• Friendly and helpful staff.
• Pool and spa area in front of lobby, no tinted windows.

“For my 4 night stay, I would say this hotel was very comfortable and relaxing. The staff was very helpful. All-in-all
I had a pleasant stay. I did however not appreciate the pool and spa area in the main entrance without at least tinted windows. The pool and spa however were relaxing and the area was heated.”

• The staff was very friendly and courteous.
• I couldn't believe the rooms had no safety latch on the inside!

“As a single woman business traveler I was very disappointed to see that the rooms had no safety latch on the inside of the door. I thought for sure something as simple as that was a law by now. I spent the night with my table and chair moved against the door since the rooms are outside and separate from the lobby and public facilities. I was also thrown by the pool in the lobby. When you walk into the main door of the hotel you walk into the pool!?!? Then go out an alternate door get to the lobby. That needs to be renovated. The last thing I wanted to smell in the winter was a musty chlorine infected pool. The hotel staff was very friendly and courteous. I was pleasantly surprised by their demeanors. I was greeted each and overtime I saw them with a smile. That was the best part of that hotel. If you can get over the safely latch and bad decor and need a good place to stay for Nat or the Naval base, it¿s very convenient. It¿s not a good part of town in the first place, but the staff made up for that.”

• I left my cell phone and they would not send it are try to workout something with me knowing I was from out of town.

• Check in person was very helpful and friendly.
• Rug in room.

“This hotel was not that clean. Totally turned off by the manager who I asked to help me print my boarding pass. She was so irritated to be asked to do this that she didn't make eye contact and expressed her annoyance completely. She was very unprofessional. None of the hotel employees had access to the internet or knew how to use it. The other employees were very nice. The restaurant I was sent to was horrible. The seafood I ordered was bad.”

• It had everything in the room (dryer, iron, iron board, refrigerator ,microwave).
• Nothing really.

• HOT TUB!!!
• Wireless internet was very weak and slow.

“Overall, I had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. The staff were professional and accommodating. The room was comfortable though not the cleanest. Weak internet connectivity was the only drawback.”

• Indoor pool, great price, clean room!
• Parking was a bit tight.

“Hotel was great. I did name your own price and got a real deal (about 70% off). Room was clean, A/C worked well. Only thing that was a little tight was the parking, but not too bad. Definitely worth the price for the stay and I would stay again in a heartbeat!”

• We enjoyed the continental breakfast.
• It felt small and tight to our family. We thought we would be in a hotel and it had a motel feel.

• The indoor pool was good because it was hot outside.
• The first room we stayed was nasty and smelled like mildew.

• They really exceeded my expectations.
• The location was really hard to find.

“I had a better time at this "2" star hotel than I did at "3" star hotel in St Louis. When I first found out I was staying at a Comfort Inn, I was upset and thought I had wasted my money, but it turned out that they were far better than I ever expected.”

• Friendliness of staff - convenient location to purpose of visit.
• The room was filthy. Bathtub had pubic hair, rusted door, musty smell.

“The front staff of this hotel is friendly, courteous, and very helpful. The lobby area is nice and presentable. The room #134 that I stayed in had pubic hair in the bathtub, and the bathroom door is rusted. The room smelled musty. After finding the condition of the tub - I wondered what kind of funk I had been sleeping in all night. I left a penny and a purple bead on the floor of the hotel. I wonder if any one found it during "cleaning"?”

• The free continental breakfast was bigger than most, and the lobby is very well maintained.
• The pool is kept at a ridiculously high temp, feeling more like a warm bath than a pool. also, the water was not maintained and chlorinated properly.

“this is a great location if you have business on the Norfolk naval base-it's actually located within their complex. it's not even bad if you're more interested in going to Virginia beach, as long as you don't mind a 20 minute drive both ways. the staff was friendly and helpful when we had to report a problem with our room--the AC had been leaking and the room smelled like mildew, with half of the carpet sopping wet. also, there were several flies in the room and the refrigerator was broken. once I notified the front desk of our problem (why I waited two days to ask for help I have no idea) we were promptly given a new room, sans bugs and wet carpet and featuring a working fridge.”

• The room smelled of smoke and made me sick. The breakfast hostess was rude and lacked personality.

• Location was advantageous to Va. Beach. Staff were professional, friendly, courteous, and helpful. Room was large and well equip.

“Sign out front said Newly Renovated. Well the only thing newly renovated was the Lobby. Rooms were dirty and smelly with holes in the furniture and the carpet was disgusting. ”

• Poor location to visit virginia beach area, takes too long to get to beach area, too much traffic from navel base

“Everyone seemed pleasant, rooms were small, breakfast was adequate, poor parking, would not recommend this hotel if you are going to be visiting the beach area or the attraction near the beach. would not stay there again, next time we will pay the extra money to stay on the beach, and get exactly what we want.”

• The pool was great and the location was okay IF you wanted to be near the Naval Base.
• It was included with the beach front and we hoped on being closer to the beach.

“This hotel exceeded my expectations because of other reviews I had read. Apparently, in the past the hotel had received awful reviews- some guests were afraid to walk barefoot on the floor! I was incredibly disappointed it was considered it a two star until I got there. It was satisfactorily clean with a great microwave and mini-fridge in every room. The breakfast in the morning wasn't bad and the sheets were clean- with some cigarette burns- strange for a non-smoking room. The pool was amazing- in-door and heated with a sky light! The staff was friendly but not at all knowledgable. They couldn't give directions to something down the street without help from the computer. Also they didn't know anything about the area- it was like they didn't really live there.”

• Decent breakfast
• No soap/shampoo, not enough towels, no response to requests for above.

“This hotel was difficult to find, but front desk staff was friendly upon check-in. The room was less than clean and was not stocked with the basics -- soap, shampoo, adequate towels or toilet paper. When these items were requested, staff assured us they would be delivered but never came.The Continental breakfast was good -- there was a nice selection of both hot and cold foods.”

• I would have liked to have two full/queen beds in smoking room but they did bring us a cot

• extremely dirty carpeting. left our room smelling of urine.

“The location of this hotel wasn't the greatest. It is not in the greatest of neigborhoods. Also, it would seem as if there were "permanent residents" there. Room service did not maintain the room on a daily basis either. The carpeting in the room was very dirty. I was afraid to walk barefoot in the room. The books in the room related to the area for travelers were drawn in by high school students, which makes me wonder what had gone on in the room I was staying in the pool also had a "salty" taste to it, which makes me wonder how clean the pool was. Granted i am not in the practice of drinking pool water, but I know it shouldn't taste like salt. ”

• Friendly, responsive staff
• several loud parties on Sat. night and security guard ignored them focusing instead on my son's driving over 5 mph

“Nice spacious, open lobby where friendly staff member kept breakfast foods stocked. Every staff member including maids, went the extra step to ensure guest comfort. For example, I asked for an extra pillow. Two people showed up with one.
Facilities: The heated pool and spa were pleasant surprise, but you had to walk OUTSIDE to get from your room to the pool. That was especially uncomfortable on the return trip because it was COLD outside.
All the rooms opened to the parking lot. Personally, I prefer interior rooms. However, I will stay at the hotel again.
The security guard at night was an added benefit, but he seemed more concerned with people exceeding the 5 mph speed limit rather than the loud party on the second level on Saturday night.”
