• The cleanliness, the friendliness and the quality.
• Parking procedures could have been clearer but this is separate from the hotel.

“This hotel was perfect for us. It was located 1 1/2 miles from Johns Hopkins which was the purpose of the trip. Yet it was nice to come back and relax at the wonderful location on the harbor. The room was beautiful and comfortable. The staff was great and anything we needed was conveniently located.”

• I was suprised they did not make me put a quarter in the slot to make the elevator work.

“Great hotel, great location, as a business traveler staying business hotels I was surprised at how little business services were included in this hotel. No included wireless, no included business center, no printer for my email tickets and boarding pass.”

• Convenient location. Cleanliness of the room. Extremely comfortable bed.
• Food levels were always 3/4 empty no matter what time you arrived. Staff in morning was not good.

• The location was perfect; across the street from the inner harbor.

“This is definitely an upscale hotel. The bed was extremely comfortable. The people were friendly. The pool was chilly, but the hot tub was perfect. The location was awesome. I would definitely recommend this hotel.”

“Typical Renaissance - clean, upscale. I was very disappointed that they did not offer room service at all past 12am. They referred us to some horrible delivery service that arrived an hour late and then the manager would not let them deliver the food to the room. I fell asleep as they were one hour late and then had to hike down a very long hallway and 14 stories in an elevator to meet the delivery guy who offered no apology and basically rolled his eyes at me. Then he and the manager kind of snickered at my irritability and made me feel like the outcast. Goes to show that poor service really can change an entire experience.”

• Hotel was at the Inner Harbor.
• Alarm went off at midnight, evacuation process was horrid. No explanation given.

“The hotel was clean and centrally located. The weekend concierge was sarcastic and not helpful. The bell staff were great. The evacuation siren went off at midnight one evening and there was not a clear evacuation plan. We evacuated the hotel and the staff did not inform us of the cause or when we could return to our rooms. We waited close to an hour an had to ask someone if we could return to our room and finally they said we could. The lobby was full of people and no one did not keep the guests abreast with emergency/evacuation information.”

“Here is the letter I wrote after our stay: My husband and I were guests in room
of the Harborplace Renaissance Hotel on Saturday. At approximately 1:00 am Sunday morning we were suddenly awoken by the sounding fire alarm. As we quickly vacated our room, we joined several others filing to the fire escape. There were not any announcements or any security personnel advising or instructing us. We, along with other guests, were totally shocked. People were alarmed, children were crying and your guests didn't have a clue of what was going on or what we should do. After walking down 11 flights of steps to the outside, we sat outdoors on the curb, confused for approximately 20 minutes. Not one person came outside to tell us anything. Not one word was said. By our own accord, we reentered the hotel. I asked a custodian if it were safe to return, she replied, sure go ahead right back up. If, God forbid, it were a true emergency, it would have been chaos. I understand a false alarm, even if it were at 1:00 am, but I do not, for the life of me understand how you can permit an entire hotel of guests to proceed to emergency exits without any kind of announcements or security guidance.
We are thankful that it was, indeed, simply a false alarm.
We will not be staying at the Marriott Renaissance Hotel in the future and I will be certain to verbally relay our experience to my business associates and family.”

• The rooms were extremely quiet.
• As a business traveler working on a laptop the chair at the desk was bad.

“Centrally located in downtown Baltimore it's easy to get to everything fun. I just wished they would have had a functional and comfortable desk chair that adjusts for computer users. The rooms are well insulated so you don't hear any nearby guests.”

• The location on the Inner Harbor, view from room.
• It was obvious the hotel has undergone a upgrade/remodel. The first room we were shown was old looking, 2nd worked.

“Overall, we had a great time staying here. The first room we were shown wasn't very pleasing. It seemed to almost miss the recent remodel. Chose to upgrade to a harbor view room, which was much better. The room/bed was very clean and comfortable. Disappointed about the high price to park the rental. Staff was excellent, as was the Water Table restaurant. Great location in the heart of Baltimore's inner harbor.”

• Wonderful location in Baltimore's inner harbor area.
• No mini fridge in room. Street noises occasionally loud enough to disturb in the morning.

“Polite and helpful staff. Gracious, welcoming lobby. Wonderful location on Pratt - right at inner harbor. Easy access by light rail from airport or train station - inexpensive taxi ride from train station to hotel. Entry from hotel into modest sized 5 floor shopping plaza. Less (and more) expensive restaurants abound in the area.”

• Room was fine but nothing special. Somewhat tired. Parking expensive.

“For visiting Baltimore's Inner Harbor for pleasure or business, the location of this hotel cannot be beat. It's across the street from the Inner Harbor shopping pavilion. Getting in and out of the hotel is easy and convenient to all Baltimore attractions including Camden Yards and M&T Bank Stadium. The lobby and restaurant areas of the hotel are very attractive and smartly decorated. The room we had was nothing special, but was clean enough and average size. The room came with a nice flat panel television however the digital signal was annoying at times. The hallways were a little loud at night but several wedding parties were staying there that weekend. No complaints about the service or staff. Everyone was very nice and very responsive to our requests. Be prepared to pay $26 per night for parking, but it does allow for easy coming and going at all hours.”

• The hotel rooms feel very luxurious and relaxing. Immaculate.
• Lobby can be noisy and filled with family groups.

“This hotel is connected to a terrific mall. Sometimes it feels like the entire city is passing through the lobby. But the restaurant and bar on the 5th floor is relaxing and welcoming, beautiful and stylish. There is always a wedding or prom going on in the adjacent event space, so you can always sip your wine and admire the gowns the guests are wearing. The rooms are relaxing and luxurious, the staff is a cut above most places I have been. I like everything about this hotel. The location is great.”

• The price of parking is a little steep.

• Maid service was very late one day.

“Very nice, I only stay at 4 star hotels and this one was very nice and the location is absolutely perfect. I would highly recommend it to anyone staying in the Inner Harbor area. The bellhops and valets were fun and very nice and went the extra mile.”

• This hotel was clean, spacious and right where all the action was- right across from the harbor!
• Pricey parking of $26 but in this area, it's expected.

“This hotel had a quick check-in/check-out process, conveniently located just right across the Harbor place where food, live performances and everything else is. The hotel even has a connected Sky bridge that you can walk across directly to the harbor area! Top marks for convenience/location. Very clean and spacious hotel room.”

• Great location to Inner Harbor & Camden Yards.
• The hotel had 4 elevators for 12 floors and the hotel was crowded with NY Yankee fans and it seemed like only 2 elevators were working.

“Need to have all 4 elevators working when the hotel is that crowded. Seemed like only 2 of 4 were working. Need better elevator service!”

• Great new, great cheap breakfast for kids, accessible to many attractions.
• Minor item - more towels at the pool would be nice.

• I love the location, the staff, the room, the quietness, the price, the flat screen TV.
• People sitting on the ledge across from hotel was not too tasteful.

“I enjoyed my stay at this hotel, and would love to go and stay at this hotel again! I also would recommend sneakers since the elevator is far if you are on the other side. The rooms are great, I wish they had a refrigerator and more options for cable channels. The internet should be free and perhaps a light buffet breakfast would also help those who do not want to fetch breakfast at Panera (2 blocks away). I did not get a Harbor view (I would have to pay a huge fee to do so). I enjoyed the walking distance to a lot of attractions and the Gallery is an exceptional high end mall that is attached to the hotel. There is a Cheesecake Factory, Uno and other places to eat directly across the street. PF Chang and Filenes are two blocks away. The Ducks is a great tour and so are a lot of the attractions. Enjoy. Parking is a headache just leave your car or be ready to pay. Good trip overall. I look forward to go back.”

• The beds were the most comfortable that I've encountered. You didn't want to get out in the morning.
• It was expensive to park in the garage.

“This was one of the nicest, most comfortable hotels we've stayed in. There were little extras that you don't see often. We were sad that we couldn't stay another night.”

• The beds were very comfortable. The location was great even though the view from our room was not the greatest. We just got a partial view.
