“The room was comfortable and the furnishings were of a good quality, but the cleanliness was questionable as there were stains on the armchair and someone else's undergarments still left in the dresser drawer.”

• The kids were happy that it had a swimming pool.
• The fitted sheet did not stay on the bed.

“The hotel was great. The housekeeping could have been a little better but for the most part it was fine. The kids would have also liked a kiddy pool where they could actually stand up in the pool.”

“It was far from the best but far from the worst. We were there one night, got a good nights sleep. It was clean and did not stink. For what it needed to be at the price I received, it did its job.”

• Location - very easy to get to everywhere we needed to go.
• Bed was horribly uncomfortable and room was very dull and unappealing.

“Hotel was centrally located for our needs. The room service staff was the greatest but the mattress was horrible and left me with an extremely bad back ache which made it difficult to walk each day that we stayed.”

• Not enough lighting in the room. A little difficult to find at first.

“It is exactly what I expect of a Holiday Inn. It is somewhat better than a Motel 6 or Red Roof Inn. It is near the Harley-Davidson factory, so there were many Harley tourists. The surrounding neighborhood looks like it is about to be demolished for some sort of shopping center. There are plenty of casual dining choices within a few miles of the hotel.”

• The house keeping staff goes through your belongings and suitcases!

“I would never recommend this motel to anyone. The Manager, Norman Miller III is spineless. He would not refund any portion or give any relief in the way of price for occupancy during my stay. He delegated his responsibility to his Sales Dept. She did not know of the disturbance that his housekeeping staff had created and would not budge in price for fear of losing her job. The housekeeper left horrifying and derogatory notes in my room. I felt completely vulnerable and totally unsafe while staying at that motel. I fear the made would enlist accomplishes to retaliate against my legitimate complaints. The motel is on the market and in the process of being sold. Everyone is in fear of losing their jobs. So no one will stand up for the customers and their sanity!”

• Room was quiet and comfortable, no frills though.
• Restaurant closed upon our check-in 9:30 pm. No bar open.

“No frills, ok for a quick overnight stay while traveling. Room was quiet and comfortable. Minimal amenities. No bar or restaurant open at 9:30 check in on a Saturday night. ”

• Hotel manual open to security page; I felt unsafe, worried that our car might be stolen.

• Shared computer for internet access.
• Rooms detached from main facility.

“The motel style with drive up rooms made it very difficult to use the exercise room because it was too cold to go outside in exercise clothes and there were no changing facilities. The shared computer for internet access was quite handy although it was as hot as a sauna in the room with this computer. The hotel was clean and the staff friendly but it was an older hotel that was built more along the lines of a motel. A bit like mutton parading as lamb.”

“I would not recommend this because the outside of hotel was not clean, the laundry room was horribly dirty, housekeeping did not do a good job as one would expect. Food in the restaurant was not very good and too costly for what one got. I will not stay at this hotel again.”

• It was near many nice restaurants and things to do.
• It is right next to 1-83. It was very noisy.

“The room was dirty. Hairs were in the bathtub and the carpets were scroungy. It looked as if the cracks along the walls hadn't been swept in weeks. The bathroom was small, tight and gave us the feeling of uncleanness.”

“The room was truly disgusting. There were stains on the bedding, a cigarette hole in the covers, an even a smell to the room that my 5 year old noticed. The furnishing was old and shabby. I was glad when the night was finally over. ”

“We were pleasantly surprised at the excellent service we received upon arrival. Room service was a great added bonus. Though the hotel doesn't look like much from the outside, it was more than we expected because of the way the staff made us feel welcomed and important, both professional and friendly. We would go back again.”

• The hotel is a easy to miss if you don't pay close attention.

“The hotel some how got my reservation screwed up, thinking I had not payed for my second night's stay. When I returned to my room late that night, they had disabled my key and locked me out of my room. I had to spend the night in a different room, without access to my stuff. It was quite an inconvenience.”

• Badly in need of renovation!! hallways were dirty.

“This hotel reminded me of a "motel" from the 1960's. All rooms were entered from the poorly lit outdoor walkways which were also extremely dirty. I did not feel particularly safe and did not feel that the hotel met my expectations for a 2.5 star hotel or the price of $60 plus. The staff was very courteous and helpful but the accomodations were sorely lacking. ”

• Helpful desk clerks. Provided discount coupons to in house restaurant.
• Room had obviously been cleaned well, but empty coke cans left on desk.

“Overall an excellent stay. Staff and accommodations were first rate. Only negative was that a couple trash items (coke cans) had been left of desk after the maid cleaned the room from the previous guest.”

• It was easy to find.
• The automatic front door to the lobby injured my son's hand and the staff appeared to not want to respond.

“I did not find staff to be friendly or helpful. I found the front automatic door to the lobby to be dangerous. Not only did it injur my son's hand but then it closed on my elbow. The walkways between rooms were dirty and the pool was poor.”

• The area outside my room had the aroma of a garbage dumpster

“This is not what I had in mind for a Holiday Inn.It's like a converted motel 6 from the 60's. Room entrances are outside. The room was ok but the Air conditioning didn't work so I had to move to another room. The whole place is just run down.”

• Our stay is over and we are never going back.
• Hotel should be 1 star. Dirty, noisy, had to call front desk every night regarding other guest's noise.

• Nothing remarkable.
• Hotel is well situated and convenient once you know the highway layout of York. The highway dept. needs to improve signage and highway exit marking

• This hotel is close to lots of restaurants and strip malls.
• The cleaning staff failed to vacuum the entire length of my stay and left a room service tray there all day.

“The best thing about this hotel is its location. This hotel has outside entry like a motel. The cleaning staff does very little cleaning, they didn't vacuum the floor the entire time I was there (9 days). I ordered room service and the maid left the tray in the room. I had to call someone to come pick it up. The air in the room was very stuffy and foul smells would seep into the room from outside. ”

• maids were all very nice and helpful
• bad neighborhood; room run down and not that great

“I could not believe the neighborhood this hotel was in -- had my husband not been with us, I would have forfeited my money and stayed somewhere else. The room was somewhat run down and dingy. I was disappointed. We kept parking in the front of the hotel even though our room was in the back. We hoped this would keep our van safer. Also, I did not like walking to the back in the evenings.”

“We had a very clean and spacious room at this holiday inn. We were surprised because of the price. The only complaint was that it was right on the road, so ask for a room on the other side of the building.”
