• It has everything but it is dingy and has a funny smell.
• It reeks economy class.

“This is an acceptable (clean) motel but it is in great need of new carpet and bedspreads. It has a fraternity/dorm feel. There is a funny smell (I think deodorizer combined with cleaning material). The staff, however, is very accommodating and the location (although not scenic) is very convenient to both IC, Cornell, walking distance to downtown.”

• I liked that the receptionist was friendly and empathetic and helpful. I loved the room and having a microwave. I loved the hot water for my bath.

  did not like not having an elevator.

• Very Clean, very quiet, continental breakfast a plus.
• Nothing to say.

“Accommodations were adequate for my purposes - a decent bed, quiet, clean room and shower. Room was not frilly, but very acceptable. Staff was helpful and kind. Continental breakfast was delightful with large variety of breakfast treats and wholesome choices. WI-FI access was helpful. Would definitely try Super 8 in other towns/cities I visit.”

• The front desk staff was very helpful with directions and other needs.
• The breakfast offerings were limited. I would have liked fresh fruit.

“We found the front desk staff (the manager) very knowledgeable about the area and she helped us with directions and routed us around a detour. The Internet was easy to access in our room. Overall, we had a good night's rest and a pleasant experience.”

• Friendly front desk & assistant manager.
• Spiders (dead & alive) everywhere in our first room.

“We've stayed here before & found it was a convenient location & good hotel for the price. This time our first room was disgusting - lots of spiders because the window screen was bent & allowed them to get in. Some were smashed against the wall, one on the bed, several webs on the ceiling. Looked like the room hadn't been occupied or cleaned in weeks. They couldn't move us to another room until the next day. The new room was fine, except the heating didn't work and it was a bit too cold. The free breakfast with cereal, bagels, pastries, fruit, coffee & juices was very good. Staff was nice.”

• The hotel was centrally located, clean, and quiet.
• There was no pool and the exercise room was very cramped.

“This hotel is convenient, clean, and quiet. The lack of a pool and a small exercise room makes it less attractive to families. The staff was helpful and pleasant. This hotel was adequate for a quick weekend away for a couple without children.”

• Least expensive in area; Close to college.
• Surrounding area so-so; No elevator.

“Nothing fancy -- very utilitarian -- but it fit the bill. Pleasant staff at the front desk; sufficient continental breakfast; clean rooms/linens/shower; our non-smoking room was actually a non-smoking room.”

• We were reserved a smoking room.

“The hotel is located near several shopping areas. The staff was friendly and very helpful. My only issue was that we were reserved a smoking room vs. non-smoking. But the staff helped resolve this issue and all was well. Overall, I would stay here again.”

• Very nice location.
• Could smell cigarette smoke in the hall, ice outside door.

“Very nice, clean room. Good friendly employees. Had non smoking room, but smoking rooms on same floor and could smell smoke in hall. Ice outside side entrance, almost fell. Could hear people in hallway.”

• The hotel was very clean. Service was excellent. Great for one night. They even have a fitness room.
• The bed could be a little more comfortable.

“Located in a good spot on Route 13 south. The room was very clean and tasteful. The complimentary breakfast was fine, coffee, bagels, cereals and fruit and yogurt. It is near Wegmans, shopping and restaurants on Route 13 south, and close to Ithaca College. I would stay there again.”

• The non-smoking room had absolutely been smoked in!

• The exercise room was a bit poor.

“For a super 8, this one was quite nice. The rooms were clean, the people were helpful, and it was within walking distance of Downtown Ithaca. I'd stay there again.”

• The comfort of the bed and small limited towels (2).

“The motel is in a convenient location. The staff was very friendly. Check-in was painless. The room was what I expected. There was a free continental breakfast, and a computer in the lobby with free internet access.”

• The hotel was very clean and the beds were comfortable.
• The hallways smelled of cigarette smoke.

“We were a little apprehensive about booking a one-star hotel, but the Ithaca Super 8 was clean and comfortable. The continental breakfast was out before the stated 6 a.m., and it was very nice for a free breakfast. There was a little coffee maker in the room. We were pleasantly surprised.”

• The price, convenience to the Ithaca college and ease of checking. Nice continental breakfast with TV too.
• Can't think of anything. Nice stay. Would go back.

• The hotel for what it was priced at was a good value. It was fairly convenient to all we needed to get to.
• Could have been a little cleaner, primarily in the common areas. Decor could have been a little brighter, upbeat.

“Super-8-ithaca was a good value for the purpose of our stay. We were on a college visit and when visiting many schools it can get expensive. The rooms were clean, the staff aimed to please, no bad attitudes. Dark colors on trim doors etc. Seems to tie in with the weather in Ithaca, primarily cloudy and dull. Could use a little brightening. Rooms were fine¿ comfortable, internet access. Not all the amenities, but I got what I paid for.”

• The hotel staff was outstanding.
• The room was so cold when we got there it took over an hour to heat it up.

• Did not have a legible map of Ithaca or of Ithaca college.

• Hotel had plumbing problems, no hot water.

“Pleasant rooms and a courteous staff. Rooms are a little small and dark, not enough light around bathroom area. Hot water boiler was out of service for our entire stay. ”

• The hotel was recently renovated, clean and friendly staff!
• The staff let themselves in to clean before we'd checked out, an hour before check out time.

“Room was clean, staff was friendly (although they did try to enter the room to clean before we'd checked out and an hour before check-out time), breakfast was sufficient. Grocery store and other shopping close by in case you forget something!”

• No fridge and no ice dispenser on the second floor.

“Best value for the price. Quiet and clean room with TV in a safe neighborhood. Right next to a huge super market and across the street from Ithaca's best (used to be NY state's best, but still very good!) Thai restaurant . If you just spend a night or need a place to rest after a busy day, it is a great deal. If you need more than that, you should go some other hotel and spend more money.”
