would have been happy around $60 for what I got.” Mar 1, 2006 by
Paul from Rocky Point, NY
“A very pleasant place to stay. It has a large pool an exercise room a large game room and a restaurant. I would definitely stay there again. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating.” 1 of 1 people found this review helpful.
