• Very good value.
• The location is a bit out of the way.

“This Best Western was very clean and the staff is extremely friendly. The rooms are spacious and nicely decorated. The only negative is the hotel is located a little out of the way but it is worth finding it.”

• Good breakfast.
• Front desk told us to wait in the room and they would call when shuttle bus was ready. But no one called when the bus left and we wasted an hour.

“The hotel claimed to have free bus service. We ride the bus three times - once being picked up at the airport, twice to go somewhere within 10 minutes of drive. Evey time the front desk told us the bus will be ready in 5 minutes but it was in fact 20 to 30 minutes. At the last time, the front desk told us to wait in the room and they would call when the shuttle bus was ready. No one called when the bus left. We waited and waited in the room, wasting at least an hour. Until finally we went back to the front desk to ask, and then the manager said "I don't know who told you to wait in the room. You are suppose to wait outside of the hotel gate."”

• Clean and comfortable room with gas fireplace, friendly staff, nice breakfast included, great stay!
• Nothing negative to report.

“The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, the hotel was clean, our room was comfortable and more than I expected with small fridge, microwave, coffe pot, mirrored closet doors, iron and board, hair dryer, gas fireplace, well decorated room. Very complete breakfast in lobby next morning with just about every item you might want. My 10 year son made waffles & couldn't wait to tell his dad what he missed out on when we got home.”

• Very nice room, fireplace.
• Had odor of gas.

“Hotel was nice, staff was very good. The sections are disjointed and it did make it a little difficult to access the main lobby for breakfast. This might be on purpose due to the paddock style of the hotel and area. If you are going to Cornell's vet medicine, this is where you want to stay, very close.”

• I loved how close it was to Cornell u. Also liked the complimentary shuttle service!
• The appearance of the rooms was old and outdated.

“The hotel is in a great location if you are going to Ithaca to visit Cornell. It was very easy to find. The room I stayed in was very large and spacious but everything in the room (wallpaper, furniture, light fixtures) looked very old and outdated. It was the first thing I noticed when I walked through the door. I did like that the rooms included a refrigerator and microwave. I also thought the beds were very comfortable and the bathrooms were decent. All in all, I had a pleasant experience!”

• Large, tastefully decorated bedroom, terrific bathroom.
• Styrofoam cups, the only negative!

“We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the room and service for such a reasonable price. My 17 year old son flew from CA to JFK earlier the day we checked in, and had a good night's rest for our tour of Cornell, where my older son is a student, the next day, I plan on staying at the best western university inn on subsequent trips, too, and have recommended it to others as well.”

“We were absolutely thrilled by how nice the motel is. Our daughter attends Cornell and we had not found this motel on our own. It was so convenient to where she lives (near college town) and we wish we'd found it sooner. Apparently we stayed in the new part of the motel which was so nice!”

• Lights over bed did not work, poor heating.

“This hotel is not 2 star quality. The room was cold upon entry, and heat turned up high barely took the chill off. This is upstate NY in November, imagine Jan? There was no switch to turn on lights other than the entry way. The lights over the bed did not work at all. The bed was uncomfortable. The plus side was if I had been staying for more than the night there was a microwave and fridge in room.”

• The bed was very comfortable. The room was very clean.
• It would have been nice to have a small table & chairs in the room. However there was a desk.

“The towels were dirty. On one of the towels a dead bug was stuck. I even clicked the picture of the same but next day I was in hurry to reach the School thus could not argue with them.”

• Clean, comfortable, affordable and in a great location.
• The very small dining area.

“Overall is very clean, towels look almost new, the room was spacious, beds were comfortable, and there was even a refrigerator and a microwave. The continental breakfast was nice, and the proximity to the University is the best part, so we would recommend it.”

• This hotel was in a convenient location if you want to be near Cornell & Ithaca.
• Our room was next to the ice machine, so it could potentially get a little loud if it was used frequently.

“Best Western University Inn- Ithaca is a great location if you need access to Cornell University, Ithaca College, and Buttermilk Falls. It was pretty clean and reasonable for the price. The staff was accommodating and helpful with directions. The continental breakfast had a pretty good amount of options and was decent food. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others. My friends and I all were satisfied with our stay.”

• They offer a van shuttle service around Ithaca.
• Sheets had not been changed before our arrival but spreads were on.

“It was upsetting to find unclean sheets when pulling down the bedspreads at 11 p.m. Staff was surface-helpful about it but didn't seem upset. Not our first poor experience with best western and we'll reconsider selecting this chain again.”

• Nice front desk people, quick check-in and out.
• Old, dirty hotel.

“Yuk, yuk, yuk! The carpet was so old and dirty that my daughter's new white socks were brown on the bottom just from walking on the carpet for 1/2 hour while getting ready in the morning. (Ok, think about how dirty carpet has to be to turn socks brown. Gross) the fixtures and furniture were about 30 years old, there were only 2 bath towels and both had holes in them. This hotel needs some serious renovation and remodeling! I would never stay here again.”

• Front desk staff seemed a bit harried.

“This hotel is very conveniently located for visiting Cornell University. The rooms are spacious and have very nice bathrooms. The breakfast area is just adequate, as is the breakfast itself. The fact that the hotel provides van service to the Cornell campus is a major plus!”

• Located in between a strip mall and a suburban apartment building - nondescript surroundings.

“BW staff was helpful and friendly. Check-in was swift and painless. The room was ready and warm when I arrived. I was pleased that I was given a larger room and bed even though I had paid a discounted price. The only thing that mattered for the stay was an ant problem in the bathroom.”

• Fantastic. It exceeded our expectations.
• Technically, it is on Cornell University's campus but it is a little misleading since the main campus is far away.

“It was everything it advertised and more. We stayed there 6 nights and felt comfortable. The driver for their shuttle even took the time to drive one of my sons about 10 miles to a relatives home.”
