• When I called 1 week prior to request 2 dbl beds, they were very courteous.

• Great pool! Good design for kids. Also had pool toys!
• The restaurant took a very long time to serve lunch.

• The staff was incredibly friendly.
• Parking lot was a long walk around the hotel to lobby.

“It's too bad they will never fix their revolving rooftop restaurant, as that was, at one time, a feature of downtown Baltimore. Otherwise, I would recommend the Holiday Inn, although it is not quite as close to the Harbor as one would like.”

• If you don't know Baltimore, it can be difficult to get to.

“Despite the negative reviews of this hotel, I thought it was quite nice for the money. The building is under some remodeling, but it is going to look spectacular. I would recommend finding another lot or garage to park in, as the parking for the hotel was $18.”

• I did not like the hotel.
• I did not like the fact that I had to pay $18.00 for parking.

“The hotel appearance is ok but not three star. They did not offer expedited check-out service, not news paper was provided. The parking lot costs $18.00, there was no continental breakfast, I did not see a bell hop, the heating system was very loud, I had to turn it off to sleep and was cold because of the trade off. There was no stationary provided or even a note pad.”

• I liked the updated lobby and cleanliness of the pool and fitness areas.
• Hotel has 2 buildings not joined without going outside. Bad plan.

“We liked the location ,but we were placed in an older dated room in the adjacent bldg. We had to go outside through parking to get to the pool in 25 degrees with strong winds. No dining or bar was a shocker had to leave hotel to dine and did not plan on that with our schedule. We would not stay here unless we were in main building with open dining and lounge.”

• The hotel was convenient located to the inner harbor and other attractions.
• I did not like the busy firehouse next door.

“I would recommend this hotel on a number of reasons: 1. Location to the harbor 2. Location to 1st Mariner Arena 3. Very nice pool and Sauna 4. The hotel staff cared that I was there.”

• The front desk staff was very helpful and nice.
• The housekeeping staff was very rude and basically kicked me out of my room!

“The hotel room was very nice - large and lots of space for my belongings and materials. Great for business travelers. Only issue was the Housekeeping service staff who was very rude and not helpful.”

“I would never stay in this hotel again nor utilize it on your services definitely not a 3 star hotel more like a roach motel. I've stayed at Holiday Inn's many times in the past and this one definitely does not do it justice.”

• The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and made things very easy for us.
• I wish they had more options for eating in but were doing construction.

“The hotel was nice and in a very convenient location. The hotel staff was extremely helpful and kind. Even though there was remodeling going on in the hotel, they minimized the disruption to patrons. I would recommend this hotel as a very affordable, convenient and nice place to stay which is convenient to activities in and around the inner harbor.”

• Very run-down, unattractive, smelled bad, dirty.

“This hotel is very run-down, it smelled badly, I did not feel safe here, the bathroom door did not close all the way. It did not match the rating it was given in the slightest way possible. I would never stay there again. It was supposed to be a higher end hotel and I felt that it was decidedly lower end.”

• The room/bedding was new, modern and comfortable.
• Their restaurant and entire lobby was under construction, and I was not aware of the renovations occurring.

“The hotel was nice, however, the restaurant and bar area were under construction and one of my main reasons to stay there was to have a restaurant and bar so I could stay in. Also the water was cold and could not take a shower”

• We enjoyed the indoor pool and sauna, the fitness room and the cafe in the lobby. Also, the location was great-within walking distance to most sights.
• We did not like walking through the parking garage/breezway to get to the pool. Parking was expensive too.

“Staff was extremely friendly and helpful with suggestions for restaurants and nightlife. The room was clean, bathroom was very small. Parking was $18 per day. The pool, sauna and fitness center were clean and supplied with towels.”

• I asked the girl at the front desk where a good place for breakfast was and she gave bad directions and said she was not from the area.

• Central location - walk everywhere - amazing king size bed.
• Construction - dodgy parking lot (and expensive!) - ice machine broken on my floor.

“This hotel exceeded my expectations for a Holiday Inn. The room was huge, spacious, lovely, and fastidiously clean. The king size bed seemed enormous! There was no fridge (and the ice machine on our floor was broken), but the rest of the amenities were totally adequate. Parking in the adjoined lot was an adventure (I might be apprehensive if I were doing it alone), and it was fairly pricey, at $18. All of the front desk staff were polite and efficient, and even gave us a room with a view of Camden Yards and the Inner Harbor. We walked *everywhere* -- Mt. Vernon, 15 minutes; Federal Hill, 20 minutes. Overall, a very positive experience.”

• The dirty rooms and the lack of staff.

“Since I was with my girlfriend I asked if there were any king beds available. He mentioned that since we are expecting quite a lot of people tonight, we cannot accommodate you. He mentioned that there were only a handful of rooms with kings available. We were placed in a "filthy", extremely small room, with a queen bed. We wouldn't have minded the small room but it was filthy! There was actual dirt on the floor and the bed slanted downward at a 30 degree angle to the headboard. The mattress was probably over 15 years old. It was horrible too. This is the kind of room someone stays in if its that last room in the hotel and possibly for the maintenance staff if they pull an all knighted. It was unacceptable. Unacceptable. I am actually furious about this. We called the hotel manager and this time we got someone else (possibly change in shifts) and she mentioned that there was a king available on our floor and she sent someone to bring us the keys. Thank god! We got food from the hotel restaurant and although it was not high in quality and the staff was helpful (except for the woman bartender who would only wait on her 1 high roller tipper, who was an employee of the hotel, at the bar and not take our order she ignored us and possibly rolled her eyes at us when we asked if we can order food at the bar). We ordered it in the restaurant and the restaurant was packed with way too few servers. People were waiting and seating themselves. It was pretty ugly. However, we got our food relatively quick. Once again, my hamburger was huge but 75% lean frozen patty but all the fixings were there as well as silverware.”

“Hotel is in a great location if you plan on going to Camden Yards or the Inner Harbor. Light rail transportation to BWI Airport is a block away. We didn't need to rent a car while we were down there. Everything was within walking distance to the hotel.”

• The location was great and overlooking the baseball field was great.
• I was charged a parking fee and the service in the restaurant was terrible, we got up and left.

“I thought the rooms were old but clean and my non smoking room was comfortable. I did love the free wireless internet.”

• Easy to find.
• Gave us keys to an all ready occupied room and then replaced with keys (that didn't work) to a new room.

“I've stayed in better hotels, (and it was for 1 night). Took an hour to check in due them trying to give us keys to an all ready occupied room and moved us to new room w/keys that didn't work for that room. I felt the hotel parking was a little pricy considering location within the hotel. Beds were very hard and pillows were not comfortable but once again, it was for one night.”

• Nothing spectacular really jumped out at me. It was kept very clean, at least.
• Sagging mattress, cramped bathroom, uncomfortable pillows, hole in wall patched with tape, overall room quality.

“My fiancée and I stayed at the hotel for only one night, and I'm thankful for that as it was the worst night of sleep I've had in a long time. While we were grateful that the hotel had honored our request for a queen size bed, it was either an extremely old or extremely low quality mattress as the middle was so sunken in we found ourselves tumbling into it throughout the night. The pillows were also about 3 times as thick as usual, and very firm. The hotel does offer a "pillow menu", where one can call the front desk to request a different density, but we felt the fuss should be avoided by providing a quality pillow to begin with. In the morning we decided to try the hotel restaurant's breakfast buffet, but its selection - waffles, omelets, scrambled eggs, potatoes, bacon, and various fruit, pastries, and cereals - was pretty meager for the $15 per person price tag. We would not stay again.”

“I stayed there for 5 nights. Three of those nights there was no hot water to shower - although there was hot water from the sink. The ice machine didn't work on my floor. When I asked for coffee packets, I had to call Holiday Inn Corporate to complain as I waited for 1-1/2 hrs. Then, when I asked for ice, I was told to go to another floor.”

• It had a free computer in the lobby.
• Parking was very expensive. Inconvenient room location. Located across from forestation.

“The main part of this hotel looked to be decent, but when I found out where our actual room was, the idea was not so pleasant. There was a separate building located to the side of the main hotel. You literally have to walk outside to get to the lobby from your building. The room itself was dark and looked old. The mattresses were old as well and were sunken in. There is a fire station across the street from this hotel and it is very loud. Especially in the morning hours. ”

“The hotel was nice for the star rating given but they charged my c/c and had to travel back to the hotel to get my refund. I was not give anything for the inconvenience I was put through.”

“The holiday inn is a surprisingly excellent choice when staying in downtown Baltimore. Although rated only 2.5-stars, the facilities are more like a 3-star hotel. The rooms were spacious and well-appointed, the bed was comfortable, and the hotel was clean and well-maintained.”
