“The Renaissance Harbor place Hotel is extremely convenient to all the Inner Harbor attractions. All the major attractions where a short walk. As for the hotel, it was very clean, the room was bright and cheerful. The view from the room was very good, we had a great view of the sunrise.”

  • Convenience to the Inner Harbor was excellent - located just across the street.
  • The floor was not vacuumed, one light burned out in bathroom, bed sheet had a whole in it.

“All of the hotel employees were friendly. From the doormen to the front desk to Housekeeping to the Maintenance Man. We called housekeeping and maintenance and within 10 minutes our problems were solved. The lobby was clean and spacious. Our room was very large with a view of the Harbor.”

  • The towels in the bath could use an upgrade. The elevator was a very long distance from certain rooms.

“Overall hotel was nice, clean, friendly staff, although the room service attendant told me she would return with the forgotten water and never returned, although i felt she wasnt going to, the hotel itself was just too noisy, it felt like you were outside on the street and the noise in the hallways was a bit much
if you dont mind noise its great
I might go back there just for the room service meals
which were supurb especially the bread pudding in wiskey sauce I'm still dreaming about it.”

  • The location of the hotel was ideal. It was within easy access to everything that we wanted to see.
  • There was road work, not the fault of the hotel, but still annoying.

  • The location of the hotel is unbeatable - it is right across from the harbor in a great neighborhood.
  • The pool was crawling with kids and was way too small to accommodate both children and adults.

“This hotel is in an awesome location! The harbor is right across the street and anywhere you would want to go is no longer than a short cab ride away. The rooms in this hotel have been recently renovated and are stunning. Flat screen TV's and plush sleeping arrangements to be precise. I enjoyed coffee each morning in the cafe and free wireless in the lobby. The swimming pool and the elevators are the low lights of this hotel. There are only one set of elevators and there are many rooms. The swimming pool is crawling with kids at all hours which I reluctantly understand, but the size of the pool is quite small and a leisurely adult swimmer can find no room amongst the constant splashing.”

  • Great location! Close to everything! Attractive rooms/lobby.
  • Parking is pricey and city view rooms are loud!

“The hotel is very convenient to all the offerings of the Inner Harbor & stadiums. The front desk staff was very friendly and the restaurant, for the breakfast buffet, was exceptional, but not cheap! The room we had featured two queens with a fridge, a nice HD TV. Granite tops in the bathroom & on the dresser. Nice sheets/comforter set and solid dark wood decor throughout.”

  • The housekeeping department neglected to make sure that the items were cleaned and replenished from the previous guests.

“The hotel did my expectations with the exception of the noise at night cause by the cars on the street riding over the metal plate. Each time a car went over the plate it cause us to jump in our sleep. When I mentioned it to the front desk the response was I should have told them sooner.”

“Room given to us was a Parlour Suite, a living room with a fold down bed. This was the first time I have ever been in a hotel room with a full size bed. On top of that, I am 6' 2". Full size doesn't work. Would have requested other room, but didn't realize in room until midnight, as we were out checking out the town. When going to use the pool, the entire floor the pool was on was under construction. And the pool was locked. Neither the front desk on check in nor the receptionist when we called for pool hours mentioned that is was closed and not available. Front desk was less than willing to help with any problems or issues.”

  • Pool closed for renovations while we were there.

“Best location in Baltimore's Inner Harbor. Walking distance to everything. You could even walk around the mall in your slippers if you wanted. Pool is currently closed for renovations, but they will reimburse you for your cab ride to one of their sister hotels. Did not get the room with 2 beds as requested, but they did provide a cot.”

  • Very friendly, accommodating service- on all levels-convenience of coffee bar in lobby, access to mall & good location by all attires/rests.Clean comfy room.
  • I traveled by train, so it would've been helpful if they had a shuttle of some sort. No complaints.

  • The manager helped resolve a problem in an adjacent parking lot. He paid special attention to me on my birthday trip.
  • Nothing. We had a terrific time and would definitely return in the future.

“The hotel was centrally located to the Inner Harbor and other attractions. The bar and restaurant were attractive. We had a drink in the bar on the fifth floor. The pool was newly remodeled, but we did not have time to use it. The staff and hotel manager were attentive and professional. We had a wonderful time!”

“Located directly across from the Inner Harbor, you cannot beat the convenient location. We had appetizers at the Watertable Restaurant which were excellent, especially the mussels. The room and bedding were comfortable. Would stay here again in a heart beat.”

“Everyone was extremely rude, made our stay very bad. Everything was wrong from the room, to the valley price. The
AC did not work for 3 days and we had heat pumping into an already hot room. They never apologized for anything.”

“This is my first time staying at The Renaissance. I can't recommend it enough. The kids loved looking out the window out to the harbor. The bridge was so convenient for crossing over Pratt St. We were above the Gallery mall (need I say more).”

  • It is very convenient to the Baltimore Inner Harbour (right across the street).
  • The room that we had was an interior room and the view wasnt all that great.

  • The cleanliness, the friendliness and the quality.
  • Parking procedures could have been clearer but this is separate from the hotel.

“This hotel was perfect for us. It was located 1 1/2 miles from Johns Hopkins which was the purpose of the trip. Yet it was nice to come back and relax at the wonderful location on the harbor. The room was beautiful and comfortable. The staff was great and anything we needed was conveniently located.”

“Typical Renaissance - clean, upscale. I was very disappointed that they did not offer room service at all past 12am. They referred us to some horrible delivery service that arrived an hour late and then the manager would not let them deliver the food to the room. I fell asleep as they were one hour late and then had to hike down a very long hallway and 14 stories in an elevator to meet the delivery guy who offered no apology and basically rolled his eyes at me. Then he and the manager kind of snickered at my irritability and made me feel like the outcast. Goes to show that poor service really can change an entire experience.”

  • Alarm went off at midnight, evacuation process was horrid. No explanation given.

“The hotel was clean and centrally located. The weekend concierge was sarcastic and not helpful. The bell staff were great. The evacuation siren went off at midnight one evening and there was not a clear evacuation plan. We evacuated the hotel and the staff did not inform us of the cause or when we could return to our rooms. We waited close to an hour an had to ask someone if we could return to our room and finally they said we could. The lobby was full of people and no one did not keep the guests abreast with emergency/evacuation information.”

“Here is the letter I wrote after our stay: My husband and I were guests in room
of the Harborplace Renaissance Hotel on Saturday. At approximately 1:00 am Sunday morning we were suddenly awoken by the sounding fire alarm. As we quickly vacated our room, we joined several others filing to the fire escape. There were not any announcements or any security personnel advising or instructing us. We, along with other guests, were totally shocked. People were alarmed, children were crying and your guests didn't have a clue of what was going on or what we should do. After walking down 11 flights of steps to the outside, we sat outdoors on the curb, confused for approximately 20 minutes. Not one person came outside to tell us anything. Not one word was said. By our own accord, we reentered the hotel. I asked a custodian if it were safe to return, she replied, sure go ahead right back up. If, God forbid, it were a true emergency, it would have been chaos. I understand a false alarm, even if it were at 1:00 am, but I do not, for the life of me understand how you can permit an entire hotel of guests to proceed to emergency exits without any kind of announcements or security guidance.
We are thankful that it was, indeed, simply a false alarm.
We will not be staying at the Marriott Renaissance Hotel in the future and I will be certain to verbally relay our experience to my business associates and family.”
