  • Front desk staff was helpful and pleasant. Comfortable.

“Bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. Front desk had enough quarters to make change for me for the laundry. It was wonderful experience.”

  • Hotel room appearance.
  • Smells terrible in hallways. Unknowledgeable kids working counter. Missing many supplies stated they offer. Hotel runs down.

“Very unhelpful young kids at the counter and their friends coming back and fourth from behind the counter. When needing to ask question or help for something the girl and guy at the desk said I don't know and turned away to finish their conversations with their friends. Smelled very strong in halls ways cigarettes, and sour laundry in hallways.”

  • Remodeling, but still could have been kept cleaner.

“The place looked nasty. They are remodeling, but should have a better plan than to have messes in front of guests. Also, no cable, because apparently the cable lines were burnt into. The quality of this hotel is no more than a 1 star.”

  • The coffee makers in both rooms did not work.

“This is the worst hotel experience I have ever had. The hotel was getting a facelift, but they still rented rooms off hallways with bare drywall walls, drywall compound ground into the carpet.”

  • Being remodeled. Cable TV not working related to power outage.

“Though the front desk and dining room staff was wonderful, the amenities at this hotel were ok. Remodeling-related power outage had kayoed the Cable TV service. The downstairs, hallways, and elevators were a construction-related mess. The restaurant was closed because of construction or the power outage.”

“Promised fridge that didn't materialize. Telephones wouldn't work for credit card calls. Was told to use the pay phone in the lobby. They ran out of coffee. Then the top for the Styrofoam cups didn't fit after they finally put out a pot from the restaurant.”

  • Bad service, not clean, still being renovated so it looked a bit tattered.

“We were pretty disappointed with the accommodations as there were a series of events leading up to the negative review. The hotel was a mess as it was under renovations. The hotel room didn't have enough towel (for 3 ppl), there was no toilet paper and tissue paper. They brought it to us fine but than called us after 9:30 pm ( we were already in bed and our son was trying to sleep) and asked if we needed towels. There was a lack of communication amongst their staff as it was brought to us 4 hours prior.”

  • Dirty! 1 washcloth; 1 hand towel; no functional swimming pool; no newspaper; regular elevator not functional; no shampoo.

“We were terribly disappointed with this hotel. This hotel is in the middle of being refurbished and basic services were extremely compromised. Most notably, it was very dirty! I didn't want to walk on the carpet! Besides, there was only one washcloth, one hand towel; no shampoo; no newspaper, and no functional swimming pool. The regular elevator was not functional and we had to walk down a long corridor, striped of carpet, to what was apparently the utility elevator. The manager was sorry but did not offer any adjustment.”

  • Once we were in our room it was comfortable.
  • Room was not ready at 9:00 PM.

“Two floors of the hotel are under-construction. The noise was not a problem. However, when we checked in at 7:00 PM the room was not ready. They said they had 6 house keepers quit that day and they were short handed. A few minutes after 9:00 PM our room was ready for the evening. House keeping had trouble cleaning our rooms daily as they should. We had to exchange towels at the front desk. Considering the state the hotel was in dirty halls, lack of housekeeping, late check in.”

“45 minutes to check in. This hotel was undergoing a renovation. We asked two rooms. One was good and one was not. The good room was missing a clock and hangers and when they cleaned the room they took all of the towels and did not replace them! The bad room was not renovated and had a non working TV. When we asked to be moved to a renovated room, we were told that the king room that we were in, was the last one. We had to fight with the front desk, it was awful but we finally got a new room. When we finally got a renovated room, the toilet seat was broken and the door didn't lock.”

“Good hotel for the money. I was disappointed that it was under construction and the outdoor pool was not usable. The indoor pool was use able. This hotel is under construction. The hotel served eggbeaters instead of real eggs.”

“Hotel was under construction and they moved us to a room with bugs. We talked to the manager and he was kind enough to let us leave. My mom has allergies and was not able to stay in her room due to a recent bug spray.”

“Internet wasn't working, pool was locked and we had to have security unlock the door, the room smelled from smoke even though it was non smoking, the refrigerator was not near an outlet and couldn't be used nor the microwave on top of it, the room was crowded with furniture.”

  • With a child I was concerned with the construction debris and the paint smell. I was concerned if they had asbestos or something harmful there.

“I was not expecting a hotel which was going under renovations. I was happy that it was holiday inn. The hotel was using there main elevator for the renovations. Boxes and other things were loading in the same elevator. There was a wait for getting on the elevator because of that.”

“The room was great. Unfortunately the rest of the hotel was undergoing renovations. Only one elevator worked and it was also being used for the renovations, hence it was a mess and smelled of cigarettes. Many of the hallways had very dirty carpeting. The in-room coffee maker didn't come with any cups to hold hot drinks. Just plastic cups. I think the maid didn't know any better and the front desk didn't have cups either. The pool was fine, but the lock wasn't working right, which meant you had to get the staff to let you in. The power went out in the area in the morning, meaning the door lock, TV, etc. didn't work. Some lights were on a generator. The staff at the front desk seemed more bemused than concerned about guests. Convenient location off a major roadway. Lots of parking.”

“I would not stay in this hotel again. It did look like it was undergoing renovations which were desperately needed. Staff was unhelpful. I needed to do a load of laundry in the hotel and the information in the room said you could get the detergent etc. at the front desk. They did not have detergent, and didn't even know this was written in the book. They didn't have change, just said, sorry we don't have any. The hotel laundry was a dirty, old washing machine in a scary room. Would not stay here again. Missing the basics in the room that should be in every hotel, even an economy, like shampoo, soap.”

  • It was very dirty!

“This was the worst hotel I've ever stepped foot in. The hotel was dirty with strange people lingering in the parking lot. As a female traveling with a female co-worker I didn't feel safe in the hotel. The room was disgusting. The floor was sticky and dirty. The mattresses were stained. The sheets and comforters had stains on them. I had two male interns on the trip as well and their room was similarly dirty. The chair in their room was tattered. I would never suggest this hotel to anyone and a.m. slightly disappointed for recommending it. I hope this evaluation of the hotel will encourage you all to remove it from your site.”

  • Fitness room, very little equipment. No regular coffee. Originally put in smoking room when requested non-smoking.

“We could tell this was an older hotel. Doors/locks tended to stick, fitness room only had an elliptical and exercise bike. Small bathroom, cot was more comfortable than beds. Would not choose to stay here again.”

  • Room service brought us cold food.

“This is not the first time this have happened. We made reservations as Priority Club Members, staff at front desk claimed our room was not ready. We waited since check-in time for about 2 hours with our child in the lobby. We are non-smokers, and was given a room that smelled of cigarette smoke. We then asked to speak to a manager about the situation, and was told we would have to wait for an extra hour. No kind of coordination at all. After finally checking into a non-smoking room, door was unlocked by keycard from another guest. Some kind of staff mixed up confusion. A real bad experience, staff was unprofessional. Would not recommend to others.”

“Although the stay was a little rough around the edges with staff not looking at the confirmation copies I printed and not telling me even after they read them that I had to reregister for the second night and having called ahead with a request for a King bed room (which they ignored). We enjoyed our weekend away even with the kinks in the front desk service.”

  • Great location. Near outlet shops and also in the heart of Amish country. Good local restaurants. We had a very comfortable bed.
  • Put us in a smoking room and we had to ask to be moved.

  • More channels on the TV.

“Met my needs for a short 2 day business/shopping trip. Easy driving in and out with well lighted parking. Convenient store and gas station across the road. Tourist center adjacent wasnt open this time of the year. Quiet for sleeping. No heavy traffic noises. Linens, towels appeared fresh and clean.”

  • Very convenient to the places we wanted to go to, and clean.
  • The bathroom was way too small.

“Overall, the hotel was great. It was convenient, clean, and the staff was friendly! We had room 2 doors away from the elevator, and on the 4th floor. So that got a little noisy. I found for the size of the room the bathroom was very tiny. You had to go in, close the door then sit, not good. Also no refrigerator. Which for Lancaster should be a necessity for all the good food they have there?”

“This hotel is little run down. However, the best attribute are the huge rooms. This enabled us to put a traveling air bed on the floor for my young daughter to sleep in as well as a good location for 5 pieces of luggage. We still had floor space left over. I also liked the fact that coin operated laundry facilities are available.”

  • The walls had areas where the wallpaper was covering holes in the walls.

“The hotel was OK, but nothing out of the ordinary. The room had areas where it seemed that repairs were started or done and covered up. The staff was friendly, but not helpful. We had to make 3 trips to the front desk to get a remote that worked.”

  • It was convent to all attraction & for me it was convent to my relatives.
  • The meals at the restaurant could improve. Since area is known for there food it does not come up to par.

“The hotel is along Rt. 30 which is convent to all attraction and you can take the old Philadelphia Twp. and afford traffic on 30. It is quit at night so you get a good night sleep.”

“Internet access was horrible. I traveled to other locations to try to access the internet -- wasted a lot of time doing what I expected to do at the hotel! Not a good stay! Also, at various times, my entire room shook like it was in an earthquake -- not a pleasant experience.”

  • Bed/TV.
  • Shower was old stained fiberglass; knob difficult to adjust Exercise room with 2 machines.

“This was an okay place. It worked. No extras though and the shower badly needed a redo. The exercise room was unbelievably small however both machines were in working condition. They offered a connection to a fitness center 10 minutes away kind of nice but too inconvenient for business travelers like us.”
