  • Great location close to places to eat and theme parks. Good area.
  • Room was small. Phone didn't work, they said they would replace it never did. I was surprised to find no linens for the sleeper sofa.

“The hotel was nice, extremely happy at the price. Location was great best part. Area was nice felt safe a plus traveling with my kids. Nice pools don't know why they don't advertise the indoor pool. Felt the restaurant was pricey didn't eat their. Plenty of options in the area to eat at. The room was nice though small. I felt the sleeper sofa bed should have had lines on it had to go to the front to ask. Room phone didn't work they never did replace or fix it. Staff was friendly and I would definitely stay again.”

  • The extremely comfortable king sized bed and the courtyard indoor/outdoor pool.

  • The staff was incredibly polite and friendly.
  • Indoor pool was ice cold.

“I'd recommend this Courtyard. It is very close to Busch gardens, slightly further from Colonial Williamsburg (CW). However, don't be misled: unless you are staying at one of the CW hotels, you will be driving to CW. The Crowne Plaza is *not* within walking distance. The hotel was very busy on the weekend with tourist travelers and much quieter with business travelers on Sunday night.”

  • Very quiet and seemed to be more away from the touristy area.
  • No restaurant or lounge on site and rooms are in need or some updating, looking a little tattered, desk staff needs to be trained on area.

“Very comfortable beds, and wonderful bath amenities, even though it was a heated pool the temp was not hot as so many are, it was perfect. The room was very comfortable and included a fridge. Even has internet including a wireless keyboard for business travelers. Since it's a bit removed, everything within walking distance is closed before 10 including the convenience store.”

  • The hotel was in a convenient location, and the rooms were quite despite the high school field trip across the hall.
  • We gave the hotel our debit card for incidentals and the automatically do a pending charge for $100, without notifying us.

“The hotel was a great experience. The room was nice, a little small, but a good experience. It would have been nice to know in advance about the hotel's indoor pool. We would have brought swimsuits. But even the hotel's website did not list the indoor pool.”

  • I liked the decor and cleanliness.
  • Close to train tracks and staff was rude.

“The staff was very rude and unaccommodating. What did that have to do with needing more towels? What did that have to do with asking about 2 queen beds availability? Either it's available or not. Checking out was another hassle. I paid in advance and they kept asking me where my statement was so they could close my account. I showed my receipt and they needed to confer and get back to me and made me wait until I was told I was free to go about 20 minutes later. I would never book at a Marriott again and I'm a club member.”

  • The bathroom shower could have used a good bleaching, it was slightly stained.

“This was a very good stay for the money. It's very well located from all of the local attractions. The only issues we had was the tub was either stained or just dirty from repeated cleaning neglect. Over-all, I'd stay again.”

  • The hotel was clean and well-maintained and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
  • I was disappointed that breakfast was not included in the cost of the stay. It was $9.95.

“My wife and I arrived and were pleased immediately with the hotel's appearance inside and out. The lobby was very clean and quiet and there was a nice fire in the fireplace surrounded by chairs. The front desk staff was courteous to help any time we asked and there was a small market with drinks and snacks that could be charged to the room. In our room we found a large (and very comfortable) king bed, a small couch, refrigerator and cable TV with HBO and PPV. It was very quiet and off the main road, which made for a nice stay. We would definitely return if we could get the same service at the same price.”

“My stay at this hotel was just fine. I liked the way that the room was decorated. I thought that the room was very clean and I have no complaints at all. Though we didn't use the pool or hot tub, I am pleased that these were amenities that were offered by this hotel. Given other circumstances, I would definitely have used these amenities. Overall, I am VERY pleased with this hotel experience.”

  • Broken drain in shower, bed linens not fitting the bed.

“Our stay at this hotel was very disappointing. We arrived to find a broken drain in the shower that could have caused someone to fall. Around 11 pm that night, the sheets started to come off the edges of the bed while watching TV. I realized the bottom sheet was put on upside down and the mattress pad was not large enough to fit a twin size bed. I wondered if they put the sheet on wrong to keep from putting a clean sheet on. My husband went to the front desk to ask for a clean set of bed linens around midnight. Twenty minutes later a man brought in a whole set of linens/comforter/etc from another bed (not used) because they could not get into the room with the clean linens. I wonder why they did not just move us to another room. The next day I was afraid to allow housekeeping in the room to clean because we were told they would be reprimanded for the condition of the room. We did not want any retaliation by disgruntled employees. We stayed in 2 hotels during this trip and the 2 1/2 star hotel was better than the 3 star hotel.”

“We had an excellent stay at this Courtyard by Marriott. The hotel was located in an attractive wooded setting and close to the historic area. The staff was friendly, the rooms were very nice, and the fireplace in the lobby was an added bonus. As a former resident of Williamsburg and a frequent visitor, I would select this hotel for all future stays.”

“This hotel was near the "other" Marriott hotel in the same loop, so it was easy to get them mixed up for first time visit. The room was clean and well equipped. All towels and supplies stocked as expected. Biggest drawback was the fan did not have an associated switch to air out the bathroom during a shower. Other than that, our overall experience was pleasant.”

  • We were impressed with the staff for their friendliness and helpfulness; even the staff we met walking down the hallway would stop, smile, and say Hi.
  • Did not like having to park so far away from the building, but it was better than other places we've stayed.

“Great Getaway or business. Very impressed with the staff and friendliness. Very clean and comfortable. We will definitely plan a return visit. Was great value for the money we paid and was very close to area attractions so made traveling with youngsters very comfortable. We made arrangements late practically before we left and everything was in order and pleasant from beginning to end.”

“There were two families with teenagers in our party. This Courtyard could not have been more convenient for us after an exhausting day at Busch Gardens - roughly a mile from the park. The common areas as well as the rooms were clearly a cut above the 1 and 2 star tiers of nearby hotels. The desk staff was very helpful with our late check-in (although the beds in one room had not been made, maid service quickly appeared and we were given free breakfast vouchers for the inconvenience.). All-in-all a pleasant experience. We would certainly stay there again.”

  • The lobby and front desk service was appealing. The outside of the hotel was well maintained.
  • Did not offer continental breakfast. There was no coffee in our room the second morning, The cleanliness was not top rate.

  • Couldn't find the hotel as it was hidden in a maze of streets.

“The lady at the front desk was extremely helpful and made us feel real comfortable especially since we arrived in a big thunder storm with lightning at 12 midnight. We had a hard time finding the hotel with the directions given. It was hidden in a nice secluded location which we couldn't find. Otherwise, it was good.”

  • Moldy shower curtain and old soap in shower.

“We had a great experience here! We were traveling with 7 kids and needed to have the rooms close to us and also needed double beds. The check-in staff was very friendly and accommodating and we didn't check in until 11PM, but had no problems even with the late check-in. Had some mold on the shower curtain and some old soap in the soap dish of the shower, but beyond that they were great rooms and great staff. I definitely recommend staying here.”

“The first day I stayed there we ate breakfast and had no indications that it was not complementary. The following day we were charged and confused since it had not happened before.   • The bathroom did not have exhaust fan. We didnt like that.

  • Great location.
  • Room wasn't cleaned at all.

“Location was great. Room was never cleaned. We left the room at 8am and returned at 11pm and it hadn't been cleaned. Called to the front desk for towels and they made us walk down to get them.”
