• Good location, clean rooms.

“Overall, it was good for a one night stay. The rooms were clean and we felt completely safe. We had trouble getting the in-room movies to work for awhile, but the staff was very friendly and helpful in getting it fixed.”

• The hotel's location is convenient to major interstates.
• The free breakfast was horrible.

“The location of this hotel is very convenient. However, beware the free breakfast. Mostly all simple carbs - white sugar and white flour, the classic American diet and why many are so overweight. There were hardboiled eggs but they tasted spoiled, so I couldn't eat them. I am generally not that picky, but I don't eat spoiled food. Other than the awful breakfast (can we expect more when it's free?), the hotel was great. At first, we were put into a smoking room, but when we called immediately upon entering the room, we were instantly transferred to another room. Staff seemed friendly and willing to help.”

“The hotel staff was very friendly and cooperative. We made two requests and they were taken care of promptly. Breakfast selection was great. The hotel was very close to a lot of restaurants and grocery stores.”

• I felt the hotel was in the ideal location for accessing other nearby destinations.
• NA.

“I believe that this hotel is suitable for anyone that is on a budget. However I don't feel that it is adequate for someone looking for a nice hotel that is willing to pay a little extra for a nice appearance. My children enjoyed the pool and I enjoyed the close proximity the hotel was to all the amenities that the state had to offer for your entertainment.”

• The price was okay.
• No toiletries.

“The staff was friendly. There was no trash receptacle, asked for one but never got it. There were no complimentary toiletries, asked & received it. Room was clean, for the price did not expect too much. when on a budget, this was okay for a one night stay, wouldn't stay more than that.”

• There is nothing that I liked. It is a crime ridden flea bag.
• Bed bugs, drunks, terrible service, high crime area. Ask the police.

“Do not stay here! This is the absolute worst hotel imaginable. The room reeked, there were drug addicts passed out in the stairway. Bed bugs, no alarm clock and the front desk would not provide one. They would however take a wake up call and not call in the morning. The carpet, tub, sink, night stand, bed spread, and dresser were filthy. I am the president and CEO of a company. I respect the safety, well being, and comfort of my employees too much to subject them to the, at best misleading and at worst potentially life threatening services.”

• That a good hotel is just next door.
• Dirty, and no evidence they want to change.

“The exterior is dirty, the sheets are too small for the mattress, the coffee is gone or cold, very noisy, your very mistaken 2.5 star got me there, after staying at most of the neighboring hotels, this one is last place.”

• Location extremely convenient.

“Located just down the road from the Hampton coliseum and convention center, it provides convenience in location. Its staff and facilities are more than satisfying. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to stay in Hampton for a few days.”

• It was convenient to shopping and dining.
• The bathroom was dirty, obvious sounds of rodents in the walls, HVAC located too close to the bed, the air was blown directly onto my child, etc.

“This hotel was not what I expected. I thought the quality of La Quinta hotels were greater. There were permanent dirt rings in the bathtub. The walls were so thin, I clearly heard the visitor in the room urinating and flushing afterwards. I was unable to sleep the entire night because of scratching in the walls. I was unable to maintain a comfortable temperature in the room because the HVAC unit was located too closely to one of the beds. The air blew directly on my child. The HVAC unit was too loud for the small room. This was my first and last visit to a La Quinta hotel.”

• The location was excellent, also good parking, and close to some good restaurants.
• It is a hotel that seems to attract out of town young construction workers, and some teenagers who don't wish to stay in their rooms. It has security.

• The location and continental breakfast.
• The bed was not clean, mattress cover definitely dirty.

“The hotel would have been really nice except for the bed, it was too soft, dirty mattress cover and the sheets did not look fresh. The mattress cover did not fit either, I had to pin it to keep it on all night. Not a good nights sleep, my husband slept in the recliner.”

• The staff was very nice and extremely helpful. You couldn't ask for nicer people.
• I didn't have any dislikes about the hotel.

“The room was clean and well lit. It had a nice table for me to use which was very helpful. The bed was comfortable. The staff was exceptionally nice and helped me with directions. The hotel was very quiet even though it was on a major road. If you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel that is clean and quiet, then this hotel is an excellent choice.”

• They promised High Speed internet and it was hard down for my stay!

“It was difficult to find an ice machine that worked, the carpet looked dirty, and no one at the desk or through two long phone calls could help get me connected to the internet. Finally they said it had been down for 4 days. The did say my Friday stay was at no charge.”

• The bathtub was not clean. They need to give it a good scrub.

“I enjoyed my stay. We've stayed at this La Quinta before so I was happy to return and will stay again. It is convenient for what we want to do and is decently priced for its type. I would recommend it happily.”

• The bathtub had mold and water stains and needed possibly a whole new tub.

“My husband became ill on the day we where to be traveling and I called to advise them we wouldn't be checking in that day. When we got down the next evening they had released our room, it took awhile to get checked into another room because of some kind of glitch.”

• Very convenient to local shops. comfortable room.
• No workout facilities. Would have appreciated even a small room with a treadmill!

“Overall a good value for price I paid. Front desk staff called my room 30 minutes after check in to make sure everything was okay. This was a first!! Appreciated that effort. Room was clean, except bathroom floor. Provided shampoo/conditioner/soap, but no lotion. Coffee, but no tea. Rooms advertised as coming with free Internet access. However, only has wireless access, which I don't have! Hotel has no business room, so this does not make it totally convenient for business.”

• The bathtub was filthy, we could not use it!

“The staff of the hotel was pleasant. We checking into our room early without any problems, but left to attend the function we were in town for immediately. Upon inspection of the bathroom when we returned (close to 11:30 pm) we found the bathtub FILTHY! We were unable to use it and at that late time needed to get our kids in the bed so we washed using the sink.”

• Staff very accommodating when having to change rooms.
• Hardly any cable channels, no vcr.

“The hotel for a 2 star I found to be clean, quiet, comfortable. It would of been great if there had been a business station available for business or leisure travelers. Since I stayed for a week, it would of been nice to be able to deal with e-mail, watch a tape if there was a vicar or DVD player available. Possibly the hotel could of had some movies to lend out to their guests.”

• Small rooms, not many tv channels

“Overall this was a very nice, quiet hotel. Met most of my expectations, i really enjoyed the fact that the internet was wireless. The only drawback I have is the lack of cable tv channels. Overall around an 8.”

“We stayed at the LaQuinta Hotel in Hampton, Virginia. The staff at the front desk was very friendly and pleasant. Our room was extremely clean. It was extremely hot outside when we arrived, however, our air conditioner was on and the room was very comfortable. The grounds were beautiful and very well kept. The hotel was easy to find and I would definitely rate this hotel more than 2 stars. It was one of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed at. I would highly recommend it.”

“Everyone I coame in contact with at the hotel were really friendly and seemed like they sincerely cared about my satisfaction. I travel extensively, and I cannot remember a hotel that I stayed at where EVERYONE cared so much about the guests.”

• The followup by the staff after checking in.
• The breakfast was below average, Holiday Inn Express does a much better job.

“Locaton was where I wanted but due to construction on the roads it was inconvenient to turn into the motel. Clean rooms but the exterior grounds needed pickup of loose trash. Staff was courtesy and polite.”

• The location is great. I was very surprised at the cleanliness of the establishment.
• I was able to get a King size bed. Other establishment honor request for Kings.

“The staff was polite. The lobby was very neat and clean. The only complaint is that the toilet seat had not been cleaned. Otherwise, I rate my style as good.”

• We had some down time while there, and the room was a comfortable place to relax.
• I have no complaints about this hotel.

“La Quinta hotels are generally known for having clean, comfortable rooms and attentive staff. This hotel was no exception. It served our purpose in working with the chaplains at Langley AFB a short drive away. We even found a great seafood buffet just down the road for an okay price.”
